KENNETH K. YOUNG

Kenneth K. Young, age 78, of Lake Clear, NY, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at his home.

Born in Malius, New York on November 16, 1924, he was the son of William and Pearl (Combs) Young.

He is survived by his wife Norma of Lake Clear, NY, and one son: William Young of Lake Clear, NY.

Calling hours will be at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Masonic Service will take place at 7:30pm Friday. Masons are asked to meet at the funeral home at 7:15pm. A Funeral Service will take place at 2pm on Saturday at the Adirondack Presbyterian Church in Lake Clear with Reverend Arthur B. Goyette officiating. Burial will be in the Harrietstown Cemetery in Saranac Lake in May.

ALBERT H. WHIPPS

Albert H. Whipps, age 55, of 142 Main Street, Saranac Lake, died Thursday, March 6, 2003 at Adirondack Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Whipps is survived by his father: Albert H. Whipps of Manhattan, NY, one sister: Elizabeth V. Whipps and her companion Rick Sica of Saranac Lake, NY, one nephew: Richard A. Whipps of Richmond, VA, two uncles, an aunt, and several cousins in the NYC area. He was predeceased by his mother: Elizabeth  Jackson Whipps of Saranac Lake in 1981 and an uncle: Lawrence  Jackson of Saranac Lake and Lake Placid in 1992.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Saranac Lake in May.

FRANCES REYNOLDS WILKINS

Frances Reynolds Wilkins, 90, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2003 at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid. She was born in Lake Placid, February 22, 1913, the daughter of Steven and Nora (Ripley) Reynolds. Her husband, Clyde Wilkins, died in Lake Placid April 7, 1993.

She is survived by a nephew: Charles Reynolds of Saranac Lake and a great-niece: Tina Leonard and her husband Joe, and Pam Lavery and her husband Charles, all of Lake Placid. Several other great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

Friends are invited to call at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid Tuesday, March 11, 2003 from 5pm to 7pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 7pm at the funeral home. Reverend Douglas Cox, Pastor of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Lake Placid, will officiate. Burial will be in North Elba Cemetery in May.

WILLIAM A. GOSS

William A. Goss, age 71, of Ray Brook, died Monday, March 10, 2003 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in East Orange, New Jersey on January 12, 1932, he was the son of William and Martha (York) Goss.

He is survived by his wife, the former Priscilla Mackay, whom he married November 22, 1981, two sons: Gregory Goss of East Greenbush, NY and Gary Goss of New Jersey, and a daughter: Ruth Tummey of Barnegat, New Jersey.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at 1pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Saranac Lake with Reverend Linda Drew officiating.

Friends wishing to remember Mr. Goss may make memorial contributions to Adirondack Medical Center in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home.

ALBERT H. WHIPPS

Albert H. Whipps, age 55, of 142 Main Street, Saranac Lake, died Thursday, March 6, 2003 at Adirondack Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

BLANCHE MARIE BRICKEY

Blanche M. Brickey, 84, of Mountain View Avenue, Tupper Lake, died at her home Saturday, March 8, 2003. She was with care from High Peaks Hospice.

Surviving are her six sons: Denis Asa and Aletha, Gary Evan and Jeannie of Tupper Lake, Elroy Wesley and Barb of Florida, Francis Armand (PeeWee) and Jeannie of California, Allen Andre and Beverly of  Texas and Ronald Jon and Jeanine of Connecticut, and a daughter: Cathy Jane Connell of  Texas, twenty-six grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was also predeceased by an infant daughter: Karen Kathleen and her two brothers: her twin, Adrien, and Armand Denis.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at the Richer Funeral Home in Tupper Lake from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 10am at St. Alphonsus Church with Father Donald Kramberg officiating. A reception at the VFW will follow the Mass. Burial at St. Alphonsus Cemetery will be in May.

Donations in Blanche's memory may be made to the Adirondack Council, Boy Scouts of America or your local hospice.

BEULAH R. ST. LOUIS

Beulah R. St. Louis, 83, of 23 McCarthy Street, Tupper Lake, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at her home following a long illness. Born on June 18, 1919 in Tupper Lake, she was the daughter of Samuel and Bertha (Rodgers) Drew.

Mrs. St. Louis married Roy J. St. Louis on January 17, 1942. He died on May 16, 1976. She is survived by two sons: Dale and his wife Rosemary of Lugoff, S.C., Shayne and his wife Cindy of Tupper Lake, two daughters: Mrs. Joel (Roxanne) Soucy of Tupper Lake, Mrs. Jerry (Colleen) Mortoratti of Long Island, one daughter-in-law: Mrs. Roger (Barbara) St. Louis, 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one sister: Odie Otis of Harvegarce, MD. She was predeceased by her husband, one son Roger, in 1990, three brothers: Irvie, Forrest and Lyle, two sisters: Dorothy Savard and Ora Pickering.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 12, from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the United Community Church with the Reverend Jan Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in May. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the United Community Church.

CHARLES F. (BEANER) WHITE

Charles F. (Beaner)  White, 64, of 48 Pine Street, Lake Placid passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. He was born in Lake Placid, NY on November 12, 1938, the son of Francis and Grace (LaFountain)  White. Beaner married the former Betty Ebeling at St. Agnes Church in 1958.

He is survived by his wife Betty of Lake Placid. He is also survived by two daughters: Cheri Daby and Christina Carlson and her husband Olaf, all of Lake Placid, and one son: Charles (Chuck)  White of Skaneatelas, NY. He is also survived by one sister: Yvonne Gadway and her husband Richard of Lady Lake, FL, three grandchildren: Tyler Daby, Kelsey  White and Kalie  White. Mr.  White is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A sister Rita R. Gauda of Buffalo died earlier.

Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid on Wednesday, March 12, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Bible Vigil Service will be held Wednesday at 8:30pm at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 10am at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. Father Michael Gaffney, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in May. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations in his memory to High Peaks Hospice, P.O. Box 840, Saranac Lake, NY 12983.

CLAIRE BEEBE WANTY

Claire Beebe Wanty, age 90, formerly of 30 Greenwood Avenue, Lake Placid, died Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at Uihlein Mercy Center, Lake Placid.

Born in Staten Island, New York on August 27, 1912, she was the daughter of Alonzo and Emma (Wood) Beebe.

Mrs. Wanty was married to Edward D. Wanty on July 15, 1929 in Staten Island. He predeceased her in 1974. She is survived by a son: Douglas Wanty of Las Vegas, NV, a daughter and son-in-law: Carol and Richard Grebe of Saranac Lake, three grandsons: David Grebe and his wife Polly of Petersburg, AK, John Grebe and his wife Denise of Flushing, NY and Robert Grebe of Saranac Lake, a granddaughter: Diane Wanty, three great-grandsons: Guy Grebe of Petersburg, AK, and Ryan and Travis Grebe of Flushing, NY, a sister: Evelyn B. Wanty of North Brook, IL, and a niece: Lynne W. Ritchie of Lincolnshire, IL.

Friends may call from 1-2pm Saturday at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. The funeral service will follow at 2pm at the funeral home with Reverend Andrea Sears, Pastor of the Bloomingdale Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at the Moravian Cemetery in Staten Island on Monday at 2pm.

DOROTHY A. WHITE

Dorothy A.  White, age 94, formerly of Bloomingdale, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid.

Born in Roseland, New Jersey on July 18, 1908, she was the daughter of Mayroe and Bertha (Brickman) Simpson.

She is survived by four grandchildren: Cheryl Ann  White of Cortland, NY, Patrick  White of California, Gary  White of Beacon, NY, and Lisa  White of New Paltz, NY, four brothers: August Simpson of Bloomingdale, NY, Charles Simpson of Rochester, NY, Edward Simpson of Pompano Beach, FL, and William Simpson of Malone, NY, two sisters: Bertha Dwyer of Springwater, NY and Alice Hoog of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Rolland in 1939, a son Dexter and a sister Ellen Hayes.

A graveside service will be held at Brookside Cemetery in the spring.

REVEREND SUNNY POK-HO OEY

Reverend Sunny Pok-Ho Oey, 69, died March 18, 2003, at his home.

He was born on Sunday, October 29, 1933, the son of Reverend Oey Eng Hoat and Tjoa Soan Nio in Tasikmalaya, West Java, Indonesia.

Reverend Oey taught psychology and sociology at North Country Community College and Paul Smiths College. After retiring from Paul Smiths College in 1994, he served churches in Indonesia and taught theology at his alma mater in Jakarta, Indonesia.

On February 18, 1961, he married Arliene Esther Cotton at McCormick Theological Seminary Chapel in Chicago, Illinois. She survives.

He is also survived by four children and their spouses: Timothy and Pat Oey of Sunnyvale, California, Lydia Oey and Gordon Long of Oakland, California, Dr. Esther Oey and Dr. Tom Langen of Canton, NY, Rebecca Oey and Charles Machabee of Brushton, NY, three younger brothers: Benny Wiguna, Davy Wibisana and Johnny Wiharso of Bandung, Indonesia, six grandchildren: Tandre and Torion Oey, Xiomara Oey-Langen and Arthur, Paul and Alena Machabee.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two younger sisters: Elga Samudra and Lia Tumiwa.

A Memorial Service will take place Sunday, March 23, 2003 at 3pm at Centenary United Methodist Church in Malone. Internment will be in Morningside Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to North Country Habitat for Humanity c/o John Lawrence, P.O. Box 773, Malone, NY 12953.

Arrangements are with the Spaulding Funeral Home.

MARGUERITE M. GATES

Marguerite M. Gates, age 77, formerly of Neil Street, Saranac Lake, NY, died Friday, March 21, 2003 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MA.

Born in Hartford, Vermont on April 4, 1925, she was the daughter of Felix and Doris (Barnaby) Gates.

She is survived by one brother: Phillip Gates of Lake Clear, NY, four sisters: Dorothy Gillette of West Springfield, MA, Louisa Martin of Chicopee Falls, MA, Dora Bova of Saranac Lake, NY, and Gola Hearn of Warren, OH. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Felix Gates, and her mother, Doris Barnaby, four sisters: Mary, Elizabeth, Delia and Vina, and one brother, Arthur Gates.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, March 26, from 9:30am to 11:00am. A Mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at 11:15am on Wednesday at St. Bernard's Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake in May.

JOSEPH W. HOUGH

Joseph W. Hough, age 86, formerly of 67 Bloomingdale Avenue, Saranac Lake, died Saturday, March 22, 2003 at the Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid.

Born in Franklin Falls, New York on June 18, 1915, he was the son of William and Nora (O'Neill) Hough.

He is survived by one sister, Gladys Hough, of Saranac Lake, NY and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, William B. Hough, and his mother, Nora O'Neill, and one sister, Beulah Kenny.

Calling hours will take place on Monday, March 24, 2003 from 2-4pm at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Bible Vigil Service will take place at 3:45pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:15am on Tuesday at St. Bernard's Church. Burial will be at St. Paul's Cemetery in Bloomingdale in May.

SR. MARY MARGARITA RILEY

Sr. Mary Margarita Riley R.S.M., 91, passed away March 24, 2003 at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid where she resided since 1998. Sister was born in North Bangor, NY on August 27, 1911, the daughter of Thomas and Anna (McGowan) Riley. Sister's ministries included teaching in Brasher Falls, Saranac Lake, Rouses Point, Plattsburgh, Bronx and Keeseville. She came to St. Margaret's Convent in Lake Placid in 1973 serving as a receptionist and later as Physical Therapy Aide in Uihlein Mercy Center until 1998 when she became a resident of Uihlein Mercy Center.

Sister was one of nine children, four brothers: James, Lawrence, Peter and Msgr. Patrick Riley and four sisters: Elizabeth Curran, Genevieve David, Alice Riley and Sr. Mary Ursula R.S.M., all who have predeceased her. Sister is survived by three nieces: Mrs. Rita Hutchins of Brushton, Mrs. Patricia Finnigan of Keeseville, and Mrs. Genevieve Rucker of Vancouver, WA.

Friends may call at St. Margaret's Convent Library on Tuesday, March 25, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 26, at Uihlein Mercy Center Chapel. Reverend Patrick O'Reilly, Chaplain, will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Tupper Lake in May. Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements.

MARY AIMONE

Mary Aimone of 104 Main Street, Saranac Lake, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at Uihlein Mercy Center, Lake Placid.

Born in Bloomingdale, New York, she was the daughter of Denton and Florence (Curran) Hayes.

She is survived by two nephews: Robert Muncil of Indialantic, FL, and Benjamin Muncil of Dataw Island, SC, three nieces: Eleanor Aimone of Rhinebeck, NY, Eliz Muncil Cord of Glen Mills, PA and Kathy Lewis of Saranac Lake.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held Friday at 2pm at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home with Reverend Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery, Bloomingdale, in May.

PAULINE M. MEAGHER

Pauline M. Meagher, age 82, of Rainbow Lake Road, Gabriels, died Saturday, May 31, 2003 at her home.

Born in Rainbow Lake, New York on September 3, 1920, she was the daughter of John and Jennie (Boswell) Rochester.

She is survived by two sons: Neil Meagher and his wife Christina of Black River, NY, and Richard Meagher and his wife Patricia of Lake Clear, two granddaughters: Jennifer Meagher and Amy Meagher, both of Saranac Lake, three grandsons: Michael Meagher and Matthew Meagher, both of Black River, NY, and David Grimm and his wife Lisa of Fort Bragg, NC, two nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband Neil Meagher on May 9, 1999, her twin brother Paul Rochester, and her sisters: Marian and Jane died in infancy.

The Funeral Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Brighton Cemetery, Gabriels, NY.

DANA CORNEAU

An interment service for Dana A. Corneau, who died on January 26, will be held on Saturday, June 7, at 1pm at St. Alphonsus Cemetery with full military honors. Arrangements are with the Fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home in Tupper Lake.

DOROTHY WHITE

Interment services for Dorothy  White, who died March 18, 2003, will be held Tuesday, June 3, at 11am at Brookside Cemetery, Bloomingdale. Reverend Linda McIntyre and Reverend Andrea Sears will officiate. The Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake is in charge of arrangements.
