Raeburn A. Woolson O'Connor, 82, of 684 W. River Road, Oswego, died Thursday. Born in New Haven, she attended New Haven schools. She worked for Taggart Industries for four years and was a communicant of St. Paul's Church, Oswego. Her husband, James, died in 1983.Survivors: Three daughters, Connie O'Connor, Jeanette Flack and Judy Smith, all of Oswego; a sister, Bernetta Parkhurst of Oswego; three grandchildren. John E. Paoli

John E. Paoli, 85, of Lakeland died Friday. Born in Syracuse, he was a life resident of the Syracuse area. He retired in 1989 as a pressman for The Syracuse Newspapers after 23 years. He was on the executive board of International Printing Pressmans Union Local 284M and was president of Local 66. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church and a member of Tyrol Club and Adelphi Club. His wife, the former Helen Gebhardt, died in March.Survivors: Three daughters, Joanna Paoli of Syracuse, Charlene Poli of North Syracuse and Mary Jo Skiba of Vestal; two sons, Chris of Fairmount and Michael of Clifton Park; a sister, Mary Daley of Solvay; eight grandchildren. Services: 9 a.m. Monday at Lucians' Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Church. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, DeWitt. Stuart H. Shatraw, 76, of Rochester died Friday. Born in Old Forge, he lived in Syracuse more than 30 years before moving to Rochester in 1990. He worked for Carpenter Rigging & Contracting in Syracuse for 15 years.Survivors: His wife, Jeanette K.; a daughter, Katherine Morley of Virginia Beach, Va.; three sons, Stuart of Mesa, Ariz., Timothy of Syracuse and Scott of Clinton; nine grandchildren. Gordon O. Adsit, 81, of Emerick Road, Baldwinsville, died Thursday at Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was born in Baldwinsville. He was a member of Local 545 in Syracuse for 35 years. He was a former member of Seneca River and Plainville Volunteer Fire Departments and Baldwinsville VFW Post 153. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife, Nora; three daughters, Sandra Bulson of Brewerton, Barbara Harmer of Central Square and Pamela Adsit of Florida; two sisters, Betty Mielnicki of Syracuse and Joan Clark of Florida; a brother, John of Mayfield; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Peter & Paul Church, the Sicz Club and Laborers International Local 103 from Geneva and was a member and past president of the Ukrainian National Club. Survivors: His wife, the former Valerie Regets; two daughters, Patti Clark and Denise Bailer, both of Auburn; three sons, Michael and David, both of Auburn, and Thomas of Fairview Heights, Ill.; a sister, Doris Carter of Auburn; a stepsister, Dorothy Lowe of Kirkland, Wash.; a stepbrother, Franklin Baim of Victoria, British Columbia; 12 grandchildren. He was a member of the Monday and Thursday night golf leagues at Glennwood Golf Club, West Monroe. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. A son, Robert Jr., died in 1989. Survivors: His wife of 44 years, Helen; two sons, Michael L. of West Monroe and Gary A. of Lansing, Mich.; four grandchildren; a great-grandson. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Traub Funeral Home. Born in County Wexford, Ireland, she was a summer resident of Hitchcock Point in Bridgeport. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church and a former member of the Mother's Club at St. John the Evangelist School. Her husband, James W. II, died in 1997; a daughter, Mary T. Burbank, died in 1995. Survivors: Nine daughters, Sally M. Seeley of East Syracuse, Kathleen Cahill, Sheila J. Piraino, Maureen Markwardt and Coleen Shaughnessy, all of Syracuse, Sarah E. Parent of Hamburg, Pa., Patricia M. Boyle of Chittenango, Arlene M. Costello of Georgia., and Sister Ellen McDonald of Maryknoll; a son, James W. III of Simsbury, Conn.; a sister, Ann Darigan of Ireland; a brother, Brother Gerard Sinnott of Ireland; 39 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren. Rolland E. "Rip" Pearson, 80, of 2316 Amber Road, Amber, died Thursday. Born in Denham, Minn., he lived in Amber 40 years. He graduated from Minnesota School of Business in 1951. He retired in 1986 from Auer Tobacco Co. and had also been a salesman for Eastern Plywood & Door Co. in Syracuse. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Otisco, was past president and treasurer and was a 30-year member of Amber Fire Department, and was a former member of Otisco Lake Rod & Gun Club. He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife of 51 years, the former Irene Gorney; two daughters, Mary Anne Spencer of Skaneateles and Susan Pearson of Canaan, N.H.; four sisters, Hazel Olson of Tucson, Ariz., Ann Pearson of Bloomington, Minn., Ethel Ostrom of Cambridge, Minn., and Edith Montbriand of Minneapolis; three grandchildren. Services: 9:15 a.m. Monday at Norris Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Otisco. Burial, St. Patrick's Cemetery. Jane Sloper Polney, 86, of Arlington, Va., died Monday. Born in Altmar, she received a bachelor's degree from Oswego State Teachers College and a master's degree from Syracuse University in 1963. She retired in 1979 as a teacher in the Syracuse school system. She had taught at Copenhagen Central School from 1948 to 1957 and taught sixth and seventh grades at Edward Smith School from 1957 to 1979. Her husband, the Rev. N. James, died in 1983. Survivors: A daughter, Sarah Babazadeh of Arlington; a sister, Adela Clark of Fernpark, Fla.; a brother, Harris Sloper of LaFayette; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. He retired in 1997 from the Office of Community Development for the city of Oswego. He had also worked at General Electric Co. in Florida and Syracuse and at Oswego Warehousing for many years. He and his wife owned and operated Cabaret Restaurant from 1980 to 1997. He was a longtime member of Oswego Rotary Club and was an Air Force veteran of World War II. His wife, Nancy, died in 1998. Survivors: A daughter, Lisa Rodak of Oswego; a son, Joseph G. of Oswego; two sisters, Helen Bressler of Oswego and Jane Heretyk of Fulton; a brother, Walter of Florida. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Homer and Burns-McCauliffe Post 465 American Legion in Homer. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Dorothea A., died in 1979. Survivors: A daughter, Regina M. Heater of Merritt Island, Fla.; three sons, Richard L. and Bert E., both of Homer, and W. He retired in 1979 as a hospital and nursing home inspector and psychiatric social worker for the state of New York after 25 years. He was of the Christian faith. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and received a Bronze Star.Survivors: His former wife of 38 years, Mary Clark Burton; two daughters, Mary Burton of Chicago and Carolyn Behm of Marietta; four sons, James and John, both of San Francisco, Matthew of Skaneateles and Paul of Indiana, Pa.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
