Edward J. "Ed" West, 78, of Amber died Wednesday. Born in Dunkirk, he attended the University of Buffalo. He retired in 1986 as an insurance claims manager after 25 years with Uniguard Insurance Co. He was a Mason and a member of Fairmount Community Church. He was member of the Power Squadron and a former member of Otisco Rod & Gun Club. He was an Army veteran of World War II. She was a member of the Columbiettes, VFW Post 5885 Ladies Auxiliary and the Military Order of the Cootie. Her husband, Philip, died in 1996.
