Her husband, Arthur, died in 2000.Survivors: Seven daughters, Bootsie  Jones of Virginia, Sandra Williams and Patricia Libertore, both of Oneida, Kathleen McCarthy of Manlius, Diana Perry of Durhamville and Linda Gaut and Cheryl Meeks, both of Chittenango; four sons, Arthur E. Jr., Richard M. and Timothy P., all of Chittenango, and Gregory J. of Bridgeport; a sister, Marjorie DeMore of Central Square; 29 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild. Dr. William J. Kleis, 95, of state Route 49, Constantia, died Thursday. Born in Milwaukee, he lived there until moving to Constantia several months ago. He graduated from Marquette University Medical School. He retired in 1981 as a self-employed family medicine physician after almost 50 years. He was a communicant of Christ the King Church in Wauwatosa, Wis. He was an Army veteran of World War II.Survivors: His wife of 65 years, the former Marion Desing; a daughter, Judith Boland of Clarendon Hills, Ill.; a son, Dr. William R. of Constantia; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Services and burial: Will be in Wisconsin. Watson Funeral Home, Central Square, has local arrangements.

Robert E. "Bob" Mattis Sr., 76, of 121 Bramley Drive, Camillus, died Thursday of lung cancer. Born in Lowville, he graduated from Watertown School of Commerce. He retired in 1982 as manager with the international division of Carrier Corp. after 36 years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society.Survivors: His wife of 50 years, the former Phyllis Basker; a daughter, June Clark of Camillus; two sons, Robert Jr. of Jamesville and William of Camillus; two sisters, Cathryn Kozloski and Elizabeth Allen, both of Lowville; a brother, Leo of Summerfield, Fla.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Services: 9:15 a.m. Monday at B.L. Bush and Sons Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, DeWitt. She retired several years ago after 25 years with Prosser Farms Nursery in Kirkville. She was a member of North Manlius United Church in Kirkville. Paul E. "Hummer" Pavelka, 58, of 5326 Broad St., Durhamville, died Friday. Born in Oneida, he graduated from Oneida High School. He owned and operated Durhamville Garage, an excavating contracting service, and Team Hummer, a snowmobile repair and parts shop. He was chief of the Durhamville Fire Department for five years. He was a member of Tri-Valley Trail Riders Club.Survivors: His wife of 37 years, the former Mable Stevens; two daughters, Tammy Nodine of Durhamville and Mishelle Emerson of Oneida; a sister, Ellen Smith of Oneida; five grandchildren. Herbert W.  Taylor Jr., 85, of Fayetteville died Thursday at Rosewood Heights Health Center. Born in Haverford, Pa., he graduated from Haverford College and the University of  Pennsylvania and received a doctorate in chemistry from Rutgers University. He retired in 1981 as a patent agent for Bristol Myers Co. after 30 years. He was a member of Park Central Presbyterian Church, Onondaga Golf & Country Club, Century Club and Gyro Club. His son, H. William III, died in 1985.Survivors: His wife of 60 years, the former Elizabeth Emack; two daughters, Elizabeth  Taylor  Jackson of Needham, Mass., and Ann  Taylor Brown of Austin,  Texas; two sisters, Polly  Taylor of San Francisco and Catherine  Taylor Eckfeldt of Kennett Square, Pa.; eight grandchildren. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday in Park Central Presbyterian Church, 504 E. Fayette St., Syracuse. The family will greet friends at the church following the service. Cynthia J. Mosher Marshall, 45, of Crow Hill Road, Bouckville, died Thursday of cancer. Born in Hamilton, she graduated from Madison Central School in 1974 and attended Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. She and her husband owned and operated Innerspace Dive Shop in Big Pine Key, Fla. She was a certified dive master and was a licensed U.S. Coast Guard ship's captain for vessels up to 50 tons. She was a recognized artist member of National Wheat Weaver's Association and was a former member of Oneida Women's Recreational softball league. Survivors: Her husband, John; her mother, Joan Mosher of Bouckville; a sister, Vicki Migonis of Hamilton; three brothers, Doug Mosher of Chester, Va., Terry Mosher of Bouckville and Gary Mosher of Seattle, Wash. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, was a member of Oneida Elks Lodge 767 and the Powhatan Club. He was a fourth degree knight with Knights of Columbus, E. Bart Hanifin Council 473. Survivors: His wife, the former Alice Cross; a daughter, Theresa Taber of Syracuse; a son, Donald F. of Oneida; two brothers, Robert of New York City and Andrew of Rome; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
