OSBORN Emma E. Osborn, 89, of Columbus, formerly of 632 Folkerth Ave., Sidney, Oh., died Tuesday, March 13, 2001 at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus. Born September 10, 1911 in Sidney, Oh., daughter of the late Clarence Harp and Maude (Schaffner) Harp. Bookkeeper for Kaufmans Store in Sidney for 40 years retiring in 1969. Formerly belonged to the Wilson Memorial Hospital Womens Auxiliary. Member of Pleiades Chapter #298 of the Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years in Sidney, Oh. Member Russell Road Christian Center in Sidney, Oh. On September 5, 1933 she married Charles Osborn who passed away in 1960. Also preceded in death by a sister. Survived by son, Jim of Columbus, with whom she resided; daughter, Mary Jane Fair of Celina, Oh.; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation Friday 4-8 p.m. at the CROMES FUNERAL HOME, Sidney, Oh. Member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where he served on the Usher Board. Member of the Masonic Lodge Lone Star #22. Preceded in death by parents John and Janie (Chambers) Randolph. Survived by wife of 53 years, Elizabeth J. Randolph; sons, Larry Randolph of Desoto, Tex. and Keith Randolph of Columbus, Oh.; daughter, Pamela (Pastor Benjamin) Morris of Middletown, Md.; grandchildren, Jimmicia, Christopher, Larry, Jacquilyn, Brian, Ryan, Stephen, Lillian and Lauren; brother, Corley (Pastor Idella) Randolph of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 4 great-grandchildren. RAY Horace W. "Bruz" Ray, age 68, of Columbus, passed away March 13, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was a captain in the U.S. Air Force before attending Penn State University and The Ohio State University where he graduated with a Ph.D. in Psychology and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He retired from Battelle Memorial Institute after 25 years of service as a research scientist. While at Battelle, he was the recipient of the Creative Talent Award for his Ph.D. Dissertation from the American Institute of Research. He was preceded in death by his parents William H. and Mollie Ray. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jackie Ray; sons, William J. Ray of Denver, CO and Daniel O'Donnell Ray of Dublin, OH; daughters, Melanie Mills Esq. of Columbus and Rosemary Irelan of San Diego, CA; brother, William Ray of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Natassia Ray, Mollie Ray, Kacy Ray, Ellen Ray, Jimmy Davis, Rachel Irelan, Banks Irelan, and Olivia Irelan; former wife and friend, Janice C. Ray of Dublin; and many friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2001 at 1 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. RUSSELL Elizabeth Jane Russell, 84, of London, died at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2001 in the Madison County Hospital. Born Athens, Oh., August 21, 1916, daughter of Cecil Roy and Allena (Brookins) Cline. Ohio University, AB 1937, MA 1943. High school teacher in Ohio schools of New Straitsville, Bellville, Ashville, West Jefferson and for 19 years at London. Retired in 1974. Also employed Main Branch, Columbus Public Library, 1944-1947. Sustaining member of Phi Beta Kappa and Starling Ohio Women's Club. Locally, member of Married Ladies Thimble Club, Delphian Literary Society, Madison County Retired Teachers' Association, Madison County Genealogical Society, Madison County Hospital Auxiliary. Survived by loving husband, Orville; daughter, Beth Owen and son-in-law, Seymour Fink of Columbus; son, Jeffrey and daughter-in-law, Susan of Ft. Thomas, Ky.; grandchildren, Sean Owen of Columbus and Amy Russell of Atlanta, Ga. Per Mrs. Russell's request, neither visitation nor funeral service will be observed. Private burial will take place at the family's convenience in Alexander Union Cemetery, Athens. If they wish, friends may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes. Association. SCHAUER Dale E. Schauer, age 52, of Powell, Monday, March 12, 2001 at Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware. Advertising and Marketing Manager for Mitutoyo America Corporation. He is preceded in death by his father Edward J. and father-in-law Arthur M. Gasser and is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Mary Lou; children, Jarrett, Adam, Austin and Jenna, all of Powell; mother, Mildred Schauer of Independence, Oh.; sister Denise (Joseph) Zalar, Broadview Hgts., Oh.; mother-in-law, Helen Gasser, Logan Oh.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leanne (Tom) Brannock, Hilliard, Oh., Bill (Marie) Gasser, Canal Fulton, Oh., Tom (Judy) Gasser, Lancaster, Oh., John (Myra) Gasser, Dublin, Oh., Amy Kallmerten, Columbus, Joy (Larry) Culp, Dublin, Honnie (Dan) Resler, Logan Oh., Marti Gasser, Colorado Springs, Co., Scott (Jane) Gasser, Muncie, Ind.; many nieces and nephews. SHARP John L. Sharp, age 80, of Columbus, March 14, 2001 at Columbus Community Hospital. Member of Southwood Church of Christ. Retired from Duratile Co. Preceded in death by parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Survived by wife of 53* years, Helen; daughters, Jacqueline (Bob) Geczi and Judith (Jed) Dawson, all of Lancaster, OH; grandchildren, Kristin and Kevin Geczi, Emily, Melinda, Kenneth and Adam Dawson; sister, Hester Hook; sister-in-law, Georgia DeBell of Columbus; brother-in-law, Paul M. SICONOLFI James Joseph Siconolfi, age 72, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He worked for Columbia Gas as a consultant for 37 years. Member of Germania Singing and Sports Society, Central Ohio Squeeze Box Club. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Preceded in death by parents Anthony and Theresa Siconolfi, sisters Carmella Carafelli and Mary Chakeres, brother Frank Siconolfi. Survived by wife, Betty Siconolfi; children, Debbie (Stan) Vermaaten, Kathy Ingram, Lora (Bob) Hayden; step-children, Sally Hellman of Indianapolis, Ind., Ralph Steven (Lisa) Ebright, Susan (Stephen) Coats, Gary (Gail) Ebright; sister, Jenny (Tony) Gallichio; brother, George Siconolfi; 10 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; numerous great - grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Member of 7th Avenue Community Baptist Church, where she served in the Sisterhood and the choir. Formerly employed by Alexander's Department Store in New York. Preceded in death by parents Warren and Cordelia Henderson DeShields and daughter Michelle Purnell. Survived by husband, John Henry Smith; daughter, Diana Zenobia Hurley Little of New York; adoptive daughter, Nola Jackson; brothers-in-law, William (Pat) Smith; Robert (Cissy) Smith, Terre Haute, Ind.; God children, Frank Pierce, Barbara Pierce, Anita Nelson, Valerie, Peter, Linney and Leslie Nelson; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; dear friend, Vivian Nelson of New York; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, the 7th Ave. Baptist Church family, and friends. TIBE Joseph A. "Mac" Tibe, born May 18, 1919, passed away March 12, 2001 at Doctors Hospital West. Mac attended Aquinas High School, where he was active in sports. Worked for Curtis Wright during WW II. He retired as a mechanic for Modern Music Company after many years of service. Preceded in death by parents Robert and Rose Circone Malvuitch and twin brother James Tibe. Survived by son, Timothy Tibe of Calif.; brother, Albert Tibe of Fla.; aunt, Garnette Charie; uncle, Ralph Capuano; niece, Barbara (Jim) Gloeckner; nephews, John and Betsy Tibe, James R. and Carman Tibe; special friend, Betty J. Lahr; and many other family members and friends. Funeral service 12noon Saturday, March 17, 2001 at the JOHN QUINT & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Ave., where family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 12noon. WESSEL Harry Wessel, 88, of Galloway, Oh., a former West Portsmouth resident, died at his home Wednesday, March 14, 2001. Harry was born May 12, 1912 in Cincinnati, Oh. He is a retired School Bus Driver, Farmer, Mailman and a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Harry is survived by his wife, Sara Jane Liston Wessel, whom he married February 28, 1943 in Russell, Ky. Also surviving are 1 son and his wife, Richard Lee and Mary Wessel of Clermont, Fla.; 1 daughter and her husband, Linda Sue and Danny Scott of Galloway, Oh.; 8 grandchildren, Mitch, Becky, Julie, Shelley and Christy Scott, Lisa, Stacy and Jared Wessel; 16 great-grandchildren. Harry was preceded in death by his first wife Helen Hoop Wessel and a daughter Debra Ann Wessel. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2001 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Fr. David Young officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the ROGER W. DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, West Portsmouth from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday March 15 with recitation of the Rosary following at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
