MONK Eleanor "Cookie" Monk, age 57, of Columbus, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 18, 2001. Preceded in death by parents George and Mary Price; brother Larry Price; former husband Joe Monk and brother-in-law Mike Kredel. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Traci Jo and Kurtis Stanton of Baltimore, Oh.; granddaughters, Amanda, Hannah and Channing Stanton; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and June Price of Columbus and their children, Allen, Dennis and Charlie; sister, Shirley Kredel of Columbus and her children, Kenny, Michelle and Mickey; special friends, Rick, Rolley and Brenda; and other close friends from Courage Inc., where she was an active member. Family will receive friends Thursday 10 a.m. until time of service at 12noon at GRAUMLICH & SON FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., Pastor Mike Nichols officiating. Interment Basil Cemetery, Baltimore, Ohio.

McELROY Mrs. Gwendolyn McElroy, age 64. Funeral service Thursday 10 a.m., Chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long St. Mrs. McElroy will lie in state after 8:30 a.m. in the mortuary, where the family will receive friends 9 a.m. until time of service. Interment Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.

McMANNIS Eugene H. McMannis, 87, of Columbus, died Sunday, March 18, 2001. Survived by 3 children, Eugene F. McMannis of Reynoldsburg, Dorothy Parker of Columbus and Shirley Lamm of Winter Haven, Fla.; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Beatrice McKindrey of Tenn., Irene Kernya of Cadiz, Oh. and Ilene Dunlap also of Cadiz, Oh. Preceded in death by wife Irma McMannis, parents Orville and Martha McMannis, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Friends may call at KAUBER MILLER FUNERAL HOME, Pataskala on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m., where funeral service will be on Thursday, March 22, 2001 at 10 a.m. Interment Newark Memorial Gardens. OHRSTEDT Margaret Carolyn (Seman) Petry Ohrstedt, age 83, of Clintonville, Sunday, March 18, 2001 at The Ohio State University Hospital. Member of Clinton Heights Lutheran Church since the 1950's, Clintonville Womens Club, Triangle Chapter #592 OES, African Violet Society and the Horticulture Club. Graduate of The Ohio State University School of Nursing in 1941 and a member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association. She was an officer in the Army Nurses Corp in WW II and after the war she continued her professional nursing career for 30 plus years in the Central Ohio Community. Preceded in death by husbands Walter Petry and Luther E. Ohrstedt, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Survived by son, Charles Luther Ohrstedt and his fiancee, Suzanne Brown of Columbus; daughter, Frances Lee Ohrstedt at Heinzerling; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2001 at the Clinton Heights Lutheran Church, 15 Clinton Heights Ave., Columbus. Pastor Max Culver and William Zoltner officiating. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME, 2383 N. High St., Columbus. Burial at a later date in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret's memory to the American Heart Association, the National Kidney Foundation or Clinton Heights Lutheran Church.

POULIAS Constantine Poulias, age 90, passed away Monday, March 19, 2001 at St. Ann's Hospital. Served in the Greek Army during WW II. Member of Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Survived by wife, Maria of 52 years; sons, John (Linda) Poulias and Chris (Dena) Poulias; grandchildren, Dean, Mary, Costa and Nicko; sister, Pota Andrikakos of Sparta, Greece; many nieces, nephews and other family. Friends may call at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Wednesday 1 hour prior to the service at 10 a.m. Fr. Alex Papagikos officiating. Interment Mifflin Township Cemetery. Arrangements by O.R. SHANNON Mrs. Rita E. (Nolan) Shannon, 83, of Newtown Square, Pa., formerly of Columbus, Oh., died Thursday, March 15, 2001 at Bryn Mawr Hospital, Bryn Mawr, Pa. Born July 29, 1917 in Columbus, Oh., daughter of the late James M. and Bertha E. (Durkin) Nolan. Retired Secretary for Paxon Hollow Junior High School, Broomall, Pa. Survived by husband, John "Jack" Shannon; daughter, Miss Kathleen A. Shannon, both of Newtown Square, Pa. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Sunday March 18 and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2001 at DONOHUE FUNERAL HOME, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, Pa. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2001 at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, Pa. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Pa. SHERROW Marjorie L. Sherrow, age 86, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Windsor Court Care Center. Survived by loving son, Michael (Bernice ) Sherrow; granddaughter, Kristina Alexander; great grandchildren, Nathan, Josh, Emma. Preceded in death by husband George E. Sherrow; grandson Michael Sherrow II; great grandson Brandon. Funeral Services Wednesday 11 a.m. in the LONG FUNERAL HOME, 5528 Cleveland Ave. (one block South of SR 161). Family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Rev. Paul Keener presiding. Burial Glen Rest Memorial Estate. In lieu of flowers contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.

SILVERMAN Sally (Goldstein) Silverman, of Columbus, formerly of Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh, Pa. Preceded in death by husband Saul, son-in-law Sheldon Rossio, brothers Phillip "Chappy" Goldstein and Louis Goldstein. Survived by loving daughter, Sandy Rossio; loving sisters and brother, Helen Rosenbloom, Florence Liebling and Abe Goldstein. Adored by grandsons, Evan (Julie) Rossio, Dr. Scott (Amy) Rossio and Marc (Lori) Rossio; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Emily, Samuel, Adam, Hannah and Jack Rossio. She was beloved by many nieces, nephews and friends, a woman beloved by all. Funeral services today in Pittsburgh, Pa. Memorials preferred to the Wexner Heritage House or donors favorite charity. SPILLMAN Raymond Spillman, 88, of Columbus, Monday at his residence. Previously employed by and retired from W.I.B.C. Survived by wife, Sarah; sons, Carl (Chieko) McAuley, Raymond (Donna) Spillman Jr., Thomas E. Spillman; daughters, Mary Cann, Ella (Linn) Colister, Betty (Tom) Shade, Ruth (Richard) Parr; 27 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. SPRINGER Georgette "Bebe" Springer, age 77, of Frazeysburg, Oh., died Friday, March 16, 2001 at Newark Health Care Center. She is survived by husband, Samuel; daughter, Gail (Mike) Adams; son, Mark (Sue) Springer; grandchildren, Joshua and Shana Adams, Gabe and Sarah Springer; sister, Sunny Carney. A memorial service will be held Wednesday March 21, at 5 p.m. at Madison Christian Church, 3565 Bixby Rd. in Groveport, Oh. OHIO CREMATION SOCIETY/RODMAN FUNERAL SERVICE.

STEED Naomi E. Steed, 81, of Columbus, died Sunday, March 18, 2001 at home. She was born in Sistersville, W.Va., a daughter of the late William Alfred and Nettie Jenetta Martin Smith. She was a Methodist by faith and worked as a cook at Garner's Pharmacy in Columbus for over 36 years. She was also a member of the Columbus Women's Auxiliary. She is survived by her son, Richard Steed of Columbus; son-in-law, David Writesel of Columbus; grandchildren, Joella Donahue, Annette Black and her husband, Brian, and David Writesel Jr., all of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Sean Donahue, Samantha Black, Brody Black and Cory Moore, all of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband Dolphin Richard Steed, daughter Carolyn Writesel and 12 brothers and sisters. Service will be Thursday 11 a.m. at LEAVITT FUNERAL HOME, Belpre, with Rev. David Hubbard officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

STEWART Fannie Stewart, age 101, went home to be with Jesus March 16, 2001 at Mt. Carmel Hospital East. Preceded in death by parents Rufus Hitchcock and Samantha Simpson, sons James Clayborne and Roscoe Thomas Bowman Jr. and grandchildren Jannette and Donald Bowman. Survived by daughter-in-law, Donna Bowman; grandchildren, Mary F., Roscoe Tyrone, Roscoe "Troy" Thomas III and Elana Dawn Bowman, Sharon (Lawrence Jr.) Smith, Gloria Washington and Geraldine "Kidd" Spurlock; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren; special cousin, John Harshaw. ZAAS Isabella Madison Zaas, age 5, of Powell, Oh., died Sunday, March 18, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Carol I. Zaas and survived by her loving parents, Terry and Robin; sister, Ali; brother, Tanner, all of Powell; maternal grandparents, Gene and Charlene McAllister, Springfield, Oh.; paternal grandfather, Dr. Robert D. Zaas, University Heights, Oh.; uncle, Chris and Kelly McAllister and their children, Gretchen and Sara, all of Springfield, Oh.; aunt Wendee Zaas, University Heights, Oh.; great-grandmother, Suni Johnson, Williamsport, Ky.
