Max W. McClellan Jr., 66, of 22 Woodland Drive, Fulton, died Monday. Born in  Pennsylvania, he lived in Fulton most of his life. He worked for Painters Local 31 in Syracuse and Heavy Equipment Operator's Union in Rochester. He owned and operated Max's Metal Magic & Sons Body Shop in Fulton for several years. He was a member of Redfield Rod & Gun Club in Redfield and Ducks Unlimited, Oswego County Chapter. Survivors: His wife of 43 years, the former Patricia A. Tryniski; three daughters, Charlene A. Scaringi and Muril L. Loveless, both of Fulton, and Elizabeth J. Haas of Glenfield; three sons, Wayne E., Darryl W. and Max W. III, all of Fulton; his father, Max W. Sr. of Newark; two sisters, Delrea Miller of Port Gibson and Sandy Bridgeman of Newark; two brothers, Dale of Colorado and Waden of Macedon; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Services: None. Bette L. Mero

Bette L. Doster Mero, 53, of 25 Champion Park, Elbridge, died Monday. Born in Buffalo, she graduated from West Genesee High School and Auburn Hospital School of Nursing. She lived in Camillus before moving to Elbridge. She had worked at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center and was a former member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Camillus. Survivors: Her husband of 27 years, John M.; two daughters, Angela Doster Holenbeck of Ashby, Mass., and Jeanne Mero of Baldwinsville; two sons, John M. Jr. of Solvay and James of Elbridge; her mother, Evelyn Doster of Baldwinsville; two sisters, Barbara Resseguie of Baldwinsville and Linda Bumpus of Gloversville; a brother, James Doster of Gloucester City, N.J.; four grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Bush Funeral Home-Elbridge. Burial, Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Calling hours, 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, 120 E. Main St., Elbridge.

Thomas S. Moody

Thomas Stephen Moody, 64, of Madison, Ind., died Sunday. Born in Syracuse, he graduated from Cato-Meridian High School in 1956 and moved away from the Syracuse area about 30 years ago. He graduated from State University College at Buffalo and received a master's degree from Ball State University. He was a psychologist at Rochester Psychiatric Center in Rochester from 1979 to '89 and was a psychologist at Madison (Ind.) State Hospital since 1993. He was an Army veteran. Survivors: Three sisters, Nancy Shampine of Baldwinsville, Elizabeth Havens of Churchville and Carolyn Hoyt of Honeoye Falls. Services: None. Burial, St. Agnes Cemetery, Canastota. Frances M. Mooney

Frances Mills Mooney, 78, of 100 Cornell Ave., Syracuse, died Tuesday. She was born in Syracuse. She retired in 1985 as a supervisor for the city of Syracuse after 27 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Her husband, William, died in 1986. Survivors: A son, James M. of Lakeland; a sister, Patricia Smith of Onondaga; two grandchildren. Services: 9 a.m. Thursday at Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home. Burial, St. Agnes Cemetery. Calling hour, 8 to 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 1628 W. Genesee St., Syracuse.

Gordon E. Parkhurst Sr

Gordon E. Parkhurst Sr., 71, of 89 Ellen St., Oswego, died Monday. Born in Sterling, he attended schools in Sterling and moved to Oswego in the late 1950s. He was a custodian at State University College at Oswego and had worked at Columbia Mills. He was a member of the Civil Service Employees Association at SUNY Oswego. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. His wife, Peachie, died in 1996. Survivors: A son, Gordon E. Jr. of Liverpool; two sisters, Frieda Stone of Oswego and Eleanor Spicer of Florida; three brothers, Donald of Florida and Roy Jr. and Richard, both of Sterling. Services and calling hours: Private. Robert G. Pierce

Robert G. Pierce, 74, of Eastwood died Sunday at Loretto. Born in Utica, he lived in Syracuse most of his life. He retired in 1991 from U.S. Airlines after 35 years. He was a member of DeWitt Community Church and U.S. Air Senior Group. Survivor: A cousin, Jeanette Colwell of Charlotte, N.C. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Welter-Price Funeral Home. Clarke H. Pohl

Clarke Harriman Pohl, 91, of Naples, Fla., died Thursday. He lived in Syracuse and Fayetteville before moving to Naples 27 years ago. He attended the Peddie School, Cornell University and Syracuse University. He was a member of Psi U fraternity while at SU. He owned and operated Perry Pies Bakery and was a general contractor and designer of custom homes in the Syracuse area. He was a deacon at Park Central Presbyterian Church and a member of The University Club and the board at Onondaga Golf and Country Club. His wife of 66 years, the former Charlotte Bowker, died previously. Survivors: Two daughters, Suzanne Moulton of Ashburnham, Mass., and Nancy Ginter of Naples; a son, Skip of Pacific Palisades,  Calif.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She was a waitress for Danzer's and Child's restaurants, Syracuse, for 30 years and retired in 1982. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3146, Mattydale. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Syracuse. Her husband, August, died in 1991.Survivors: A daughter, Ella May McLaren of Mattydale; two sons, John A. of Baldwinsville and Thomas A. of Liverpool; two sisters, Lena Domachowski of Mattydale and Mary Carr of Cumberland, R.I.; two brothers, Chester Osinski and Charles Osinski, both of Mattydale; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
