MOORE James Daulton "J.D." Moore, age 61, of Columbus, lost his courageous battle against cancer on Thursday, March 8, 2001 at his residence. He was born on September 2, 1939 in Franklin Furnace, Oh. to the late Scott and Goldie (Leadingham) Moore. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, being stationed in West Germany and in Vietnam. He was a retired industrial refrigeration mechanic of S.M. Flickinger/Fleming and longtime member of Teamsters Union Local 284. He loved tinkering with and restoring classic cars and was a member of the Late Great Chevy Club and the Classic Car Club. In addition to cars, he loved fishing, boating, dogs, and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and wouldn't have traded a good day fishing for anything. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Raymond, infant brother and special dog Toby. Survived by his wife of 34 years, Heidemarie Moore; son, Michael Moore; daughter, Belinda (Michael) Reed; grandson, Aaron Reed, all of Columbus; sister-in-law, Anneliese Gardine; nieces, Carleen Gardine and Lisa Hernandez; nephews, John and Jimmy Gardine, all of Chicago; relatives in Nuremberg, Germany; many car club friends and special friend, Jetty. A speical thank you to the staff of Grant/Riverside Hospice, especially Celeste and Rick. No calling hours; a private service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grant/Riverside Hospice, 3535 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, Oh. 43214. Arrangements by COOK & SON-PALLAY FUNERAL HOME.

MOORE Kay Moore, formerly of Columbus, died March 7, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. Born February 11, 1912 in Mattie, Ky., he was preceded in death by his wife Iva Mae, parents Hezekiah and Delilah (Jordan) Moore of Louisa and 8 brothers and sisters. Mr. Moore was a charter member and deacon of the former Welch Avenue and Heritage Temple Freewill Baptist Churches in Columbus, a 32nd Degree Mason and a veteran of WW II, serving on a minesweeper in the South Pacific. He retired from Jeffrey Mining and White-Westinghouse. Survivors include his son, Larry A. Moore (Cheryl); step-grandchildren, Kendra and Ryan Iarussi, all of Harrison, Tenn.; sister, Nannie Short of Louisa, Ky. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Louisa Freewill Baptist Church. Revs. Venny Van Hoose and Ralph Hester officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemterey in Louisa. The family will receive family and friends on Friday, March 9, 2001 from 2-9 p.m. at the HESTON FUNERAL HOME, Louisa. The family would like to thank Janet and Frank Wheeler for the patient and loving care given him while he was a resident at the Wheeler Family Care Home, Louisa, Ky.

MUNCIE Mary F. Muncie, 59, of West Jefferson, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2001 in Arbors West Subacute and Rehabilitation Center, West Jefferson. She was born March 29, 1942 in Lithopolis, Oh. to the late Edward J. and Bessie F. (Smith) Muncie. Mary worked for Ann and Tony's Restaurant, Henry's Restaurant, was a member of West Jefferson Church of Christ in Christian Union, and a volunteer for Madison County Home Health Hospice. She is survived by a sister, Jacklin Stukey of Hilliard; 2 brothers, Richard (Darlene) Muncie of Columbus and Roger (Pamela) Muncie of Chesapeake; brother-in-law, Michael (Susan) Bennett; nieces and nephews, Shannon, Larry, Lisa, Christopher, Christina, Ron and Ricky; great-niece, Brittni; great-nephew, Jonathan; and numerous cousins. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, sister Marjory, brother Albert Lee and a nephew Mike. Funeral service will be held 8 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2001 in RADER-McDONALD FUNERAL HOME, West Jefferson with Paul Burgett officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Lithopolis Cemetery, Lithopolis, Oh. Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

McCONNELL Allison Rachel McConnell, passed away Monday, March 5, 2001 in Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Allison was the stillborn infant daughter of Craig and Jill (Alaback) McConnell of Galloway. In addition to her parents, Allison is survived by her grandparents, Lanny and Barb Alaback, John and Mary Jo McConnell, all of Louisville. A graveside service for Allison will be held Friday at 12:30 p.m. in Sunset Hills Burial Park with Msgr. Ken Miller officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Allison's memory to the March of Dimes c/o the PAQUELET-FALK FUNERAL HOME, Louisville, Oh., 330-875-2811.

McHALE John Anthony McHale, Jr., age 50, died March 7, 2001 at his residence after a short illness. Preceded in death by parents Cornelia and John A. McHale, Sr. Survived by wife, Patricia McHale; brothers, Michael (Sheri), Tim (Nancy) McHale; sisters, Linda (Kermit) Scott, Barb (Ben) Brookes, Patty (Charles) French, Becky (Alfred) Smith and Pam (Eric) Davis; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed (Brenda) Jordan, Pauline McCloud, Bert (Bud) Pigg, Don Jordan, Pam Bowen, Abenell (Richard) King; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Friends may call at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. Broad St., Friday 6-8 p.m., where service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday. Interment Beckett Cemetery, Commercial Point, Oh. NEAL Donald Herling Neal Sr., age 71, departed this life Saturday, March 3, 2001 at his home. Veteran of Korean Conflict and retiree from the City of Worthington. Preceded in death by parents Herling and Zelma Neal, 1 son and 1 daughter. Survived by wife of 31 years, Eyvonne L. Neal; daughters, Kathleen (Bruce) Wilson and Bernadette; sons, Jerry, Michael (Wanda), James, Donald (Lisa), Raymond, Francene), Rodney, Gary, Keith, Kim, Michael, Darrell and Donald, Jr.; sister, Constance (Willie) Blackmon; brothers, Morton and Richard (Naomi); 35 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial Service Saturday 5 p.m. in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long St. Pastor Timothy Clarke officiating. Family will receive friends 4 p.m. until time of service.

POWELL Sophia Nichols Powell, age 86, Tuesday, March 6, 2001, Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Member of Holy Cross Church. Retired bookkeeper and secretary with Turner-Sheppard. Preceded in death by foster parents Magdalena (Dzepine) Nichols Pitycz and Stephen Nichols, step father Harry Pitycz and special friend Angela Yurjako. Survived by 2 sisters, Elizabeth Horne of York, Pa. and Ann Novak of Barberton, Oh.; cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends received Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI FUNERAL HOME, 1068 S. High St. Prayer service 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Ohio Ave. Dr. William Reynolds and Dr. Arthur Cooley officiating. Interment Eastlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time of service. Arrangements by J.W. RICHARDSON Debbie L. Hedrick Richardson, age 44, of Orient, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at her residence. She is preceded in death by her parents Billie F. and Celess (Isaac) Hedrick and niece April Brown. Survived by brothers, Tommy "Carl" Brown of Columbus, Billy (Cindy) Hedrick of Orient; nephew, Carl M. "Charlie" Brown; nieces, Karla (Mark) Bell, Trina Muzingo, Cynthia Brown; great-nephews, Logan, Adam Bell; aunts, Rosie Bentley, Braska Hamilton and Pat Hedrick; special friends, Maxine Stepp, Bea Verity and Anita Lynch. The family would also like to give a special thanks to The Grant/Riverside Hospice and to the nurses and other staff members that helped Debbie. ROBERTS Joyce A. Roberts, age 66, of Columbus, died Thursday, March 8, 2001 at Grant Medical Center. Retired from Wonder Bread Bakery and a member of the Hamilton Meadows Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Preceded in death by mother Nanna Dunagin, father Woodrow Holbrook and sister Ann Campbell. Survived by husband, Bruce Roberts; daughters, Bobbie Roark, Samantha Bailey; sons, Glenn (Maryann) Mullins, Anthony Mullins, Dondie (Martha) Mullins, Phillip (Paula) Mullins, Jeremiah Roberts; brothers, Joe Holbrook and Scottie (Carolyn) Holbrook; sister, Lavonda (Jim) Gainey; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held for friends and family 6 p.m. Sunday at the Kingdom Hall, 2515 Lockbourne Rd. SCOTT Jack L. Scott, age 75, of Bel Air, Md., (former New Marshfield and Albany, Oh. resident), died late Tuesday evening March 6, 2001 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Md. after a brief illness. Born in Columbus, Oh. on July 6, 1925, son of the late John Lester and Josephine Linton Scott. He was a retired offset pressman having been formerly employed by McBee Corp., Athens, Buckeye Business Forms and Robin Enterprises both of Westerville, Oh. Mr. Scott was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran of WW II serving in the European Theatre and awarded 6 Bronze Stars. He is a member of K.T. Crossen Post 21 American Legion, Albany VFW Post 9893 and a 1943 graduate of Albany High School. Survived by wife, Margaret Beckler Scott; daughters, Jackie (Ed) Kincaid, Columbus, Oh. and Jody (Mike) Rittler, Bel Air, Md.; grandsons, Kyle Kincaid and Korey Kincaid, both of Columbus, Oh.; granddaughters, Kelsey Kincaid of Columbus, Oh. and Mallory Rittler of Bel Air, Md.; brother and sister-in-law, Dwight and Helen Scott of Lancaster, Oh. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, JAGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, Athens by Pastor Willard Love with burial in New Marshfield Cemetery. SEYMOUR Raymond R. "Smokey" Seymour, age 92, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at Columbus Health Care Center. WW II Army Veteran. Retired from Columbus Bolt and Forging. Survived by wife, Frances of 46 years; son, Barry Wayne (Barbara) McLead of Okla.; daughter, Kathryn (Jerry) Augenstein of Columbus; grandchildren, Terry (Kim), Eddie (Tammy), Reynold (Vickie) and Brenda (Joe); 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Seymour of Columbus, Ramona (Hank) Robles of Calif. and Frances Carson of Columbus; brothers, Lincoln Seymour, Lloyd (Mary) Seymour and Ora Seymour, all of Columbus. SHEA Larry J. Shea, 68, passed away at St. Ann's Hospital, March 6, 2001. He was retired from Conrail and is a veteran of the USAF. He leaves his wife, Phyllis; sister, Mary Theresa; many friends and dog, Irish, to mourn his loss. He was a member of St. Patrick's Parish, the Shamrock Club, VFW and a 4th Degree Brother in the Ancient Order of Hiberians. Interment in Indiana, arranged by EGAN-RYAN. Memorial Mass in Columbus to follow.

SMITH Evelyn Smith, age 66, of West Plains, Mo., died Tuesday, March 6, 2001 in Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains, Mo. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Richard A. Smith, West Plains, Mo.; 2 children, Brenda Hammon and husband, Phillip, West Plains, Mo. and Richard Smith, Jr. and wife, Debra, Orient, Oh.; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas Kendrick, Springfield, Oh.; sisters, Lorraine Boyer and Carolyn Smith, both of Springfield, Oh., Ruth Matthew, Jacksonville, Fla. and Joyce Ramey, McArthur, Oh. Funeral service for Evelyn Smith will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 9 at ROBERTSON-DRAGO FUNERAL HOME, West Plains, Mo. Interment Oak Lawn Cemetery.

TIPPETT Lula Tippett, of Reynoldsburg, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2001. Lifetime member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her son, John Raymond (Barbara) Tippett; daughter, Helen Davis; 4 grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the COTNER FUNERAL HOME, 7369 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg. If desired, contributions can be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice, 1144 Dublin Rd., Columbus.

TURNER Evelyn Turner, age 92, of Hilliard, Thursday, March 8, 2001 at the residence. Arrangements being completed by the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard.
