Ruth H. Perrigo
MORRISVILLE — Ruth H. Perrigo, 92, of Morrisville, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at the Crouse Community Center, Morrisville.

She was born April 21, 1906, in Columbus, the daughter of Grant and Julia (Holbrook) Williams.

She married Howard E. Perrigo, June 29, 1929, in the town of Columbus. He died Jan. 22, 1977.

She spent her childhood in Columbus. She graduated from New Berlin Central School.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, New Berlin, and a lifetime member of the Columbus Community Church, Columbus.

Ruth was a wonderful mother and grandmother, who loved music and gave lessons to young people. She also loved church and will be missed by everyone.

She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Maine of Oneonta, Janet and Jack Sitts of Ephrata, Pa., Margaret and Herb Foster of New Berlin and Evelyn and Tom May of New Berlin; sons, Edward and Sharon Perrigo of Spokane, Wash., Robert and Carol Perrigo of Clinton and Roy and Josephine Perrigo of Rochester; grandchildren, Celeste Spaziani, Susan Maine, Marc, Steven, Jeff and Alex Spaziani, Deb Jurasitz, Jackie Clouser, Eric, Craig and Kurt Perrigo, Duane Perrigo, Melissa Drejza, Margaret, James, Stephen and Joseph Foster and David Perrigo; several great and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Marvin Williams, and sisters, Anna Dewey and Bess Hill.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at 2 p.m. at the Dakin Funeral Home, New Berlin, with the Rev. Beverly Butler, of the First United Methodist Church, New Berlin. Interment will be in the Columbus Corners Cemetery, town of Columbus.

Calling hours are Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dakin Funeral Home, New Berlin.

Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, New Berlin or the New Berlin Emergency Squad, New Berlin.

Robert G. Krum
FORT PLAIN — Mr. Robert G. Krum, 79, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, after being stricken at home.

He was born in Fort Plain on Sept. 19, 1919, the son of the late Seward and Lulu (Gros) Krum. On Nov. 29, 1946, he was united in marriage to Irene Gray in Oneonta; she predeceased him in 1988.

He was a graduate of Owen D. Young High School. Robert proudly served in the United States Army 37th Division, FA-HQ Btry Division from 1942-1945.

He owned and operated the family dairy farm his entire life, until his retirement in 1996.

Mr. Krum was a member of the Mohawk Valley V.F.W. Post in Fort Plain, a lifelong member of the 2nd Indian Head Division. He was a committee member for Agway in Fort Plain, on the board of directors for the Mohawk Minden Insurance Company, and he was a member and past board member for the Starkville United Methodist Church.

He is survived by six daughters, Nancy Dornburgh of Fort Plain, Cheryl Staring of Ilion, Mary Lou Hajczewski of Fort Plain, Elaine Krum of Fort Plain, Donna Wilder of Springfield Center, and Diane Hoffman of Fort Plain; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, at 10 a.m. at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley, with the Rev. Alan Baumbach, pastor of the Freysbusch and Fort Plain United Methodist Churches, officiating. Spring internment will take place in the Fort Plain Cemetery, Fort Plain.

Calling hours will be Thursday, Jan. 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. wiht a V.F.W. service at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

It is the wish of the family that memorial contributions in Mr. Krum's memory be made to the South Minden Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.

William Barnhart Sr.
DYERSBURG, Tenn. — William Scott Barnhart Sr., 58, passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at Methodist Hospital, Sacramento,  Calif.

He was born to Howard and Virginia Conklin Barnhart on April 12, 1940, in Honesdale, Pa.

William was a former resident of Walton and Howell, N.J. He was a self-employed truck driver and ran his own business for 38 years.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Barnhart of Dyersburg, Tenn.; mother, Virginia Barnhart of Walton; son, William Scott Barnhart Jr. of Trevose, Pa.; daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Raymond Killion of Howell, N.J.; stepsons and daughter-in-law, Clarence and Linda Poor of Humboldt, Tenn., and Tim Poor of Charlotte, Tenn.; stepdaughters, Tammy Poor of Elk Grove,  Calif., and Becky Troull of Vellejo,  Calif.; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Clifford Foster of Masonville; aunt, Izzy Conklin of Hamden; two grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. David Gatje, of the Trout Creek Community Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Masonville Cemetery in the spring.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers, Inc., 21 Main St., Sidney.

Harry McNeilly Sr.
FRANKLIN — Harry Orman McNeilly Sr., 55, of Franklin, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at his home.

He was born on June 24, 1943, in Oneonta, the son of Robert and Rosalyn (Levene) McNeilly.

A lifelong area resident, Orman was a graduate of the Franklin High School. He married Susan E. Dresser on Oct. 26, 1982, in Franklin.

For a period of time he worked for NYSEG and Taggart Electric. However, most of his working career was in the timber industry and most recently was employ by P&W Forestry in Cold Brook.

Orman was an avid horseman. As a child he was involved with 4-H horse events and as an adult he had draft horses and pulling ponies. Currently his interests were in quarter horses and team penning. Along with being an avid hunter, he also enjoyed golf.

He held memberships in many team penning clubs. He also was one of the founding members of the Tri-Valley Horseman's Association.

For many years, he was involved in youth activities such as little league and Cub Scouts.

He is survived by his wife, Susan E. McNeilly of Franklin; his mother, Rosalyn McNeilly of Delhi; his children, Bernadine (Missy) Komenda, and her husband, Jamie, of Franklin, Ronda L. McNeilly, and her fiance, Paul Serafin, of Clifton Park, Denise R. McNeilly, and her fiance, Michael Perry, of Oneonta, Jennifer S. Dutcher, and her husband, Michael, of Franklin, Harry Orman (Buck) McNeilly Jr., and his wife, Deborah, of Franklin and Benjamin M. Bonker of Franklin; his six brothers, David A. McNeilly of Fayette, Ohio, Daniel McNeilly of Auburn, Robert McNeilly of Franklin, Paul McNeilly of Marcellus, and Roger McNeilly and Richard McNeilly of Franklin; his two sisters, Phylis Sitts of Davenport and Kelly Nichols of Delhi; and his five grandchildren, Cortney, Brittany and Kellen Komenda, and April and Dustin McNeilly. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A service to celebrate the life of Orman McNeilly will be held on Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, at 3 p.m. in the Franklin United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Andrea  White, Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care chaplain, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care Inc.

Arrangements are by the Kenneth L. Bennett Funeral Home, Franklin.

George P. Warner
MIDDLEFIELD — George P. Warner, 84, of Salerno Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at his home following a long illness.

Mr. Warner was born on Sept. 17, 1914, in the town of Broome, a son of John and Margaret Plankenhorn Warner.

Mr. Warner retired in May of 1980 from G.E. Corp., Schenectady, where he was a fabricating operator.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Eudalia Plankenhorn, who died on Sept. 30, 1989, and a grandson, Andrew D. Warner, who died Dec. 5, 1991.

He was a member of the Flat Creek Baptist Church, Gilboa.

Mr. Warner is survived by four daughters, Nellie Moore of Middlefield, Shirley Mann of North Blenheim, Elizabeth Coons of Middleburgh and Helen Cummings of Middleburgh; two sons, John Warner of North Blenheim and Andrew D. Warner Sr. of Middleburgh; a sister, Lillian Wilson of North Blenheim; a brother, Volney Warner of Middleburgh; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, from 7-9 p.m. at the Palmer and Shaylor Funeral Home, 63 River St., Middleburgh.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, with the Rev. Ronald Perry, pastor of the Flat Creek Baptist Church, officiating.

A spring burial will be made in Breakabeen Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Flat Creek Baptist Church, Gilboa, N.Y. 12076 or the Milford Emergency Squad, Milford, N.Y. 13807.

Nancy Hamm Fisher
HOMER — Nancy Hamm Fisher, 61, of Route 41, Homer, died Wednesday at Cortland Memorial Hospital.

Born in Oneonta, she had lived in the town of Spafford since 1961. She was a former grade-school teacher for the Marcellus Central School District.

Mrs. Fisher was a member of the Borodino United Methodist Church, Church Women United and was a Republican committeewoman for the town of Spafford.

Surviving are her husband, Sidney R. Fisher; a daughter, Dr. Deborah A. Fisher and her husband, Lawrence Carney, of Vernon; her mother, Josephine Hamm of Oneonta; a sister, Molly Gambino of New Baltimore; a brother, Robert Hamm of Oneonta; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Borodino United Methodist Church. Spring burial will be in Atwater Cemetery, Homer.

Contributions may be made to the Borodino United Methodist Church, Route 174, Skaneateles, N.Y. 13152 or the Spafford Fire Department, Route 41, Homer, N.Y. 13077.

Funeral arrangements are by the Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, 49 Jordan St., Skaneateles.

Annemarie Durand
STAMFORD — Annemarie Durand, a Stamford area resident for three years, died Jan. 3, 1999, at the Robinson Terrace.

She was formerly a resident at the Hearthstone Home for Adults in Hobart.

Annemarie was born in Nuremburg, Germany, in 1908 and arrived in America in 1930 after her marriage to Rudolf F. Durand who died in 1975.

She lived on Long Island for 55 years before moving to Hobart.

She is survived by her daughter, Sigrid Hipel of Stamford; a son, Norman W. Durand of Fort Myers, Fla.; and a sister, Erika Redlich of Loehma, Germany. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William A. Tari Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Stamford.

Ethel S. Bryden
DELHI — Ethel S. Bryden, 88, a longtime Delhi resident, died Thursday evening, Jan. 7, 1999, at Rex Hospital, Raleigh, N.C.
The daughter of Edwin and Minnie (Coon) Smith, she was born on June 12, 1910, in Downsville, where she grew up. She was a member of the former United Methodist Church, graduated high school in 1928 and married Harold C. Bryden on Sept. 28, 1929.

A homemaker and Delhi resident since 1929, Ethel and her husband owned and operated the family dairy farm on Elk Creek until their retirement in 1972. Mr. Bryden died July 28, 1976.

Ethel was a member of "The Merry Eight" pinochle club, Hamden, and the Ham-Del Craft Club.

Surviving are three daughters, Lois and Bill McDonald of Hamden, Edith Conklin of Wilmington, N.C., and Linda and George Fowlston of Cary, N.C., (with whom Ethel had been staying since last month); three sons, Jacob "Jake" and Winnie Bryden of Delhi, Harold and Chris Bryden of New Berlin and Roscoe Bryden and his companion, Bunnie Rogers, of DeLancey; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Roscoe and Harry Smith.

Friends are invited to call at their convenience at the Hall & Peet Funeral Home, Delhi, where the family will be in attendance from 7-9 p.m. tonight. Funeral and committal services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, by the Rev. Paul R. Meisel, pastor of the Delhi Community Church, and burial will be later in the Woodland Cemetery, Delhi.

Memorial contributions may be made to Delhi Fire Department EMS.

Arrangements are entrusted to Robert A. Peet, Delhi.

Martha A. Smith
MALVERN, Pa. — Mrs. E. Dayton (Martha A.) Smith, 94, of Malvern, Pa., and formerly of Laurens and Oneonta, died Friday morning, Jan. 8, 1999, at the Mainline Adult Home, Malvern, Pa.

She was born Nov. 27, 1904, in Cannonsville, Delaware County, the daughter of Ernest and Katherine (Axtell) Boyd.

Martha married E. Dayton Smith on July 20, 1940, in Elkton, Md. He died June 25, 1978.

Martha had been the co-owner and operator of the former Smith's Photo Service with her husband, which had been located at Wall and South Main streets in Oneonta for several years. She was a resident of Laurens from 1973 until 1995, when she moved to  Pennsylvania. Martha was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, where she was also in charge of the nursery for many years.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Clifford Hoffman of Exton, Pa.; a sister, Barbara Mattison of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Mrs. David (Julie) Armstrong of Coatesville, Pa., Brian Hoffman of Portland, Ore., and Clifford Hoffman of Brooklyn; and two great-grandchildren, Amanda and Emily Armstrong.

Funeral and committal services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta, with the Rev. C. Norman Moran, area director of C.B. In"-ternational, Oneonta.

Mrs. Smith will be placed in the Bookhout Funeral Home private vault to await spring interment in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta, on Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, when the family will be present at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be given to the Main Street Baptist Church for children's programs in memory of Martha A. Smith.

Funeral arrangements are by the Bookhout Funeral Homes, Oneonta and Otego.
