Her husband, Harland, died in 1995; a son, James P., died previously.Survivors: Two daughters, Ann S. Gniady of Lacombe, La., and Jennifer S. Meek of New Haven; two sons, R. Michael and Timothy J., both of Oswego; two sisters, Mary S. Hubbard of Charlotte, N.C., and Sue S. Mosseau of Largo, Fla.; two brothers, Robert and Joseph Shene, both of Fine; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Harter Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church. Burial, Mexico Village Cemetery. Calling hours, 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 9  Washington Ave., Mexico.

Doris L. Shultz Bentley, 98, formerly of Academy Street, Skaneateles, died Wednesday at Iroquois Nursing Home, Jamesville. Born in Marcellus, she lived in Skaneateles most of her life and graduated from Skaneateles High School's Teacher Training Class and Syracuse City Normal School. She taught in area schools including Skaneateles Central School for 32 years and was a member of the county and state retired teachers associations. She was a member of the Skaneateles First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star for more than 70 years and was a member and volunteer for the Auburn Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Her husband, William, died in 1989.Survivors: Several cousins, nieces and nephews. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, 49 Jordan St., Skaneateles. Burial, Lake View Cemetery. Laura M. Haefner Bruin, 78, of Syracuse, died Wednesday. Born in Syracuse, she graduated from North High School. She retired in 1959 as a bookkeeper at the former Mochican Grocery Store. She was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church. She was previously an officer of the Parent Teacher Organization in the Syracuse City School District, a member of North Side Neighborhood Watch and a former inspector for the Board of Elections. Her husband, Bernard I., died in 1998.Survivors: A daughter, Joan M. Becker of Liverpool; two grandchildren. He was body shop manager at Longley Brothers Dodge in Fulton and had owned Max Custom Collision in Hannibal. He was a founding member and past president of Country Cruising Car Club.Survivors: His companion, Ida Corradino, and her son, Matthew Duplessis; a daughter, Wendy DeGroff, a student at St. Lawrence University; two sons, Nick and Alex, both of Oswego; his parents, Howard and Eunice Creighton DeGroff of Hannibal; two sisters, Connie DeGroff and Holly Cummins, both of Hannibal; three brothers, his twin brother, Mark, of Alabama, Howard of Fulton and Jeffery of Hannibal. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in North Syracuse, was a life member of Syracuse Turners and was a special deputy in Onondaga County for several years. He was an Army veteran of World War II.Survivors: His wife of 56 years, the former Helen Miller; a daughter, Margaret Myrto of North Syracuse; two sons, Joseph H. Jr. of Cortland and Charles M. of Arizona; a sister, Henrietta Auer of Syracuse; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two stepgrandchildren.
