SMITH-e-INCAS Memorial Service Planned Family and friends plan to memorialize the late Anne Smith-e-Incas with a public service in St. Philip Episcopal Church, 166 Woodland Ave. on Saturday, March 24 at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends and refreshments will be served in the St. Philip's Social Hall immediately following the memorial.

STONER William Howard Stoner, Jr., 56, of Lebanon, Oh., died Thursday, March 22, 2001 at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati. He was a life insurance underwriter for Great American Life Insurance Co., and formerly with Columbus Mutual Life Insurance Co. He is survived by wife, Mary Wildman Stoner; daughter, Shari A. Stoner; son, William H. Stoner III; grandchildren, Amanda Imhoff and Samantha Stoner; parents, William H. Sr. and Betty Stoner; siblings, Susan (Lance) Fairchild, Beth Roach, J. Robert Stoner, Richard Stoner, J. Randall (Trina) Stoner, Daniel (Laurie) Stoner; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 1-5 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2001 at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., where funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2001. Pastor Mark Ballmer officiating. Graveside service will take place 2:30 p.m. Monday at Most Pure Heart of Mary, Shelby, Oh. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Society.

TOLLEY Sonya L. Tolley, of Winchester, Va., died Thursday at Winchester Medical Center after at 2 year struggle with cancer. She was 60 years old. She was born June 2, 1940 in Newton, N.C. to Joseph and Mary Moose and grew up in Columbus, Oh. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology and received her Master's of Education Administration from NOVA Southeastern University. An innovative leader in the education field, Mrs. Tolley authored the state's first infant development program in 1971 and named it Parent Infant Education (PIE). This program has been replicated throughout the state of Virginia. From 1975-1984, she was the director of Northwestern Regional Educational Program (NREP). This program, which she created, directed a regional public school program to provide special education services to elementary school children in Winchester, Frederick County, and Clarke County. Mrs. Tolley was responsible for the start-up and implementation of the local Head Start Program. Mrs. Tolley was the Executive Director of the Downtown Development Board from 1986-1994. During this time she co-founded the Old Town Welcome Center, located in the renovated Kurtz Building. She also co-founded and helped run First Night Winchester. Mrs. Tolley belonged to several service organizations including the Winchester Frederick County Chamber of Commerce and Winchester Frederick County Rotary. She has in the past served on the board or was a member of Winchester House, Economic Development Commission, Lord Fairfax Association for the Education of Young Children, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Child Care Task Force, Community Services Council of Winchester and Frederick County and Healthy Families of the Northern Shenandoah Valley. Surviving her are her husband of 27 years, Dr. Larry L. Tolley; 4 children, H. Todd Flemming of Orlando, Fla., Janis Flemming Bosserman of Alexandria, Va., Katherine Tolley Rizzo of Arlington, Va. and Benjamin L.M. Tolley of Winchester, Va.; 3 grandchildren, Jaime, Sarah and Sam Bosserman. She is also survived by her mother; brother, Alan Moose; sister, Justine Whiting, all of Columbus, Oh. Mrs. Tolley was a member of the Braddock Street United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at the church on Sunday at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the Jones FUNERAL HOME, Winchester, Va. on Saturday evening from 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Evans Home for Children, 330 Leicester St., Winchester, Va.

TREIN Homer (Knobby) Ernest Trein, 93, of Columbus, Thursday. WW II Veteran of U.S. Navy. Recipient of Asiatic Pac, American Thea, Philippine Lib Awards. Retired from Timken Roller Bearing Co. after 35 years. Member of the Summit & 2nd Street Senior Citizens. Avid golfer, bowler and had many friends at the card shop. Preceded in death by wife of 50 years Jean and daughter Carol Ann Axtell. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Pete Susi; grandsons, Lynn and Craig Hardy, Pete Jr. and Chris Susi; 7 great-grandchildren. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., SHOEMAKER FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Cleveland Ave. at Lakeview Ave., where service will be held Saturday 10 a.m. Rev. Fred M. Ketner officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with VFW Post 4719 providing a military honor service.

YOUNG Lillian M. Young, age 79, of Plain City, died Friday, March 23, 2001 at her residence. Born October 5, 1921 in Gallipolis, Oh. Lillian had been a waitress all her life from age 21 to 62 and most recently at Lincoln Lodge in Columbus. Preceded in death by parents Russell and Fanny (Harmon) Mayes, husband Orville Young, Sr., 1975, son-in-law Elmer Morley, 1996 and 3 grandchildren. Survived by children, Orville "Dink" (Sue) Young, Jr. of Marysville, Thelma Holcomb of Plain City and Judith Morley of Plain City; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Chester Mayes of Mont. and Robert Mayes of Columbus. Funeral 10 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2001 at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 202 E. Main St., (St. Rte. 161W), Plain City, where the family will receive friends 2-6 p.m. Sunday. Pastor Roger Gorden officiating. Burial Jerome Township Cemetery.

ZITZKE Marie Elizabeth Zitzke, age 85, of Groveport and Lake Mary, Fla., Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at her daughter-in-law's residence. Retired Co-Owner, Norm's Market, Groveport. Member Groveport Zion Lutheran Church, Columbus Daemmenchor, Groveport Golf Club. Survived by daughter-in-law, Lois (Tim) Gibbs; granddaughter, Didi Berry; great-grandson, Dylan Berry, all of Lake Mary, Fla.; son-in-law, Tony Gibbs, Groveport; nieces and nephews in Pa. and Mass. Preceded in death by husband Norm, 1984, son Mike, 1965 and daughter Normalee, 1988. Graveside service Monday 11 a.m., Forest Lawn Cemetery Chapel, where friends may call 15 minutes prior to service. Pastor James H. Heil officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Groveport Zion Lutheran Church.

ACKERSON Herbert Dee Ackerson, long time Hilliard resident, died March 22 at Riverside Hospital. He was born January 5, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Rosemary Kraus. He is the beloved father of daughter, Carol Ackerson (Doug Trucano) of Juneau, Alaska; and sons, Dr. Laird (Jacqueline) of Hilliard, Scott (Catherine) of Los Angeles, California, and Keith of Hilliard. He was adored by his grandchildren, Natalie, Ken, Kayleigh and Alexandra Ackerson. He dearly loved his family and friends Herb was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during World War II in the Philippines. He graduated from Temple University. He was President and Chairman of the Board for White-Haines Optical Company. Herb was an artist, animal lover and avid sports fan (Go Bucks). He was involved in youth sports, coaching Optimist football and baseball as well as the HBA Lions Pony League for 13 years. He belonged to Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hilliard and was a founding member of the Ridgewood Optimist Club. He was also a long-time member of Brookside Country Club. A memorial service will be performed by Rev. Warren Reichert at Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3500 Main Street in Hilliard on Monday, March 26 at 6:30 p.m. The family will receive friends after the service and refreshments will be provided. A private interment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the Norwich Township Heart Fund. BENADUM Richard Benadum, 72, of Oldsmar, Fla., died Sunday March 18, 2001 at Town & Country Hospital. Born in Columbus, Oh., he moved to Oldsmar in 1987 from Powell, Oh. He retired from Ohio Bell Telephone Company after 39 years. He was a Veteran of the Navy during WW II. He was a member of Countryside Baptist Church, Clearwater, a former member of Humboldt Lodge F&AM and the Humboldt Glee Club, both in Columbus. He was a volunteer at Mease Hospital, Countryside, Safety Harbor and Countryside Baptist Church, Clearwater. Survived by wife of 37 years, Phyllis; son, Dale Jeffrey Benadum of Oldsmar, Fla.; daughter, Andrea Beth (Sal) Tranchida of Palm Harbor, Fla.; 2 granddaughters, Jynger Benadum of Warren, Oh. and Alexis Tranchida of Palm Harbor, Fla.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joann and George Zinn of Hilliard, OH; sister-in-law, Jean Rehkpof of North Tonawanda, N.Y.; nephew, Philip B. McDonald of Columbus, Oh.; aunts, cousins, and numerous friends. Preceeded in death by his parents David M. and Ada Rose Benadum. Arrangements by SYLVAN ABBEY FUNERAL HOME, Clearwater, Fla.

BERGQUIST Karlton (Karl) G. Bergquist. Sr. Born July 26, 1915, died Friday, March 23, 2001, surrounded by family and Pastor Paul Ulring. Survived by beloved wife of 58 years, Lorraine; son, Karlton (Skip) G. Bergquist, Jr. and Skip's fiancee Betsy Powers; daughter Karyl Witherspoon and son-in-law John Witherspoon; and beloved granddaugter, Victoria (Tori) Nymeyer, all of Upper Arlington; sister, Eleanor Lundius of Malmo, Sweden; brother Evert Bergquist of Chicago; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Karl and Martha Bergquist, sister Ellen Gross, and brother Verner Bergquist. Karl's career included: Bergquist Bros., Venetian Blind Company, Sales Manager Illinois Shade Company, Sales Manager IC Systems and Auditor for State of Ohio Welfare Department. Karl was an Active Member in the Chicago and Minneapolis Lion's Club where he was the President of the local chapter and International Zone Chairman, member of WACO neighborhood community organization, 1995 Honorary Captain of Upper Arlington football team, avid OSU sports fan and member of UALC. BEYNON Dennis L. "Red" Beynon, age 41, of Hilliard, Thursday, March 22, 2001 at Arbors at Hilliard. Veteran of the United States Navy. Formerly employed by Armando Concrete Construction, Inc. Member of the H.O.G. Club of Columbus. Preceded in death by father Kenneth Ellsworth "Gus" Beynon. Survived by loving wife of 19 years, Lisa; mother, Melba Mae; twin daughters, Lesli and Denise; son, Kenneth; sisters, Jackie Brooks and Renee Pierce. To celebrate Dennis' life his family will have a gathering of friends and family at the Hilliard United Methodist Church Christian Life Center Building, 3701 Main St., Hilliard, Oh., 43026, Saturday, April 7, 2001 from 12noon until 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Dennis Beynon Memorial Fund, O.S.U. She is survived by her husband, Curtis Moore; children, Donald (Kathy) Goodman, Ronald (Jean) Evans, Linda Sue (Gerad) Semigel, Patsy (Jim) Pinkerman, Rick (Alta) Evans, Donna (David) Cruz and Roy Dean (Candy) Evans; 28 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
