Mariam Kathleen Katie Erhardt
CAMBRIDGE - Miriam Kathleen "Katie" Erhardt, 19, of Ash Grove Road, was taken into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008. Her death was caused by injuries sustained in a single car automobile accident.

Katie was born May 31, 1989, in Albany, N.Y., the youngest child of Michael David and Catherine May (Bates) Erhardt.

She graduated from Cambridge Central School, Class of 2007. She was currently attending Hudson Valley Community College on scholarship. She was studying art.

Frank Cocozza
WARRENSBURG and SARATOGA SPRINGS - Frank Cocozza, 90, formerly of Warrensburg and currently residing on Moore Avenue, Saratoga Springs, passed away, Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at the Saratoga Hospital.

Born Nov. 27, 1918, in Glasgow, Scotland, he was the son of the late Gio and Rosa (Salvatore) Cocozza.

Frank met his bride-to-be, Nan Gall, in Glasgow and the couple wed on Dec. 27, 1946.

Benjamin E. Stanilka
TICONDEROGA - Benjamin E. Stanilka, 91, of Ticonderoga passed away on Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, after a brief illness at the Inter-Lakes Health Nursing Home in Ticonderoga.

Born in Ticonderoga on July 21,1917, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Theresa (Holaka) Stanilka.

Ben spent his life in Ticonderoga, and in August 1942 married Corrinne E. May and raised nine children.

Ruth M. Spring
INDIAN LAKE - Ruth M. Spring, age 96, of East Main Street, died Thursday evening, Jan. 16, 2009, at Adirondack Tri-County Nursing Home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller Funeral Home, 35 West Main St., Indian Lake.

Grace Taylor
QUEENSBURY - Grace Taylor, 92, of Queensbury passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at Stanton Nursing and Rehab Centre in Queensbury.

She was born April 17, 1916, in Lake Luzerne, the daughter of the late Clarence and Lottie (St. John) Crannell.

Grace married Madison  Taylor on Oct. 5, 1935, in Lake Luzerne, enjoying 57 years of marriage before his death in 1993.

Irma M. Lyng
CORINTH - Irma M. Lyng, 84, of Fifth Street, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at her home following a long illness.

Born on Nov. 25, 1924, in Lake Luzerne, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Myrtle (Turner) Smith.

She married Donald Lyng in Corinth. The couple resided on Fuller Road in Corinth for many years. He died in 1976.

Leon R. Mathis
SCHUYLERVILLE - Leon R. Mathis, 85, a resident of Pearl Street, passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y.

Born March 11, 1923, in Schuylerville, he was the son of Leon R. Mathis Sr. and Leona Ramsden Mathis and had been a lifelong resident.

Leon was a 1941, graduate of Schuylerville Central School.

Eugene A. Schnyder
SHUSHAN, N.Y. - The Schnyder and Eddy families are saddened by the loss of Eugene A. Schnyder. He died unexpectedly, in the comforting arms of his wife, Sandra.

Gene was born in New York City, the son of Swiss immigrants Eugene and Maria (Thut), and brother of Margarita.

He proudly served in World War II after graduating from the New York State Maritime Academy.

Kenneth H. Patrick
Northampton, Mass. - Kenneth H. Patrick, 71, of Northhampton, formerly of Rupert, Vt., passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at the Northampton VA Medical Center with his family at his side.

Patrick was born Oct. 8, 1937, in Granville, N.Y., the son of the late Harold G. and Ethel (Farrar) Patrick. He graduated from Salem  Washington Academy and served his country from 1957 to 1960 in the U.S. Air Force. Patrick had worked for the Danby Marble Quarry. While living in Rupert, he was a member of the Rupert Congregational Church.

He is survived by his brother- and sister-in-law, Stanley and Martha Patrick, of Salem; an aunt, Barbara Armstrong, of Rupert, Vt.; and an uncle, David Armstrong, of the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington as well as several nieces and nephews.

Pia Marie Quinto
Lake Luzerne, N.Y. - Pia Marie Quinto, of Lake Luzerne, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at the Kaaterskill Long Term Care Facility in Catskill, N.Y.

Pia was born in New York City on Sept. 7, 1914. She was the daughter of Catherine and Joseph Calvelli. Pia married Carlo S. Quinto on May 26, 1940, in Manhattan, and moved to Corinth, N.Y. in September of 1941. They moved to Lake Luzerne in 1950.

Pia was a communicant of the Church of The Holy Infancy in Lake Luzerne and a member of the Catholic Daughters.

Muriel Hannon
LAKE GEORGE - Muriel Hannon, 95, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Westmount Health Facility.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 9, at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 50 Mohican St., Lake George.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, at Stafford Funeral Home Inc., 90 Montcalm St., Lake George.

Edward Charles LeClair
PORT HENRY, N.Y. - Edward Charles LeClair, age 64, of Port Henry, N.Y., passed away on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, Vt.

He was born on Oct. 29, 1944, and was the son of Victor and Bessie (Staunches) LeClair. Eddie was a lifelong resident of Port Henry and well known in that area as a self-employed contractor. He was a friendly, helping individual who displayed great conscientiousness and loyalty toward family, friends and people to whom he provided services.

Eddie greatly enjoyed family (He had a special spot in his heart for Connor) and contacts with his many friends. He was very appreciative of the loyalty of his employee, John Slattery.

M. Lucille Lange
CAMBRIDGE - M. Lucille Lange, 95, formerly of Mountain View Drive, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at the Vermont Veteran's Home in Bennington, Vt. She was the widow of Frederick W. Lange, who died in 1998.

Born Jan. 29, 1914, in Dolgeville, N.Y., she was the daughter of Samuel and Margaret (Allen) Jernigan. Lucille grew up in Brooklyn where she graduated from Girls Commercial. She worked for ten years at G. E. I. C. (General Motors) in New York City as a statistician.

She met Fred while working in New York City. They were married in November 1941.They lived for several years in Wyoming while Fred was in the U.S. Army, where their first son was born.

Leonard Robert Abare
NEWCOMB - Leonard Robert Abare, 60, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born June 9, 1948, in Ticonderoga, he was the son of Leonard and Agnes (Seney) Abare.

Leonard was a graduate of Newcomb Central School, Class of 1966, and graduated from Adirondack Community College, Class of 1968. He trained at Plattsburgh State University and Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh as a radiology technician. He worked for 27 years in the field at many locations including Glens Falls Hospital. He was employed at an A.R.C. home in the Glens Falls area. For many years he and his parents operated a ceramic business in Fort Edward. He also worked for the Town of Newcomb in various capacities.

Gordon F. Fisk
QUEENSBURY - Gordon F. Fisk, 83, formerly of Sugarbush Road, passed away Feb. 12, 2009, at the Orchard Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Granville following a long illness.

Born on Jan. 2, 1926, in Albany, he was the son of the late Frank and Agnes (Casey) Fisk.

After his graduation from Hudson Falls High School, he joined the U.S. Army, where he served in Germany at the Battle of the Bulge during World War II.

Mary K. Minon
HULETTS LANDING -

Mary K. Minon went to the loving arms of her Lord on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009. She died peacefully at her home with her family at her side after a long illness.

Marjorie Esther (Coffin) Loveland
HARRISBURG, Pa. - Marjorie Esther (Coffin) Loveland passed away on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, in Harrisburg, Pa., at the age of 88.

Marjorie was born in Glens Falls, N.Y.

She attended Glens Falls Academy and graduated from Glen Falls High School in 1939. She lived most of her life in Schenectady, N.Y., where she worked at General Electric Company for about 40 years.

Neal Laing Hulett
GRANVILLE, N.Y. - Neal Laing Hulett, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Neal was born on Sept. 4, 1919, in Chicopee Falls, Mass., the son of Neal D. and Azuba (Ayres) Hulett.

Neal attended the Mechanical Institute which is now known as the Rochester Institute of Technology. While in Rochester attending school, he worked for Kodak. He graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering and took a position with ChanceVaught aircraft manufacturer. At the early age of 20, he became the night shift supervisor and was the final inspector for all Coursair aircraft as it came off the assemble line at the Bridgeport, Conn., factory. During this time Neal purchased his first airplane, a Piper J2 which he flew home to Granville and landed at the area which is currently the Carnival lot on Potter Avenue.

Andrew 'Lucky' Mehok Jr.
SCHUYLERVILLE - Andrew "Lucky" Mehok Jr., 79, of Schuyler Heights, passed away Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Born in Buffalo, Feb 26, 1929, son of the late Andrew and Angeline Mehok Sr., he graduated from Burgard Vocational High School in Buffalo.

He worked for Sylvania Electrical Products.

Helen I. Chant
ARGYLE - Helen Irene Marinkas Chant, 81, passed away quietly on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at Pleasant Valley Infirmary in Argyle, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

She was the youngest child born at home in Roebling, N.J., on Oct. 19, 1927, to Romanian immigrants Ernest and Maria (Hilper) Marinkas. She spent her life in Florence, N.J., until 1965, when the family relocated to upstate New York.

Mom worked all her life for the United Garment Workers until her retirement from J & J Lingerie in Glens Falls. She was a devout Catholic and pursued her religion faithfully. She was a communicant of St. Mary's of Glens Falls.

Gracie U. (Mosher) Brown Lylyk
FORT EDWARD - Gracie U. (Mosher) Brown Lylyk, 40, of McKie Street, passed away suddenly on Thursday morning, February 19, 2009 at the Glens Falls Hospital after a long struggle with Gillian-Barre disease, which affects the central nervous system.

Born at the Glens Falls Hospital on Dec. 28, 1968, she was the daughter of Wesley Mosher and the late Gracie (Cameron) Mosher.

Gracie attended Bolton Landing Central School, where she enjoyed court and field sports. She completed high school off campus.

Edward F. Rudolph
PORTER CORNERS - Edward F. Rudolph, 91, of North Greenfield Road, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at Saratoga Hospital.

Born on July 22, 1917, in New York City, he was the son of the late Charles and Grace (Black) Rudolph.

Mr. Rudolph graduated from high school in New York City.
