LINDA RASMUSSEN

Linda Gail Rasmussen, 48, passed away January 26, 2004 at her home on Newcomb Road in Long Lake, NY.

Born February 16, 1955 in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of John J. and Arleen D. (Seals) Sachs.

On September 17, 1994, she and Paul B. Rasmussen were married at the Adirondack Hotel in Long Lake.

She is survived by her husband Paul Rasmussen of Long Lake; her father: John J. Sachs of Largo, FL; two sisters: Sharon and her husband Christopher Mageean of Newfoundland, NJ; two brothers: Robert Sachs and his wife Karen of New Jersey and Thomas Sachs and his wife Beth of Califon, NJ, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rasmussen was predeceased by her mother Arleen and one brother, John J. Sachs III.

Calling hours will be held from 6pm to 8pnm at St. Henry's Church Wednesday, January 28th. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, January 29, at 11am at St. Henry's Church in Long Lake, NY with Father Peter Berg officiating.

Donations may be considered to High Peaks Hospice and St. Henry's Church in memory of Linda Rasmussen in care of the Richer Funeral Home, 29 Park Street, Tupper Lake, NY 12986.

STANLEY "SPARKY" OHMANN

Stanley "Sparky" Ohmann, age 78, of Lake Clear, died Friday, January 30, 2004 at home.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on November 27, 1925, he was the son of Joseph and Phoebe (Betters) Ohmann.

He married Kathleen Minney on January 30, 1951. She predeceased him on February 6, 1992.

He is survived by one daughter: Bonnie Ohmann of Marblehead, MA; one brother: Raymond Ohmann and his wife Hally of Saranac Lake, NY; two cousins: Delores Kniskern of Albany, NY, and Mignon Kniskern of Florida, FL; two sisters-in-law: Marguerite Reyome of Saranac Lake, NY, and Hazel Strack of Ticonderoga, NY; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers: William and Joseph Ohmann.

Calling hours will be held at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Elks Service will take place at 8pm on Monday immediately followed by a Bible Vigil Service. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am on Tuesday at St. John's Church in Lake Clear, with Reverend Kevin McEwan officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Lake Clear in May.

Friends wishing to remember Stanley "Sparky" Ohmann may make memorial contributions to High Peaks Hospice or Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad in care of the funeral home.

MAGDALENA LAMMANN

Magdalena Lammann, 78, of Averyville Road, Lake Placid, NY, died at her home with her family at her side. She was born in Vukovar, Yugoslavia on March 16, 1925, the daughter of Josef and Katherina Kifner. She was predeceased by her parents: Josef and Katherina Kifner, and brothers: Josef and Anton.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years: Sebastian Lammann of Lake Placid, NY; a son and daughter-in-law: Stephen and Karen Lammann of Manasquaw, NJ; granddaughters: Nicole Lammann of New York City, NY and Amelia Lammann of Manasquaw, NJ, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid on Tuesday, February 3, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 4, at 11am at the Clark Funeral Home. Reverend John V. Matern, Pastor of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, will officiate. Burial will follow in North Elba Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations may be made to High Peaks Hospice in her memory.

LETA R. MORGAN

Leta R. Morgan, 78, of Springfield Road, Wilmington, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2004 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Leta was born in Wilmington, NY on March 20, 1925, the daughter of Charles E. and Nina (Hathaway) Farrell.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by her husband: Stuart Morgan of Wilmington, NY; one daughter: Darlene N. Walker and her husband Brian of Fairport, NY; two sons: Gary R. Morgan and his wife Tracy of Naples, FL and Charles S. Morgan of Avon, NY; one brother: Duane Farrell of Fulton, NY; four grandchildren: Kimberly Finch-Dominy of Delray Beach, FL, Dylan S. Morgan of Naples, NY, Elizabeth Morgan of Avon, NY, and Kelly Morgan of Avon, NY; a nephew and nieces: Curtis Farrell and Tia Farrell, both of Virginia.

Friends are invited to call at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid on Monday, February 2, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 3, at 11am at the Wilmington Church of the Nazarene in Wilmington, NY. Pastor Martin J. Bausman will officiate. The family suggests donations in Leta's memory be made to the Wilmington Rescue Squad.

MARGARET HELENE SEPTER

Margaret Helene September, age 99, formerly of 33 Olive Street, Saranac Lake, died Friday, February 7, 2004 at Adirondack Medical Center in Lake Placid.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on June 11, 1904, she was the daughter of Joseph and Susie (Pettinger) LaVallee.

Mrs. Septer is survived by a son: Richard Septer and his wife Joanne of Marietta, GA; a daughter: Nancy James of Saranac Lake; five grandchildren: Kim Adams and her husband Leon of Marietta, GA, Patricia Septer of Powder Springs, GA, Vernon James and his fiancé Angela Reome of Saranac Lake, and Susan James of Plattsburgh, NY; seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 1952, her son Donald Septer, her six brothers: Lawrence LaVallee, Harold LaVallee, Earl LaVallee, Francis LaVallee, James LaVallee and George LaVallee, and three sisters: Irene Bruso, Mary LaVallee and Virginia Donovan.

Visitation will be held at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake from 4-7pm on Thursday. A Bible vigil will be held at 4:30pm on Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held February 13, 2004 at 11:15am at St. Bernard's Church with Father Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will be at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake in May.

Friends wishing to remember Mrs. Septer may make memorial contributions to the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad or Uihlein Mercy Center in care of the funeral home.

WALTER NESSENTHALER

Walter Nessenthaler, 70, of Lake Street, Saranac Lake, passed away Friday, February 6, 2004 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in Brooklyn, New York in March of 1933, he was the son of the late John and Helen Nessenthaler.

He is survived by his two daughters: Helene and Karen Nessenthaler, both of Saranac Lake; his sister: Dorothy Murphy of  Pennsylvania, and several nieces and nephews. Walter was predeceased by his wife Ellie Nessenthaler in 1995.

There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held in May at the Harrietstown Cemetery in Saranac Lake.

Friends wishing to remember Mr. Nessenthaler may make memorial contributions to the Tri-Lakes Humane Society or VFW Memorial Fund in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake.

WILLIAM OLIVER

Word has been received of the death of William Oliver, age 94, of the Fletcher Farm Road, Vermontville, NY, who died Thursday, February 12, 2004 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Calling hours are tentatively set to take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2pm to 5pm. A Bible Vigil Service will take place at 4:45pm Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Monday, February 16, 2004 at St. Paul's Church in Bloomingdale, with Reverend Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. A complete obituary will be available on Saturday.

ROBERT JOHN REYELL

Robert Joseph Reyell of Dunedin, FL and Saranac Lake, NY died peacefully Monday, February 9, 2003 at his home in Dunedin.

Born March 12, 1928 in Saranac Lake, NY, he was the son of Alfred J. and Florence Delcore Reyell.

He married Halsey Myers on September 12, 1953.

Robert is survived by his wife of 50 years, Halsey Myers Reyell of Dunedin, FL and Saranac Lake, NY; two sons: Robert Halsey and his wife Joan Kaestle Reyell and Jeffrey Thomas and his wife Carole Boutilier Reyell of Saranac Lake, NY; two daughters: Renee Reyell Lee of Palm Harbor, FL and Carole Reyell Fernandez and her husband Leo Fernandez of Land O' Lakes, FL; and five grandchildren: Kassandra, Kaitlyn, Kurt, Lisa and Lexi.

There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 21, at 8pm at Curlew Hills Memorial Gardens-Dunedin, FL.

A Memorial Service to be held in the spring will be announced when the family reunites in Saranac Lake.

Donations may be considered to The Hospice of the Suncoast, 300 East Bay Drive, Largo, FL 33770.

ROBERT H. FOLSOM

Robert H. Folsom, age 71, of Overlook Apartments, Bloomingdale, NY, died Saturday, February 14, 2004 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in Saranac Lake, NY on June 30, 1932, he was the son of Carl and Sabra (Reyome) Folsom. He married Linda Murray on November 22, 1963 in St. Paul's Church, Bloomingdale, NY.

He is survived by his wife Linda of North Lawrence, NY; one daughter: Bobbi Russell of North Lawrence, NY; one son: David Folsom of Ogdensburg, NY; four grandchildren: Dennis Murray, Brittnay Kerr, Katie Russell and Kristopher David Folsom. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Edna Lawless and Venoma Weston.

Calling hours will be held at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. in Saranac Lake on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Firemen's Prayer Service will take place Tuesday at the funeral home at 8pm. A Bible Vigil Service will immediately follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Wednesday at St. Paul's Church in Bloomingdale, NY with Reverend Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Following cremation, burial will be at St. Paul's Cemetery in Bloomingdale in May.

Friends wishing to remember Robert H. Folsom may make memorial contributions to the Bloomingdale Volunteer Fire Department or Bloomingdale Boosters Youth Program in care of the funeral home.

JEAN MARIE GODIN

Jean Marie Godin, 69, of 15 Church Street, Tupper Lake, NY, died Saturday, February 14, 2004 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born on March 9, 1934 in Tupper Lake, NY, she was the daughter of Frank and Marian (Prespare) Godin.

She is survived by one sister and brother-in-law: Theresa and Timothy Madore of Malone, NY; six brothers and sisters-in-law: Richard and his wife Jerry of Tupper Lake, NY, Bob and his wife Connie of Tupper Lake, NY, Chuck and his wife Kilnore of Tupper Lake, NY, Maurice and his wife Cecile of Long Lake, NY, John and his wife Millie of Kansas, Jim and his wife Deanne of Lithia, FL. She is also survived by one sister-in-law: Mrs. Hubert (Marie) Godin of Tupper Lake, NY; several nieces and nephews; and two beloved friends: George and Carol Staves of Tupper Lake who helped her family throughout her illness. She was predeceased by three brothers: Joseph, Donald and Hubert Godin.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home in Tupper Lake, NY on Monday, February 16, 2004 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10am on Tuesday at St. Alphonsus Church in Tupper Lake with Reverend Donald Kramberg officiating. Interment will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Tupper Lake in May.

Friends wishing to remember her may make memorial contributions to the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad or Hospice of the North Country in care of the funeral home.

LORRAINE LOUISE RICHER

Mrs. Roland Richer, 82, of Park Street, Tupper Lake, died Saturday, February 14, 2004 at her home in Tupper Lake in care of her family and High Peaks Hospice.

She was born November 30, 1921 in Tupper Lake, the youngest of 13 children born to Joseph and Louise (Savard) Paiement.

On November 20, 1943, she and Roland Richer of Tupper Lake were married by Father Finnegan at Holy Name Church.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years; a son: James and his wife Carol of Tupper Lake; two daughters: Catherine and her husband Jack Gordon of Skaneateles, NY, and Laurie and her husband Stewart Amell of North Syracuse, NY; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held Monday, February 16, 2004 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Richer Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Alphonsus Church on Tuesday at noon with Father Donald Kramberg officiating. Graveside services will be held in the spring.

Memorials may be made to High Peaks Hospice or any other local cause.

JENNIE CAMPBELL MCCALVIN

Jennie Campbell McCalvin, 81, of Spring Street, Lake Placid, NY, passed away at her home February 21, 2004. She was born in Findlay, Ontario on April 24, 1922 the daughter of William and Elisa (Baillie) Campbell.

Mrs. McCalvin is survived by four sons: Ronald E. McCalvin and his wife Pamela of Bantam, CT, Richard M. McCalvin and his wife Arlene of Bloomingdale, NY, William H. McCalvin of Lake Placid, NY and Robert J. McCalvin of Lake Placid, NY. She is also survived by one daughter: Kim McCalvin of Schuyler Falls, NY; six grandchildren: Desire L. Draper, Jenni L. Outcalt, Terri L. Fernia, Victoria S. McCalvin, Ronald E. McCalvin, Jr. and Reid R. McCalvin. A granddaughter, Mindy Ann Outcalt, died earlier.

There are no calling hours. A Private Service will be held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests friends wishing to remember Jennie make donations in her memory to High Peaks Hospice, P.O. Box 840, Saranac Lake, NY 12983-0840.

SADIE SABRE

Sadie Sabre, 86, of Piercefield, died Friday, February 20, 2004, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Born on August 23 ,1917 in Unity, NH, she was the daughter of Oscar Hudson Tredo and Viola Ines Rogers.

On May 20, 1937, she married Lawrence Sabre in Potsdam. He died on July 12, 1997 after 60 years of marriage.

She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Wendy Hummel of Piercefield, Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Roscoe of Piercefield and Zepher Hills, FL, and Mrs. Arthur (Joanne) Benware of Evans Mills, NY; She is also survived by two sons: Mr. Jerry Sabre and his wife Kathy of Elizabeth City, NC, and Mr. Raymond Sabre and his wife Margaret Ann of Dexter. She has 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one niece: Mrs. Phillip (Sharon) Petters of Kingston, NY. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence, her son Thomas Sabre and sister Viola Beaudin.

A Memorial Service will be held in May at the Gale Cemetery in Childwold, NY. Arrangements are with the fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home, Inc. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tupper Lake volunteer Rescue Squad or the Piercefield Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary in care of the funeral home.

DAVID B. JACKSON

David B. Jackson, age 54, of 177 Neil Street, Saranac Lake, died Saturday, February 21, 2004 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, VT.

Born in Summit, New Jersey on October 16, 1949, he was the son of Davis and Harriet (Bergen) Jackson.

He is survived by a daughter: Karina  Jackson of  Washington, DC; two sons: Trevor  Jackson and Timothy Jackson, both of Saranac Lake; his mother: Harriet  Jackson of Saranac Lake; a brother: John  Jackson of West Easton, PA; a sister: Charlotte  Jackson of Owasso, OK; and two nieces: Emily  Jackson and Laura Jackson.

There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, February 27, 2004 at 5pm at the Church of St. Luke the Beloved Physician with Father Fredrick Dennis officiating. Interment will be in Brighton Cemetery, Gabriels, in May.

Friends wishing to remember Mr.  Jackson may make memorial contributions to Habitat for Humanity in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake.

JOSEPH RICHER

Joseph "Hervie" Richer, 75, of Cutting Road in Elizabethtown, died Saturday, February 21, 2004 at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital.

He was born January 4, 1929 in Tupper Lake, the son of Albert and Cecile (Brunet) Richer.

One June 17, 1973, he married his second wife, Sheila Denton, in Elizabethtown.

Hervie is survived by his wife Sheila; four daughters: Mary Richer and her partner Gail Smith of Tupper Lake, Marilyn Benware and her husband Charles of South Glens Falls, Elizabeth Forsell and her husband Mark of Raquette Lake and Cecile Bush and her husband Randy of Long Lake; seven grandchildren: Johanna and Ethan Bush, Kathryn, Jennifer and Amanda Forsell and Bridget and Heather Benware; one sister: Rita Cummings of Mattydale; three brothers: Rolland and Arthur Richer of Tupper Lake and Leonard Richer of Syracuse; his first wife, Margaret Jennings Jonasch of Long Lake; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9pm Tuesday at the Richer Funeral Home in Tupper Lake and from 2-4 and 7-9pm Wednesday at W.M. Marvins Sons Funeral Home, 7521 Court Street, Elizabethtown. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:15am Thursday at W.M. Marvins Sons. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Elizabethtown in the spring.

Donations in Hervie's memory may be made to the Elizabethtown-Lewis Ambulance Squad, Elizabethtown, NY 12932.

DELIMA ALMA JONES

Delima Alma Jones, 91, of Lafayette Street, Tupper Lake, died Sunday, February 22, 2004 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. She had recently resided at Mercy Health Care in Tupper Lake.

She was born August 26, 1912 at Wolf Pond, the daughter of Myers and Evelin (Pelkey) Oshier.

On October 25, 1930, she and John Hubert  Jones of Moira, NY, were married at St. Alphonsus Church by Father Hervieux.

Surviving are her son: Robert of Tupper Lake; two grandsons: Christopher  Jones of Western, NY and Robert and his wife Christine of Cadyville; a great grandson: Alex  Jones of Tupper Lake; and a sister: Mildred Boyer of Oceanside, CA.

Mr.  Jones died in 1972. Also predeceasing Mrs.  Jones was an infant twin sister; a brother: Edward Oshier; and a special cousin: Lila Clark.

Calling hours will be at the Richer Funeral Home in Tupper Lake on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Name Church on Thursday at 11am. Burial will be in May in Holy Name Cemetery. Memorials in Mrs.  Jones name may be made to Holy Name Church.
