DILL Marvene Dill, 87, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, Grant Medical Center. Arrangements being completed at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 West Broad Street.

Gardner Richard A. Gardner, age 72, of Columbus, devoted husband, father and grandfather went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 18, 2001. Member of The Living Word Church. Previously captain of the church dart-ball team and a member of the choir. Retired from Columbus Coated Fabrics, Div. of Borden. U.S. Navy veteran. Enjoyed watching the Buckeyes. Preceded in death by parents George and Florence Gardner and brother Pearl. Survived by wife of 48 years, Mildred Gardner; daughters, Mary (Rev. Edward) Groff of Portsmouth, Oh., Debbie (Robert) Williams of Grove City, Tina (Tony) Staten of Columbus and Cheryl Dye of Gahanna; 14 grandchildren, David, Nicole, Rachel and Jonathan Groff, Michelle, Mindy, Mallory and Tyler Williams, Crystal, Kristan, Kyra, Angel and Toni Staten, Blake Dye and his father, Loren Dye of New Jersey; brother, Paul G. Gardner; sisters, Irene Pennington and Maxine Howland; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at GRAUMLICH & SON FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. HALL Jeanette Arlene Hall, age 59, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 15, 2001, St. Ann's Hospital. Employed by the Goodwill Sage Workshop on Edgehill Road. Predeceased by parents Raymon and Octava Wilson Hall, brother Ruben Hall. Survived by brother, Seabon Hall; sisters Octavia Hall of Pittsburgh, Pa, twin sister Jean Alice Terry; nieces; nephews; great nieces; great nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends; aunt Rosetta Howard. Homegoing Celebration 12 Noon, Tuesday, March 20, 2001, JW ROSS FUNERAL HOME, 1173 E. Hudson St. Rev. Robert Keyes officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service.

HARDY Mildred L. Hardy, 90, died Saturday, March 17, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She retired from the Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Jack) Primm-Conley; grandchildren, Shawn Michael (Sheri) Primm and Sarah Page (Dustin) White; great grandchildren, Evan and Maren Primm, Gwendolyn White. Funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment Kingwood Memorial Park.

HATTON Lula Jane Hatton, age 62, Saturday, March 17, 2001 at home. Preceded in death by husband Aaron and son James. Survived by daughters, Jo Ann Saunders, Sandra Saunders, Amanda Graves; sons, Jerry and John; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at COOK & SON - PALLAY FUNERAL HOME, 1631 Parsons Ave. where service will follow at 8 p.m.

HLASTAN Joseph Hlastan, age 86, a resident of The Worthington Christian Village, Worthington, Oh., passed away Thursday, March 15, 2001 following a brief illness. He was born in Madison, Pa. to Michael and Marie Hlastan on January 31, 1915. He lived in Sandusky, Oh. for many years before moving to Findlay, Oh. and then to Wildwood, Fla. He had been employed at Philco in Sandusky and RCA in Findlay. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed gardening. He is survived by 2 sons, Thomas (Sandy) Hlastan and Ronald (Janet) Hlastan, all of Columbus, Oh.; 3 daughters, Claire (Jay) Schaumleffel of Hayes, Va., Cindi (Damon) Hicks of Beaverton, Oreg. and Susan (Wayne) Bilbrey of Sandusky, Oh.; 2 brothers, Dennis and Michael, both of Md.; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia, parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at the Worthington Christian Village with Pastor Glenn Zorb of All Saints Lutheran Church, High St., Columbus, Oh., officiating. Entombment will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Leesburg, Fla. The WALTER-SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, Oh. is in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be made in Joseph's memory to Hospice at Riverside, 3595 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, Oh. 43214 or to the Kidney Foundation of Ohio, National, 1373 Grandview Ave., Columbus, Oh. 43212.

HOLBY Ben Vernon Holby, 80, Miller, Mo., formerly of Columbus, Oh., died at 12:45 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2001 in Mt. Vernon Place Care Center, Mt. Vernon, Mo. Mr. Holby was born April 5, 1920 in Columbus, Oh. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He moved from Columbus to Miller 2 years ago to be close to his daughter due to failing health. He was a mechanic for Rockwell International. He was a member of the Eastview United Methodist Church, Summit Station Lions Club and Rockwell Retirees Club. He married Elizabeth Mabel Heskitt on January 10, 1947 in Columbus. She died June 16, 1998. Survivors include one daughter, Tina Edmonds and husband, Gary Miller; two sisters and their husbands, Flordia and Paul McManes, Whitehall, Oh. and Geraldine and Bob Sheets, Las Vegas, Nevada; 2 granddaughters; 1 great-grandson and 1 great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter Lana Rae Holby, and 3 brothers Bobby, Billy and Dick Holby. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at KAUBER-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, Pataskala, Oh. with Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus. Missouri arrangements under the direction of Morris Leiman Mosher. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at the KAUBER-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, Oh. JAMES Edward D. James, age 94, of Columbus and formerly of Parma Heights, died Saturday, March 17, 2001 at The Forum at Knightsbridge in Columbus. Ed was a 42-year employee at Republic Steel and a former Pennsylvania State Policeman. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Walsh James. He is survived by his children, Edward F. (Rose) James of Columbus and Karen (Mitchell) Kassouf of Landsdale, Pa.; grandchildren, Kathleen (Mark) Neiheisel of Kettering, Oh.; Marianne (Michael) Minichello and Michael (Megan) James both of Dublin, Oh., Daniel James of Atlanta, Ga., Timothy James of Columbus, Jennifer Kassouf, Meghan Kassouf and Kristin Kassouf all of Landsdale, Pa.; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ed was a member of St. John Bosco Parish, Parma Heights, Oh. where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Holy Name Society and the Rosary Altar Guild. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at St. Peter's Church, 6899 Smokey Row Rd., Columbus, Oh. The Rev. Robert Penhallurick, Celebrant. Burial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Cemetery, Cleveland, Oh. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington, Oh. (614)885-4006. If they choose, friends may make memorial contributions to Hospice at Riverside/Grant, 3535 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, Oh. 43214-3998 in Ed's memory.

JORDAN Goldie May Jordan, age 92, of Whitehall, Saturday March 17, 2001, at her residence. Widow of John F. Jordan Sr. - 1996. Survived by daughters, Marlene (Charles) Daniels, Zanesville; Sandy Mogan, Fl.; sons, John (Joyce) Obetz, Dennis, David (Joy), and Bill, all of Whitehall; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by sons Harley and Melvin - 1994, and daughter Miriam Wade - 1984. KUHARIC Agnes Kuharic, age 81, of Upper Arlington, cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away March 17, 2001 at Kobacker House-Hospice at Riverside and Grant. Preceded in death by beloved husband Joseph, daughter Joanne and parents. Survived by daughters, Georgia Aderholt, Judith Brown and Joette Kuharic of Columbus and sister, Catherine Lewandowski of Cleveland; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; exceptional cousins Joe and Phyllis Drakulich. MARX Mary M. Marx, dearly beloved by everyone who knew her, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2001. Born April 9, 1920 in Logan, Ohio. Member of Gender Road Christian Church, Dorcus Circle Group, and School Days Lunch Bunch of Logan. Preceded in death by husband Leroy Marx and brother Robert Wolfe. Survived by daughters, Connie (Al) Garcia and Kay Benedict, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Nicolas, William (Cindy), Elizabeth, and Alexander (Marie Elisabeth); brother, James (Helen) Wolfe; many nieces and nephews. MILLS Dennis G. Mills, of Lewis Center, Oh., age 63, died Friday, March 16, 2001 at St. Anne's Hospital. A retired teacher from Tolles Technical Center and was currently employed by Top Driver. A Member of New England Lodge #4 F&AM of Worthington. He will be greatly missed by all. Survived by wife, Charlotte Mills; children, Victoria L. Pomeroy, of Dublin, Michele M. and Andrew Regrut of Dublin, Michael D. and Dawn of Lewis Center; granddaughters, Alexandria Pomeroy, Paige Regrut, Jillian Pomeroy, Andrea Regrut, Ella Mills; sisters, Alta Burnett, Betty Hutchinson, Margaret DeLauder; brother-in-law, Gene DeLauder.
