Born in Mexico City, Mexico, she graduated from North High School and Syracuse Normal School. She was a former teacher with the Syracuse City School District and a former sales consultant at Chappell's. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, worked in the rectory and was a member of the church's Altar and Rosary Society. Her husband, Frank G. Sr., died in 1984.Survivors: A daughter, Martha Neumann of Syracuse; three sons, W. Emerson of Cincinnati, John E. of New Hampshire and Frank G. Jr. of Syracuse; two sisters, Kathleen A. Ryan Hawk of Mattydale and Mary A. Ryan Daly of Liverpool; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Services: 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Sharon Williams Roberts, 44, of Schroeppel Road, Pennellville, died Sunday. She was born in Alexandria Bay. She was a registered nurse for several years, working at Loretto and in private duty.Survivors: Her husband, Thomas; a daughter, Jamie at home; two sons, Joseph and Payne, both at home; her mother, Bernice Williams of Fulton; a sister, Gail Hall of Jordan; a brother, Scott Williams of Fulton. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at New Comer Family Funeral Home. Burial, Chase Cemetery. Calling hours, 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. Delbert J. Ryder

Delbert J. Ryder, 80, of 14 Rainbow Shores Road S., Pulaski, died Friday. He was born in Syracuse. He retired in 1984 as a carpenter with Carpenters Local 12, Syracuse. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Post, both in Baldwinsville. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Liverpool. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received the Bronze Star.Survivors: His wife of 56 years, the former Rosamond Daniels; three daughters, Deborah Parkes of Sandy Creek and Nancy Ryder and Lisa Rivers, both of Pulaski; two sons, Delbert Jr. of Huntington Beach,  Calif., and Paul of Charlotte, N.C.; five sisters, Margaret Gearsbeck of Pulaski, Mary Phillips of North Syracuse, Audrey Cummings of Auburn, Beverly Monteleone of Liverpool and Elaine Pieotrowski of Clay; four brothers, Frank of Vermont, Carnes of Florida, Robert of Syracuse and Charles of Utica; nine grandchildren. John H. Schoen

John H. Schoen, 79, of Mattydale died Sunday. He was born in Syracuse. He retired in 1987 after many years as the manager of a local long-haul trucking company. He was a life member of the Mattydale Volunteer Fire Department, serving for more than 50 years. He was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church, Mattydale. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. His wife of 57 years, the former Ruth M. Cleveland, died in 2001; a son, John H. Jr., died in 1967.Survivors: A daughter, Cynthia M. Musumeci of North Syracuse; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Margaret's Church, Roxboro Road, Mattydale. Burial, North Syracuse Cemetery. Melvin A. Silliman

Melvin A. Silliman, 86, of Norman Avenue, Mexico, died Saturday. He was born in Syracuse. He retired in 1983 as an engineer for Niagara Mohawk after more than 40 years. He was a member, elder and former treasurer of First Presbyterian Church of Mexico and a member of the Mexico Lions Club and New Haven Senior Citizens. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion in Mexico. His wife, the former Barbara Ellithorpe, died in 1993.Survivors: A daughter, Susan Silliman Smith of Mexico; three sons, Marc of Baldwinsville, William of Liverpool and John of Katy,  Texas; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Presbyterian Church of Mexico. Burial, Mexico Village Cemetery. Laura Peck Brown, 96, of Oneida died Saturday at Oneida Healthcare Center's Extended Care Facility. Born in Tupper Lake, she lived in Chadwicks before moving in 1965. She graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School and St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital and past president of St. Elizabeth Alumni Association. She attended St. Patrick's and St. Joseph's churches in Oneida. She was a member of the Catholic Nurses of the Syracuse Diocese and volunteered for the American Red Cross for more than 50 years. Her husband, W. Warner, died in 1954; a son, Paul T., died in 1991.Survivors: Three daughters, Margaret Brown of Oneida, Mary Morris of Peachtree City, Ga., and Sister Elizabeth Brown of Okolona, Miss.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, 260 Main St., Oneida. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Clarence G. Gilling, 103, of Route 90, King Ferry, died Saturday. He was born in Aurelius. He retired in 1971 as an owner and partner of Gilling & Nedrow Farm Implement Co. in King Ferry. He had also worked at International Harvester Co. in Auburn and owned and operated a furniture refinishing and repair business in King Ferry. He was an 82-year member and past master of Cayuga Lodge 221 Free and Accepted Masons in Scipio Center and was past patron and member of Scipio Chapter 173 Order of the Easter Star. His wife, the former Lula Lawson, died in 1984. Survivors: Several nieces and nephews, including Jean Y. Hickey of Auburn, Virginia Y. Muggleton of Skaneateles and Ernest G. Young of Port Byron. Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Shakelton Funeral Home. Burial, Soule Cemetery.
