He was a life member of Elks Lodge 830, Fulton. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 569, Fulton, and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Fulton.Survivors: A sister, Marian Ferris of Fulton; a brother, Carl of Chicago. Edward J. "Ed" West, 78, of Amber died Wednesday. Born in Dunkirk, he attended the University of Buffalo. He retired in 1986 as an insurance claims manager after 25 years with Uniguard Insurance Co. He was a Mason and a member of Fairmount Community Church. He was member of the Power Squadron and a former member of Otisco Rod & Gun Club. He was an Army veteran of World War II. A son, John P., died in 1979.Survivors: His wife of 19 years, the former Becky Frank; three daughters, Judy Green of Canton, Ohio, Carol Empie of Lowville and Elizabeth Mellomida of Fairfield,  Calif.; two sons, Thomas of Hayward,  Calif., and Paul of Paxton, Mass.; a brother, Richard Van Reemen West; 16 grandchildren; a great-grandchild. Joanne C. Zaryski Amedio, 56, of 144 W. Van Buren St., Oswego, died Thursday. Born in Oswego, she graduated from St. Paul's Academy and Oswego Catholic High School. She was a dispatcher for Oswego Police Department and a bookkeeper with Green's Department Store. She was a member of the Columbiettes, VFW Post 5885 Ladies Auxiliary and the Military Order of the Cootie. Her husband, Philip, died in 1996. Survivors: A daughter, Mary Jo Major of Clay; a son, William of Oswego; three sisters, Sally Cafalone of Oswego, Susan Chamberlain of Camillus and Diane Monet of Sterling; four brothers, her twin, Joseph Zaryski of Boston, and Francis, Paul and David Zaryski, all of Oswego; four grandchildren. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at Mexico Methodist Church. Her husband, Donald L., died in 1951. Survivors: A son, Donald L. Jr. of Mexico; a sister, Virginia Miller of Syracuse; a brother, Ralph Miller of New Hampshire; two grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker, a communicant of St. Daniel's Church and a member of its Renew Group, and was a member of National Catholic Women's Union. Survivors: Her husband, John L.; five sons, John E. of Cohoes, Gary J. of Pittsfield, Mass., Terry E. and David M., both of Liverpool, and Robert F. of Georgetown; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Virginia Daniszewski Celletti, 78, formerly of 432 Lionel Ave., Solvay, died Wednesday at Stonehedge Nursing Home in Chittenango. She was born in Syracuse. She had worked at General Electric Co. She was a communicant of Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and a former member of St. Cecilia's Church and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at both churches. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Club. Her husband, Dominic, died in 1989. Survivors: Two daughters, Barbara Carr of Cicero and Donna Ambriati of Baldwinsville; a son, James of East Syracuse; two sisters, Margaret Marposon of Westvale and Sarah Brown of Fairmount; eight grandchildren. He retired in 1999 after 35 years as a professor of automotive technology at Morrisville. He then worked for Central New York Coach Mobility Division of Chittenango. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Morrisville and a former member of Society of Automotive Engineers. Survivors: His wife of 37 years, the former Barbara Gale; two daughters, Deborah Mitchell of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., and Sandra Groves of Morrisville; his father, Charles P. of Georgetown; a sister, Marie Herbolt of West Eaton; three grandchildren.
