Glenn Warren Jr.
COWETA — Memorial services were held Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at the First United Methodist Church for Glenn Fulton Warren Jr., 61, of Coweta.
The Rev. Helen Taylor officiated the service with the Rev. Jeannie Himes assisting.
Interment was in Vernon Cemetery under the direction of Wright Funeral Home.
Warren died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, in Poughkeepsie.
Warren was born Aug. 23, 1939, in Tulsa, to Glenn Fulton Warren Sr. and Blanche (Maupin) Warren.
He graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa in 1957.
He then graduated from Northeastern State University in 1962 with a bachelor's degree in chemistry.
He served in the United States Navy and was a naval officer.
On Oct. 30, 1962, he and Beverly Williams were married in Tulsa. She preceded him in death.
On April 1, 1989, he and Ellen (Nelson) Durfey were married in Coweta.
Warren was the director of evening operations for Tulsa Community College-Southeast Campus for seven years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Coweta Arts and Humanities Council and the Volkswagen Bus Club.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen, of the home; six children, Deborah and Perry J. Mooney of Coweta, Elizabeth A. Warren of Raleigh, N.C., Amy and Richard Guernsey of Cherry Valley, Patricia Durfey of Perkins, Nelson T. Durfey of Stillwater and Karlene Durfey of Broken Arrow; five grandchildren, Danielle Horner of Coweta, Ashlee Durfey of Perkins, Jason Guernsey and Nadine Guernsey of Cherry Valley and Jared Smith of Stillwater; one brother, Steve Warren Sr. of Tulsa; and two nephews, Steve Warren Jr. of California and Sam Sherrill of Mississippi.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and one son, Kendall C. Durfey.
Local arrangements were entrusted to the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.
Kenneth Young
WESTVILLE — Kenneth Lavere Young, 75, of Westville, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at his home.
He was born in Springfield on Aug. 22, 1925, a son of William and Martha (Skinion) Young.
Ken attended Springfield High School.
He married June Sprague on June 5, 1949, in the Westville Baptist Church. They moved to Westville in 1956, where they have resided for the past 45 years.
Ken worked and managed Clark's Poultry Farm for many years. He was also a bus driver for 23 years for Milford Central School.
Kenneth enjoyed lawn care, raising chickens and selling eggs and really enjoyed the bus driving and the children riding his buses.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, June; a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Ted Winsor of Milford; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Marnita Young of Davenport; one granddaughter, Kimberly Winsor; two grandsons, John-Henry Winsor and Justin Young; three sisters, Laura Benjamin, Marjorie Buddle and Thelma Stocking; two brothers, Laverne and Leonard Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, William Young in 1998; and a son, Allan Young in 1999.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, at 11:30 a.m. at the Tillapaugh Funeral Home in Milford, with Shirley Tabor officiating. Burial will follow in Westville Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Tillapaugh Funeral Home in Milford, when the family will be in attendance.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care Inc., 542 Main St., Oneonta, NY 13820.

Hazel F. Snyder
ONEONTA — Hazel F. Snyder, 87, of Oneonta, passed away Sunday afternoon, Aug. 19, 2001, in Oneonta.
She was born Nov. 10, 1913, in North Franklin, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Lena Thesen Kuppens.
Hazel was first married to Mr. White, who passed away several years ago. On Dec. 20, 1941, she married Frank Snyder in Franklin. He predeceased her on Nov. 5, 1988.
For the past 12 years, Hazel made her home with her caregiver, Dino Jones. She was a former resident of the Sidney-Bainbridge area.
Mrs. Snyder was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Bainbridge.
She is survived by three nieces, Lena Barnes of West Davenport, Roberta Haynes of Franklin and Rose Brower of Sidney; and nephew, John Parks, Harleysville, Pa.
Three brothers, August, Jake and Frederick Kuppens; and three sisters, Lena Weidman, Elizabeth Crandall and Anna Parks predeceased Hazel.
Funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001, at the C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, with the Rev. Linda King Watkins, vicar of her church, officiating.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Church Cemetery in Bainbridge.
Friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
Memorial gifts in her name may be directed to the Sidney Emergency Squad, River Street, Sidney, N.Y. if desired.
Lois Elmore
TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. — Lois Petronio Elmore, 71, formerly of Cherry Valley, N.Y., died Aug. 17, 2001.
She was born in Newburgh, N.Y., and moved to Cherry Valley, in 1966.
Lois owned the Mohawk Campground for 15 years and was a member of the Cherry Valley Central School Board of Education from 1972-76.
She was a manager at Hungry Howie's Restaurant in Clearwater until her retirement in 1995.
She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Douglas, formerly of Canajoharie, N.Y.; and her children, Phillip Constantino and his wife, Claudia (Graham), Stephen Constantino and his wife, Diane (Whiteman), all of Florida, formerly of Cherry Valley, and Robin Beaver and her husband, Donald of Canajoharie.
Survivors also include four stepchildren, Brock Elmore of Syracuse, N.Y., and Tal Elmore, Quint Elmore and Johnna Germaine, all of Florida, formerly of Canajoharie; six grandchildren; and seven stepgrandchildren.
Arrangements were by Preferred Funeral Alternatives, Holiday, Fla.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Girl Scouts of America.
Nereo A. Lizardo
SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Lizardo family regrets to announce the passing of Dr. Nereo Lizardo on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001.
Dr. Lizardo died peacefully at his home outside Saratoga Springs, with his wife and three children by his side. He was 66 years old.
Dr. Lizardo attended the Ateneo de Manila and received his M.D. from Far Eastern University. He completed his residency in general surgery at Booth Memorial Hospital in Queens. After brief stints in Rugby, N.D., and Syracuse, he established his private practice in Sidney.
In all, Dr. Lizardo devoted more than 40 years to providing caring, dedicated and professional service, retiring in 1999.
His commitment to gentle healing and medical excellence will be remembered by his patients for many years to come.
Dr. Lizardo is survived by his wife, Lois; and his three sons, James, Stephen and Robert. He is also survived by two brothers, Solomon and Claro; and a sister, Fe.
A private memorial was held for family members.
In lieu of flowers, Dr. Lizardo and his family request that gifts in his honor be made to Friends of Bassett Hospital, One Atwell Road, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
Hannah S. Roberts
GLENDORA, N.J. — Hannah S. (nee Solnek) Roberts, age 91, of Glendora, N.J., passed away on Monday, Aug. 20, 2001.
She was the wife of the late Roderick J. She was a devoted mother of Sarah E. and Richard Howard of Glendora, Patricia H. and Joseph Reiners of Deptford, N.J., and Barbara L. and the late Roderick Jr.
She was a loving grandmother of Barbara and Thomas Spani of Grants Pass, Ore., Kathleen and Heinrich Maier of Neustadt, Germany, William Clark of Canoga Park, Calif., Michael and Anne Roberts of Ponte Vedra, Fla., Patrick Clark of Glendora, Bernadette and Frank Hill of Cooperstown, N.Y., Mary and Robert Carraher of Glendora, James Roberts of Evanston, Ill., David and Kathryn Reiners of Swedesboro, Susan and Donald Dyson of Bellmawr, Mary Elizabeth Reiners of Mount Ephraim, N.J., Stephen and Barbara Reiners of Mantua, N.J., Daniel and Susan Roberts of Ilion, N.Y., Patricia and David Duer of Wenonah, N.J., and the late Kathleen Clark-Aveta and John Aveta of Ashburn, Va.
She also is survived by 27 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday evening and from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. Friday morning at Gardner Funeral Home in Runnemede; the complete address is 126 S. Black Horse Park, Runnemede, NJ 08078.
Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Teresa's Roman Catholic Church in Runnemede. Interment New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.

Robert D. Loucks
CHERRY VALLEY — Mr. Robert D. Loucks, 89, passed away Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at The Meadows.
He was born Dec. 16, 1911, in Schoharie, the son of Alvah and Celia (Cady) Loucks.
On July 10, 1937, he married Ada Winslow in Cherry Valley. She predeceased him in 1996.
Mr. Loucks ran a boring mill at GE, had worked at Briggs Lumber and also worked at Remington Arms, was a carpenter and meat cutter.
He lived in Perth until moving to Cherry Valley in 1942.
He was a member of Grace Church, Cherry Valley.
Survivors include three sons and their wives, Robert and JoAnn of Cherry Valley, Stanley and Margaret of Port Jefferson, Long Island, and Steven and Catherine of Pittsford; seven grandchildren, Kim Thompson, Jeffrey Loucks, Amy Garretson, Brian Loucks, Bobby Loucks, Deborah Jalbert and Jill Wagner; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at Grace Church, Cherry Valley, with the Rev. Alvin Burnworth and the Rev. Norman Sieme officiating. Burial will be in the Cherry Valley Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ottman Funeral Home in Cherry Valley.
Contributions in Mr. Loucks memory may be made to the Grace Church, Cherry Valley.

Alan Wayne Wood
WALTON — Alan Wayne Wood of Walton, died on Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at his home. He was 52.
Mr. Wood was a computer operator for Alta Dairy in Fraser.
He was born March 4, 1949, in Walton, to Millard and Agnes Fitch Wood.
Mr. Wood married Karen McClenon on April 3, 1971.
Mr. Wood is survived by his wife, Karen; his children, Daniel of Walton, Brian of Garner, N.C., and Matthew (Tanya) Wood of Walton; his brothers, George (Audrey) of Hamden, Merlyn (Beverly) of Walton, Carl (Gail) of Bedford, Ind., Raymond (Arlene) of Sidney, Stephen (Patricia) of Walton; and sisters, Irene (George) Conklin of Walton and Carol Nichols of Jackson, Mich.; his grandchildren, Cody, Morgan, Corbin, Rylee, Hunter and Jarrett; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his grandchild, Gavin.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Delbert Ripley officiating, at Lyon Bros.-Way Funeral Chapel at the corner of North and Delaware streets in Walton, where his family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Walton Cemetery.
Preston D. Irwin
DELHI — Preston D. Irwin, 83, of Delhi, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at his home.
Surviving are his wife, the former Olga E. Zona; a sister, Marie Hornbeck; and a niece, Barbara Villetto, both of Thousand Oaks, Calif.
In keeping with Preston's wishes, there are no calling hours.
Private memorial services will be conducted at the Hall & Peet Funeral Home, Delhi, on Saturday, Aug. 25. The Rev. Kenneth R. Baldwin of Oneonta will officiate.
Burial will be in the Fantinekill Cemetery in Ellenville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.

Delmar Davidson
DELHI — Delmar L. Davidson, 86, of Delhi, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001.
He was born Dec. 19, 1914, in Treadwell, the son of George and Laura (Russell) Davidson.
His wife, Lucy (Stark) Davidson resides in Delhi. They were married Oct. 1, 1977, in Delhi.
Mr. Davidson retired from Bendix in Sidney, where he worked in the shipping department.
An avid golfer, Mr. Davidson was a member of the Delhi College Golf Course, New Berlin Golf Course and Oneonta Country Club.
He also enjoyed memberships in the First Presbyterian Church in Delhi, and the Odd Fellows in Sidney.
Three daughters, Kay and OB Cornell of Salsburg, Va., Jo Ellen Davidson of Durham, N.C., and Amy and Charles Reynolds of Franklin; six grandchildren, Jennifer Wieber, Scott Slawson, David and Robert Wilsey and Christopher and Kimberly Reynolds; and two great-grandchildren, Alex and Audrie Wieber, survive; as does a brother, Calvin Davidson of Treadwell; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Delhi, with the Rev. Lyle Linder officiating. Calling hours will be on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the MacArthur Funeral Home in Delhi. Burial will be in Ouleout Valley Cemetery in Franklin.
Contributions in his memory may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Delhi.
Arrangements are with the MacArthur Funeral Home in Delhi.
Hope E. Farone
ONEONTA — Miss Hope E. Farone of Oneonta died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Oneonta, the daughter of Amelio and Louise (Ross) Farone.
Miss Farone received her bachelor's degree from Columbia University, and her master's from the Teacher's College of Columbia University.
She retired in 1970, from the Oneonta Consolidated Schools, where she taught English in the Junior High School for 36 years.
She was a member and faithful supporter of St. Mary's Church.
She is survived by two nieces, Mary Ann Godwin of Tarrytown,and Karen Sturges of Marlboro, Mass.; five grandnieces and grandnephews, Elizabeth and Ann E. Godwin of Tarrytown and Sarah, Jeffrey and Timothy Sturges of Marlboro, Mass.; along with several cousins.
She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Farone; and two sisters, Marion McDonough and Helene Farone.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, with the Rev. Paul Roman, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.
Friends may call at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home at 14 Grand St. in Oneonta on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., at which time the family will be in attendance.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church.
