He retired in 1983 from account classifications at Niagara Mohawk after more than 30 years. He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Mattydale/Hinsdale Seniors, Ukrainian National Home and Ukrainian National Association Branch 39. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife of 58 years, the former Cornelia Benderski; two sons, Michael of Camillus and Patrick of Syracuse; a sister, Julia Hanley of Elmira Heights; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Her husband, Peter A., died in 1997.
