Marion Graham Bailey Smith of Syracuse died Aug. 19. Born in Ogdensburg, she lived in Syracuse most of her life. She was a homemaker. Her first husband, Floyd M. Virginia Garrett Spence, 77, of Tryon, N.C., died Saturday. Born in Syracuse, she attended Syracuse University and graduated from University of Michigan. She lived in Skaneateles 30 years and had a summer residence in Clayton. She was a homemaker and had been a guidance counselor at Syracuse University and an English teacher at Pierce Secretarial School in Boston. She had also been director of placement at Simmons College.Survivors: Her husband, John W.; two daughters, Elizabeth Weeks Harris of Syracuse and Cynthia Weeks Kim of Chantilly, Va.; two grandchildren. Sarah Palmer Stone, 90, of Auburn Nursing Home, Auburn, died Monday. Born in Red Creek, she lived there most of her life before moving to Auburn in 1995. She was an aide for Red Creek Central School District. She was a member of Red Creek Westbury United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women and Philathea Class. Beverly Ryan Brazell, 76, of Liverpool, died Tuesday. Born in Syracuse, she graduated from Eastwood High School in 1942. She retired in 2000 after 20 years at the state Developmental Service Organization. She had worked at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center and was a former driving instructor at Safeway Driving School. She was a communicant of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Liverpool. Joseph J. Coppo Jr., 47, of New Canaan, Conn., and West Lake Road, Skaneateles, died Sept. 11. He was on the 104th floor of the World Trade Center North Tower in New York City when an airplane crashed into the building. Born in New York City, he was a graduate of Maria Regina High School in Uniondale and 1975 graduate of Manhattan College, where he was the pitcher and captain of the baseball team. He was vice president at Cantor Fitzgerald for the past year. He was the founder of Municipal Bond Partners, a Wall Street bond firm. He had worked at Smith Barney in Los Angeles. His father, Joseph, died previously. Survivors: His wife of 24 years, the former Patricia A. Brennan; a daughter, Kathleen N. Coppo of New Canaan; three sons, Joseph III, Matthew and John K., all of New Canaan; his mother, Jean Coppo of Baldwin; a sister, Mary Anderson of West Islip. Doris M. Corbin Gulino, 72, of 2161 Patterson Road, Marietta, died Tuesday. Born in Syracuse, she lived in Marietta for 30 years. She retired in 1999 as president and owner of Fesko's IGA in Borodino after 22 years. She was a member of Spafford Area Historical Society. A son, George C. Jr., died in 1993. James H. Lillis, 68, of Cicero died Tuesday at Loretto. Born in Syracuse, he lived in Palermo and North Syracuse before moving to Cicero more than a year ago. He worked in security at Niagara Mohawk in Syracuse. He had also worked for the Oswego and Onondaga County sheriff's departments and for Onondaga County Correctional Facility at Jamesville. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Survivors: His wife, the former Pauline I. Joseph F. Morgan, 47, of Forest Park, Ga., died Thursday. Born in Syracuse, he graduated from Nottingham High School in 1972 and held various jobs in Syracuse. He had lived in Seattle and Syracuse until moving to Georgia in 1997. He had worked for Delta and Carter and Associates in Atlanta at the time of his death. He was a Navy veteran. Survivors: His wife, Mary L. The Rev. Thomas E. Neary, 83, of Syracuse, died Monday at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Born in Syracuse, he attended Solvay High School, Cazenovia Junior College, Syracuse University, St. Andrews Seminary and St. Bernard's Seminary. He was a Roman Catholic priest with the Diocese of Syracuse and served as an associate priest at St. Michael's on Onondaga Hill and St. Mary's in Skaneateles. He served as pastor at Our Lady Rosary in Hannibal, St. Patrick's in Jordan and Most Holy Rosary in Syracuse, from which he retired. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a chaplain with various fire departments. He was an Army veteran of World War II. She was a former member of Southwood Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a counselor at Elmcrest Children's Center and worked with Literacy Volunteers. Her husband, Waldo, died in 1991.
