He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Mattydale/Hinsdale Seniors, Ukrainian National Home and Ukrainian National Association Branch 39. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife of 58 years, the former Cornelia Benderski; two sons, Michael of Camillus and Patrick of Syracuse; a sister, Julia Hanley of Elmira Heights; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She was a charter member of Hastings Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, member of the Hastings-Parish Presbyterian Church, the Central Square-Hastings-Parish-Palermo Senior Citizens and the Oswego County Volunteer Fire Ladies Auxiliary. Her husband, Peter A., died in 1997.
