EDGINGTON Clara Elizabeth Edgington, 100, Frankfort, Oh., passed away 4:10 p.m., Monday March 5, 2001 in Old Town Friendly Rest, Frankfort, where she resided since January, 1997. She was born in Ross County, Oh. on October 18, 1900, the youngest and last survivor of seven children born to Howard F. and Esther Keeton Bay. On January 28, 1928, she married Carl W. Edgington, who predeceased her May 28, 1988. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Eldon Aupperle, Toulon, Ill.; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Linda Edgington, Chillicothe, David and Barbara Edgington, Frankfort; son, Vernon Edgington, Hebron; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held in Frankfort Presbyterian Church, Friday, March 9, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery, near Lattaville. Friends may call at FISHER-ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 8, and 1 hour prior to service at Frankfort Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Clara Edgington Cemetery Assistance Corp., which Mrs. Edgington established for perpetual cemetery care, P.O. Box 282, Frankfort and/or to Concord Township E.M.S., P.O. Box 616, Frankfort, 45628.

ENGELHARDT Bernard Engelhardt, 90, of Lake Worth, Fla., died March 5, 2001. He was born March 25, 1911 in Jersey City, N.J. He was loved by everyone that knew him, his sense of humor coverted every stranger into a friend. He was a pioneer in the bus industry and best known in the field of transportation as President of the Downtown Bus Company in Jersey City. He was a member of the National Association of Motor Bus Operators, Washington, D.C., The New Jersey Motor Bus Association and Hudson County Safety Council. He was a 32nd degree Mason with Lodge #72, Free and Accepted Masons, affiliated with the New Jersey Consistory, Valley of New Jersey, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, a life-long member of B'nai Brith and the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. He retired to Lake Worth, Fla. in 1990. Mr. Engelhardt is survived by Charlotte, his loving (and patient) wife of 62 years; his sister, Anna Klinger; his daughters, Carol Engelhardt and Marjie Coopersmith (Jeff); 9 grandchildren, Amy Engelhardt (Alex Stein), Todd Engelhardt (Tanja Jones), Lorie FitzGibbon (Nate), Julie Myers, Jarred Coopersmith and Aubrey Coopersmith. There will be a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening, March 12, 2001 at the home of Marjie and Jeff Coopersmith, 260 South Parkview Ave., Bexley. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Leo Yassenoff Jewish Community Center.

EVANS Leonard Evans of Westerville, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at St. Ann's Hospital. Arrangements to be announced by SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, Gahanna.

FELLABAUM Mary V. Fellabaum, of Granville, born July 18, 1932 in Heathfield, County Sussex, England. She was married in 1952 to U.S. Air Force Sergeant William G. Fellabaum who had been stationed at Manston Air Base in Kent, and they lived in Paris until 1955, when they were transferred with their sons, Richard W. and David C., to Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka, Kan., where their their third son, John M. was born. In 1962, the family moved to Lockbourne Air Force Base, now Rickenbacker, in Columbus, Oh., and lived in Gahanna until 1975, when they moved to Harbor Hills, and then to Granville in the early 1980's. Mary operated an antiques business in Granville for many years, and was well known for her gardening skills, as well as her community involvement, both business and political. Her husband Bill died in 1944. Mary Fellabaum died Wednesday, February 28, 2001 in Grant Hospital, Columbus, Oh. She is survived by her 3 sons; her grandchild, Amanda Grace Fellabaum of Columbus; her sister, Paulina; brother, Michael Metianu, both of Kent, England; and her brother, Andrew Metianu of Bedfordshire. Contributions in Mary's name may be made to the Memorial Tree Fund c/o Granville Garden Club, P.O. Box 198, Granville, Oh. 43023 or to New Beginnings Domestic Violence Center. P.O. Box 786, Newark, Oh. 43055. A memorial gathering is planned for Sunday, March 11, 4:30-7 p.m. at the College Town House, 334 East Broadway in Granville.

GOOCH H. Richard Gooch, Ph.D., 73, of 11 E. Augusta Rd. #214, Greenville, S.C., died Saturday, March 3, 2001. Born in Calhoun, Ga. on August 27, 1927, native of Stow, Oh. Received his B.A. and Ph.D. from The Ohio State University with a Masters from Kent State. Worked for the Ohio Adult Parole Authority, served as a United States Chief Probation Officer, retired from the Ohio Parole Board. Member of First Church of Christ, Scientist. Surviving in addition to his wife, Alisa M. Gooch, are daughter, Toni Marie Hoffer and her husband, Bill of Easley, S.C.; son, Eric M. Gooch of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandson, Anthony Richard Anderson of Naples, Fla. A private family service was held on Sunday. Memorials may be made to the Southern Poverty Law Center, 400 Washington Ave., Montgomery, Ala. 36104.

HAMPTON Mr. James R. Hampton, of Rolling Prairie, Ind., Thursday, March 1, 2001, Lakeside Veteran Hospital, Chicago, Ill. Born October 10, 1950 in Winchester, Mass., son of Leonard R. and Dorothea Edgett Hampton. U.S. Navy Veteran of Vietnam. Attended The Ohio State University. Survived by son, Jacob Hampton of Mill Creek, Ind.; mother, Mrs. Leonard Hampton of Lakewood, Colo.; sisters, Linda D. Hampton of Columbus, Oh. and Sandra H. Dye of Colo.; brother, Russell S. Hampton of Aurora, Colo.; several aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father. No visitation. Memorial Service 9 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2001 at United Methodist Church of Rolling Prairie, Ind. Interment Marion National Cemetery. Memorials to James Hampton Scholarship c/o CUTLER FUNERAL HOME, LaPorte, Ind.

HART William Edward Hart, age 79, on Sunday, March 4, 2001. Survived by wife, Norma; daughters, Jeri Sue Zimmer and Sharon (Frank) Ackers; grandchildren, Lisa (David) Paxson and Tracey (Cheryl) Zimmer; great-grandchildren, Dara, Allison and Heidi Paxson. Preceded in death by his first wife Theda, brother Richard Hart and parents William and Loretta Hart. Mr. Hart was retired from Ohio Bell. Member of Ohio Bell Pioneers and Cypress Wesleyan Church. A U.S. Army Veteran serving during WW II. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St., where funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2001. Pastor Dale George presiding. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. HATFIELD Beryl Hatfield, age 73, on Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Survived by wife of 54 years, Retha; children, Karen (John) Wackenhuth, Rex (Debra) Hatfield and Karla (Curtis) Lowery; grandchildren, Amy and John Hatfield, Alex, Miranda and Justin Lowery; step-grandchildren, Christopher, Derrick and Darren George, Larry Wackenhuth; brother, Murhel (Florence) Hatfield; sisters, Ruth Gilliam, Avonelle (Jack) Hickman and Marilyn (Mick) Jose. Preceded in death by grandson Terry "T.J." Wallace Jr., 1 brother, 2 sisters and parents. Mr. Hatfield was retired from Prudential Insurance Co. Member of Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neoacacia Lodge #595, Scottish Rite-Valley of Columbus and Aladdin Shrine. Past-president of Franklinton Kiwanis Club and member of American Legion Post #614. The family will receive friends 3-9 p.m. Thursday at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. HAUEISEN Ermalee Haueisen, age 80, March 5, 2001, Riverside Hospital. Survived by husband, Robert B. Haueisen; son, Robert Ron Haueisen; daughter, Mrs. Steve (Joyce) Heft; grandson, Bryan; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several nephew and nieces also survive. Longtime volunteer at Riverside Hospital. Member Ascension Lutheran Church. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the WEIR-AREND FUNERAL HOME, 4221 N. HENSON Mikel Henson, 58, of Circleville, March 3, 2001 in Punta Gorda, Fla. 33 years service with Columbus Police Department. U.S. Air Force Veteran. Member of MOB and HMA Car Clubs. Survived by loving family, wife, Judy Henson; and Mikel Thomas Henson, Dawn Rene, Kevin, Carrie and Chloe Evans; mother, Emogene Henson; father, Homer Henson; sisters, Judy Cartnal, Joann Van Gorder and Cathy Camp; many nieces and nephews. HERN Paul Warren Hern, age 85, of Columbus, died Saturday, March 3, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Retired after 25 years as a Firefighter for Columbus Fire Department. Preceded in death by wife Frances Ruth Hern, parents, William E. and Bessie Davis Hern, two brothers and one sister. Survived by son, Eugene (Lynn) Hern and daughter, Judith (Delbert) Hammond; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Member of Central College Presbyterian Church and Neoacacia Lodge # 595 F.& A.M. Funeral Service 10 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2001 at RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME, 2383 N. HUNTER (BLAKE) Phyllis Marie Hunter, age 70, passed away March 5, 2001. Retired State of Ohio, had been very active with the Ohio Democratic Party. She was preceded in death by husband Robert Hunter, son Stanley and her parents Perry and Edna Hartranft. Survived by son, Doug (Rachel) Blake of Pickerington; daughter, Linda (Robert) Erler of Grove City; a loving grandmother to Stephanie and Sean Erler, Jessica, Michael, Stephen, Alexa, Scott and Brandon Blake; sister, Maxine VanFossen; brother, Richard (Barbara) Hartranft; nieces, nephews, other family. Johnson Barbara Annette Johnson, age 76, Saturday, March 3, 2001 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. Preceded in death by husband William H. Johnson, Sr., father Walter Lane and sister Betty Galloway. Survived by mother, Irma Williamson; step-father, Daniel Williamson; sons, William H. Johnson, Jr., Walter L. Johnson, Eric L. Johnson and Gerald (Elease) Johnson; daughters, Mrs. Naida (Jerome) Cephas, Miss Janera Johnson, Mrs. Shireen (Greg) Lockett, Miss Penny Johnson and Miss Candy Johnson; brother, Thomas Lane; many grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends. Service of Memory Wednesday 2 p.m., Chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. KETCHAM William L. Ketcham, age 76, of Dublin, died Saturday, March 3, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Bill was born in Rockford, Oh. where he graduated from high school, and then attended U.S. Army Air Force programs at Grinnell College and Kenyon College. He served four years during WW II in the Headquarters Battery, 97th Division Artillery in Europe and Japan. He was graduated from Miami University and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Bill was in sales at Columbus Coated Fabrics for over 30 years and in commercial sales at Patton Wallcovering until his retirement in 1987. He is survived by his wife of over 49 years, JoAnne; daughters, Jane (Scott) Steiner and Beth Ketcham; grandson, Robbie Steiner; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Stan Yaney; nieces, nephews, and many special friends. A Memorial Service and Reception will be held 4 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2001 at the Franklin Park Conservatory, 1777 East Broad St. The family would appreciate memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, Franklin County Unit, P.O.
