Anthony “Butch” Boucher, 55, of Park Street, Tupper Lake died unexpectedly at his home Friday evening February 17, 2006. He was born January 18, 1951 in Tupper Lake the son of Clifford and Patricia (Manning) Boucher. “Butch” completed his education at the Tupper Lake High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War. On September 27, 1975 he and Donna Reandeau of Tupper Lake were married at St. Alphonsus Church. They had always made their home in Tupper Lake. Butch had worked for the Village of Tupper Lake for over 20-years and for a while with the Tupper Lake School system. Most recently he enjoyed driving for Suburban Energy. He enjoyed working on his home and property and spending time with his grandson and family. He is survived by his wife, his father of Sinclair, Maine, two sons, Marc Anthony and Shawn Michael and one grandson Joshua Boucher all of Tupper Lake, two sisters, Nancy Gonyea of Tupper Lake and Jane Lynch and her husband Clifford, and one brother Tom of St. Petersburg, Florida. He was predeceased by his mother and his brother Jim. Calling hours will be held Sunday, February 19, 2006 at the Richer Funeral Home from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. A funeral mass will be held Monday, February 20 at 11am at St. Alphonsus Church. Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in May. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad.

Mathias Nadeau, 83, of Tupper Lake died Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at Mercy Healthcare Center where he had resided since February, 2005. Born on February 23, 1922 in St. Leon, Quebec he was the son of Joseph and Marie (Bouffard) Nadeau. On September 10, 1947 he married the former Laurette Fournier in St. Leon. They moved to Tupper Lake in 1956. Mr. Nadeau worked in the lumber industry from 1954 to 1961. He worked in the Syracuse, Buffalo, and Rochester areas clearing for power lines. For a short time he worked for the International Paper Company and Finch-Pruyn Company in Newcomb. In 1961 he and his wife purchased the Waverly Hotel, a prominent landmark in Tupper Lake and a favorite haunt for local loggers. They operated the business until 1983, when it was destroyed by fire. Mr. Nadeau continued working for the Town of Altamont as a chairlift operator in the winter and as a member of the highway crew in the summer months. He also worked briefly as a foster grandparent at Sunmount DDSO. He is survived by his wife of 58-years, three sons, Gerald and his wife Mary of Long Island, Bernard of Dannemora, Christian of Watertown, one daughter, Chantel Skiff of Tupper Lake, eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, four sisters, Cecile Nadeau, Pauline St. Hilaire and her husband Raymond of St. Leon, Quebec, Claire Brousseau of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Marie and her husband Ovila Ross of September Isles, Quebec, and one brother Maurice of Manchester, New Hampshire. Also surviving him are sisters-in-law Georgette and her husband Jean-Marie, and Raymonde and her husband Lucien Roberge of St. Leon, Quebec. He was pre-deceased by one daughter, Sylvie, sisters, Denise Corriveau, Ida St. Hilaire, Yvonne, Henriette, and Annette, his brothers Andre, Ernest, and Stanlislaus all of St. Leon, Quebec and Albert of Sorel, Quebec. Calling hours will be held Friday, February 17, 2006 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at the Fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday at 11am at St. Alphonsus Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in May. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Mercy Healthcare Center.

Janette (Perry) DeLoria, 89, former resident of Lake Placid passed away peacefully February 9, 2006 while at home with her family. Born in Lake Placid September 25, 1915 the daughter of the late Wallace and Ollie (Goucher) Perry. She lived with her late aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Roberto of Lake Placid, owners of Roberto's Ladies Apparel where she helped manage the store. She was the niece of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fay. She was a graduate of lake Placid High School and Albany Business College. Janette resided in Lake Placid until the 1940's at which time she and her husband David, also from lake Placid, moved to Syracuse. During her time in Lake Placid Janette enjoyed being an active member of her community and was especially involved with the Adirondack Community Church. Janette had a lifelong interest in music. She was an accomplished pianist and flutist and shared her musical talent by serving as musical director of Bernards Bay Methodist Church for several years and most recently pianist for the Port Byron Federated Church. She also worked at the Princeton University Music Store for several years. She is survived by her husband David DeLoria, her beloved husband of 63 years. She was the cherished mother of Peggy Judd of Yaphank, New York, and David DeLoria of Livonia, New York. She was a devoted grandmother of Michael and Paul DeLoria of Livonia and loving great grandmother to Kaitlin and Kevin. She is also survived by several nephews, several great nephews and great nieces. She will be dearly missed by those who loved her. There will be no calling hours. A private Graveside Service will be held with burial in the family plot in North Elba Cemetery Saturday, February 18, 2006. Reverend Mark Demers, Pastor of the Adirondack Community Church will officiate. The Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 18, 2006 for Richard Mullen, who died Thursday in Capitola. He was 90. Born and raised in Saranac Lake, Mr. Mullen moved to Santa Cruz in 1991 upon the passing of his wife, to live with his daughter and son-in-law Patrice and Robert Keet. Mr. Mullen was the youngest of four children and graduated from Saranac lake High School and Colgate University and attended Case Western Reserve University. He was a lieutenant in the Navy and served in the Pacific during World War II as a supply officer. After the Navy Mr. Mullen returned to Saranac Lake where he married his high school sweetheart Eleanor LaValle, and managed his family's well-known grocery store, the Saranac Lake Supply for 30-years. Following the sale of the store he worked for the Housing and Urban Development Program where he served underprivileged families. He enjoyed playing bridge, oil painting, and especially enjoyed his devoted friends in his Aptos poker group ands had been a member of Rotary. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his gentile, sweet nature, the twinkle in his eye and his enthusiasm for life. Mr. Mullen is survived by his sister Mildred Mahan of Richmond, Virginia, brother Bernard Mullen of Keene, daughter and son-in-law Patrice and Robert Keet of Aptos, daughter Kathleen Schneck of Saranac Lake, grandchildren Richard and Amanda Schneck, and Corrine and Kevin Keet. A memorial gathering will be held at 2pm., February 18, 2006 at the home of Bonnie and Glen Keet at 3130 North Main Street in Soquel. A memorial service will be held in Saranac Lake in the spring. Contributions to the Richard Mullen Scholarship Fund of North Country Community College, c/o President Gail Rice, P.O. Box 89, Saranac Lake, NY 12983-0089 are preferred in lieu of flowers.

Ellen May Gensel, 81, of Conifer, New York passed away unexpectedly at her home Thursday, February 9, 2006. She was born December 16, 1924 in Conifer, the daughter of Paul Edger and Lucile Agatha Shaffer. She grew up in Conifer and attended Conifer School until tenth grade. She graduated Tupper Lake High School in 1942. For several years she worked at her Aunt and Uncle’s Conifer Inn. On June 14, 1947 she and Garnet “Gump” Gensel were married in the Methodist Chapel of the Conifer School House. They made their home and raised their family at Lake Luzerne. Ellen was an old fashioned homemaker active with her church, PTA, and Girl Scouts. She was a staunch Democrat working with her community election board. Mr. and Mrs. Gensel retired home to Conifer in 1981. At Conifer Mrs. Gensel loved to bake, garden, feed the birds, and be visited by her family especially her grand and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 58-years, three daughters, Susan Mae Corrigan and her husband Thomas of Queensbury, Sally J. Deuel and her husband Ken of Lake Luzerne, and Stacey Gensel of Conifer, five grandchildren, Maureen Lanfear of Hadley, New York, Sean Corrigan and his wife Melissa of Conifer, Sonja Guilder and her husband AJ of Hadley, New York, Paul Deuel and his wife Tara of Lake Luzerne, and Kenny “Gump” Deuel and his fiancé Wendy Fuller of Lake Luzerne. Also eight great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Patrick, Kara, Paul, Keaton, Kier, Jessica, Alivia, and two brothers Sid Thomas and his wife Tess of Stillwater, New York and Merve Thomas and his wife Joyce of Conifer. Friends may call at the Richer Funeral Home on Monday, February 13, 2006 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday February 14 at 11am. Stanley Louis “Chub” Tarbox of Piercefield died unexpectedly at his home Friday, February 10, 2006. He was born February 12, 1932 in Piercefield the son of William Oscar and Lola Angeline (Hamilton) Tarbox. He attended elementary school in Piercefield and graduated Tupper Lake High School in 1950. As a young man Mr. Tarbox worked with Haywood Wakefield in Conifer. Her served honorably in the United States Army in Korea. He had always worked in the woods as a cutter for different jobbers and in several local sawmills. Chub loved to feed the birds and always kept a dog. For years he enjoyed league bowling. He loved to hunt and fish and kept a camp on a pond off the Conifer road. He is survived by his companion Barbara Russell Tarbox, and three sisters, Ruby Gilson of Syracuse, Gladys Hastings and her husband John of Ithaca, Lura LaVoie and her husband David of Central Square, one brother Jewett Tarbox and his wife Mabel of Long Lake, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Leon Tarbox, one sister Virginia Corrow, and a longtime companion Doris Hagenberger. Calling hours will be held at the Richer Funeral Home on Tuesday February 14, 2006 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. A prayer service will be held during calling hours at 8pm. Burial with full military honors will be held in Gale Cemetery on a date to be announced in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the Piercefield Fire Department in care of the funeral home.

Betty Marion Elizabeth Levitt, 81, of Lake Placid passed away Thursday, February 9, 2006 at Uihlein Mercy Center. She was born in Lake Placid in 1925, the daughter of Clarence and Violet (Bruce) Hare. She married George Levitt on April 3rd, 1948. He died in Lake Placid in 1989. Betty was a graduate of Lake Placid High School, Class of 1941 and returned to take a post graduate course in 1942. She worked as a telephone operator during World War II while waiting for her husband to come home from the army and had worked in Lake Placid at the Chalet and Lake Placid Drugs. Betty was an avid fisherman. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Beede and her husband Russ of Lake Placid; three sisters - Joyce Planty and her husband Leon, Judy Bova and her husband Ed, and Mary Jane Lawrence and her husband Phil, all of Lake Placid; four brothers Bruce Hare and his wife Helen of Wilmington, NY, George Hare and his wife Donna of Clifton Park, Thomas Hare and his wife Gloria of Tupper Lake and Richard Hare of Lake Placid. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 14 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February, 15th at the Clark Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the North Elba Cemetery. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Tupper Lake Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Squad.

Stephen W. Dechene, 72, of Tupper Lake died Friday, February 10, 2006 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Born in December, 1933 he was the son of Wilfred and Delia (Maybille) Dechene. Mr. Dechene attended local schools and then worked several years for his father's logging business. In 1964, he went on to work as a heavy equipment operator at Drapers Mill and later for TL Veneer retiring in 1990. In 1958, he married the former Elizabeth Papin at St. Alphonsus Church. She passed away in 1994. Mr. Dechene was an avid fisherman, enjoying fishing on the Racquette River. He is survived by four sons, Stephen Jr. and his wife Patricia of Easton, PA, Craig and his wife Mary of Buffalo, Glenn and his wife Suzanne of Tupper Lake, Robbie of Binghamton, two daughters, Joy and her husband Matthew Kasson of Saranac Lake, Penny Roberts of Fairfield, CA, eight grandchildren and four sisters. Friends may call at the Fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home in Tupper Lake on Wednesday, February 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus cemetery in May. Ella Brock Johnston Garrett Bringham, age 88, of Paul Smiths died Monday, January 16, 2006 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 2, 1917, she was the daughter of Robert and Katherine (Johnston) Garrett. Mrs. Bringham came to Upper St. Regis almost every summer of her life before moving here in 1959. She graduated from St. Luke’s Presbyterian in New York City and had been a registered nurse. She also worked and volunteered at the Adirondack Medical Center. Mrs. Bringham was known as a philanthropist. She is survived by a daughter, Katherine Bringham of Winter Park, Colorado, two grandchildren, Connor Reardon and Scott Reardon and a brother-in-law, John Bainbridge. She was preceded in death by her husband Morison in 1975, her father Robert Garrett, her mother Katherine Johnston, her son Lawrence Bringham, her brothers, Harrison, Johnston, and John Garrett, and her sisters, Katherine Bainbridge, Alice Philips, and Barbara Reed. Friends wishing to remember Mrs. Bringham may make memorial contributions to the Adirondack Medical Center, the North Country Community College Nursing Program, or the Episcopalian Disaster Relief Fund.

Mary Davis Kelly of Tupper Lake died Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at the Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid where she had resided this past month. She was born January 28, 1915 in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, the daughter of Asa James and Myra Louise (Killfoille) Davis. She grew up in Stockbridge, graduating from the local school. As a young lady she enjoyed playing basketball and skiing. On October 28, 1939 she and James Francis Kelly Jr. of Pittsfield, Massachusetts were married. They came to Tupper Lake to make their home in 1955. The couple raised their family on Piercefield Road at Kelly’s Farm. She enjoyed dealing with antiques and running T.K.’s Treasure Barn for many years in the 1960’s and 1970’s. More recently she lived on Park Street and enjoyed visitors and Meals on Wheels. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ellen Farr of Morganton, North Carolina, three sons, Shaun Kelly and his wife Jean of Manchester, Connecticut, Christopher Kelly and his wife Sylvia of Terryville Connecticut, and Jeffrey Kelly and his wife Kathy of Jamestown, New York, plus 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly. She was predeceased in death by her husband in 1984, a son Thomas in 1968, an infant son James F. Kelly III, a sister Constance VanAsse, and three brothers Larry, Jean, and Robert Davis. Friends may call on the Richer Funeral Home Friday, February 10 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. A funeral Mass will be held at 11am Saturday, February 11, 2006 at St. Alphonsus Church. Mary Rose Woodruff, age 80, of 64 Margaret Street, Saranac Lake, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, NC. Born in Churubusco, New York on October 29, 1925, she was the daughter of Raphael and Angeline (Boyea) Lamitie. She married William Russell Woodruff on July 4, 1942 in Saranac Lake. He predeceased her on August 28, 1997. Mrs. Woodruff was employed at the A & P in Saranac Lake for many years and was later employed at the American Village in Saranac Lake. Mrs. Woodruff volunteered at the St. Bernard's Thrift Shop for many years. She is survived by nine children Rolfe "Joe" Woodruff of Rouses Point, NY, Judith Duquette of Gabriels, NY, William Woodruff and his wife Kathy of Burlington, NC, Bonnie McIntyre and her husband Bob of Burlington, NC, Wayne Woodruff of Rouse Point, NY, Ronald Woodruff and his wife Sabrina of Tabernacle, NJ, Janet Varmette and her husband Terry of Saranac Lake, NY, Michael Woodruff and his wife Laurie of Saranac Lake, NY and Eric Woodruff of Saranac Lake, NY; ten brothers and sisters Franklin Lamitie, Calbert Lamitie, Roselba Daly, Leona Thomas, Urla Zoll, Joan Parkinson, Patricia Dragon, Joyce Muller, Sandra Muller, and Pamela Yeddo; 35 grandchildren, many, many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; four brothers and sisters Lester Woodruff, Madeline Young, infant brother Everett Lamitie, and her infant brother Haden Lamitie. Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. Robert Kevin Finn, age 80, of 153 Trudeau Rd., Saranac Lake, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Born in Saranac Lake, New York on October 25, 1925, he was the son of Richard and Mary (Maloney) Finn. A life-long resident of Saranac Lake Bob enlisted in the US Navy Air Force in 1944 at age 17. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He returned to Saranac Lake and graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1948. He married Patricia Mae Hesseltine on October 8, 1949. Bob was a linotype operator for Currier Press, Inc. for over 20 years and then worked for Barry & Wilson Printing until his retirement in 1991. He was an avid bowler and participated in local leagues for over 50 years. He was a member and past chief of the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad, a life member of the American Legion, Post 447, was a Pee Wee Hockey Coach, a member of the Saranac Lake Softball League, a member of the Lake Colby Sports Association and was a New York State licensed Guide and avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife: Patricia, of Saranac Lake, one son: Kevin Finn and wife Leah of Wilton, NY, four daughters: Karen Hennessy and husband Todd of Crown Point, NY, Kelly Barry and husband Larry of Lake Placid, Kimberly Rutledge of Saranac Lake and Kristin Finn of Saranac Lake, nine grandchildren: Todd Hennessy and wife Alison of Denver, CO, Kasey Hennessy of Saranac Lake, Craig Barry and wife Melissa of Saranac Lake, Christopher Barry and fiance Tonya of Lake Placid, Daniel Rutledge and wife Kelly of Saranac Lake, Amy Smith of Saranac Lake, Matthew Rutledge of Saranac Lake and Brooke and Devin Finn of Wilton, NY, six great-grandchildren, one brother: Roy Finn of Rochester, NY, one sister: Ruth Wilson of Fairport,NY and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Richard Finn, his mother Mary Maloney Finn, his brothers Francis, James, Raymond, John and Cortland Finn and three sisters: Lois Dutton, Helen Crowley and Grace VanNostrand. A fire department service will be held at 8PM followed by a veterans service. Memorial services have been set for Lane W. Knight, age 57, of 1736 County Route 60, Onchiota, who died Thursday, April 13, 2006 at home. Lane's family will receive friends at the Hotel Saranac Ball Room on Saturday April 22, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Refreshments will be served at 5:30 PM followed by a time of sharing of remembrances at 6:00 PM. Family and friends will be invited to share their favorite memory or story about Lane during this time. Local arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake.

Robena M. Moody, age 86, of Harpursville, NY, formerly of Saranac Lake and Paul Smiths, NY passed away Monday, April 17, 2006 at Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, NY. Born in Tupper Lake, New York on December 23, 1919, she was the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Rice) Walsh. Mrs. Moody married Rolland D. Moody on February 23, 1941 in Tupper Lake, NY. Mr. & Mrs. Moody had been residents of Tupper Lake for 47 years and Paul Smiths for 36 years. After her husband's death in 1999, Mrs. Moody moved to Saranac Lake in 2000 and to Harpursville, NY to live with her daughter Cynthia, in December of 2004. From 1966 until 1977, along with her husband Rolland, she owned and operated Moody's Sunoco in Paul Smiths, NY. Mrs. Moody was a very active member of the St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Paul Smiths. Mrs. Moody is survived by two sons: Walsh Moody and his wife Linda of Paul Smiths, NY, Kavin Moody and his wife Virginia of Kennebunkport, ME, one daughter: Cynthia Fletcher and her husband Eugene of Harpursville, NY, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Rolland, her father William Walsh, her mother Elizabeth Rice Walsh, her brothers Earl and Wilson Walsh and her sisters Dorothy Peer, and Margaret Stefanik. Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake on Thursday, April 20, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. A Bible Vigil will take place Thursday at 3:45PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11:15AM at St. Bernards Church in Saranac Lake with Father Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Brighton Cemetery in Gabriels. Raymond Lee LaPlante, 55, of Ogdensburg died Thursday April 13, 2006 at the Highland Nursing Home where he had resided this past year. He was born February 19, 1951 in Tupper Lake, the son of William Sr. and Edna P. (Walch) LaPlante. Raised in Tupper Lake, Ray completed his education at Tupper Lake High School. For more than 30 years, Ray made his home in Ogdensburg where he and Belva Marie Cardinal of Ogdensburg worked and raised their daughter together. Belva died in 2002. He was also predeceased by a brother last year. Mr. LaPlante was a laborer with the St. Lawrence ARC Center in Ogdensburg. Surviving are his daughter Belva Cardinal and her companion Jeffery Lockhart and three grandchildren; four brothers, Lawrence LaPlante and his wife Shirley of Macedon Center NY, Robert LaPlante of Tupper Lake, William LaPlante and his companion Deborah Sullivan of Lyons NY, Martin LaPlante and his wife Gina of Long Lake; one sister Donna Lewis of Tupper Lake and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Richer Funeral Home Monday April 17 from 2-4 p.m. A funeral service will be held that day at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Carol F. Hough, age 85, formerly of 33 Sunset Road, Saranac Lake, died Friday, April 14, 2006 at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid where she had been a resident since 2003. Born in Vermontville, New York on December 17, 1920, she was the daughter of Lawrence Merrill and Octavia (Banker) Merrill Cass and the stepdaughter of Frank Cass. She married Richard Hough on May 23, 1937. Mrs. Hough attended Schools in Vermontville, Bloomingdale and graduated from the Saranac Lake High School. She later graduated from the Malone School of Nursing in 1969. She worked as a nurse at the Saranac Lake General Hospital from 1955 to 1973 and 1989 to 1993 . Mrs. Hough enjoyed cross-country skiing, hunting, fishing, gardening, photography & sewing. She is survived by two daughters Anita Gowan and her husband Robert of Saranac Lake, NY and Ginger Dora and her husband William of Saranac Lake, NY; one sister Mescal Thomas of Vermontville, NY; a daughter-in-law Rosemary Hough of Peasliville, NY; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren. Her father; mother; stepfather; one son Richard Hough and two brothers Donald and Edwin Merrill preceded her in death. Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Monday, April 17, 2006 from 7PM - 9PM and on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 from 1PM - 3PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home, with Rev. Daniel Shumway officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Vermontville. Friends wishing to remember Carol may make memorial contributions to Liz Marconi Nurses Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home.

Elizabeth A. Kaestle, age 87, formerly of 41 Keene Street, Saranac Lake, died Monday, April 10, 2006 the Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid. Born in Newton Falls, New York on April 08, 1919, she was the daughter of Matthew and Ida (King) Hynes. She married Daniel Kaestle in 1942. He predeceased her on 1977. She is survived by one son Dan Kaestle of Lake Placid, NY; one daughter Joan Reyell and her husband Robert of Saranac Lake, NY; one brother Duke Hynes of PA; five grandchildren, Daniel Kaestle, Sabrina Peterman, Jacqueline Marcus, Kassie Reyell and Kaitlynn Reyell; 4 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her father and mother and one daughter Jane Kaestle- Woods preceded her in death. Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake, NY. A graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake. Friends wishing to remember Elizabeth A. Kaestle may make memorial contributions to St. Bernard's School in care of the funeral home.

Val J. Fust, age 64, of 77 Duprey Street, Saranac Lake, died Wednesday, April 05, 2006, at the Adirondack Medical Center. Born in Bainbridge, New York, on January 22, 1942, he was the son of Paul B. and Marian (Kocich) Fust. Mr. Fust owned and operated Swiss Marine Inc. in Saranac Lake, along with his brother Jon since 1972. He began his entrepreneur endeavors following high school by operating a Tastee Freeze in Sidney, NY, with his childhood friends Glenn Odone and Allen Greene. Prior to the purchase of Swiss Marine, he owned and operated V.J. Fust Trucking, and also co-owned Northway Trucking with his brother Jon, of southern NY and northern NJ. Mr. Fust had become a seasonal resident of Saranac Lake beginning in 1968, then he established his permanent residence in 1972. He is survived by his life partner Martha Breistol of Saranac Lake, NY; one brother Jon R. Fust of Ray Brook, NY; one nephew Christopher J. Fust of Ray Brook, NY, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother Robert A. Fust. At the request of Mr. Fust's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. His remains will be cremated and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date, to be held upon the family farm in Sidney-Unadilla, NY. Friends wishing to remember Val J. Fust may make memorial contributions to a favorite charity in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home.
