Edna Miller Wolniak, 83, of 630 Barnes Ave., Syracuse, died Thursday. She was a life resident of Syracuse. She retired from Park Brannock Device Co. after six years. She had worked at John Deere Co. for 17 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Survivors: Her husband, Nicholas; a son, Matthew of Baltimore; a sister, Emily Curry of Clyde; three brothers, Earl Miller of Clay and Arnold and Richard Miller, both of North Syracuse; three grandchildren. He was a life member of Pastime Athletic Club. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion in Manlius. His wife, Katherine E., died in 1986.Survivors: Two sons, Richard J. of Camillus and James of Syracuse; a grandchild. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Whelan Bros. Funeral Home. Helen C. Gronau DeGarmo, 94, of St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center, Syracuse, died Aug. 31. She was a life resident of Syracuse and graduated from Solvay High School. She retired in 1987 as a secretary with the New York State Department of Employment and worked previously at Allied Chemical, Brown-Lipe-Chapin and Tops-N-Temps. She was a member of Fairmount Community Church and its Merry Widows and Martha Circle. Her husband, James T., died in 1984.Survivors: A daughter, Marilyn Knowlton of Bluffton, S.C.; a son, Stephen J. of Buffalo; a sister, Eleanor P. Bethka of Syracuse; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Friday in Fairmount Community Church, 4801 W. Genesee St., Fairmount. John B. Evans, 73, of Lake Road, Tully, died Thursday. He was a life resident of Tully. He was an operating engineer for 30 years and a member of Operating Engineers Local 545 in Syracuse. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2354 and American Legion Post 936, Tully. He also was a member of Cortland Moose Club 1512.Survivors: His wife of 53 years, the former Frieda M. She retired in 1993 as a construction supervisor after 15 years with P&C Foods and previously was an executive secretary at Agway for nine years, at Lipe Rollway for four years and at R.D. Cecilia Wehrum Lamb, 95, of Camillus died Saturday at Iroquois Nursing Home. Born in Brooklyn, she lived in Freeport and Southold before moving to Camillus 16 years ago. She graduated from Erasmus Hall High School, Maxwell Training School and the State University College at New Paltz. She retired in 1972 after 45 years as an elementary school teacher in Wantagh and Brooklyn. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Camillus, and a member of its Golden Agers, Art Guild and Rosary Makers. She also was a member of the New York state and Onondaga County retired teachers associations. Her husband, Renzie W. Sr., died in 1965.Survivors: Two daughters, Jane L. Sullivan of Camillus and Nancy M. Farley of Derby, Kan.; a son, Renzie W. Jr. of Williamstown, Mass.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Buranich Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Burial, Cemetery of the Holy Cross. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 5431 W.
