Caroline Ericson
BLENHEIM HILL — Caroline Ericson, 84, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at Robinson Terrace after a long illness.
She was born in New York City, and was an area resident for 40 years.
A Realtor, Caroline owned and operated Crane Real Estate in Stamford.
She was an active community member and an avid golfer who loved to dance.
Caroline is survived by her loving husband, John Henry; two daughters, Barbara Green of Longwood, Fla., and Diane Barlow of Orland, Maine; three stepsons, Richard, George and John Ericson, all of Blenheim Hill. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Hall Funeral Home, 40 Main St., (corner of Liberty Street) Stamford, Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at 1 p.m. with the Pastor Elliot Oakes officiating.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Hall Funeral Home, Stamford, under the direction of William A. Tari.
Clifford E. Tuttle
SIDNEY — Clifford E. Tuttle, 84, of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at his home.
He was born Feb. 17, 1917, son of the late Martin and Mary (Dunn) Tuttle in Livingston Manor.
Cliff married Evelyn E. McArthur on May 30, 1940, in Livingston Manor. She predeceased him on March 21, 1995.
He was employed as a group leader for the Amphenol Corp. from 1941-80. Cliff was also an electrical contractor in the area.
Mr. Tuttle was a member of the Sidney United Methodist Church and a life member of the American Philatelic Society, the United Postal Stationary Society, the Empire State Postal History Society, the Tritown Stamp Club and the Sidney Historical Society.
Mr. Tuttle was a longtime volunteer at The Hospital in Sidney.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Janice Tuttle, Unadilla; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Daniel Echeverri, Port St. Luce, Fla.; brothers, James Tuttle, Ballston Spa, Theodore Tuttle, Livingston Manor, and George Tuttle, Oxford; grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Tuttle, Maria and Shawn Thiel, and Adriana Echeverri; great-grandchildren, Austin and Ariana Thiel; sisters-in-law, Madeline Tuttle, Parksville, Rita Simpson, Liberty, and Judy Tuttle and Ruth Tuttle, both of Sidney; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Albert, Paul, Roy, Phillip, Kenneth and David; and brother-in-law, Alfred McArthur.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at the Sidney United Methodist Church at 4 p.m., with the Rev. David Masland, pastor, officiating. Friends may call from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney.
Burial will be in Orchard Street Cemetery in Livingston Manor in the spring.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sidney United Methodist Church or Catskill Area Hospice, 542 Main St., Oneonta.
Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers, Inc., Sidney.
Priscilla Palmeter
ONEONTA — A service to celebrate the life of Priscilla L. Palmeter, who died on Jan. 10, 2002, will be held on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church, Oneonta, with the Rev. William Bouton, pastor, officiating.
Anna Mae Blasetti
ONEONTA — Anna Mae Blasetti, 85, of Oneonta, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at the A.O. Fox Hospital Nursing Home.
She was born on Sept. 20, 1916, in Carbondale, Pa., the daughter of Augustino and Maria (Drago) Giardina.
She married Enrico W. Blasetti on Oct. 25, 1941, in Carbondale. He passed away on Nov. 1, 2001, after 60 years of marriage.
Anna was a homemaker but for a number of years she worked at the Oneonta Dress Factory.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church and a former member of the Rosary Society. She also, along with her husband, was a member of the Italian American Club.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Louis and Cheryl Blasetti of Oneonta, Fred and Lorraine Blasetti of Granada Hills, Calif., and Mary Ann and Ron Gleason of Chatham; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by a sister, Joya Glad and her husband, Charles, of Lady Lake, Fla.; a stepsister, Mary Wiedeman, and her husband, Carmen, of Oneonta; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Oneonta, with the Rev. Paul Roman, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the spring in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.
Friends may call at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta, on Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at which time the family will be in attendance.
Memorial contributions may be made to A.O. Fox Hospital Nursing Home, for the construction of a resident sunroom.

Samuel J. Lutz
NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla. — Samuel J. "Jack" Lutz, 72, passed peacefully into eternal life Jan. 22, 2002, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born Jan. 13, 1930, of Eunice Harrington and Samuel G. Lutz in Roxbury, N.Y., he graduated from Roxbury Central School in 1948, graduated from New York Technical School and joined his parents' business.
Upon his father's retirement, he became president of S.G. Lutz & Son Inc., an oil distributor and heating contractor.
Jack was a leader and humanitarian, contributing much of his time and dedication to many civic and service organizations, including the Boy Scouts of America, National Ski Patrol, Roxbury Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Squad, United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and Rotary International.
He was also a director of the National Bank of Roxbury, member of the town of Roxbury and Delaware County planning boards and active on various committees of the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church.
Upon retirement in 1988, he moved to North Palm Beach, Fla., and lived there for 12 years before relocating to Port St. Lucie, Fla., in 2001.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kay Pindar Lutz of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Roxbury, N.Y.; two sons, John A. Lutz and his wife, Holly Nelson Lutz, of Glenmont, N.Y., and Samuel F. Lutz and Suzanne Howell of Palm Springs, Fla.; and seven grandchildren, Meredith, Brittany, Aislinne, Elleanor, Sean, Kevin and Connor.
A memorial service will be held on Jan. 26, 2002, at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church on Prosperity Farms Road in North Palm Beach.
A celebration of life service will be held on May 18, 2002, at 1 p.m. at the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church in Roxbury, N.Y.

Norman Blakeslee
DELHI — Norman L. Blakeslee, owner of Norman's Studio in Delhi, died Jan. 23, 2002, at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.
He was born May 1, 1932, in Grand Gorge, son of Samuel B. Blakeslee and Maude E. Layman.
He graduated from Grand Gorge Central School in 1950, and Albany Business College.
He served four years in the U.S. Navy, and upon discharge, he moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, where he owned and operated a photographic studio.
After returning to the area he owned and operated studios in Grand Gorge, Margaretville and Delhi.
Devoted husband, father and grandfather, Norman is survived by his wife, Vivian; a son, Dale Blakeslee and his wife, Chris, of Crawfordville, Fla.; a daughter, Kelly Blakeslee of Delhi; and three granddaughters, Lindsay and Brittany of Crawfordville and Felicia of Delhi. Also surviving are two brothers, Larry C. Blakeslee of Venice, Fla., and Samuel C. Blakeslee of Duluth, Ga.; a sister, Sheree DeBoer of Kissimmee, Fla.; his stepmother, Virginia Minnerley of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Delhi.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Delhi, with the Rev. Arvid Whitmore, officiating.
Burial will be in Margaretville Cemetery in Margaretville at a later date.
The family will receive their friends at the Hynes Funeral Home in Margaretville on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, from 2 to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Delhi.
Donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of the First Presbyterian Church in Delhi, in memory of Norman L. Blakeslee.

John Reynolds
MCLEAN, Va. — John Mackey Reynolds, 84, of McLean, Va., and Springfield Center, N.Y., died of a stroke at Sibley Hospital on Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, in Washington, D.C.
He was born in Oneonta, N.Y., to George I. and Jane Mackey Reynolds.
In 1939, he graduated from Wesleyan University, where he was a member of DKE fraternity. He received his law degree from Yale University and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1942.
For the next four years he served in the Army, in the Security and Intelligence Division.
He married Anne Douglas Cromartie in 1947.
After the war, he worked for the Office of the Legislative Counsel of the United States Senate. He retired in 1973 as a senior counsel.
During his retirement, he and his wife, Anne, divided their time between their residence in McLean, Va., and their home on Lake Otsego in Springfield Center.
Survivors include his wife; three children, John Allen Reynolds of Great Falls, Va., and Anne Reynolds Day and William George Reynolds of McLean, Va.; four grandchildren, John Douglas Reynolds, Sheila Mayo Reynolds, Katherine Anne Day and Jonathan Barton Day; and one great-grandchild, Erik John Reynolds.
A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Oneonta, N.Y., on Feb. 1, 2002, at 1 p.m.
Jennie M. Newell
WALTON — Jennie M. Newell, age 79, a lifelong Delaware County resident and formerly of Walton, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, in Sidney, where she had been residing recently.
She was born June 11, 1922, in Bloomville, to James and Blanche Slater Yearry.
She was married to Henry J. Newell, who predeceased her in 1989.
She was a housekeeper at The Hospital in Sidney.
Jennie M. Newell is survived by two sons, Henry J. Newell Jr. of Sidney Center and Thomas Newell of Walton; and daughter, Diane Cobane of Walton; a brother, James Yearry of Delhi; and sisters, Hazel Furguson of Delhi, Margaret Dougherty of Meridale and Lillian Coss of Walton. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lyon Bros.-Way Inc. Funeral Home, at the corner of North and Delaware streets in Walton, where friends may call Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, from 2 to 4 p.m., and when the family will be in attendance, from 7 to 9 p.m.
The graveside service will be Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at 9 a.m. at the Walton Cemetery, with the Rev. Carl Butler, of the Pines Brook Baptist Church, officiating.
Mary Langston
MANHATTAN — Mary Morris Langston, 56, of Manhattan, New York City, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at her residence.
She was born July 1, 1945, in New York City, the daughter of William Maxwell Morris and Elise Augustine Morris.
She married Scott Langston on June 27, 1964, in New York City. He survives her.
Mary was a homemaker in her own home.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Langston, of New York City; and several cousins.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, from the Andrett Funeral Home, 353 Second Ave., New York City. A memorial service will also be held at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta, in the spring with burial of ashes at the Glenwood Cemetery in Oneonta, in the Morris Family Plot.
Local funeral arrangements are by the Bookhout Funeral Home of Oneonta.
Irene B. Sullivan
Irene B. Sullivan, 74, of Watertown, died Friday afternoon at her home. She was under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County.
Mrs. Sullivan was a reading aid at General Brown Elementary School, Brownville, N.Y., for 10 years.
She was born in Jefferson, N.Y., Dec. 21, 1927, a daughter of Irving and Bertha Vroman. She was educated in schools in Unadilla, N.Y.
She married Mardon B. Sullivan on June 11, 1949, in Mount Vision, N.Y.
Mrs. Sullivan attended the First United Methodist Church in Watertown and the Henderson United Methodist Church, Henderson, N.Y.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Thomas, of Brownville; two daughters, Sharon MacCue, of Philadelphia, N.Y., and Sandra Anderson, of Grand Rapids, Minn.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles Vroman, of Richmondville; and several nieces and nephews. Six brothers and two sisters predeceased her.
Spring graveside services will be in Mount Vision Cemetery, Mt. Vision.
There are no calling hours.

Richard Tracy
MORRIS — A memorial service for Richard Leon Tracy of Morris, who died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at 3 p.m. at the Johnston Funeral Home, in Morris, with the Rev. Joseph Fiske officiating.

Evelyn R. Norton
WEST ONEONTA — Evelyn Ringrose Norton, 92, formerly of West Oneonta and Harpursville, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at the Oneonta, Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Oneonta.
Evelyn was born in Constableville on June 25, 1909, the only daughter of Dr. Frank A. and Julia (Adams) Ringrose.
She was a direct descendant of Nat Foster, the hunter, trapper and outdoorsman whose life was depicted in James Fenimore Cooper's "Leatherstocking Tales."
She graduated from Cornell University with a degree in education. While at Cornell, she met her husband Frederick D. Norton. They were married July 18, 1934, in Constableville.
Evelyn taught homemaking in the Watertown schools in her earlier years, Morris Central School during the 1950s and Harpursville Central School during the 1960s. The family moved from the Watertown area to West Oneonta in 1945, where they operated Norton's Farm Service until 1960 when they moved to Harpursville.
Evelyn loved to read and in her earlier years did a great deal of craft work, including hooked rugs and quilting.
She is survived by her children, Lyle F. Norton and his wife, Eve, of Nassau, Clyde L. Norton and companion, Mary Scully, of Selkirk, Anita Blackman of New Port, Richey, Fla., Bruce K. Norton and his wife, Frances, of Morris, Gay Norton Edelman and her husband, Martin, of Red Bank, N.J.; and a daughter-in-law, Claire Tabor, of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Evelyn was especially fond of her 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. A cousin, Spencer Ringrose, of Rome; her only niece, Mary Bickel, of Ingils, Fla.; and special friends, Ed and Gloria Bennett, of Harpursville, also survive her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Norton, who died June 24, 1987; her only brother, Foster Ringrose; a son, Dale F. Norton; and a grandson, Jeffrey S. Norton.
The family wishes to express its sincere thanks to the staff of the Oneonta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care and kindness shown Evelyn during her time there.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Cook Cemetery in West Oneonta at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, it is the family request that donations be made to one's favorite charity in her memory.
