Services: A celebration of Jim's life will commence in the chapel of the funeral home at the conclusion of visitation (7 p.m.) on Wednesday evening with Father Mark Cunningham, pastor of St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer officiating.
Cemetery: Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort.

Obituary: FRANKFORT/MOHAWK - James A. "Jim" Aversa, 47, of State Route 168, Mohawk, a Frankfort native, passed away unexpectedly on Friday morning, June 6, 2008 in Little Falls Hospital.

He was born on September 13, 1960 in Ilion, son of the late Patsy Aversa who operated Aversa Dry Cleaning of Frankfort and Kathleen "Kay" Aversa who currently resides in Frankfort. Jim graduated from Frankfort High School, "Class of 1979". On October 5, 1984, he was united in Holy Matrimony with the former Christine Bunce in Ilion. For over 30 years, Jim was employed with Time Warner Cable, Ilion where he gained the respect of his fellow workers and customers. Jim's work qualities made him well-suited to his position with Time Warner. He grew up attending Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort, later attending Annunciation Church, Ilion.

Jim was a friendly man whose personality made him a wonderful friend and companion. As a family-oriented man who truly enjoyed his loved ones, he was a good and exemplary husband and father who took his responsibilities very seriously and lived up to them successfully. He cherished the many close and valued relationships he maintained in his professional and family circle. Jim loved the outdoors and hunting and four-wheeling but especially the times he spent at the family camp in Otter Lake. He also treasured the time spent with his beloved canine companions.

Survivors include his beloved family who will miss him dearly; his wife: Christine; his mother Kay of Frankfort; a son: Justin Aversa of Mohawk and a daughter: Brittany Aversa of Mohawk; three brothers: Mark Aversa of Frankfort, Michael Aversa and fiancé Monica of Minneapolis, MN, and Patrick Aversa and wife Beth of Chicago, Ill.; a sister: Colleen Vivirito and husband Sam of Frankfort; his "best man" and longtime friend: Tom LaPuma and wife Kay who was like Jim's "second dad"; in laws: Stewart Bunce of Mohawk and Sylvia Bunce also of Mohawk; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Obituary: Mary (Beran) Latreille, 91, of Schenectady and a long time Ilion resident, passed away on Sunday June 8, 2008 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, NY.

She was born October 27, 1916 in the Town of German Flatts the daughter of the late Anton and Susannah (Bachorik) Beran and was educated in local schools.

Mary was employed for 30 years at the former Allegro Shoe Company in Little Falls.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Perkett and husband Reuben of Schenectady, four grandchildren, Robin Perkett and wife Rose of Lansingburgh, Bonnie Barner and husband Brian of Scotia, Bradley Perkett and wife Tona of Eden, NY and Kimberly LaMora of Schenectady, eight great grandchildren, Jason and Angela Perkett, Christopher and Katherine Barner, Felicia LaMora, Samantha Kaniewski, Jeffrey LaFountain, and Charlize Perkett, two great great grandchildren, Madison Leffler and Devin Perkett, a sister, Anna Stegich of Mohawk, and a brother, Daniel Beran and wife Carolyn of Ilion, sister-in-law, Mary Beran of Herkimer, and several nieces & nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her son Kenneth (Brother) VanCour, a brother, Frank Beran, and two sisters, Helen Latella and Lydia Pointing.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 12, 2008 at 11:00 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N.  Washington St., Herkimer, NY, with Reverend Antony Ligato, pastor of Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday June 11, 2008 from 6-8 pm. All memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home

Obituary: Antonia “Toni” Shuster, 87, a 59 year resident of 636 State Highway 67, St. Johnsville and most recently residing with her daughter and son-in-law, Jan & William MacLauchlin passed away on Monday June 9, 2008.

She was born June 16, 1920 in Kringsbush, NY the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Piniaha) Malinoski and was a graduate of Dolgeville High School.

Her marriage to Francis H. Shuster took place on June 17, 1944 at St. Pauls’ Lutheran Church in St. Johnsville. The couple shared a blessed union of 54 years until the passing of Mr. Shuster on February 6, 1999.
Mrs. Shuster was last employed at Beech-Nut in Canajohaire, NY.
As a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for over 60 years, Toni was active in choir, Bible studies and various other church activities.

Toni proved herself a loving, generous and compassionate mother, grandmother and friend. In her spare time she was an avid reader and most recently enjoyed playing Chicken Foot Dominoes with some friends. Toni enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her husband and family at their camp at Piseco Lake and Stoner Lake.

Survivors include her daughter, Jan MacLauchlin and husband William of Fort Plain; a son, Richard Shuster and wife Julie of Rome; five grandchildren, Scott MacLauchlin and fiancee Lisa Jeffords and her son Brayden, Jodi Eakin and husband Robert, and Lorynn MacLauchlin, and Jeffery and Johanna Shuster; a great grandson, Collin Eakin; four sisters, Nellie Pavlus of Gloversville, Julia Komar of St. Johnsville, Amelia (Butchie) Pingelski and husband Frank of Clifton Park, and Anne Gniewek of Clifton Park, and several nieces, nephews and very special brother & sisters in-laws.

She was pre-deceased by three brothers, Frank, Anthony and Edward Malinoski and a sister, Frances Arnold.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 12, 2008 at 11:00 from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Reverend David Johnson, officiating. Burial will be in West St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St. St. Johnsville, NY on Wednesday June 11, 2008 from 5-8 pm. All memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or to the American Bible Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

LeRoy Akins
GLENS FALLS - LeRoy B. Akins Jr., 66, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born Dec. 26, 1941, at Glens Falls Hospital to the late fire chief LeRoy B. Akins Sr. and Agnes C. (Beaudin) Akins.

LeRoy was the mayor of the City of Glens Falls.

William Taft
QUEENSBURY - William H. "Bill" Taft, formerly of Queensbury, N.Y., died peacefully Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at 7:15 a.m. at Ellis Hospital, knowing his daughters were close by him.

Born on March 24, 1924, in Whitehall, N.Y., he was the son of Christine and Henry Taft.

Bill was a World Word II Pilot, whose love of flying was known to all who knew him well. Bill was a Master Craftsman, with a strong vision of what could be accomplished, demonstrating creativity and physical accomplishments well into his later years.

Martha Harris
LAKE GEORGE - Martha Thomas Harris, 88, of Assembly Point, Lake George, N.Y. and most recently of Sauquoit, N.Y. passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center with her family by her side.

Martha was born Dec. 13, 1919, in Afton, N.Y., the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Thomas. While employed at G.E. she met J. Gardiner Harris of Schenectady, N.Y. and they were married on Sept. 25, 1942. While raising her children she pursued a number of hobbies to include sewing, upholstering and refinishing.

She was an active member of the Glens Falls Hospital Guild, Queensbury Senior Citizens Bridge Club, Bay Meadows Golf Club and the gardening club.

Arlene Kruger
QUEENSBURY - Arlene Frances Kruger, 73, a resident of Queensbury, passed away Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at her home.

She was born on July 30, 1935, in Glens Falls, N.Y.

Arlene was a devoted and loving wife of 53 years. She married William Kruger in June of 1955.

Joshua Bierman
QUEENSBURY - Joshua J. Bierman, age 28, died Saturday evening, Aug. 9, 2008, at Glens Falls Hospital, as the result of a motorcycle accident.

Born on June 18, 1980, in Wellsville he was the son of Gary and Judy (French) Askins.

Joshua was employed as a cook at area restaurants including the Olde Bryan Inn, Saratoga Springs, the Remington Bar and Grill, Queensbury and George's, Lake George.

Ida Jane Whitcomb
TICONDEROGA - Ida Jane Whitcomb, 92, of Ticonderoga passed away Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, at the Pleasant Valley Infirmary of Argyle.

Born in Ticonderoga, April 25, 1916, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (McCauley)  White.

Mrs. Whitcomb was a lifelong resident of Ticonderoga. She was employed by the Ticonderoga Central School System, where she spent many years as the cafeteria manager.

Myrtle Gilmore Ivery Tuohey
TAMARAC, Fla. and FORT EDWARD, N.Y. - Myrtle (Gilmore) Ivery-Tuohey, 92, of Tamarac, Fla. and formerly of Fort Edward, N.Y., passed away at her home in Florida after a long illness.

Born on April 17, 1916, at home in Fort Ann, she was the daughter of Hubbell and Helen (Elms) Gilmore.

After graduating high school, Myrtle attended beauty school. She later completed a program at Albany Business College to develop her administrative skills.

Mary Dreyer
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Mary Dreyer passed away on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, at her home in Saratoga Springs. She was 55.

Mary was born in Glen Cove, N.Y., on Sept. 28, 1952.

She graduated from Colby College in 1974, where she belonged to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, and Albany Law School in 1982. She practiced law in Albany and Saratoga Springs until 1992, when she retired from practice to raise her three beloved children.

Lorraine L. Wooddell
HARTFORD - Lorraine L. Wooddell passed away on Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, at The Orchard Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in North Granville, N.Y.

Lorraine was born on Oct. 11, 1927, in Hudson Falls, N.Y., the daughter of John and Mary (Sherman) Place.

Lorraine graduated from Hudson Falls High School.

Guy A. Capuano
SALEM, N.Y. - Guy A. Capuano, 53, of Salem, passed away Monday night, Aug. 11, 2008, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Guy was born Sept. 22, 1954, at the Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, the son of Marilyn (McEvoy) Capuano of Salem and the late Andrew Capuano.

Guy was a 1972 graduate of Salem  Washington Academy.

Sandra Lynn Schupp
GLENS FALLS - Sandra Lynn Schupp, 48, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on May 25, 1960, in Madison, Wis., she was the daughter of John Jenkins and Alice DiCostanzo.

Sandra was a graduate of Alfred University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing.

Cindy Lee Myers
GUILDERLAND, Albany County - Cindy Lee Myers, age 55, of Western Avenue, Guilderland, died suddenly at her residence Monday, Aug. 11, 2008.

Born in Liberty, N.Y., she had been a resident of the capital region for her entire life.

She worked for Albany County Department of Social Services and was the assistant director of the Food Stamp Program, since 1981.

SALEM, N.Y. - Guy A. Capuano, 53, of Salem, passed away Monday night, Aug. 11, 2008, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Guy was born Sept. 22, 1954, at the Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, the son of Marilyn (McEvoy) Capuano of Salem and the late Andrew Capuano.

Guy was a 1972 graduate of Salem  Washington Academy.

Clifford Belott
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. - Clifford J. Belott, 79, passed away peacefully at home in Clifton Park, on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, with his loving family by his side after a long struggle with COPD.

Born Nov. 1, 1928, the son of the late John and Evelyn Belott.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, John C. Belott.

Sean Meldrum
ROCHESTER - Sean Christopher Meldrum, died suddenly, Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Mary VanDenburgh-Meldrum; children, Vanessa Salisbury (Sean Lasher) of Rotterdam, N.Y. and Patrick Salisbury of Rochester; grandson, Alex Conti; father, Robert Meldrum of Granville, N.Y.; mother, Dorothea Meldrum of Corinth, N.Y.; sisters: Andrea (Steve) Sopko of Troy, N.Y., Megan Meldrum, of Corinth, N.Y., and Caitlin Wolcott of Schenectady, N.Y.; brothers, David Meldrum of England and Michael Cashman of Glens Falls, N.Y.; numerous sisters and brothers-in-laws; nieces and nephews.

Sean was an assistant faculty member with the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Rochester.

Mary Rotella
BRICK, N.J. - Mrs. Mary A. (Phillips) Rotella, 89, of Mount Arlington, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, at Compassionate Care Hospice, at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover, N.J.

Mrs. Rotella was born on Dec. 15, 1918, in West Rutland, Vt., she was the daughter of the late, Stanley and Stella (Kaszuba) Strainer.

She was an active parishioner of St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church of Brick. She was also a member of The Holy Rosary Society of St. Dominic's. She was an active member of The Ridgefield Park Columbiettes and served as the president in the late 1950s.

Marjorie Sheehan
RED BLUFF,  Calif. - Marjorie Bidwell Sheehan, 87, of Red Bluff, Calif, passed away on July 23, 2008, after a short illness.

Born on Feb. 15, 1921, in Shushan, N.Y. the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Combs Bidwell. She was the granddaughter of Minnie Bidwell of Warrensburg.

She graduated from Hudson Falls High School, Class of 1938. While in school she worked at the soda fountain in W.T. Grant. During World War II she worked at American Locomotive.

Delia Peloch
RHINEBECK, N.Y. - Delia M. Peloch, 90, a former resident of Schuylerville, N.Y., Fort Hudson Health Services, Fort Edward, N.Y. and a resident of Rhinebeck since August 2007, passed away peacefully at The Baptist Home at Brookmeade, Rhinebeck, on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008.

Born July 22, 1918, in Northumberland, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Edward Dumas and Grace VanOrman.

Delia graduated in 1936 from Schuylerville Central School and on Nov. 12, 1937, married Ralph "Punch" Peloch. They were married 66 years at the time of his death.

Jeanette Brearton
VERO BEACH, Fla. - Jeanette H. Brearton, 87, of Vero Beach, Fla., passed away Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, at her home in Indian River Estates.

Mrs. Brearton was born Dec. 5, 1920, in Hudson Falls, N.Y., to William and Eva Lafay Heil.

She and her husband, the late Richard W. Brearton Jr., had moved to Vero Beach 30 years ago from Schenectady, N.Y.
