She loved reading, crossword puzzles and taking care of her family. Survived by husband of 29 years, Reynold A.; son, Reynold D. "CB"; brother, Dale Anderson; sisters, Dorothy Brown and Bernice (Bob) Tomer; sister-in-law, Ilona (Gary) Issacs; several nieces and nephews. SPECKMAN Mildred Harriett (Steece) Speckman, age 80, of Columbus, died Monday, March 19, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Retired from Johnson Shoes of Lancaster. Preceded in death by her husband Jack Roy Speckman. Mildred is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Merrilie and James Toth; grandson, James Roy (Regina) Toth; granddaughters, Tricia Ann Toth and Camille Catherine (Barry) Hensley; great-granddaughters, Karyn Nicole and Samantha Jacalin; great-grandsons, James Roy, Jr., Barry Wayne Jr. and Michael James; sister, Penny Hall; brother, Larry (Kay) Steece; sister-in-law, Hazel (Ed) Brill. STEWART Fannie Stewart, age 101, went home to be with Jesus March 16, 2001 at Mt. Carmel Hospital East. Preceded in death by parents Rufus Hitchcock and Samantha Simpson, sons James Clayborne and Roscoe Thomas Bowman Jr. and grandchildren Jannette and Donald Bowman. Survived by daughter-in-law, Donna Bowman; grandchildren, Mary F., Roscoe Tyrone, Roscoe "Trey" Thomas III and Elana Dawn Bowman, Sharon (Lawrence Jr.) Smith, Gloria Washington and Geraline "Kidd" Spurlock; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren; special cousin, John Harshaw. STOESSEL Dorothy Street Stoessel, born in London, England on December 30, 1901, died peacefully March 19, 2001 at Winchester Place Nursing in Canal Winchester. Preceded in death by great-grandson Eric Stoessel, who was serving in the U.S. Marine Corps at the time of his death. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Clifford J. and Priscilla Stoessel of Mt. Perry, Oh.; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Memorial Service to be held at a later date. Arrangements by GRAUMLICH & SON FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. VALENTINE Mildred C. Valentine, age 93, of Frankfort, died Monday evening at Chillicothe Nursing and Rehab Center, following a brief illness. Survived by her children, Virgie White of Akron, Donna Thomas of Frankfort, Russell Valentine of Front Royal, VA and Donald Valentine of Frankfort. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Roxabel Second Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Bryant and Elder Melvin Maughmer officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the FISHER-ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort.

WALLAR Paul A. Wallar, age 59, of Grove City, passed away Monday, March 19, 2001. Mr. Wallar was a member of U.F.C.W. Local 1059 and retired from the Kroger Co. after 42 years of service. Paul is survived by his wife, Carol; parents, Samuel and Charlotte Wallar; children, Angela Hutt, Chip Hutt, Gene Hutt, Jaye Hutt, Charlotte Wilson, Sheila Stalard, Paula Rhyan, Mike Wallar; 20 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Wallar. Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2001 at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, with Pastor Frank Waters, officiating. Interment at Grove City Cemetery. WILSON Betty A. Wilson, age 55, of Mechanicsburg, went home to be with George, Monday March 19, 2001 at her residence. Born July 3, 1945 in Groveport, Oh. Preceded in death by parents James and Alberta (Ray) Rhinesmith and husband George W. Wilson, 1998. Survived by sons, James (Judy) Wilson of Blanchester, George "Buddy" (Shelly) Wilson, Jr. of Galloway and Joe (Gail) Wilson of St. Paris; grandchildren, Matthew, Kelsey, Brady and Erin; brothers, Don Rhinesmith of Columbus and David Rhinesmith of Baltimore; sister, Lois Chisler of N.C. Funeral 11 a.m. Friday, FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 202 E. Main St., (St. Rt. 161W), Plain City, where the family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday. Burial Forest Grove Cemetery, Plain City. WRIGLEY Maybelle Alice Wrigley, age 90, of Clintonville, previously of Ashland, Oh., Monday morning at Kobacker House, Hospice at Riverside. A long time member of OSU Golf Course, Nine and Eighteen Holers, North Broadway United Methodist Church, Riverside Hospital Church Guild #49 and Clintonville Women's Club. Maybelle loved to play the piano, dance, play bridge, and bowl with "the girls". She spent many years as a poll worker on election day. She was a terrific lady with a first class sense of humor. Maybelle was preceded in death by her husband Lowell A. "Wrig" Wrigley in 1989. One of 9 children, she was born Maybelle Alice Spayde on August 11, 1910 to Camsie Anna Craven Spayde and George F. Spayde in Bellville, Oh. She attended Ashland College and graduated with a degree in education. After a teaching stint at Johnsville, she moved to Ashland and married Roy Gerald "Jerry" Emmons (deceased), a dairyman. In Ashland she raised 2 children and taught at Montgomery Elem! entary School. In 1955, Maybelle was reunited with a former beau and teaching associate at Johnsville, Lowell A. Wrigley, an OSU Dean of Men and Big 10 football umpire. They were married in 1956 and she moved to Clintonville. Maybelle is survived by her children, Ann D. Wrigley of Columbus, Barbara Wrigley Andrix of London, Oh., Debbie Wrigley Roberts of Perrysburg, Karen Emmons Dibert of Columbus and Ronald Zane Emmons of Los Angeles; her sons-in-law, James Dibert and Don Roberts; her grandchildren, Michael Dibert, Grant Gibbs, Kristin Edwards; great-granddaughter, Hannah Gibbs; sister, Betty Altomonte of Granville; brother, Max R. Spayde of Mansfield; longtime friend and companion, Dr. Hugh "Doc" Starr of Columbus; and family friends, Tom Davenport and Dale Wheeler. The memorial service will be held at North Broadway United Methodist Church Friday morning, March 23 at 11 a.m. Please join the family for visitation at 10 a.m. prior to the service. YOUNG Katie Jane Young, 19, of Queen Creek, died March 11, 2001. She was born January 16, 1982 in Columbus, Oh. Ms. Young was a food service associate for Trilogy Golf Course and was currently enrolled as a student at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. Katie enjoyed many outdoor activities, running, hiking, snow skiing and was pursuing a career in Bio-Medical Engineering. Survived by parents, Gary and Vivian Young; step-parents, Kathy Young and John Tryniski; sister, Lori Young; grandparents, Dorothy Jean Young, Richard and Betty Donahue; step-grandmother, Estelle Tryniski; many aunts, uncles and cousins; step-sister, Jessica Long; step-brother, Travis Long. Memorial Service 6 p.m. Saturday, March 24 with visitation 2 hours prior at Amlin United Methodist Church, 5441 Cosgray Rd., Amlin, Oh. 43002. BERGANDINE Frances Ivy Bergandine, 90, of Marysville, died Thursday, March 22, 2001 at Memorial Hospital of Union County in Marysville. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Suzi Bergandine, Marysville; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Service will be held Saturday, March 24, 2001 at 11:30 a.m. at the MANNASMITH-HALE FUNERAL HOME, Marysville. Rev. Richard Flynn will officiate and burial will take place at Oakdale Cemetery. BERGER Irene Berger, born February 20, 1907 in Newark, Oh., daughter of Charles and Daisy Hockley Martin, died March 21, 2001 at First Community Village. She was married in 1928 to Otto Edgar Berger, who died in 1972. A graduate of Columbus High School of Commerce, she worked for Farm Bureau Insurance and the Hot Mixed Bituminous Association. After some years of fulltime child-rearing, she retured to work as a secretary for the Ohio State Senate and Pepple Kitchens and retired as office manager of The Central Ohio Heart Association. Mrs. Berger was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the Friends of the Grandview Heights Library. Before moving to First Community Village in May, 2000, she had lived for 51 years on McClain Rd. in Grandview. She leaves a son, Martin Berger of Youngstown; daughter, Elaine Ball of Johnstown; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Saturday 2 p.m. at the DEYO-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 1578 W. First Ave., Grandview Heights. Pastor Kenneth Sauer officiating. Friends may call 1 hour prior to service. Private interment Union Cemetery. Friends may, if they wish, contribute to the American Heart Association or Friends of the Grandview Heights Library.
