Survived by daughter, Monica White; father, Ernest Pitts; grandfather, Archie Armstrong; grandchildren, Eddie Shipley, Jr., Claron White, Erica Gale; sisters, Patricia Anderson, Veronica (Buck) Spencer, Carla Stokes; brother, Julius Collins; special friends, Dennis Wright, Mrs. Clara Rowe; a host of family and friends. Funeral service Friday 1 p.m., Chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long St. Elder William Reynolds officiating. Friends may call Friday after 9 a.m. at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends 12noon until time of service.

YOST Howard T. Yost, age 89, of Worthington and Naples, FL on Tuesday, March 13, 2001 at Naples Community Hospital. Survived by wife of 61 years, Julia; daughter, Judy Ann Achey of Linden, MI; sons, H. Thomas (Ginger) Yost of Canal Winchester and Gary (Amy) Yost of Westerville; grandchildren, Jessica and Jennifer Yost; step-grandson, Dr. Kris M. (Margaret) Webb of Charlottesville, VA; brothers, Charles Eugene (Geneva) Yost of Newark and Robert Lawrence (Marilyn) Yost of Worthington; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son Gregory L. Yost. Mr. Yost was a founder and former owner of Mason Supply Co.; a 32nd degree Mason and member of York Lodge #563 and Aladdin Shrine Temple; member of Worthington United Methodist Church and Refrigeration Service Engineer Society (R.S.E.S.). The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High Street, (* mile South of I-270), where funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2001. Rev. W. Edge Dixon presiding. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, American Heart Association or to the Church in memory of Mr. Howard T. Yost.

ADAMS Doris Oleatha Adams, age 80, of Columbus, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 15, 2001 at O.S.U. East Hospital. Member of Jersey Baptist Church. Survived by brother, Robert E. Smith and wife, Barbara; sisters, Betty Jean Linson, Mary Carroll Mann and Edith Jennine Conrad; godson, Peter Conrad; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Private Family service. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to Jersey Baptist Church Building Fund, 13260 Morse Rd. in Doris' memory. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL.

BRUMBAUGH Mary Ann Brumbaugh, 80, of Columbus, formerly of Buffalo, W.Va., died Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at Dodrill's Private Home Care. She was a member of the Maple Grove United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Meredith E. Brumbaugh, parents Frank and Binnie Raynes, siblings Zorada, Rudolph, Frank and Clyda. She is survived by sisters, Jessie Mallett and Helen Burdette; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2001 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where friends will be received from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Lloyd Markley officiating. Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Fountain Square Cemetery, Fostoria, Oh. Memorial contributions may be made to Dodrill's Private Home Care, 229 Dodrill Rd., Vinton, Oh. 45686. The family of Mary would like to thank Pricilla Dodrill and the Staff at Dodrill's for their love and care they provided for past 8 years.

BUEL Phyllis Marie Buel, age 77, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday at her residence. A native of Appleton, Oh., she was a graduate of Johnstown High School and the Mt. Vernon School of Business, and was for many years a purchasing agent for Riverside Hospital. She was a member of the Crestview Presbyterian Church and was very active in the American Bowling Congress. She is survived by her husband, M.P. (Jim) Buel; son, Tim of Columbus; daughter, Sharon (Tom) Sutton of Coshocton; 6 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Lela Jean Liggett of Utica; sister-in-law, Janice VanFossen of Appleton, Oh. She was preceded in death by brothers Bobby and William VanFossen and sister Marjorie Montgomery. Friends will be received on Saturday at the RODMAN FUNERAL HOME, 5464 N. High St., Columbus, from 2-5 p.m., where funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Croton Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

CARLSON Nicholas Andrew Carlson, age 5 years 7 months, of Upper Arlington, was taken from us suddenly and traveled to a better place Tuesday, March 13, 2001 at The Ohio State University Medical Center. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his parents, Christopher S. and Ann (Moseley) Carlson; sister, Amanda Carlson; brother, Bradley Carlson, all of Upper Arlington; paternal grandparents, Leonard H. and Marguerite (Peggy) Carlson, Holden, Mass.; maternal grandparents, Philip H. and Victoria A. Moseley, of Dublin; uncles and aunts, Kevin Carlson, Gregory Carlson, Julie (Wesley) Marshall, all of Mass., Gregory (Anne) Moseley of TX.; cousins, Wesley and Samuel Marshall, Scott Moseley; numerous great-aunts and great-uncles. While he was given to us for only a short time, he provided much love and affection to his extended family including many wonderful caregivers. His physical limitations were overshadowed by his need to be held and hugged. We rejoice in his release from his earthly limitations. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Sunday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2001 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1581 Cambridge Blvd., where family will receive friends after 10 a.m. Monday. Dr. J. Frank Luchsinger officiating. The body will reach final rest at Oak Grove Cemetery, Georgesville. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions be made to Children's Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 16810, Columbus, OH 43272, in Nicholas' memory.

Carter Theon Carter, age 78, Friday, March 9, 2001 at the Eastland Care Center. Preceded in death by her parents Labe and Annie Joe Carter. Survived by her 3 loving children, Restoria (Elzra) Harris, Thurman (Essie) Webster and Youncy (Marjorie) Carter; 3 devoted sisters, Annie (Prince) Mallory, Evelyn Griffin and Edwina Booth; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. Funeral 10 a.m. Saturday at the New Zion Baptist Church, 1107 E. Mound St. Rev. Robert D. McCreary, Officiant. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service. CHAMBERS Dr. Helen Louise Pierson (Graves) Chambers, 86, died at Riverside Methodist Hospital on Saturday, March 3, 2001. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1581 Cambridge Blvd., Marble Cliff, Oh. on Saturday March 17, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. CHANEY Betty J. Chaney, age 73, of Lancaster, Wednesday, March 14, 2001, Mt. Carmel Hospital. Retired from Northland Dodge. Survived by sons, Bruce (Linda) Chaney of Michigan, Kim (Jody) Chaney of Pataskala, Sam (Rhonda) Chaney of Arizona; daughter, Jackie (Tom) McCurdy of Hilliard; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Myrtie) Foster, Jack (Carol) Foster; former husband, Newell Chaney; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Thelma and Russell Foster, and brother Alton Foster. Friends may visit 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. COFFMAN Carl Thurlo "Hap" Coffman, age 91, of Grove City, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2001 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a WW II U.S. Army Air Corp veteran. Preceded in death by his first wife Ruth and second wife Roberta. Survived by sons, Dan (Pat) and Dave Coffman; grandchildren, Christina (Mike) Woody and Kevin Coffman; sisters, Virginia Rosenow and Margaret Rinehart; many nieces and nephews. Funeral will be Saturday 11 a.m. at MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 2697 Columbus St., Grove City. Family will receive 1 hour prior to service. Graveside service and interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery, Bremen OH.

CROSBY Charles Gene Crosby, age 61, died March 14, 2001 at his residence. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service. Member of Desert Island Club. Veteran U.S. Marines. Survived by wife of 40 years, Patricia; children, Erin Crosby, Charles Gene Crosby, Jr., Jean Ann (Larry) Hastings, Michele Leigh Crosby; granddaughters, Laura and Emily; brothers and sisters, Sandra Charles, Carolyn Truesdale, Charles "Chuck" Crosby, Jenny Falk, Gary Reuter, Dickie Phillips, Joe Reuter, Tammy Alioth, Terry Zogg and Debbie Reuter. Funeral service Monday at 11:30 a.m. at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St., where friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Interment Groveport Cemetery. DAVIS Helen E. Davis, age 94, Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at Arbors of Hilliard. Lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Preceded in death by parents William and Alma Fisher, husbands Walter Kientz and B.F. Davis. Survived by sister, Vera Bettinger; nephew, Dennis (Cherie Mauro) Bettinger; and other family and friends. She is survived by son, George (Irene) Eckert; daughter, Helen Eckert; grandchildren, Joyce Cafaro, Karen Spyker and Marie Blackburn; 5 great-grandchildren; close friend, Jeannett Harpley.
