Survived by son, Wayne Earl (Tricia); and daughter, Margaret (Jack) Johnson; grandchildren, Brian Johnson, Cynthia (Haider) Zafar, and Angel Emerson; great-granddaughter, Natori King; sister, Virgie Whitehorn of Atlanta, Tx. Funeral service will be held Tuesday 6:30 p.m. at the Northwest Presbyterian Church, 6400 Post Rd. Family requests contributions to Bible Study Fellowship International. FROST Charles Meshech Frost, 96, died at home March 17, 2001. Born February 27, 1905 in Huntington, West Virginia to Ellis Porter Frost and Bertha Robinson Frost. Attended the University of Virginia, was a member of Delta Phi, served in the Army Ordinance during World War II. Resided for sixty years in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he worked for Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company (1931-1968) and became a Branch Manager and member of the Board of Directors, was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, was an avid bird watcher and member of the National Audubon Society, and served for over twenty-five years as a volunteer at the Reynolda Rose Garden. Preceded in death by his wife Mary Nowell Frost. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Molly and Roger Hoey of Columbus, Ohio; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Lorraine Frost of Lebanon, New Jersey; and grandchildren, Colby and Virginia Hoey, Kim Frost (Brian) Baldwin, Jack and Charles Frost. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Winston-Salem, NC. The family requests memorials to the Children's Home Society of North Carolina, Box 14608, Greensboro, NC 27415-4608 or a charity of choice. Local arrangements by SCHOEDINGER STATE STREET CHAPEL, 224-6105.

GILBERT Mildred E. Gilbert, 87, of 4510 South Union Road, Miamisburg, Oh., passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2001. Born in Perry Twp., Montgomery County, Oh. Lived most of her life in the area with her above address in Ellerton being her residence since 1948. She was an active member of Salem Ellerton Lutheran Church since 1949. She served on church council and was active in Circle, Lutheran Church Women and numerous committees at church. Mildred also served as an officer and member of Women's Church Federation of Miamisburg and Ohio Women's Auxiliary of Lutheran Social Services. She also volunteered for numerous organizations including the Once Around Shop and Christel Manor. She also belonged to AARP and was waiting for final approval for her acceptance as a member of the Daughters of American Revolution. She began her teaching career in 1932 at New Lebanon Dixie Schools. She also taught at Jefferson Twp. Schools and finished her career of 39 years of full-time teaching at C.F. Holiday Elementary West Carrollton Schools in 1975. After retirement she was an active substitute teacher for an additional 8 years at area schools. She was a lifelong member of Montgomery County Teachers Association, OEA, NEA, Ohio Retired Teachers Association and Montgomery County Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by her 2 sons, Ronald Gilbert of Harper Woods, Mich. and James Gilbert and daughter-in-law, Kristin of Columbus, Oh. She has 6 grandchildren, Elizabeth Gilbert of New Mexico, Lynne Chupa of Grosse Pionte, Mich., Lisa Gilbert of Vermont, Ashley, Aaron and Alexander Gilbert of Columbus, Oh. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 27 at 7 p.m. at the Salem Lutheran Church, Ellerton, 4573 S. Union Rd. Friends may visit with family members at the Church from 4-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the Memorial Service. Food will be served in the church basement during visitation. GILES Jean W. Giles, age 77, died Monday, March 19, 2001 in Salem, Oreg. She moved to Salem in 1994 from Columbus where she had lived since 1941. Retired Office Manager from Columbus Public Schools. She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence H. Giles. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Colette and Stuart Tennant; granddaughter, Shannon Tennant, all of Salem, Oreg.; grandson, Jeremy Tennant of Portland, Oreg. and grandson, Andrew Tennant of Salem, Oreg. Jean enjoyed writing and her grandchildren. While in Columbus, she attended Worthington Christian Church. Funeral Service 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2001 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington, Oh. 43085. Family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday. Burial at Union Cemetery, Columbus, Oh. Contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 680 State St., Salem, Oreg. 97301 in her memory.

GRAHAM Innes Leona "Nonie" Graham, age 73, of East Fultonham, OH, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at her residence. Born in Morgan County to the late Algert and Freda Embrey. Preceded in death by sons Neal Emerson and Milo James Graham. Survived by husband of 50 years, Fred Graham; son, Timothy N. (Cynthia) Graham of San Diego, CA and his son, Timothy J. Graham; 3 grandsons; sisters, Mana E. (Jim) Spring of Fultonham, OH and Glenna M. (Don) Allen of Austin, IN; special God-daughter, Kathy Combs; many special nieces and nephews. Charter member Northwest Presbyterian Church in Dublin, Ohio; Gideon Auxillary; and Ohio Bell Pioneers. Memorial service 2 p.m. this Saturday, March 24 at East Fultonham United Methodist Church. Pastor Randy Jones officiating. Interment service Wednesday, March 28 at 11 a.m. at Kingwood Memorial Park Chapel, 8230 Columbus Pike (U.S. Rt. 23) in Lewis Center, OH. GUTRIDGE Opal Gutridge, age 83, passed away Thursday March 22, 2001, Regency Manor. Longtime resident of Hamilton Arms Apartments. She was born in Gratiot, Oh. to the late Lessie and Belle Riffle Gutridge. Graduate Hopewell High School. She was a bookkeeper in Zanesville, Newark and The Museum of Art in Columbus. She was of Protestant faith and attended various churches in the area. Preceded in death by brothers Vernon and Clifford Gutridge. Survived by nieces, Charlotte Pettit and Claudette McMillian. HALLEN Robert E. "Bob" Hallen, age 52, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 24, 2001. A devoted Catholic all of his life. Preceded in death by parents Leonard J. and Gertrude Hallen, sister Frances Howard, sister-in-law Georgia Hallen. Survived by life partner, Jerry L. Dozier; brother, John Hallen; sisters Sandy (John) Eichorn, Betty Tracy, and Rose (Randy) Faught; several nieces and nephews, and family. Friends may call at O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 255 E. HALLY Adeline Martha Hally, 84, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2001. She was born in Ashland, Oh. March 26, 1916. She was preceded in death by her husband John J. Hally, Sr. in 1962. Survived by sisters, Miriam Crosby, Nellie Arnet and Becky Carpenter of Columbus, Oh.; sons, John "Joe" Hally of Birmingham, Ala. and Michael T. Hally of Marengo, Oh.; granddaughters, Amy Hally of Portland, Oreg. and Betsy Hally of Boston, Mass. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2001 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., where the funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2001. HARGRAVES Mary Jane Hargraves, age 67, went to be with her loving husband Thursday, March 22, 2001. Preceded in death by husband Edward Lee and son Edward Leo. Survived by daughters, Linda (Don), Vickie (Darrell) Karr, Verna (Rusty) Scarberry and Mary Alice; sons, Windel and John; brother, John (Jackie) Kendall; dear aunt, Lula Mastroianni; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson. HAWK Jacob "Jake" H. Hawk, age 76, went to be with the Lord March 22, 2001 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Jake was born in Nelsonville, Oh. on June 16, 1924. Preceded in death by his mother Elsie Millard, father and step-mother Amos and Ida Hawk, brother Paul and son Michael. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Rozella; children, Jerry (Linda) McKinney, Columbia, S.C., Mary Ann (Harley) King, Evans, W.Va., Richard (Peggy) McKinney, Reynoldsburg, Oh., Denise (Mark) Cantrell, Pickerington, Oh.; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pauline (Harry) Mitchell, Ruth Millard; special cousins, Jim (Sue) Powers and Karen (Don) Reese, all of Lancaster, Oh.; PaPa's earth angel, Danielle Hill; and his four-legged best friend, Emily. HENSON John H. Henson, age 82, March 23, 2001 at the residence. Retired from Teeters Packing Co. Member of Chicago Ave. Church of Christ, Southway Post American Legion. Veteran U.S. Army World War II, awarded the Bronze Star. Preceded in death by sister Cora Chambers and brother Thomas Henson. Survived by wife, Isabelle; sons, David and Bill (Terry) Henson; grandchildren, Tracey, Joshua, Jennifer and John; nieces and nephews. HESS James "Herb" Hess, age 65, of Plain City, died suddenly Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at Madison County Hospital. Born August 27, 1935 in Haywood, W.Va. Beloved husband, devoted father and grandfather. U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Avid golfer, respected businessman and devout Christian. Member Upper Arlington Lutheran Church at Mill Run. Preceded in death by parents James H. and Hattie (Martin) Hess, 4 sisters Miriam Martin, Jetty Lyons, Ann Metz and Teno Romano. Survived by wife, Nancy Lou (Naylor) Hess, whom he married in 1957; children, Margaret "Margie" (David) Wojnowski of Columbus, Jennifer (Richard) Krueger of Powell, Andrew (Marissa) Hess of Stewart, Fla. and Nancy Kay (David) Proffitt of Plain City; 9 grandchildren; special friends, Mark and Beth Traetow, Mark Jr. and Jennifer. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Gertrude Locke Johnston. She formerly worked at Molly Maids cleaning service in Columbus. She is survived by her husband, Santford L. Jolley of Columbus, formerly of Nelsonville; 6 sons, David (Paula) Farley of Columbus, Roger (Patty) Farley of McConnelsville, Robert (Betty) Farley of Ashville, Oh., Tommy (Toni) Quest of Columbus, J.R. (Delta) Jolley of Columbus, and Jackie (Erin) Jolley of Columbus; 2 daughters, Sandy (David) Yablonski of Dublin and Cheryl (Russell) Sharp of Pickerington; special friend, Rufus Chavis; 23 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Walter (Betty) Johnston of Nelsonville, Carroll (Betty) Johnston of Columbus, Rodney Johnston of McConnelsville, and Rocky Johnston of Grove City; 1 sister, Mary Elliott of Chauncey.
