Arnell K. Grice of Syracuse; seven sisters, Joanne and Debra Stephens, Arnell Milner, the Rev. Denise Hunter and Valerie Crawford, all of Syracuse, Stephanie Fontaine of New Jersey and Evette Milner of Ohio; four brothers, the Rev. Jonathan Stephens and the Rev. Kevin Stephens, both of Syracuse, the Rev. Lawrence Stephens of Ohio and the Rev. Leonard Stephens of  Texas; two grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater Love in Christ Church. Burial, Onondaga Valley Cemetery. Calling hours, 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the church, 2026 Midland Ave., Syracuse. DeWitt Memorial Funeral Home, Jamesville, has arrangements.

Catherine  Taylor Odom, 63, of 500 Park St., Syracuse, died Sunday. Born in Norfolk, Va., she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Golden Age Group of the Salvation Army Senior Day Care. Her husband, Augustus, died in 1997; a daughter, Lavoris Odom, died in 1964.Survivors: Two daughters, Vanessa  Taylor and Helena Scott, both of Syracuse; two sons, Eduardo of Syracuse and Rickie of Crystal River, Fla.; a sister, Frances  Taylor of Norfolk; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren. Jesse C. La Porte, 79, of Lea Lane, Syracuse, died Tuesday at James Square Nursing Home. He was born in  Pennsylvania. He retired in 1975 as a shipping clerk after 10 years with O.M. Edwards in Syracuse. He was employed previously at United Board and Carton Corp. in Syracuse. He was an Army veteran of World War II.Survivors: His wife of 47 years, the former Barbara Hoxsie; a daughter, Deborah Spuches of Weatherfield, Conn.; two sons, Raymond J. and James E., both of Syracuse; a brother, Richard of Buffalo; six grandchildren. Memorial Services: 3 p.m. Friday at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. No calling hours.

Dr. Dwight E. Prior, 47, of Candee St., Phoenix, died Tuesday. Born in Syracuse, he graduated from J.C. Birdlebough High School in Phoenix, State University College at Canton, Cornell University and National College of Chiropractic Lumbar in Chicago. He was a chiropractic doctor in Three Rivers Plaza in Phoenix since 1981. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Baldwinsville, the American and New York chiropractic associations, New York State Holstein Association and Alpha Zeta at Cornell University.Survivors: His wife of eight years, the former Robyn A. McKie; two sons, Matthew J. and Joshua E., both of Phoenix; his father, Norman of Phoenix; his mother, Paula of Pennellville; a sister, Renee C. Baxter of Hastings; four brothers, Mark A. of New Salem, Craig T. and Scott E., both of Phoenix, and Kelly M. of Pennellville. She bowled in the Atlantic City League.Survivors: Her husband of 21 years, Ellis; three sons, Roby Snyder and James and William Sardella, all of Syracuse; four sisters, Anne Allen of Illinois and Cathy Conte, Diane Jandreau and Barbara Herb, all of Syracuse; a brother, Daniel Garrow of Syracuse; four grandchildren. Donald J. Sixt Sr.

Donald J. Sixt Sr., 80, of Cleveland Place, Canastota, died Wednesday at Oneida Healthcare Center Extended Care Facility. Born in Olean, he graduated from Springville High School. He retired from the Social Security Administration after many years and had worked in Rochester, Batavia, Albany and Utica. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 132 in Gowanda, American Legion Post 431 in Springville and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8154 in Zephyrhills, Fla. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Army Reserves.Survivors: His wife of 13 years, the former Patricia Kane; two daughters, Rebecca Daggar of Rochester and Deborah Burney of Ontario; five sons, Donald Jr., Michael, Kenneth and Paul, all of Rochester, and David of Whitesboro; his former wife, Betty Zimmer of Florida; a brother, Richard of Springville; 13 grandchildren. Services: Noon Saturday at J. Homer Ball Funeral Home. Calling hours, 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home, 201 James St., Canastota. She worked at Conn Knitting Mill for 15 years, Marathon Corp. for seven years and Columbia Mills for 25 years. She was a member of Church of the Resurrection.Survivors: Three cousins, Robert and Richard Moody, both of Oswego, and Paul Moody of Hannibal. Ralph R. Davis

Ralph R. Davis, 87, of 5563 Route 11, Homer, died Thursday. Born in Pharsalia, he graduated from South Otselic High School and attended Cornell University. He lived in Cincinnatus until moving to Homer in 1944 to operate a 400-acre dairy farm. He was a breeder of purebred Holsteins using DAVAR as his herd prefix. He was the first farmer in Cortland County to receive the Progressive Breeders Award during four different years. When his farming career ended, he worked with Charles Alexander of Edgecort Machinery Farm Equipment StoreSurvivors: His wife of 62 years, the former Marjorie Hine; two daughters, Judith  Johnson of Cortland and Barbara Van Dusen of Homer; two sons, Jerry W. of Clayton and Jon R. of Elmira; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Wayside Rest Cemetery, Pharsalia. Burial, Wayside Rest Cemetery, Pharsalia. No calling hours. Black Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, has arrangements. Anne Daino Falvo, 89, formerly of 1222 Park St., Syracuse, died Thursday at James Square Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Syracuse. She owned Royal Electric with her husband. She was a member of St. Therese Society and Our Lady of Pompei Seniors. She was past president of the Mothers Club at North High School and  Jefferson School. Her husband, Patsy, died in 1998.Survivors: Two daughters, Marietta F. Blasi of Syracuse and Anne F. Petragnani of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
