LUCIANO, ISABELLE - Isabelle Luciano of Eastchester died August 10, 2001 at the age of 77. She was born in Mt. Vernon on January 18, 1924 to Nicholas and Margaret Granozio. Beloved wife of John Luciano for 54 years. Loving mother of Joseph Luciano and his wife Barbara, dear grandmother of Joey, Jimmy and Kim Luciano. Sister of Margaret Piotrowski, Virginia Columbo, Anna Dondero, Mary Rogliano and Daniel Granozio. Her sisters Jesse Granozio and Sue Romano died earlier. MALONEY, MRS. ANNA MARY - Mrs. Anna Mary McLaughlin Maloney, age 84, of Rosebay Court, Wilkesboro, NC, widow of Thomas Maloney died Friday, August 10, 2001 at Britthaven Nursing Home. Mrs. Maloney was born in Philadelphia, PA, September 14, 1916 to Martin and Mary Lacey McLaughlin. Mrs. Maloney is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Nielsen of Wilkesboro, NC; two sons, Thomas Maloney of Brewster, NY, and Martin Maloney of Canyon Lake, CA; one brother, Martin McLaughlin of Williston Park, NY; eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. MARSELLA, GAETANO F. - Gaetano F. Marsella, Ret. Col. USAF, a former Mamaroneck resident who had been living in Houston, TX, died on August 11, 2001, at age 75. He was a full colonel in the United States Air Force where he served for 38 years, including the Korean War. Prior to that Col. Marsella served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He achieved the rank of Brigadier General in the Air National Guard, and later went on to work as a program analyst for NASA. Col. Marsella was the recipient of various service awards. He was a member of the G.I. Civic Association in Mamaroneck and a former member of the St. Vito's Parish Council. He was also a member of the Air Force Association, American Legion Post #490 and UNICO, an Italian Organization, both in Texas. survived by his loving wife Norma (nee Castagna). Cherished father of Guy F. Marsella of Texas, David Marsella of Georgia, and Jane Schumer of Mamaroneck. Loving brother of Anthony Marsella of Mamaroneck and Anna Notarangelo of Ballston Lake, NY. Devoted grandfather of four. He was predeceased by a brother, John Marsella, who was killed in action during World War II. MCCAFFREY, JOSEPH A. - Mr. Joseph A. McCaffrey, a resident of Orangeburg for 40 years, died on Sunday, August 12, 2001 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern at the age of 82. He previously resided in the Raven's Wood section of Long Island City. Mr. McCaffrey was born on August 29, 1918 in New York City to Joseph A. and Mary Catherine Galindo McCaffrey. During World War II he was a staff sergeant in the US Army and was a medical technician in the 801 Medical Air Evacuation Squadron in the Philippines. Mr. McCaffrey was part owner of McCaffrey Bros., a trucking warehouse in Jersey City, NJ, for 30 years before retiring in 1978. He is survived by his wife Marie Ann; his sons Joseph J. and Kerry and his wife Amy and his grandchildren Jillian and Quentin. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 10 am at St. Catharine's Church in Blauvelt with burial to follow at Frederick Loescher Veteran's Cemetery in New Hempstead, NY. NUTT, CARMELA (COCOCCIA) - Carmela Nutt (Cococcia) of Brielle, NJ, formerly of Peekskill died August 11, 2001. She was 83. Mrs. Nutt worked as a Registered Nurse for Peekskill Hospital, then later for the Veterans Hospital in Montrose, NY. Mrs. Nutt was born October 29, 1917 in Peekskill to Antonio and Angelina Astrologo Cococcia. She was educated in Peekskill and graduated from Peekskill High School in 1936. She earned a degree in nursing from St. Benedictine College, Kingston, NY, graduated 1939. She married Howard Nutt and has been divorced for a number of years before he passed away two years ago. Mrs. Nutt lived in Brielle, NJ upwards of 20 years. Before that she lived in Peekskill. She is survived by a brother John S. Cococcia of Somers, NY, a sister Mary Salvati of Boca Raton, FL; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by brothers Valentino and Fred Cococcia and a sister Helen Cococcia. O'DONNELL, NANCY - Nancy O'Donnell, 67, of Eastchester, NY, died August 11, 2001. Born March 29, 1934 to John Kelly and Marie Kelly in the Bronx, NY. She attended Mount Saint Ursula Academy She married James O'Donnell on October 16, 1954 in the Bronx, NY. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Scarsdale, NY and Saint Veronica's Guild. She was a 36 year resident of Eastchester, and previously of the Bronx, NY. survived by three children, Marianne Elliott of Trumbull, CT, Brian O'Donnell of Danbury, CT, and Kelly Reiter of Stamford, CT; three brothers John Kelly of Altamonte Springs, FL, Michael Kelly of Plymouth, MI, Joseph Kelly of Stony Point, NY, one sister, Eileen Walker of Bronx, NY; three granddaughters. STRACHAN, MARGARET (MCCORMICK) - 90, of Ardsley died while on vacation visiting family in California. Born in County Galway, Ireland to Timothy and Bridget Forde (nee Smyth). Margaret came to the United States in 1930. She moved to Ardsley in 1964 from Woodside, Queens. In 1937 Margaret married Christopher McCormick, he died in 1959. In 1964 she married Robert Strachan, he died in 1992. Mrs. Strachan was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Ardsley. She enjoyed traveling and cooking. Margaret is the mother and mother-in-law of Patrick and Shyrl McCormick of Belmont, CA, Christopher McCormick of Bronxville, Thomas McCormick of Ardsley, Kathleen and Ralph Lachmann of Saugerties, NY, Roberta Strachan of Pacifica, CA, Mary Strachan of Tarrytown, Maureen Strachan of Irvington, the late Matthew Strachan and Bernadette Sheehan. BARRESI, JOSEPH - Joseph Barresi, a life-long resident of Port Chester, NY, died August 11, 2001 of natural causes at United Hospital in Port Chester. He was 77. Mr Barresi worked as a supervisor for Modern Tobacco in Port Chester. He was with the company for twenty years. Mr. Barresi was born November 9, 1923 in Port Chester to Santo and Giovanna Barresi. He was educated in Port Chester and graduated from Port Chester High School. Mr. Barresi served in the U.S. Navy from 1941 to 1946. He was married to Mildred Barresi at Holy Rosary Church in Port Chester. Mr. Barresi was a parishioner at Holy Rosary and Corpus Christi Churches. He is survived by a brother Anthony Barresi and a sister Josephine Barresi, both of Port Chester; and by several nieces and nephews. BOSCO, ROSEMARIE - Rosemarie Bosco of Sparkill, NY died peacefully at her home on August 10, 2001. She was born December 12, 1935 in Nyack, NY to Anthony and Rose (Sommella) Bosco. Rosemarie is survived by three sisters, Fortuna Maney of Southold, NY, Caroline Ryan of Haverstraw, NY, and Lucy Bosco of Sparkill; and also by three nephews and two nieces. BROPHY, GERTRUDE - Gertrude Brophy, a longtime resident of Tarrytown, NY died August 9, 2001, at Brandywine Nursing Home. She was 91. Mrs. Brophy was born in Irvington on November 30, 1909 to William J. and Clara Koster Cruthers. She graduated from Irvington High School. On June 9, 1946, she married Henry F. Brophy in Transfiguration Church in Tarrytown. She worked for over 30 years as a waitress in Tim Clune's Broadway Tavern which was in Tarrytown. Mrs. Brophy was a parishioner of Transfiguration Church where she was also a member of their Seniors Club. Mrs. Brophy was predeceased by her husband Henry. She is survived by her niece and caregiver Patricia Farrell of Ossining and several other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at COFFEY FUNERAL HOME on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. CAZZOLLA, JOHN - John Cazzolla, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, died on August 10, 2001. He was 86 years old. John was born on December 4, 1914 to Vito and Angelina Salome Cazzolla. He married the former Anna Kardash in St. Michael's Greek Orthodox Church in 1938. She survives. Mr. Cazzolla was employed as a Master Mechanic with Local 15 in NYC from 1936 to 1979. CHOFFLETTI, ROSARIA - Rosaria ("Sadie") Choffletti, a lifetime Harrison resident, died on August 10, 2001 at age 91. Born June 25, 1910 to Rosario and Anna (nee Sibundo) Laura. An active member of the Harrison Senior Citizens. On November 15, 1936 she married George Choffletti. He passed away in January, 2001. CLARKE, PATRICK J. - Patrick J. Clarke of Fort Pierce Florida formally of Garnerville passed away at Life Care of Port St. Lucie. He was 71. Patrick served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked until his retirement at Nynex in New York City as a telephone installer for 32 years. He was a member of St. Gregory Barbarigo Church in Garnerville. Patrick is survived by his wife, Joan F. DALY, HELEN D. (NEE MURPHY) - Helen D. Daly (nee Murphy), 86 years old of Glen Rock, NJ, entered into eternal rest on August 8th. Beloved wife of the late James T. Daly. She worked as a corporate secretary. Helen had a beautiful voice and loved to sing, often accompanied by her husband and friends. Helen enjoyed spending weekends with her husband at their beach house. DELCORO, MICHAEL - Michael DelCoro of Congers, New York died Friday August 10, 2001 at Nyack Hospital he was 89. Michael was born May 7, 1912 in Rapolla, Italy to Ralph and Maddalena DelCoro. He was an inventor owning and operating DelCoro Solar Energy System. DIPILLO, IRENE - Irene DiPillo, 72, of Ocala, FL died August 10, 2001 at her residence. She was born in Manhattan, NY and has resided in the Ocala area since moving there from Ossining, NY in 1998. Mrs. DiPillo was a retired Wrapper for the Meat Industry. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ocala, FL. FAHEY, MARY - Mary Fahey of Pearl River died Friday, August 8, 2001 at her home in Pearl River. She was 85. Mrs. Fahey worked as a Supervisor of Housekeeping for Rockland Psychiatric Center in Orangeburg, NY. She was with the Center for 30 years before retiring in 1980. Mrs. Fahey was born August 26, 1915 in Ogdensburg, NY, to Joseph and Helen Sovie Burns. She graduated from St. Mary's High School, Ogdensburg, NY, and she was a member of St. Mary's Church. Mrs. Fahey lived in Pearl River for the past 41 years. Before that she lived in Ogdensburg, from 1915 to 1960. Locally she was a member of St. Aedan's Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Fahey of Pearl River and three sons, James of Chestnut Ridge, NY and Michael and John, both of Pearl River, NY, four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. HAMILL, ROBERT GEORGE - Robert George Hamill, age 54. (Formerly of New Rochelle, NY). Mr. Hamill passed away on July 24, 2001 at the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in South Carolina. He was born in New Rochelle to Mr. and Mrs. William and Ann Hamill. Mr. Hamill was a member of the Grand Strand Baptist Church. He was a 1965 graduate of New Rochelle High School and went on to work for the Bronxville Police Department, where he retired in 1990. In addition to his parents of Greenville, SC, he is survived by his wife Diane DiAngelo Hamill of Myrtle Beach, SC (formerly of Harrison, NY), two daughters Diane and Kathy Hamill of New Rochelle, one sister Patricia Coscia of Bitley, MI, one brother Billy Hamill of New Hampshire, two step-sisters Donna Martin and Barbara Roberson of Easley, SC. FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HANDLED IN SOUTH CAROLINA. In 1992 Robert was a recipient of a liver through the SCOPA organization. Memorial donations may be made in his honour to the South Carolina Organ Procurement Agency (SCOPA) at 1064 Gardner Road, Suite #105, Charleston, SC 29407, or The National Kidney Foundation at 5000 Thurmund Mall, Suite #106, Columbia, SC 29201. HOGAN, MARGARET M. - Margaret M. Hogan 87 of Hawthorne, NY died on August 10, 2001 at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains, NY. She was born on December 24, 1913 to Patrick and Mary (nee Nugent) McConville. While living in Hawthorne Margaret was an active Parishioner of Holy Rosary Church where she was a member of the Christian Family Movement and the CYO and also was involved with the after school program at Holy Rosary School as a sewing instructor. Margaret was also a member of the Columbiettes, St. Domenic Council, Thornwood, NY and an accomplished seamstress. Margaret was predeceased by her husband James J. Hogan in August 2000, 1 sister Marie Gillen and 2 brothers Joseph and Thomas McConville. She is survived by 1 son James J. Hogan III of Pleasantville, NY, 3 daughters Mary Ann T. Warren of Croton, NY, Margaret M. Bradley of Basking Ridge, NJ and Kathleen M. Murphy of Orangeberg, NY, 1 brother Frederick McConville of Claremont, FL,also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Reposing Hawthorne Funeral Home on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9PM. Funeral Mass Holy Rosary Chruch, Hawthorne, NY on Monday 11:00AM. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
