She was a former math teacher at West Middle School and Auburn High School. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Auburn. She was a member of Owasco Country Club and was a volunteer at St. Joseph's School in Auburn. Survivors: Her husband of 11 years, Edward J.; a son, Matthew E. of Auburn; her parents, Robert and Lorraine DeCristoforo Solomon of Auburn; two sisters, Brenda Solomon of Vermont and Rhonda Solomon Mc Connell of Auburn. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Family Church in Auburn. Burial, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming. Serena A. Spain, 56, of Newberry, Fla., died July 30. Born in Nenaugh, County Tipperary, Ireland, she lived in Syracuse from 1957 to 1975, and in Florida 27 years. She graduated from Blodgett High School. She retired this year as manager of the civil office after 21 years with the Gainesville Sheriff's Department. Survivors: A daughter, Erin West of Tampa, Fla.; a son, David West of Newberry; her mother, Betty Spain of Newberry; three brothers, Roger Spain of Marcellus, Michael Spain of Preble and Christopher Spain of Syracuse. Kathleen M. "Kay" Carey Tosi, 85, of Clare Bridge, Fayetteville, died Aug. 9 at Loretto. Born in Worcester, Mass., she attended Becker Business College in Worcester. She retired in 1971 as a secretary for Connecticut General Mutual Life Insurance in Syracuse after 15 years. She was a member of Gold Star Wives of America. She was a former communicant of The Church of St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus, where she had been a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Manlius and Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville. Her husband, Lt. Col. Albert S., died in 1975. Survivors: Two daughters, Kathleen A. Esposito of Manlius and V. Maureen Andola of Highland; a sister, Virginia Canane of Daytona Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Services: Will be in  Washington, D.C. Harry A. Uhl, Jr.

Harry A. Uhl, Jr., 27, of Groton died Saturday from injuries suffered in an early-morning hit-and-run boating accident on Cayuga Lake in Tompkins County. He raced modified stock cars. Among survivors: A brother, Rick of Genoa. Lansing Funeral Home, Lansing, has arrangements.

Clarence E. "Gib" Webb, 75, of Onondaga Hill died Saturday. Born in Panther Lake, he graduated from Camden High School. He was a self-employed mason contractor doing business as C.E. Webb Masonry. He was a member of American Legion Valley Post 1468 and had bowled in leagues at Valley Sport Center. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife of 53 years, the former Mary I. Humiston; a daughter, Michele A. Tiss of Onondaga Hill; a son, Clarence E. III of Cicero; three grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home. Helen Paczkowski Alletzhauser, 91, of Central Square died Saturday at Loretto. Born in Glen Lyon, Pa., she lived in Syracuse 80 years. She retired in 1993 as owner and proprietor of F.G. Alletzhauser Meats in Central Square after 60 years. She was a member of many bowling leagues at Women's Pastime Athletic Club, a past member of St. John the Baptist Church, and a member of St. Michael's Church and the Central Square Senior Citizens. Her husband, Francis G., died in 1993. A son, Thomas F., died in 1997. Survivors: A brother, Edward Pack of Liverpool; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Services: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Watson Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Church. Burial, St. Mary's Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, DeWitt. Sister M. Letitia Fischer, 90, of 1024 Court St., Syracuse, died Friday at Wilson Convent, Syracuse. Born Dorothy Fischer in Utica, she graduated from the Eastman Dental Dispensary School for Dental Hygienists in Rochester and the Mercy School of Medical Record Librarians in Buffalo. She entered the Sisters of St. Francis in Syracuse in 1936 and made her final profession in 1941. She retired in 1992 after 55 years at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, working in nursing, the medical records library and pastoral care. Survivors: A sister-in-law, Rose Fischer of Chittenango. Services: 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Motherhouse, 1024 Court St., Syracuse. Burial, Assumption Cemetery, following an 8:30 a.m. service Wednesday in the motherhouse chapel. She graduated from  Washington Academy in Salem and the Geneva Practical School of Nursing. She was a licensed practical nurse at local nursing homes from the 1940s to the 1970s. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Auburn and its Gleaners Class and Women's Society. Her husband, Eugene L., died in 1958. Survivors: Two daughters, Frances Dixon of Auburn and Dorothy Lee of Throop; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. He also was a tool designer for Smith-Corona for 11 years. He was a communicant of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, where he was an usher. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 28th Infantry Division in Europe. Survivors: His wife, the former Vincenza Massa; two sons, Robert of Syracuse and James of Oswego; two grandchildren. Marleah Gorman Zautner, 85, of Clay died Saturday. She was born in Fabius. She retired in 1972 after 17 years as a school bus driver for North Syracuse Central Schools. She volunteered at Bear Road Elementary School, worked with Central New York and Florida Hospice, volunteered with Meals on Wheels in Oldsmar, Fla., and previously worked at General Electric Co. for 11 years. Her first husband, Carl Gibbs, died in 1964. Her second husband, Harold Thompson, died in 1966, and her third husband, Fred Zautner, died in 1996. Survivors: Two daughters, Joy M. Walker of Oldsmar and Kay E. Kiggins of Clay; two sisters, Avis Walker and Marjorie Gallant, both of Florida; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Services: Private. Carolyn M. Topping Bell, 65, of Solvay died Aug. 13. Born in Newburgh, she also had a summer home in Sackets Harbor. She did clerical work at Deli Boy in Solvay and had also worked at Newburgh Newspaper and New York Bell Telephone in Newburgh. She pioneered the development of the Children's Fundamental Learning Program at the Syracuse Developmental Center and was a strong advocate for Syracuse Developmental Center Chapter of Association of Retarted Children.Survivors: A daughter, Jamie L. Boots of Camillus; two sons, David E. and Robert D. Jr., both of Solvay; a sister, Janet F. Cox of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; two grandchildren. Services: 5 p.m. Wednesday at Lucians' Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Newburgh. Calling hours, 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 315 Bridge St., Solvay.
