On April 20, 1963, he married his adoring wife, Constance (Connie) Byrne at Our Lady of Refuge Church in the Bronx. They recently celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary.

A hard-working and dedicated man, Tom took on many different careers throughout his lifetime. He was wonderful with computers and decided to pursue a career in the field of computer programming.

In New York City, he was employed on Wall Street and also with Shields and Company. To ensure a better life for his family, he moved to Mastic Beach, Long Island, and worked for Grummons Aircraft.

In 1975, Tom decided that he would like to leave the city life behind and raise his children on a farm. The family moved to Mount Upton, where they were proud to take on permanent residence and begin a dairy farm. From Wall Street to dairy farming, Tom was always looking for a change, something new to get his hands into. Tom was also employed for 12 years by Allied of Sidney, and had also worked for the past 10 years for NBT of Norwich as a computer programmer, retiring just two weeks ago.

A wonderful, fun-loving spirit, Tom enjoyed all of the simple pleasures in life. He was happy sitting by his pond, fishing, shooting and watching basketball, but above all spending time with his loved ones.

He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed more than words could ever say. There is no way to describe the loss that all those he has left behind are feeling. We will always be grateful for the wonderful memories of this remarkable man.

Tom is survived by his wife, Constance (Connie) Mealey of Mount Upton; his four children, Thomas Mealey and his wife, Pam, of Norwich, Christopher Mealey and his wife, Betsy, of Unadilla, Bonnie Mealey of Bainbridge, and Heather Mealey of Rochester; and three grandchildren, James Mealey, Nicole Mealey, and Summer Mealey.
