Daniel J. Vaughn, 65, of Liverpool died Tuesday. Born in Syracuse, he graduated from Cathedral High School and attended St. Andrew's Seminary in Rochester. He retired in 1999 as a code enforcement officer for Fulton. Prior to that, he was a Syracuse firefighter for nine years and then a code enforcement officer for New York state and Syracuse. He was a communicant of Christ the King Church and a member of Circus Model Builders Club.Survivors: His wife of 44 years, the former Sandra M. McDonald; five daughters, Mary P. Barroga of Selmar,  Calif., Debora M.  Taylor of Clay, Theresa A. Verrette of Cicero, Janet S. Mautz of Baldwinsville and Kathleen E. Walsh of Brewerton; two sons, Dr. Michael P. of San Antonio,  Texas, and Stephen J. of Liverpool; a sister, Nancy A. Shulkin of Cave Creek, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren. Services: 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners and 11 a.m. in Christ the King Church. Burial, Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. George R. Weske

George R. Weske, 65, of Summerfield, Fla., died Sunday. Born in Oswego, he lived in Fulton until moving away earlier this year. He retired as a painter for with Painters union Local 38 in Oswego. He was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church and was a former member of New York State Baseball Umpire Association and New York State Soccer Officials Association. He was a member of Fulton Polish Home Club.Survivors: His wife of 46 years, Elizabeth; four daughters, Elizabeth Davenport of Fulton, Margaret Foscue of Huntsville, Ala., Patricia Clancy of Batavia, Ill., and Christine Schremp of London, England; two sons, George F. of Cordova, Tenn., and Robert J. of Westlake, Ohio; three sisters, Betty Phillips of Forestport, Alberta Ambuske and Ann LeClair, both of Fulton; 11 grandchildren. Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Church, Fulton. All Faiths Cremation Society, Lady Lake, Fla., has arrangements.

Edward J. Furletti

Edward J. Furletti, 70, of 13933 Stevenson Road, Red Creek, died Monday. He received a bachelor's degree in biology education, a master's degree in education and a teaching certificate from State University College at Oswego and did graduate study work at Syracuse University and Indiana University. Also, after retiring, he was interim superintendent of Geneseo BOCES. Becker Funeral Home, Red Creek, had arrangements.

Vern F. "Shorty" Arnold, 82, of 424 Randall Ave., Oneida, died Thursday. Born in Hannibal, he attended Hannibal public schools. He retired in 1982 after 41 years as a press operator in the knife plant at Oneida Ltd. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.Survivors: His mother, Frances Switzer Arnold of Oneida; three sisters, Doris Tharp of Florida, Jean Danboise of Oneida and May Syke of North Carolina; five brothers, Bob Arnold of  Texas, Raymond Arnold and Dick Arnold, both of Rome, Chuck of Norwich and David of Clockville. Charles R. Foster, 67, of 6611 state Route 31, Durhamville, died Wednesday. Born in Sherrill, he graduated from Verona High School. He retired in 1997 as a meat cutter at P&C Foods, Cicero. He was a member of American Legion Post 169 in Oneida and the Two Cylinder Club of Hastings. He was an Army veteran. A son, Timothy, died in 1990.Survivors: His wife of 39 years, the former Ruth Bie; two daughters, Maureen Spenard of Durhamville and Karen Horodnick of Verona; three sons, Charles J. of Rome, Mark of Durhamville and Matthew at home; a brother, Robert of Stockbridge; five grandchildren.
