Marian A. Pratt
Hampton, N.Y. - Marian A. Pratt, age 81, of Hampton, N.Y., passed away on Aug. 30, 2008, at her residence in Hampton, N.Y.

Marian was born in Granville, N.Y., on Nov. 15, 1926, daughter of the late Thomas and Eunice (Kilday) Haley. She married her husband, Arthur G. "Jake" Pratt Jr., on Aug. 20, 1955, in Schenectady, N.Y. In 1961, she and her husband moved to Hampton, N.Y., and started the Pratt & Son Dairy Farm. Marian was a member of the United Baptist Church of Poultney, Vt., and a past member of the Poultney Snow Devils Club. For more than 40 years, Marian was employed at Telescope Furniture in Granville, and also worked part time at the Grand Union in Granville. On Aug. 20, 2005, she and her husband Jake celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She enjoyed crocheting, square dancing and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Marian and her husband Jake also enjoyed spending time together taking short rides in their truck. The family of Marian would like to thank the caregivers, Leone Barlow, Karen Hainsworth, Sylvia Pollard and Teresa Loomis, and also the Hospice of  Washington County.

Marian is survived by one son, Arthur G. Pratt III and his wife, Jody, of Hampton, N.Y.; three daughters, Joann Noiseaux of Schenectady, N.Y., Linda Reed and her husband, Leonard, of Hampton, N.Y., and Rebecca  Jones and her husband, David, of Hampton, N.Y.; one sister, Gladys Monger of South Granville, N.Y.; five grandsons, Louis Pratt of Whitehall, N.Y., Charlie Reed of Fort Ann, N.Y., Thomas Reed of Hampton, N.Y., Matthew Pratt of Hampton, N.Y., and Jacob  Jones of Hampton, N.Y.; six granddaughters, Pamela Panoushek of Rutland, Vt., Elaine Leddick of Hampton, N.Y., Susan DeRush of Gansevoort, N.Y., Valerie Toubman of Schenectady, N.Y., and Hannah  Jones of Hampton, N.Y. She is also survived by her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Doran Pratt, Patricia and Floyd Pratt, Malcolm Pratt and his companion, Mary Wood, Pete and Debbie Pratt, Carl Pratt, Alice Battease and her companion, Vern Bezio, and Lillian and Archie Pomainville; and by many great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur G. "Jake" Pratt Jr.; a brother, James Haley; a sister, Eunice Hughes; and by a granddaughter, Wendy Pratt.

Elizabeth "Betty" I. McKinney
WARRENSBURG - Elizabeth "Betty" I. McKinney, 78, of River Street, went into the arms of the Lord, Saturday evening, Aug. 30, 2008, at her home with her loving family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Betty was the youngest of 13 siblings. Born on Sept. 22, 1929, to the late Charles and Goldie (Putney) Reed.

Betty attended different schools in the area. Upon leaving school, she met and married Charles R. McKinney on Aug. 3, 1946.

Elmer Antonsen
CHAMPAIGN - Elmer H. Antonsen, Ph.D., 78, of Champaign died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at Carle Hospital in Urbana.

Professor Antonsen was born Nov. 17, 1929, in Glens Falls, N.Y., a son of Haakon and Astrid Antonsen.

He was married to and is survived by his wife, Hannelore (Adam) Antonsen. They were married in Kassel, Germany, on Mar. 24, 1956.

Emma Keating
SOUTH GLENS FALLS, CLEVERDALE and LARGO, Fla. - Emma M. Keating, of South Glens Falls, Cleverdale and Largo, Fla., passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at Glens Falls Hospital after a short illness.

Born May 23, in New York City, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephina (Matteo) Dauria.

She was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church and St. Mary's Church. Emma was a charter member of St. Michael's Altar Rosary Society an more than 50-year member of the Catholic Daughters of America, where she held some officer positions.

Mrs. Dorothy Hull Reinhart
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Williamson County — Mrs. Dorothy Hull Reinhart, age 92, of Brentwood, Tenn., passed away Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008.

She was a graduate of  Pennsylvania State University and a lifetime member of the AOPi Sorority.

Dorothy enjoyed her days at the family vacation spot in Lake George, N.Y. where the property had been a part of their lives since 1948. Dorothy was an avid reader, golfer, bowler, bridge player and loved her needlepoint work. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

George E. Corlew
GANSEVOORT — George E. Corlew, 76, of Route 32 North, Gansevoort, passed away peacefully at his home, Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, surrounded by his loving family.

Born March 15, 1932, in Ballston Spa, he was the son of the late Clarence P. and Hazel (Hudson) Corlew.

George received his education from Ballston Spa Central School System. He was employed at various places, which included years of farming, side jobs in plumbing, NIBCO, and Patrician Paper Company. Prior to his retirement, George worked for many years for the town of Northumberland prior to serving three terms as highway superintendent from Jan. 1, 1990 to Dec. 31, 1995. He also served as a member of the Gansevoort Volunteer Fire Company for many years, being elected 2nd assistant chief in 1963, 1st assistant chief in 1964, 1965, and 1966, and chief in 1967, 1968 and 1969.

Enola R. Barker
HARTFORD — Enola R. Barker, a resident of Hartford, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at her home.

Born in Albany, N.Y., she was the daughter of Percy A. and Edna L. Whelden Barbur.

Enola was a registered nurse and had worked at Glens Falls Hospital for many years.

Dr. David C. Fox
CHAMPLAIN — Dr. David C. Fox, 77, of Champlain, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at home.

He was born April 8, 1931, in Albany, N.Y., the son of the late Joseph and Mary Fox.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict as a Sr. Pharmacist specialist until his honorable discharge in 1956. During his time of service he was awarded the National Defense Service medal.

Charlotte Tuttle Lloyd Walkup
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Charlotte Tuttle Lloyd Walkup, a lawyer who practiced in various government positions and private practice in  Washington for nearly fifty years, died on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, of congestive heart disorder in Goodwin House Alexandria. She was a resident of Alexandria since 1938.

Mrs. Walkup graduated from Vassar College and Columbia Law School. In 1973, she retired from government service with the U.S. Treasury Department where she was an assistant general counsel of an executive department. She then worked as a consultant to the  Washington office of the New York law firm once known as Rogers and Wells, assisting in the editing of two books on international trade.

In 1998, she and Capt. Walkup moved to Goodwin House.

Thomas Crosse
ARGYLE - Thomas A. Crosse, 68, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Pleasant Valley Health Center, Argyle on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008.

Born in Glens Falls on May 22, 1940, he was the son of the late John Allen Crosse and Florence Marie (LaMoy) Crosse.

Tom attended Glens Falls School and lived at Rome State School and Wilton Developmental Center until 1975. He then moved to Living Resources in Scotia.

Eloise Dewey
GREENWICH - Eloise B. Dewey, 93, a former Greenwich resident, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Facility in Argyle.

Born April 23, 1915, at her family home in the town of Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Willis Barbur and Mabel Lewthwaite Barbur.

Eloise was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Greenwich, was a former member of the Al Bain Fan Club, 4-H, and the Bottskill Grange.

Antoniette Marcantonio
GLENS FALLS - Antoniette "Nate" Marcantonio, 85, of McDonald Street, Glens Falls passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a long illness.

Born at home in West Aliquippa, Pa., on Dec. 26, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Gregory and Carrina (George) Candelmo.

On April 26, 1943, Antoniette married Albert Marcantonio Sr. in West Aliquippa, Pa.

Eugene Robert Bertsche
CLEARWATER, Fla. - Eugene Robert Bertsche, 83, of Clearwater, Fla., passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at Hospice House Woodside in Pinellas Park, Fla.

Born in Rochester, N.Y., on Aug. 12, 1925, he was the son of the late Eugene D. and Matilda Schmier Bertsche.

Mr. Bertsche came to the Clearwater area in 1987, from Glenn Falls, N.Y.

Roland Marcotte
CORINTH - Roland J. Marcotte, 58, of Palmer Avenue, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at his home following a long illness.

Born on March 10, 1950, in Corinth, he was the son of the late Roger Sr. and Lillian (Langlois) Marcotte.

Mr. Marcotte joined the United States Army on May 11, 1967, serving in the Vietnam War as a clerk, receiving the National Defense Service Medal and returned home with his two brothers from the war.

Gustaf Myhrberg
QUEENSBURY - Gustaf Hugo Myhrberg, 80, of Queensbury passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Arrangements are pending under the direction of Singleton-Healy Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury.

William Hyatt
DELTONA, Fla. - William D. Hyatt of Deltona, Fla., passed away Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at home after a short illness.

Born Aug. 4, 1947, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late William B. and Zada M. Hyatt.

Bill graduated from South Glens Falls High School in 1965.

Oke Edstrom
WHITE TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Oke Ekstrom, 85, died on Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, in his residence in  White Township, N.J.

Oke lived in  White Township, N.J. since 1999, coming from Mt. Arlington, N.J.

He was born in Gotenburg, Sweden on May 15, 1923, son of the late Carl and Arvid and Anna Marie Pettersson Ekstrom.

Evelyn Benack
Queensbury - Evelyn Benack, 85, of Queensbury passed away on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at her residence.

Arrangements are pending under the direction of Singleton-Healy Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury.

Gustaf Hugo Myhrberg
Queensbury - Gustaf Hugo Myhrberg, 80, of Queensbury, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, September 3 2008, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on Jan. 30, 1928 in Proctor, Vt., he was the son of Hugo and Beatrice (Biglow) Myhrberg.

After serving in the U.S. Navy, Gus married Helen Phelps of South Hero, Vt. on Jan. 28 1951.

Florence L. Andersen
BOLTON LANDING - Florence L. Andersen, 90, of Lake Shore Drive, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008 at The Pines, formerly Eden Park Health Care Center, Glens Falls.

Born Jan. 27, 1918, in Yonkers, she was the daughter of Albert and Laurene (McMahon) Wardrop.

Mrs. Andersen and her husband, Reynold "Gunther" Andersen, owned and operated Kellem Acres, a Bolton Landing resort, for 28 years.

Raymond D. Graves Jr.
Greenwich - Raymond D. Graves Jr., 81, a resident of Carl Avenue, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a long illness.

Born May 24, 1927 in Estelline,  Texas, he was the son of the late Raymond and Pauline Thomas Graves.

On June 14, 1952, Raymond married Ellen Marie Rogers in  Washington, D.C. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last year before his loving wife predeceased him on Sept. 26, 2007.

Cassie Raye Jackson
Glens Falls - Cassie Raye Jackson, 87, of Glens Falls passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008 at a time to be announced.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Regan and Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury.

Thomas Piesik
SPRING HILL, Fla. - Thomas "Tom" G. Piesik, 61, of Spring Hill, Fla., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.

He was born in Milwaukee, Wis. and came here 11 years ago from Glens Falls, N.Y.

He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves.

Evelyn Benack
Queensbury - Evelyn (Evie) Huston Benack, 85, of Queensbury passed away on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008.

She was born July 3, 1923 in Troy, N.Y., the daughter of the late Helen Cohen Huston Kaufman and Jesse Willard.

Evie was a past employee of Feigenbaum Cleaners and then worked many years at the Glens Falls Hospital in the emergency room as a ward clerk.

Ross Rishell
South Glens Falls - Ross B. Rishell, 85, of South Glens Falls, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on Oct. 22, 1922 in Worcester, Mass., he was raised in Aruba and  Pennsylvania.

Ross graduated as an architect from the University of Virginia School of Architecture.
