ESCOLAS Eugene James "Gene" Escolas, Sr., age 72, died March 7, 2001 at the Columbus Alzheimer's Care Center after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's Disease. A devoted husband and father, "Gene" was retired as Engineer and Manager of Technical Training of Columbia Gas. World renowned for his research and development in use of plastic pipe in the Gas Industry. He graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Veteran U.S. Army, Korean War. Born in Worcester, Mass. Preceded in death by parents Eugene and Mary. Survived by wife of 46 years, "Millie"; children, Gene Jr. (Donna) Escolas of Rockingham, N.C., Madeline (Karl) Bletzacker of Galena, Oh., Dr. John (Una) Escolas of Westlake, Oh., Roger (Julienne) Escolas of Hilliard, Phillip Escolas and Margaret (Scott) Hinch of Columbus; brothers, Richard (Ginny) of Oxford, Mass., Donald (Rose) of Elijay, Ga. and Louis (Kay) of Mountainair, N.M.; 13 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. No visitation. Memorial Mass will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 434 Norton Rd., 11 a.m. Monday. Fr. Shawn Corcoran, Celebrant. Arrangements completed by the JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 2693 W. EVANS Leonard F. Evans of the New Albany area went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at St. Ann's Hospital. He was born February 6, 1933 in Nashport, Ohio, to parents Oliver Frances and Clara Hazel Evans. A member of New Albany First Church of the Nazarene. Retired Mail Carrier with the United States Postal Service after 29 years of service. Also an employee with Meijers on Hamilton Rd. An Army and Air Force veteran. Along with his parents, Leonard is also preceded in death by a son Brian Lynn Evans. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Janet Evans; sons, Donald and David Evans; sister, Jean (Pat) Landrine; brother, Clifford Evans; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Leonard's Life and Homecoming will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2001 at the New Albany First Church of the Nazarene, 6000 Johnstown Rd., New Albany with Pastors Larry McNutt and James Lanning officiating. Family will receive friends 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (on US Route 62, * mile northeast of Hamilton Rd.) Gahanna and Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service at church. Interment to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg. FOWLER James W. Fowler, age 73, of Columbus and formerly of Milford Center, Oh., died on Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at his residence, after a lengthy illness. Retired from sales in the industrial management industry. He is preceded in death by his parents George A. and Iva M. Hobbs Fowler, brothers Russell and Arthur Fowler, sisters Goldie Gregory, Edith Keel and Iva Lowe. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ila J. Elliott Fowler; children, Hetti and David Petty, Canal Winchester, Oh., Rose "Toni" and Michael Petty, Colorado Springs, Colo., James M. Fowler, Nampa, Id. and Wendy Huntsman, Dayton, Oh.; grandchildren, Becki Brinker, Bobbi Boyer, Matthew, Marc, Nathan, Todd and Jason Petty, James W. Fowler II, Jenni Beckwith and Kelli Huntsman; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Elza and wife, Edna Fowler, Urbana, Oh. and Walter and wife, Mae Fowler, Marysville, Oh.; relatives and friends. GRIMM Charles W. Grimm, age 62, Reynoldsburg, passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 7, 2001. He is preceded in death by his mother Virginia Estep. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda; sons, Michael "Chuck" (Debbey) Grimm and Paul Grimm; grandchildren, Michael, Amber, Corbin, Mackenzie and Madison; sisters, Charlotte (Robert) Dix and Carol (Pat) Gesualdo of Fla., of whom he was a triplet, and Judy (Steve) Taylor, Columbus; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary (Barbara) Grimm, Fla. and Dean (Linda) Gilkerson, Columbus; several nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the COTNER FUNERAL HOME, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, where his funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate.

GRUBER Carl William Gruber, Jr., age 75, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at his home in Worthington, Oh. He was retired from Ross Laboratories, where he was a lab technician. He also worked for Battelle Memorial Institute. Born in Parma, Oh., August 21, 1925. He graduated from Lakewood High School in 1943. He attended The Ohio State University and Franklin University in Columbus and Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn. Served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II. Member of Maple Grove United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by his infant daughter Carolyn Susan. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Frances Dorothea Gruber of Worthington; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Craig James of Columbus; daughter, Cynthia Ann Gruber of Visalia, Calif.; and grandson, Nathan James of Columbus. Calling hours will be held 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2001 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington, Oh. with a Funeral Service to follow at 7 p.m. Sunday. HARBOLD Mildred M. Harbold, age 93, of Columbus, Oh., formerly of Fairborn, Oh., passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2001 in the Manor at Whitehall Nursing Home. She was born on April 8, 1907 in Ransom, Ill., the daughter of the late William and Mary (Ramme) Berge. Mildred was a member of the Wright View Church of the Nazarene. Preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Rev. Lester C. Harbold in 1999, 2 brothers and 1 twin sister. She is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and LeRoy Cullen of Columbus, Oh., Donna and Ernie Hinson of Woodbury, Ga.; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mildred was a faithful wife, mother and Lord servant. The family will receive friends on Sunday in the BELTON FUNERAL HOME, Fairborn from 2-4 p.m., where funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday with the Rev. Timothy Riggs officiating. Burial will take place in the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City, Oh. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nazarene World Missionary Society, in Mildred's memory.

HOHENSTEIN Ruth Lieberman Hohenstein, age 97, died on Wednesday, March 7, 2001. Mrs. Hohenstein was a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, Pa. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley Hohenstein. She is survived by daughter, Joan H. (Robert) Bergman of Tucson, Ariz.; son, Daniel I. Hohenstein of New Bern, N.C.; daughter, Susan H. (Oberman) (Bernard) Kanter of Columbus, Oh. Mrs. Hohenstein is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Shiva will be observed at the home of Susan and Bernard Kanter on Wednesday, March 14 and Thursday, March 15. The family requests contributions in her memory be made to Pittsburgh Vision Services, 300 S. Craig St., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15213.

Jackson Sister Eleanor M. (Thompson) Page Jackson, called home to glory Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at O.S.U. Hospital. Retired Supervisor at the White Castle System after 30 years of service. Member of Seventh Avenue Baptist Church, where she was a devoted member, Sunday School teacher, Kitchen Committee and Nursery Attendant. Graduate of Class of 1950, East High School. Preceded in death by parents Newton A. Thompson, Lola Evans Thompson and Laura B. Thompson, brother Kenneth Barringer, sister Opal, in-laws Rev. Thomas Sr. and Perina Page, Tommy Jr. (Frances) Page and Richard A. Page. She leaves to mourn her legacy, loving and devoted son, Gregory A. Page; daughter of love, Rhonda Hadden. She was a grandmother of Tina Turner, Ronnie and Shawn Page, Buddy (Roxanne) Thompson, Larry (Jean) Thompson, Hariett (Dilworth); sister-in-law, Nancy Page; brother-in-law, Sterling (Sherry) Long; a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, special friends and adopted children. Remains will rest in state after 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2001, Seventh Avenue Baptist Church, E. 7th Ave. and N. High St. Service in memory conducted by Pastor Emmett Moore Jr. at 10:30 a.m. Family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow the service at Union Cemetery Mausoleum. KRENZKE Lind Joel Krenzke, age 38, of Hilliard, March 7, 2001. Preceded in death by father Bob and, sons Bobby and Eric. Survived by loving wife of 18 years, Pam; daughter, Betsy; mother, Sally, LaPorte, Ind.; brothers, Kerry (Darlene), Honolulu, Brian (Marilyn), Indianapolis, Ind. and Scott (Gloria), LaPorte, Ind.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Doris Krenzke, Rolling Prairie, Ind., Tami (Dan) Osborn, Ft. Collins, Colo., Carl Hinderer, Parma; Pam's parents, Carl and Kay Hinderer, Hobart, Ind. and Betsy's godparents, Connie and Carl Smallwood, Upper Arlington, Karen and John Kasich, Westerville. Lind is also survived by many friends, including his co-workers at World Com and the children whose lives he touched daily, including all of his nieces and nephews; godchildren and the children he met through his many volunteer efforts. LI Thursday, March 8, 2001 at approximately 6:25 a.m., Run Li passed away. He died at the age of 75 at the Laurels of Norworth on North High Street. This kind-hearted man, that's well respected by family and friends, was born on April 10, 1925 (Lunar Calendar). To us he was a precious gift, and no one can ever replace him. He will always have a special place in our heart, that we will always cherish. He is married to Qiong Feng Wu and has 2 daughters and 1 son. The son, Guosheng Li is the youngest. The oldest is Feng Juan Li, whom is married to Man Cheung Li and has 3 daughters and 1 son. The oldest granddaughter is Tina Li; the others are Donna Li and Anna Li. The grandson's name is Jim Frey Li. The other daughter is Xiao Juan Li, whom is married to Si Xian Fang. They have 2 sons who are Peter Fang and Victor Fang, which are the youngest grandsons. The funeral will be held 1 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2001 at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. LOVEJOY Paul K. "Bud" Lovejoy, age 62, of Plain City, died suddenly Wednesday, March 7, 2001, Mt. Carmel East Emergency Room. Born March 10, 1938 in Portsmouth, Oh. Owner/operator of Plain City Super Duper, Inc., a family owned business for over 50 years. Member of Central Ohio Team Penners Association. He enjoyed family activities, horseback riding, motorcycles, camping and his dogs, Sadie and Joe. Preceded in death by parents Paul A. and Louise (McGraw) Lovejoy, sisters Pauline Eberle, 1994 and Mae Louise "Johnny" Lovejoy, 1948. Survived by wife, Mary Lou (Brush) Lovejoy of Plain City; children, Rex (Carol) Lovejoy, Paula (Rick) Bolen, Charlie (Cindy) Lovejoy, Lisa (Joe) Bishop and Tina (Jerry) Sullivan, all of Plain City; grandchildren, Paul, Wesley, Rachel and Ashley Lovejoy, Caetie and Laura Bolen, C.J. and Lyndsey Lovejoy, Bekah, Patti, Charles and Tara Bishop, Jered, Jacob and Cassidy Sullivan; sister, Billie Jean (Butch) Colflesh, Plain City; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. MISKIMEN Burt D. Miskimen, age 86, of Barry Trace, Dublin, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at Kobacker House, Hospice at Riverside Hospital, 3595 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, Oh. Born April 7, 1914 in Coshocton, son of the late Burt and Alice (Domoney) Miskimen. On February 5, 1938, he married Betty Sharples who preceded him in death on February 3, 1994. On May 18, 1996, he married Margaret M. (Brown) Clark, who survives. Graduate of Coshocton High School and the Carnegie Institute of Technology, College of Industries in 1934. He was a printer by trade, Sales Manager of Cincinnati Cordage & Paper Co., Vice President and District Manager of Brewer-Chilcote Paper Company, President of Domoney Corporation and Domoney Realty. He was founder and President of the Central Ohio Fibrositis Association and the USA Fibromyalgia Association. Member of the Columbus Power Squadron, where he is a Past Commander. Member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, Aladdin Temple, York Rite, Shrine, Magnolia Lodge, Ohio Chapter, Mt. Vernon Commandry and other masonic groups. He enjoyed boating and golfing. In addition to his wife, survived by 2 sons, James B. Miskimen, Atlanta, Ga. and Robert A. Miskimen and wife, Janice, Columbus; 1 daughter, Pattiann M. Moore and husband, Bruce, Cincinnati; 1 step-daughter, Margaret Gerczak and husband, David, Livonia, Mich.; 1 granddaughter; 1 step-grandson; 1 brother, Thomas A. Miskimen, Annapolis, Md.; 1 sister, Mary Elizabeth Emler and husband, Paul, Winston-Salem, N.C.; 1 niece; 2 nephews. He was the former owner of Sunbeam Heating & A/C, an amateur radio operator with the call sign KB8VN and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Sandy; his sons, Ed Revere (Melissa) Moneypenny, Sean Revere (Jill) Moneypenny; grandchildren, Rick and Alex Moneypenny; and his mother, Evalena. Preceded in death by his dad Paul Revere and son Richie Revere Moneypenny. Friends may visit 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday with funeral 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of THE DWAYNE R.
