WOOTEN Joyce Carol Wooten, age 53, of Columbus, died Sunday, March 11, 2001 at home. Survived by children, Jessie Wooten, Thomas Wooten, Jenny Hurley, Sarah Wooten and Matthew Wooten; 8 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Millie Vaughn, Robert Rutherford, Joann McMahon, Gerry Rutherford, Herb Rutherford, Michael Rutherford and Lilly; many nieces and nephews. Arrangements by RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME, 2383 North High Street, Columbus.

ZELLAK Joseph Zellak, age 92, a resident of North Palm Beach, Florida and Upper Arlington, Ohio, died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at Hospice at West Palm Beach, Florida. He retired as executive officer and vice-president of the Limbach Company and previously was president of Sauer Company, both of Columbus. Preceded in death by his wife Marguerite Zellak, daughter Jacqueline Daniels, parents Joseph and Susan Zellak and brothers Frank and Louis Zellak. He is survived by his grandson, Mark (Pamela) Daniels; great-granddaughters, Melissa Klass and Rebeccah Daniels, all of Central Ohio; sister in law, Alberta Harkins, Fort Myers, FL.; brothers in law, John Tallent, Columbus and Robert Tallent, California; many nieces and nephews. Joseph was a mechanical contractor in the construction of many commercial and hospital buildings in Columbus and was a former officer of the Mechanical Contractors Association. He was a member of First Community Church, Scioto Country Club and JDM Country Club, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where he was an avid golfer until a few years before his death. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 15 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road. Private entombment Union Cemetery Mausoleum. BECKSTEDT Ada (nee Kelly) Beckstedt, 89 of Seminole, Fla. passed away March 8, 2001 at the Freedom Square Nursing Center in Seminole, Fla. She was born Sept. 6, 1911 in Columbus, Oh. and moved to Seminole in 1981 from Milwaukee, Wis. She was a former secretary in a law office and was a Past President of the Shorewood, Wisconsin Women's Club and an officer in the National Association of Women's Clubs. She was Methodist. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Carl A. Beckstedt of Seminole, Fla. and was the loving mother of Carl A. Beckstedt Jr, Wilmington, N.C., the late Jeannine Campbell Beckstedt and John E. Beckstedt and his wife, Linda of Wilmette, Ill. She was the loving grandmother of Carl A. Beckstedt, III and Christine Pauly of St. Croix, USVI and Diedre Beckstedt of Boston, Mass, John E. Beckstedt, Jr. of Chicago, Ill. and Robert C. Beckstedt of Union, Ky. Other survivors include a sister-in-law, Mildred Beckstedt Bollerer of Cincinnati, Oh.; and nieces, Barbara Bollerer Bailey of West Chester, Oh. and Eleanor Kelly Bowers of Lauralville, Oh.; and nephew, Dr. Edgar D. Kelly, DDS., Toledo, Oh. Following cremation arrangements interment will take place at the Bay Pines National Cemetery in Bay Pines, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes Medical Center - Department of Geriatric Medicine, 710 South Pauline Chicago, Ill. 60612. E. BROWN Mark Preston Brown, age 39, of Kettering, Ohio, March 12, 2001, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. Survived by father, Lewis Brown and Betty, son, Sean and two daughters, loving companion, Vicky Warren, brothers Jesse Brown of Columbus, George R. Brown of Michigan, Lewis P. (Gloria) of W. VA., William (Judy) Brooks of TX, sisters, Lena Alwaits, Susie Dunlap and Lou Innis all of W. Va., nieces and nephews. Friends may call at GRAUMLICH & SON FUNERAL HOME, 1351 South High St., Thursday 11 AM until time of service at 12 Noon, Pastor Richard Match officiating. Interment Glen Rest Cemetery, Reynoldsburg.

CAPPER Carrie A. Capper, age 32, of Grove City, formerly of Canton, passed away March 21, 2001 in Mt. Carmel Hospital in Columbus following a brief but courageous battle with leukemia. Carrie was born March 29, 1968 in Canton. She was a 1986 graduate of Perry High School. Carrie enlisted in the Air Force Reserves in 1989. She served for the past 11 years as a Staff Sergeant at the Youngstown Air Force Reserve Station attached to the 910th AW/LGT division. An employee of Data Memory Marketing, Inc., where she was a successful sales representative. She was proud to be a breast cancer surviror and was currently serving as a co-chairperson for the Grove City Relay for Life. Carrie was a dynamic person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her grandfather James Ferguson, grandmother Mabel Capper and aunt Carole Capper. Carrie is survived by her pride and joy, her daughter, Madison Capper; her parents, Richard and Ruth (Ferguson) Capper; sisters, Melissa Capper and Amy Capper; grandmother, Iris Ferguson; grandfather, Edgar Capper; dear friend, Keith Justus; and numerous other family members and friends. Funeral service will be conducted Saturday 1 p.m. in the REED FUNERAL HOME, Canton, where friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Grove City Relay for Life or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

CARLSON Nicholas Andrew Carlson, age 5 years 7 months, of Upper Arlington, was taken from us suddenly and traveled to a better place Tuesday, March 13, 2001 at The Ohio State University Medical Center. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his parents, Christopher S. and Ann (Moseley) Carlson; sister, Amanda Carlson; brother, Bradley Carlson, all of Upper Arlington; paternal grandparents, Leonard H. and Marguerite (Peggy) Carlson, Holden, Mass.; maternal grandparents, Philip H. and Victoria A. Moseley, of Dublin; uncles and aunts, Kevin Carlson, Gregory Carlson, Julie (Wesley) Marshall, all of Mass., Gregory (Anne) Moseley of TX.; cousins, Wesley and Samuel Marshall, Scott Moseley; numerous great-aunts and great-uncles. While he was given to us for only a short time, he provided much love and affection to his extended family including many wonderful caregivers. His physical limitations were overshadowed by his need to be held and hugged. We rejoice in his release from his earthly limitations. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Sunday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2001 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1581 Cambridge Blvd., where family will receive friends after 10 a.m. Monday. Dr. J. Frank Luchsinger officiating. The body will reach final rest at Oak Grove Cemetery, Georgesville. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions be made to Children's Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 16810, Columbus, OH 43272, in Nicholas' memory.

CARPENTER Thelma Louise Carpenter, 79, of Circleville, went to be with the Lord, Monday, March 12, 2001 in Brown Memorial. Born October 22, 1921 in Stoutsville, the daughter of the late Clyde Leroy and Minnie M. (Fosnaugh) Huffer. Mrs. Carpenter was a member of the First Baptist Church, retired from Dupont after 22 years, was active in the Christian Womens Club and the Dupont Retirees. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert L. Carpenter; daughter, Susan Reeser of Circleville; grandchildren, Robert (Deanna) Reeser of Circleville and Kristen (David) England of Nashville, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Tyler Reeser and Jenna Resser; sister-in-law, Betty (Don) Coyne of Lebanon; brother-in-law, Donald (Catherine) Carpenter of Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sisters Harriet Huffer and Dorothy Arledge and brothers Harold Huffer, Merle Huffer and Clyde Huffer Jr., 1 step-sister and 2 step-brothers. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the MADER-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, Circleville with Rev. David Cavanaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery. CHAMBERS Dr. Helen Louise Pierson (Graves) Chambers, 86, died at Riverside Methodist Hospital on Saturday, March 3, 2001. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1581 Cambridge Blvd., Marble Cliff, Oh. on Saturday March 17, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Dr. Frank Luchsinger officiating. Donations may be sent in her name to the Development Fund for Research at The Ohio State University Department of Anatomy and Medical Education, 3184 Graves Hall, 333 W. 10th Ave., Columbus, Oh. 43210 or a charity of the donor's choice.

CHANEY Betty J. Chaney, age 73, of Lancaster, Wednesday, March 14, 2001, Mt. Carmel Hospital. Retired from Northland Dodge. Survived by sons, Bruce (Linda) Chaney of Michigan, Kim (Jody) Chaney of Pataskala, Sam (Rhonda) Chaney of Arizona; daughter, Jackie (Tom) McCurdy of Hilliard; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Myrtie) Foster, Jack (Carol) Foster; former husband, Newell Chaney; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Thelma and Russell Foster, and brother Alton Foster. Friends may visit 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. CLINE James Michael "Mike" Cline, 58, of McArthur, died Thursday, March 8, 2001, at his residence. Born March 10, 1942 in McArthur, he was the son of the late Sheldon R. "Tate" and Marjorie A. Graves Cline. He leased oil and gas land, was a graduate of Rio Grande College and was a member of McArthur FOE 2279. He is survived by sons, Richard Michael Cline of Denver, Colo. and Tate J. Cline of Columbus; brothers, John L. Cline and D. Andrew Cline of McArthur and R. Barry Cline of Ga.; sister, Catherine Conway of McArthur. A private family service was conducted in McArthur. Arrangements by GARRETT FUNERAL HOME.

COFFMAN Carl Thurlo "Hap" Coffman, age 91, of Grove City, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2001 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a WW II U.S. Army Air Corp veteran. Preceded in death by his first wife Ruth and second wife Roberta. Survived by sons, Dan (Pat) and Dave Coffman; grandchildren, Christina (Mike) Woody and Kevin Coffman; sisters, Virginia Rosenow and Margaret Rinehart; many nieces and nephews. Funeral will be Saturday 11 a.m. at MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 2697 Columbus St., Grove City. Family will receive 1 hour prior to service. Graveside service and interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery, Bremen OH.

CREAGER Mildred L. Creager, age 90, Tuesday, Lutheran Village. Retired Executive Director, Crittenton Family Service. Charter member National Association of Social Workers and Alpha Sigma Alpha Society. Member Brookwood Presbyterian Church. Preceded in death by husband Ivan Dale Creager and 1 sister. Survived by daughter, Mildred (Dr. James) Quinn of Pa.; step-son, Paul I. (Ingrid) Creager of Gahanna; grandchildren, Robert (Kathy) Creager of Dayton, Michael (Michelle) Creager of Westerville, John Nalley Quinn, Sarah Elizabeth Quinn and Matthew Thomas Quinn, all of Pa.; great-grandchildren, Valerie, Amanda and Kristina Creager. DANIEL Guy R. Daniel, age 63, Monday, March 12, 2001 at Chillicothe VA Medical Center. Served in U.S. Navy. Survived by step-brother, Bert Emick, Jr. of Florida; half-sisters, Jacqueline Jones of Logan, Oh and Heidi L. Emick of Euclid, Oh. Funeral Friday, 1:00 p.m. at SOUTHWICK-GOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3100 N. High St., where family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Interment Grove City Cemetery.
