Frank Pulaski Sr.
DELHI — Frank Pulaski Sr., 79, of Waterman Road, Delhi, RD (town of Meredith) died early Monday, Aug. 17, 1998 at his home following a six month illness.

He was born Feb. 14, 1919 in Kearny, N.J. the son of Stanley and Alice (Kluck) Pulaski, who were natives of Poland.

A World War II United States Army veteran, Frank served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre, as a boatman, attaining the rank of Staff Sgt. after 5 years of military service.

He married Helen Borek on Sept. 19, 1943 in Newark N.J.

In 1950 the Pulaski family moved to Waterman Road, where they purchased a dairy farm which they operated for almost 30 years.

In addition to farming, in later years Frank was also employed as a Union construction worker in the local area until his retirement in 1981.

Mrs. Pulaski died April 11, 1995.

Frank was a longtime communicant of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Delhi.

Surviving are a son, Frank Pulaski Jr., of Delhi; a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and James Rallis of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and a brother, Walter Pulaski of Western New York, as well as several nieces and nephews in New Jersey.

He was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Pulaski Jr.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday at the Hall & Peet Funeral Home, Delhi where the family will be in attendance 7 to 9 p.m. and a vigil service will be held at 8:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug 20, 1998 at St. Peter's Church by the Rev. Fr. Joseph Manerowski, pastor.

With final commendation and burial following in the Woodland Cemetery where the Donald W. Gleason Post No. 190 American Legion will accord military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Catskill Area Hospice.

Arrangements are entrusted to Robert A. Peet, Delhi.

Catherine Andela
RICHFIELD SPRINGS — Catherine Andela was called to her eternal rest on Aug. 16, 1998, at the age of 78, following a long illness.

She was the wife of Andrew Andela, to whom she was married on Aug. 22, 1944.

She was born in Prospect Park, N.J. on Aug. 30, 1919, to John and Ruth (VanderVeen) Zigterman.

She graduated from Eastern Christian Academy and Paterson Normal School (now William Paterson College). She taught for 27 years for the Eastern Christian School Association of North Haledon, N.J. Following her retirement, she and her husband lived in Richfield Springs.

She was a member of the Mohawk Reformed Church.

She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Anna and a brother, John.

She is survived by two sisters, Henrietta Baukema of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Rena Jane Bruins of Hawthorne, N.J.; her husband, Andrew and four children, Ronald of Unadilla Forks, Ruth Kelly of Okeechobee, Fla., Andrew of Flushing, Kathleen DeJong of Burlington and 12 grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are invited to a special service of worship honoring the life of Catherine Andela at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30, 1998 at the Mohawk Reformed Church, Mohawk with the Rev. James DeWitt preaching.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Easten Christian School Assoc., 50 Oakwood Ave., North Haledon, N.J. 07508 of the Catskill Area Hospice.

Funeral arrangements through J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, Richfield Springs.

Peggy B. Nesbitt
SOUTH KORTRIGHT — Peggy B. Nesbitt, 41, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998, in the town of Franklin.

She was born Feb. 8, 1957 in Oneonta, the daughter of Olen Burdick and Ellen (Drake) Burdick.

She married Rick Nesbitt on Nov. 4, 1978 at Bloomville United Methodist Church.

She was a school bus driver for South Kortright Central School. She was a wonderful housewife, and mother.

She was a graduate of South Kortright Central School.

She was a member of Bloomville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Rick; one son, Dustin Nesbitt at home; father and mother, Olen and Ellen Burdick of Bloomville; one sister and brother-in-law, Valerie and John Trovato of Massachusetts and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1998 at 2 p.m., at the Bloomville United Methodist Church with Pastor Clinton Lunt officiating.

Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery, South Kortright.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

The family will be in attendance from 7 to 9 p.m. at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart.

Contributions in Peggy's memory may be made to the Bloomville United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are by MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart.

Werner Anthony `Red' Haus
ONEONTA — Werner Anthony "Red" Haus of Oneonta died Friday, Aug. 14, 1998 at his home.

Red was born Sept. 28, 1940 in Bergenfield, N.J. The son of Anthony Otto and Lona L. (Enders) Haus.

He married Elaine L. Downing on Jan. 1, 1982 in Oneonta.

Red graduated from Laurens Central School, in 1958. In 1969 he graduated from the State University College at Oneonta.

Red owned The Beef Box with Peter Granger, The Sour Grape, Red's Filling Station with Kevin Johnson, Susquehanna Service and Supply, and also the Mount Vision Inn Apartments.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine L. Downing; a brother, Ronald Haus; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Hause and Diane Downing; nieces and nephews, Karen and Erik Hous, and John and Elizabeth Lambert; his mother-in-law, Dorothy B. Downing.

At Red's request, there will be no calling hours.

There will be a private memorial service for the family following cremation. For those who feel disposed, contributions may be made to the SUCO Foundation Memorial Scholarship in memory of Werner A. "Red" Haus, care of 6 Ford Ave., Oneonta, N.Y. 13820.

Ward Fancher Jr.
AFTON — Wark Fancher Jr., 73, of Oak Hill Road, Afton died Monday, Aug. 17, 1998 at The Hospital, Sidney.

He was born, Dec. 25, 1924 in Bovina Center. The son of Ward and Nellie (Miller) Fancher.

He has been a resident of Afton for many years and had previously been a resident of Andes.

Mr. Fancher is survived by a sister, Ida Schlisman of Sidney; a brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Bertha Fancher of Unadilla also nephews, Robert Mann of Cedar Key, Fla., William and Peter Mann of Sidney, Paul Mann of Gilbertsville, Lawrence Fancher of Oneonta and Thomas Fancher of Saginaw, Mich.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 20, 1998 at the Westcott Funeral Home, Unadilla, with the Rev. R. Michael Amos, pastor of the Fellowship Baptist, Unadilla, officiating.

Burial will be in Andes Cemetery, Andes.

There will be no calling hours.

Funeral arrangements are by the Westcott Funeral Home, Unadilla.

Nancy E. Grant
EAST BERNE — Nancy Champlin Grant, 64, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998 at Ellis Hospital.

Nancy was born in Hobart, the daughter of Clara Lyon Champlin and the late Floyd Champlin.

A graduate of Sough Kortright Central School in the Class of 1951, she was a homemaker and later worked at the Colonie K-mart store for several years.

She was the wife of the late Richard (Red) Grant.

She is survived by daughters, Kathe Bryan and Debra Consolver; sisters, Margaret Decker, Doris Clark, Donna Champlin and Leon Champlin, all of Hobart; grandchildren, Tina Harris, Roger and Cyndel Consolver, James and Mark Bryan and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Leslie Champlin.

Graveside services were held Aug. 8, 1998 in Westerlo Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Helderberg Ambulance Squad, 978 Cole Rd., East Berne, N.Y. 12059.

Bruce Shelton
SIDNEY CENTER — Bruce Shelton, 89, of Sidney Center passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 1998 at his home.

He was born Sept. 15, 1908 to the late Carl L. and Effie Wilson Shelton in Batavia, Iowa.

He was a member of the order of the Eagles, Oneonta and Garden City, Kan.

Bruce was predeceased by his wife, Addie May Glover, Aug. 13, 1989.

He is survived by two brothers, Perry Shelton of Trout Creek and Luther Shelton of Sidney Center and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1998 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney at 7:30 p.m. Pastor David Gatje, Trout Creek Community Church will officiate.

There will be no calling hours.

Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, Kan.

Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers, Inc., Sidney.

Mary G. Banker
BOVINA CENTER — A committal service for Mary G. Banker, formerly of Hancock will be held at graveside at the Bovina Cemetery, Bovina Center on Saturday, Aug. 22, 1998 at 11 a.m. There will be a reception following the service for family and friends.

Leona M. Enright
ONEONTA — Leona M. Enright, 90, of 60 Ford Ave., Oneonta passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 1998 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born June 19, 1908, in Maybrook, the dauther of Charles A. and Charlotte (Edwards) Krom.

She married Elmer V. (Mike) Enright on Jan. 28, 1931, in St. Joseph's Rectory, Middletown. Mr. Enright died June 30, 1969.

A homemaker most of her life, she worked during World War II at the Middletown Knitting Mill, and with her late husband operated "Enright's Inn," during the early 1950's in Middletown. They also opened their home to a number of elderly borders throughout the years.

Leona was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, interested in cooking, entertaining, reading, growing house plants, and known for her willingness to help others.

Retiring she moved to Saugerties in 1971, and then to Oneonta where she made her home for the past 26 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Middletown and St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Oneonta.

On June 19th she was the guest of honor at a party held to celebrate her 90th birthday, with over 40 guests attending. The next evening, escorted by her two grandsons, she carried on an Irish linen pillow the wedding bands of her granddaughter and grandson-in-law.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Ann Enright of Oneonta; three grandchildren, Michael of Oneonta, Sean of Dallas,  Texas, and Elizabeth Enright Twomey and husband, Michael of Albany; a nephew, Menzo Brown and his wife, Anne of Whitney Point; as well as several great-nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, D. Vincent Enright, a brother, Van Roy Krom, and a sister, Esther Mae Brown.

Leona will be cremated at the Hillington Crematory, Morris. There will be no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed in Leona's memory to the charity of one's choice.
