Delmar James Berghorn
Delmar James Berghorn, age 95, of 152 Broadway, Saranac Lake, died Monday, October 20, 2008 at his home in Saranac Lake.

Born in Akron, New York on November 27, 1912, he was the son of Charles and Ella (Burnett) Berghorn. He married Emma Law on October 9, 1980 in Saranac Lake.

Del worked at the General Hospital of Saranac Lake for ten years in central supply. Prior to that he owned and operated Berghorn's Music Shop in Saranac Lake for two years and was a member of a drum and bugle band. He worked for ORDA at the Olympic Ski Jumping Complex as an elevator operator for ten years, retiring in 1988. Del loved ballroom music and played in a band years ago, performing at the Wawbeek, the Tic Tock and other locations. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also was a renowned story-teller and was once featured on Adelphia Cable's Public access channel 2. He was a member of the Thousand Islands and the Malone Oriental Temple of the Shrine and the Lake Placid Masonic Lodge # 834 F&AM. He is a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He was a past member of the Akron Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife Emma of Saranac Lake, three sons Charles Berghorn and his wife Kathy of Lake Placid, NY, Philip Berghorn and his wife Betty of Tioga Center, NY, Darryl Berghorn and his wife Leslie of Laguna Nigel, CA, one daughter JoAnne Bickford and her husband Tom of Tupper Lake, NY; ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his niece Evie Stapleton. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, three brothers and two sisters.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. A Masonic Service will take place at 7:45 PM Wednesday evening immediately followed by a Veterans Service. A funeral service will take place at 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Robert Lawthers officiating. A graveside service will take place at 10:30 AM in North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid on Thursday October 23. Family and friends are invited to participate in a funeral procession to the cemetery which will depart from the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Thursday morning.

Leah S. Fletcher
Leah S. Fletcher, age 78, of 101 Clinton Ave., Saranac Lake, died Sunday, October 19, 2008 at the Franklin County Nursing Home in Malone.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on September 10, 1930, she was the daughter of Clarence and Lorena (Martin) Swinyer.

Leah was a life-long resident of Saranac Lake and had been employed by the Ayres Insurance Agency and the Army Navy Store. She was later employed as a secretary at Sunmount for 25 years and St. Josephs rehabilitation center as a receptionist until 2005 when she retired for medical reasons. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and loved to bowl, knit and square dance.

Leah married Herbert Fletcher on April 12, 1952. He predeceased her on October 13, 2004.

She is survived by five children: Steven Fletcher and his wife Janet of Saranac Lake, Raymond Fletcher and his wife Carol of Lake Clear and Randall Fletcher and his wife Dorene, Jeffrey Fletcher and his companion Sue Starr and Wendy Martin and her husband Robert all of Saranac Lake, fourteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, six brothers and sisters: Frederick Muncil of Jaffrey, NH, Dorothy Lorette and her husband James of Saranac Lake, Nancy Johnston of Peterboro, NH, JoAnne LeClair of Jaffrey, NY, Marie Lynch of Homestead, FL and Morton Muncil of Jaffrey, NH. She was preceded in death by her father Clarence Swinyer, her mother Lorena Martin and her brother Michael Muncil.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Thursday, October 23, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. A Women of the Moose service will be held at 7:30 PM Thursday.

A funeral service will be held October 24, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Lawthers officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Vermontville.

Mae Hyrup
Mae Hyrup, age 106, of Uihlein Mercy Center, Lake Placid died on Oct. 5, 2008 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Lake Placid.

She was born Floreda Mary Morrissette on March 5, 1902 in Hinckley, N.Y. and was one of 12 children born to Felix and Dorcina (Brunette) Morrissette.

She attended school Newport, N.Y. and Ilion, N.Y.. She later worked at Big Moose Lodge where she met George Walter Hyrup. They were married on Sept. 6, 1935 in New York City and moved to Oaklyn, N.J. where George was a veteran of the Hadden Township Police Force until his death Feb. 25, 1968 .

After her husbands death she moved back to New York, living in Onchiota, Ilion, and finally Lake Placid where she lived in The Greenwood for many years before moving to Uihlein Mercy Center. She was a past member of the Catholic Daughters, Court of Saint Bernard.

Mae loved to read, especially Danielle Steele, and play cards with friends at The Greenwood. Many afternoons were spent watching reruns of The Golden Girls while eating cheesecake and chocolates. She never passed up the chance to hear a good joke or tell a good story and will be dearly missed by her many friends and family.

Mae was an aunt to five generations of her family and survived by her son George Thomas Hyrup of Lake Placid, five nieces and one nephew, Laurel Morrisette and Nancy Young of Ilion, Joyce Countryman of Mohawk, Margaret Hoskyns of Herkimer, Marion Slocum of Newport, Gary Morrisette of Oswego and many grand nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband George Walter Hyrup, brothers Ted, Jack, Vela, Lawrence, Albert and Bill; and sisters Maude and Lucy.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A mass of Christian Burial is set to take place at 12:00 PM on Wednesday October 29, 2008 at the Uihlein Mercy Center Chapel in Lake Placid with Rev. Patrick O'Reilly officiating. Interment will follow at Merrillsville Cemetery .

Margaret C. Mayotte
Margaret C. Mayotte, 86, of Tupper Lake, died Thursday, October 16, 2008 at AMC Mercy Center where she had resided since December 2003. Born on June 7, 1922 in Tupper Lake, she was the daughter of Peter and Agnes (Dubois) Mayotte. She was one of 14 brothers and sisters. On May 8, 1947 she married Chester Holik at St. Alphonsus church. Mrs. Mayotte worked for General Electric in Schenectady during WWII. Then went on to work for NY State in Mental Health until retiring in 1980 and returned to her hometown of Tupper Lake. Margaret is survived by one son John Holik and his wife Celinda of Broadalbin, NY. Two grandsons, Jordan and John, one grandaughter Laurie Erickson, a sister Mary Stewart of Tupper Lake and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours, a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 22, at 12 noon at St. Alphonsus cemetery. Arrangements are with the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home in Tupper Lake.

Yvonne Mikall
Yvonne Mikall, 81, of Tupper Lake, died Wednesday, October 15 at AMC Mercy Center where she had resided for the past seven years. Born in Utica on December 24, 1926, she was the daughter of Shakeeb Bellamah and Malakie Nojime. Mrs. Mikall was raised in Jounieh, Lebanon and returned to Utica at the age of 18. On April 18, 1948 she married Raymond Mikall in Tupper Lake. Together they owned and operated Mikall’s IGA, Mikall’s Motel and later Ray’s Liquor store. Mr. Mikall died in 1997. She is survived by one son Raymond and one daughter Rose Courtney both of Tupper Lake. Five granddaughters, Meghan Mikall, Katie Mikall, Debbie Mikall, Ashley Courtney and Alisha Courtney. Two great-grandchildren Hayley and Raven. One sister Mae Astafan and her husband Louis and one sister in law Mary Mazloom and her husband Fred all of Utica and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband Ray and one brother Edmond Bellamah. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2pm at Holy Name Church. Burial will follow in St Alphonsus cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider AMC Mercy Center activities Dept or High Peaks Hospice.

Ann E. Tomlinson
Memorial services have been set for Ann E. Tomlinson, age 73, of Saranac Lake who died Friday September 12, 2008 at the Summerville Assisted Living facility in Florida. Mrs. Tomlinson’s family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Saturday October 18, 2008 at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A memorial service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with. Friends may make memorial contribution to the Special Olympics in care of the funeral home.

Martin Robert LaRocque
Martin Robert LaRocque, 93, died Saturday, October 11, 2008 surrounded by his family. He had been a resident of the Westborough Health care, Westborough, Ma., for a very short time. Born in Tupper Lake on January 27, 1915, he was the son of V.H. and Rose Martin LaRocque. He graduated from Holy Ghost Academy and Central City Business Institute in Syracuse, NY. In December 1941, he married Phyllis Shields Miller, shortly there after, they moved to Rochester where he worked for General Motors. A day was dedicated to him because he had given them the most ideas for improving production. After the war, they made their home in Tupper Lake. He worked for Martin Brothers, Tupper Lake School System and was in partnership with his brothers at LaRocque’s Department Store until its closing in 1977. Martin always had great stories to tell and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, golfing and card playing. He is survived by a sister Regina McGill of Tupper Lake, a daughter Lynn Pisano and her husband Bob of Franklin, Ma., and three grandsons, Robbie Pisano and his wife Jill of Franklin, Jamie Pisano and his wife Kari of Millville, Ma., Derek Pisano of Franklin, five great grandchildren, Rebecca, Jason, Trip, Christina, Ashley, several nieces and nephews and a very close friend Dick Rule and his wife Linda of Tupper Lake. Martin was pre-deceased by his wife and parents, three brothers, Leonard, Charles, Paul, four sisters, Sister Pius, Lucille, Beatrice and Mary. There will be no calling hours. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, October 25, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad. Arrangements are with the Stuart-Fortune-Keough, funeral home.

Kenneth F. Yousey
Kenneth F. Yousey, age 82, of 78 Will Rogers Drive, Saranac Lake died Tuesday, October 14, 2008 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Crogan, New York on December 13, 1925, he was the son of Peter and Lola (Wolf) Yousey. He married Marilyn Miner of Mayfield, New York in 1954

Kenneth was employed as a land surveyor for the Department of Environmental Conservation in Ray Brook for 41 years until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, walking, reading and spending time with his family. He is a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II from 1944 to 1946. He is a charter member of the Wild Center Natural History Museum in Tupper Lake and was a member of the Residence Committee to Protect Adirondacks.

He is survived by four children Kent Yousey and his wife Ellen Peer Yousey of Saranac Lake, NY, Tina Tyler and her husband Hubert of Vermontville, NY, Robin Oliver and her husband Allen of Vermontville, NY, and Thad Yousey of Ava, NY, 8 Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters and four brothers Virginia Noftsier, Loretta Briggs, and Alethea Belknap, Robert Yousey, LeRoy "Ted" Yousey, James Yousey and Donald Yousey.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. Interment will take place at the Gospel Hall Cemetery in Belfort, NY at a later date..

Marcel (Skip) Dimorier
Marcel (Skip) Dimorier went to be with his Lord and Saviour October 9, 2008 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, NY surrounded by love from his family. He will be remembered by all for his valiant fight with cancer. Skip’s kind heart and gentle ways led him to a lifetime of caring and helping others. He will be missed by those who were blessed to have known him.

Skip was born January 3, 1953 in Sidney, New York to Gordon Elton Dimorier and Wilhma  Jones Dimorier. He graduated from Sidney Central High School, class of 1971, and then joined the Air Force. Skip served his country for twenty years being stationed in many parts of the world. He met and married Chantra Sridarwan in Korat,Thailand. He was preceded in death two years ago by his wife of 33 years. They have five children and two grandchildren; Daughter, JoAnn Dimorier, Goldsboro, NC; Daughters & Sons-in-law, Diane & 2nd Lt Richard Palz, Naval Air Station Whiting Field, FL, Jane & Rex Sims, Abilene, TX; Sons, Bert Dimorier, Abiline, TX, and Joe Dimorier, Las Vegas, NV; Grandchildren, Tyler Grady, NAS Whiting Field, FL and Lexi Dimorier, Goldsboro, NC. Skip is also survived by his Sisters and Brothers-in-law; Twin sister Cookie & Earl Polster, Sidney, NY, Suzanne & George Titus, Tolland, CT, Cherie & Don Duso, Saranac Lake, NY and Sandra & Bill DeCocker, Sidney Center, NY.

Surviving as well are many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Regretfully, Skip also leaves behind his fiancé, Willowan Wongwareethip, in Bangkok, Thailand.

Skip retired from the Air Force as a TSGT in 1991 from Seymour  Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, NC. He and his family became permanent residents of Goldsboro where the children attended school and Skip entered the civilian work force. Employment at Mount Olive Pickle Company added another dimension to his life. He enjoyed meeting new people and making many new friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Circle Drive Alliance Church in Sidney, NY on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 2 p.m.

Elinor R. Zahn
Elinor R. Zahn, age 88, of 26 Old Lake Colby Road, Saranac Lake, NY died Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on October 14, 1920, she was the daughter of George and Blanche (Paye) Daniels. She married Bernard Zahn II on November 23, 1943 in Scotia, NY. He predeceased her in 1971.

Mrs. Zahn was a member of the Ladies Guild at St. Luke’s Church, volunteered at the budget box and at the Annual St. Luke's Bazaar.

She is survived by one son Bernard Zahn III and his wife Sue of Staatsburg, NY; three daughters Pamela Zahn, R.N. of Lakeland, FL, Jennifer Zahn of Westbury, NY, Melanie Jaramillo and her husband Carlos of Okemos, MI; six grandchildren Chris Osswald, Scott Zahn, Alicia and Alex Jaramillo, Alana Zahn and Bernard Zahn IV; four great Grandchildren Michael Osswald and Hunter, Carter and Lauren Zahn. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews including Virginia and Brian Daniels and one sister-in-law Eleanor Daniels of Saranac Lake. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, three brothers Stanley, Philip and James Daniels, and one sister Dorothy Daniels.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Friday, November 28, 2008 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM. A memorial service will take place on Saturday November 29, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Luke's Church, with Rev. Ann S. Gaillard officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the Parish Hall after the Memorial Service put on by The Ladies Guild.

David Paul Lieb
David Paul Lieb, 86, passed away on Saturday, November 29th in Lake Placid, New York.
A long time resident of Livingston, Mr. Lieb was born in Newark, NJ and graduated from South Side High School and Newark University (now Rutgers). He served in the 8th Army Air Force during World War II as a pilot navigator, completing 36 missions over Germany, France, Poland, Belgium, and Holland.

Mr. Lieb was a Certified Public Accountant. He began his career as a comptroller for Display Box Company in Harrison, NJ and then established a private accounting practice.

He is survived by his second wife, Diane Ricca Lieb and four children from his first marriage to Sylvia Sass Lieb: Cynthia Lieb of New York City, Carin (and Paul) Feldman of Baltimore, Hilarie Lieb (and Morris Goldman) of Oak Park, IL, and Dr. Irwin Lieb of Saranac Lake, NY in addition to 8 grandchildren (Allyson, Shane, Mimi, Megan, Brendan, Sydnie, Coleman, and Camryn), 2 great-grandchildren (Sabine and Elliot) and his brother, Dr. Herbert Lieb of Roseland. He is also survived by Dennis Ricca and David Ricca and their families.

Mr. Lieb was an avid fisherman and tennis player. He supported many charities including UJA Federation MetroWest, the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Hadassah.

Services will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 12 noon at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY. Rabbi Alec Friedmann will officiate. A interment service will follow at the United Hebrew Community Cemetery, Lake Placid, NY.

George A. Beattie
George A. Beattie, 82, of Newman Rd. Lake Placid, NY passed away Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Adirondack Medical Center, Saranac Lake. George was the son of Frank and Mamie (Cobb) Beattie. He was born December 6, 1925 in AuSable Forks, NY. He was a graduate of AuSable Forks High School. George married Frances Snow October 18, 1945 at St. Eustace Episcopal Church. His wife Frances predeceased him March, 29 1996. George was mostly a farmer throughout his life and also worked for the Lake Placid Club, New York State DOT, North Elba Park District and was caretaker for the Historical John Brown Farm and Grave. He worked for the Village of Lake Placid Highway Department for 25 years retiring in 1988. George was an exempt member of the Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department, he was a member of the Lake Placid Masonic Lodge #0834, and a member of the Lake Placid Fish and Game Club. George was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and his friends. George is survived by his sister Ruth Senecal of Lake Placid, NY; his daughter Catherine Boyer and her husband Richard of Lake Placid, NY; his granddaughter Jocelyn Mihill and his great-grandson Jerrett Mihill both of Lake Placid, NY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, December 3rd from 5pm to 8pm at the M.B. Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY. A Masonic Prayer Service will be held at 7pm followed by a Fireman's Prayer Service at 7:30pm. A time of reflection will follow. Cremation will take place at the Pine View Crematory. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests donations in memory of George to made to High Peaks Hosice or North Country Life Flight.

Kenneth C. Porter
Kenneth C. Porter, 72 of Lewis, NY and formerly of Lake Placid, NY passed away Monday, November 24, 2008 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, NY. He was born in Lake Placid, NY April 19, 1936 the son of Kenneth W and Isabel (Moody) Porter. Mr. Porter had worked in Lake Placid as Heavy Equipment Operator for the Highway Dept. and had worked for Porter Construction and Laurabell Construction building over 140 homes and buildings in Lake Placid and the surrounding area. He was founder and Pastor of Heaven Hill Ministries originally located at Heaven Hill Farm in Lake Placid, NY and currently located in Lewis, NY. Mr. Porter is survived by his wife Rose (Gonyea) Porter of Lewis, NY; one son, Steve Porter and his wife Melissa of Lake Placid, NY; three daughters, Cindy Conway and her husband Lewis of Lake Placid, NY, Joanne Heimerdinger and her husband Charles of Clifton Park, NY and Rebecca Porter of Watertown, NY; one sister Diane Smart and her husband Roger of Lake Placid, NY and Sheila Hare of Saranac Lake, NY; two stepsons, Thomas S. Hare and his wife Lanore of Tullahoma, TN and Jonathan Hare of Tullahoma, TN. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held Friday, November 28th from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the M.B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY. Funeral services and Burial will be held at North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid, Saturday, November 29th at 10:30am. Rev. Kenneth Mihill Pastor of Adirondack Church of Nazarene will officiate.

Wilfred Andrew Burnett
Wilfred Andrew Burnett,86, lifelong resident of Long Lake, gently passed away, Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at the home of his daughter’s Wilma in Akron. Born on December 30, 1921 in Long Lake, he was the son of Joseph and Mary (Kiperin) Burnett. Mr. Burnett was a medic who served in the South Pacific during WWII. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to be outside in the Adirondack wilderness. He worked for the former Freeman’s Store and was the caretaker for several cabins on Long Lake. He retired from the NY State Department of Transportation after 25 years. He is pre-deceased by his wife Anastasia who died in 2001. He is survived by his sister Rita Burch and children Nancy DuCharme and her husband Joseph of Burnt Hills, Wilma Randall and her husband John of Akron, Wilfred D. Burnett of Long Lake, Michael Burnett and his wife Julie of East Barnet, Vt. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, David, Amy, Laura, Nathan, Adam, Andrew, Mary, Kyle, Matthew, Melissa, Keith, Jason, James, Megan and Jessica and 5 great-grandchildren, Sarah, Joshua, Grace, William and Jeremiah. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 23 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at St. Henry’s Church in Long Lake. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 12 noon. Burial will follow in the Long Lake cemetery with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to; Hospice Buffalo, Inc., 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14227.

Linda Mary Lamica
Linda Mary Lamica,59, of Plattsburgh and formerly of Tupper Lake, died peacefully with family at her side on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at CVPH in Plattsburgh after a brief battle with cancer. Linda was born May 23, 1949 in Tupper Lake, the daughter of Irvin and Rita (Grenier) Lamica. She attended Holy Ghost Academy until her junior year and with the school closure, transferred to Pius in Saranac Lake graduating in 1967. She then went on to attend CCBI in Syracuse. She worked mainly in Social Security Benefits and lived in the Syracuse area the majority of her career. She had a variety of interests, including, traveling, skiing, snowmobiling, crocheting and other crafts. She is survived by one son Jared Lancor and his wife Erin of Plattsburgh, two sisters; Anne Marie Bedore and her husband Glenn of Tupper Lake, Jeanne Lamica of Plainfield, Vt., two brothers; Reverend Alan Lamica of Saranac Lake and John Lamica and his wife Dina of Tupper Lake. Nieces and nephews who include; Emily Churco of Buffalo, Jesse Bedore of Tupper Lake, Kaley Cook and Kyle Cook. She was pre-deceased by her parents in 2007. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 22 at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Tupper Lake from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon at St. Alphonsus church with Fr. Alan Lamica officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the American Cancer Society or High Peaks Hospice.

Geraldine Mae Jones
Geraldine Mae Jones, 75, of Tupper Lake died Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at her home. Born on April 5, 1933 in Conifer, she was the daughter of Charles and Mabel (Meacham) Barton. Geraldine attended local schools and was employed at the Dress Factory until it's closure. She went on to work as a Home Health Aide for North Country Home Services. Geraldine was a member of the VFW women's auxiliary. She is survived by one daughter; Rebecca Bracken of Middle Grove, NY, two sons; Ronald and Michael of Tupper Lake, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother Richard Barton of Saranac Lake, two sisters, Shirley Severance of Colton and Gladys Ferry of Watertown. She was pre-deceased by her longtime companion Richard Gonyea in November 1997. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 21 from 12 noon - 2pm with a funeral service being held at 2pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the dialysis unit at the Adirondack Medical Center.

Gladys M. Boushie
Gladys M. Boushie, 87, of Tupper Lake, passed away Monday, November 17 at her home on Main St. Born on April 29, 1921 in Tupper Lake, she was the daughter of Emile and Evelyn (LaBarge) LaLonde. On April 26, 1941 she married Dorran Boushie at Holy Name Church. He pre-deceased her on October 9, 2006. Mrs. Boushie was employed at Maids Pharmacy working as a sales clerk. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo and going to the casino. She also enjoyed playing golf in the ladies twi-light league. She is survived by three daughters; Diane Boucher and her husband Steven, Donna Snyder and her husband James, Mary McLear and her husband Patrick, all of Tupper Lake. Seven grandchildren; Tammy Boucher, James Boucher, both of Tupper Lake, Darcy Westover of St. Albans, Vt., Gary Dechene, Michelle Golden, both of Newville, Pa., Jason McLear of Keller TX and Scott McLear of Olean, NY. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Sarah Boucher, Dorran Boucher, Shayne Golden, Drew Dechene, Tommy McLear, Emma McLear and Lauren McLear, one brother Sherman LaLonde and two sisters, Theresa Yaworski and Barbara Kasper. She was pre-deceased by her husband Dorran, one sister Geraldine Beaudette and great-grandson Travis Dechene. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 19 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home in Tupper Lake. A mass of Christian burial will be on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Name Church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider High peaks hospice.

Virginia G. Cheney
Virginia G. Cheney, 73, of Tupper Lake, died Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Born on May 9, 1935 in Conifer, NY, she was the daughter of Lynn and Margaret (Jones) Cheney. Virginia was a graduate of Tupper Lake High School in 1953. On January 8, 1956 she married Robert Arsenault. He died in September 2005. Virginia and her family relocated to the Orlando, Florida area in 1971. She was employed by Florida Amusements retiring as office manager in 2001 and moved to Ashville, NC. In May of this year she had returned to Tupper Lake. She is survived by six daughters; Diane Marie Arsenault of Altamonte Springs, Florida, Cathy Pioch and her husband Bill of Ashville, NC, Karen Davis of Ocoee, Florida, Mary-Jo Savage of Orlando, Ginny Bell and her husband Roy of Apopka, Florida, Bobbi Tellez of Orlando, 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister Elaine Cheney of Tupper Lake. She was pre-deceased by one daughter Donna Spicer and two brothers Darwin and Carlton. Family will receive friends on Monday, November 17 from 4 to 5 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home in Tupper Lake. A funeral service will be held at 5pm with the Rev. Jan Blankenship officiating.

Robert Moore
Moore, Robert “Bob” Passed peacefully away at St.Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, November 12, 2008. Robert “Bob” Moore, aged 53. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Kathleen, brothers: Reg and Bill; Sister: Joan. Leaving to mourn his soul-mate and best friend, wife Judy( nee Power) and his two buddies Misty and Tuck. Brothers: Edward (Linda), Gerald ( Mercedes); Sisters: Helen Brocklehurst, Josephine ( Allen Carpenter, Ottawa), Margaret Jackson, Joan (Freeman Miller), Mary (Tolson Hudson), Barbara Ann Spencer (Schlitt) of Saranac Lake, New York; Special Nieces: Cathy Portuondo, Ashley and Amanda Hunt, and Nephew Paul Hudson. Also a large number of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Cremation Has Taken Place. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave, Mt. Pearl on Thursday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm and Friday from 10am-12pm, 2-4pm, and 7-9pm. Funeral mass will take place on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 10:30 am from Barrett’s Chapel on Commonwealth Ave. No flowers by request, Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to Daffodil Place.
