COURTER Jeanette M. Courter, 82, of Columbus, was born September 30, 1918 in Derby, OH and died Monday, March 26, 2001 at her home in Columbus. Mrs. Courter was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star OES Chapter #74 in Mt. Sterling and was also a 50 year member of the Briggsdale Union United Methodist Church. Retired from Rockwell International. She was a faithful volunteer at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Leslie in 1999, father Bennett Musselman, mother Esther (Redman) Musselman, brothers William, Richard, Jack, Jim and Charles Musselman and sisters Josephine Harlan and Jane Karn. Jeanette is survived by her daughters, Dianne (Robert) Welsh of Jackson, MI and Pam (Weldon) Snyder of Orient; grandchildren, Laura (Tim) Florence, Stephen Welsh (fiancée, Betsy Dyk), Sarah Welsh Sean (Patty) Snyder and Bret (Pam) Snyder; great-grandchildren, Trista, Richie and Alex; brothers, Tom (Florence) Musselman, Jerry (Carol) Musselman, Ned (Betty) Musselman and David (Bertie) Musselman; sisters, Betty (Edwin) Bauhan and Ruth Hubbell; sisters-in-law, Doris Musselman and Pauline Musselman and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call 1-3 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the SCHOEDINGER NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, where the funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2001 with Rev. Stephen Beck officiating. Interment to follow at Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, OH. Contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice or to the Briggsdale Union United Methodist Church in Jeanette's memory.

DACHNER Edythe Dachner, of Columbus, longtime resident of Wexner Heritage House. Preceded in death by husband Aaron Dachner, parents Miriam and David Schwartz, sister Sara Schlonsky and brothers Harry and Jack Schwartz. Survived by daughters, Chana (Dovid) Dachner-Josef of Tel Aviv, Shelia (Mike) Dachner-Thrush of Columbus, David (Caryn) Dachner of Columbus; grandchildren, Joshua, Mitchell, Joel and Greg Dachner and Ian Thrush; loving niece, Joan (Ralph) Rosenbloom; and many other nieces and nephews; and beloved friend, Marion Soomsky. Mrs. Dachner was an OSU graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts and a member of Agudas Achim Synagogue and its sisterhood. Graveside service will be held Wednesday (today) at 1 p.m. at the New Agudas Achim Synagogue Cemetery with Rabbi Cary Kozberg officiating. Memorials preferred to the Wexner Heritage House. DICK Martha G. Dick, age 84, on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 at the Village at Westerville. Survived by daughter, Diane Kiger of Columbus; son, David Dick of Gainesville, Tex.; grandchildren, Cindy (Eric) Phipps, Nicole (Brian) Lacy, Geoff Dick; great-grandchild, Hunter Lacy; sister, Betty Eastwood. Mrs. Dick was a former staff member with Capital University Law Library and was a retired buyer from Old Union Company. A private family observance was pre-arranged with SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High Street. DICKSON Charles H. Dickson, age 80, of Columbus, passed away peacefully at home March 26, 2001. Retired from COTA. Veteran of WW II, recipient of Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Service Medal, EAME Service Medal with three bronze stars and Victory Medal. Son of the late Edwin and Grace Dickson, Lancaster, Oh. Survived by wife of 53 years, Helen M. (West) Dickson; children, Grace (Leo) Naegele, Cynthia K. Dickson, Jodi (Keith) Cooper, David (Cheryl) Dickson; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Naomi Schnider and Esther Brockman; brother, Don (Alvera) Dickson, San Francisco, Calif.; sister-in-law, Ruth (Grant) Dickson, Gallipolis, Oh. Funeral service Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 East Livingston Ave., where friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Friends who wish may contribute in his memory to the National Kidney Foundation.

DOUGHERTY Helen Elizabeth Ferguson Dougherty, age 89, of Upper Arlington, passed away peacefully Monday, March 26, 2001 at Arlington Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born Helen Elizabeth Ferguson in Wellston, Oh. to George and Jessie Ferguson. She was a life-long active member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, teaching Sunday School and singing in the Choir. She enjoyed crafting and gardening, above all she loved her family. She graduated from North High School and attended Capital University. She was a member of Mizpah Chapter #38 O.E.S. She taught at several sheltered workshops in both Ohio and South Dakota. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Theodore B. "Ted" Dougherty; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Sharon Dougherty of Upper Arlington; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Richard Callan of Springfield, Va.; grandchildren, Chad (Laurie) Dougherty of Columbus, Bryan (Susie) Dougherty of Hilliard, Christine (James) Wood of Charlotte, NC, and Jennifer (William) Lowe of Springfield, Va.; great-grandchildren, Leslie Najera, David Lowe and Taylor Lowe, all of Springfield, Va. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2001 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2001. EASTERDAY Kathryn C. Easterday, Age 95, late of Whetstone Gardens, Columbus, Oh., formerly long time resident of Shelby, Oh., died March 27. Born January 29, 1906 on the Cahill farm near Tiro, Oh., she was the daughter of the late Verrill and Marie (Galehr) Cahill. She graduated Tiro High School and the Tiffin Business School. She lived almost her entire adult life in Shelby where she pursued retailing, served in the Stroup Insurance Agency, and retired in 1971 from the Copperweld Corporation where she was responsible for payroll and benefits for many years. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women organization, and an active member of the First Lutheran Church of Shelby, where she taught Sunday School for many years, as well as participating in other activities. She is well remembered for her kindness and gracious hospitality to others. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Marion Easterday of Shelby, a brother Paul Cahill of Tiro and a sister Miriam Cahill Butler of Mt Victory, Oh. She is survived by her son, Jack Easterday (and wife, Mary Cecil) of Dublin, Oh.; 2 grandchildren, Karen Marie Parsons (and husband, Kevin) of Gibsonia, Pa. and Ronald Easterday (and wife, Dorothy) of Poulsbo, Wash.; 3 great-grandchildren, Amy, Tim, and Kelly Parsons; a brother Vern Cahill (and wife, Ruth) of Columbus, Oh.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the BARKDULL FUNERAL HOME, 33 N. Gamble Street, Shelby, on Thursday March 29 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and at the First Lutheran Church, 33 Broadway, Shelby, on Friday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday at the First Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at the Tiro Oakland Cemetery on Rte 98 near Tiro. EVANS Faye E. Evans, age 52, of Columbus, died Monday, March 26, 2001. Retired from the City of Columbus, Department of Parks & Recreation. Preceded in death by parents Albert and Edith Casanova. Survived by daughter, Nickie Lee Kraft; son, Jeremy Jay Kraft; granddaughters, Brittany and Brianna, all of Muskokee, Okla.; best friend and companion, David K. Martin; brother, Albert L. Casanova, Dayton; sister, Marcia J. Woliver, West Alexandria, Oh.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 4 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2001 at RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME, 2383 N. FISHER Funeral service for James L. Fisher, age 61, of Pataskala, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2001, at the Kirkersville Chapel of HENDERSON, Van ATTA & JOHNSTON FUNERAL HOMES with the Rev. Jerry Sargent officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery. Mr. Fisher, who was born October 7, 1939 in Robinson, Ill., died Tuesday morning, March 27, 2001 at his home. He was a son of Margaret (Clements) Fisher of Titusville, FL and the late William Henry Alfred Fisher. He was a 1958 graduate of Robinson High School, and received an Associates Degree from The Ohio State University. Mr. Fisher worked as an Accountant. He is survived by wife, Donna J. (Corbett) Fisher; son and daughter-in-law, James L., II and Cathy J. Fisher of Westerville; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry L. and Timothy W. Shomo of Galena, OH; grandchildren, Elizabeth J., Tim J. and Victoria L. Shomo; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Donald Miller of Titusville, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Franklin and Joy Fisher of Los Angeles, CA.; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. "Do not grieve for me when I die, I will be with those that I love and in no pain any longer." HANSON Irene Elizabeth Hanson, age 89, of Columbus, died Monday, March 26, 2001 at Doctors Hospital West. Preceded in death by her loving husbands Lewis S. Lancaster and Charles E. Hanson, parents, son Jason W. Lancaster and daughter Doris Jean Jarvis. Our beloved mother and grandmother is survived by her children, Roxie P. Webb of Columbus, Lewis S. Lancaster, Jr. of Fairfield, Calif., Shirley F. Lancaster of Norman, Ariz. and Darlene Furman of Columbus; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Longtime member of the Briggs Road Baptist Church. Funeral service 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2001 at the Briggs Road Baptist Church, 3231 Briggs Rd., Columbus with Pastor Ronald Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery. HARTWELL Paul Raymond "Ratchet" Hartwell, age 46, of Grove City passed away March 26, 2001 at 3:16 p.m. in his residence after a long courageous battle with cancer. Paul was a Quality Control Inspector at Schuler Inc. and a member of The American Welding Society. Preceded in death by parents Lawrence and Marian Hartwell and brother Donald B. Hartwell. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Kathy of 25 years; son, Christopher Hartwell; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jason Fannin and beautiful granddaughter, Jasmine Rose Fannin or "Yazzy" to her PaPa. Other survivors all whom he loved dearly include his very special father and mother-in-law, Shorty and Rosie Noel; loving brothers and sister, Jack (Joyce) Hartwell, James (Marie) Hartwell, Robert (Teri) Hartwell, Linda (Bill) Schofield; sisters-in-law, Barb Hartwell, Dorothy Snouffer, Judy (Steve) Jester, Sherry Shields; aunt, Juanita Jones; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pastor Jeff (Tammy) Fannin, also very special friends to Paul, will officiate the ceremony. HAVENS H. Denver Havens, age 89, suddenly Saturday, March 24, 2001 in Stuart, Fla., resident of Groveport, Oh. WW II Army Veteran. Retired Cashier from the City of Columbus Clerk of Courts. Member of Columbus Home Plate Club and Old Timer's Football League. Preceded in death by wife Anna and brother Cecil Havens. Survived by children, Patricia (James) Drillien of Elkhart, Ind., H. Thomas Havens of Houston, Tex., Sandra (James) Archiable, Matthew (Colleen) Havens; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. HINES Erma E. Hines, 79, of Ashville, passed away Tuesday at her residence. Born May 23, 1921 to the late Joseph and Bertha Wolfe Frazier. Erma worked for Lazarus for 17 years as well as being a home maker, was a member of Hedges Chapel UMC, Womens Republican Club, Christian Womens Club, Pickaway Co. Senior Center, Lazarus Retirement Group, Nebraska Grange for 60 years, Clothing Center and participated in the Pumpkin Show Bake and Can Goods competition. She was preceded in death by parents, son Donnie, daughter Sheryl Laxton, brothers Eldon, Chester, Turney and John, sisters Rose Nesser and Hulda Calton. Survived by her husband, Wayne, to whom she was married for 61 years; son, Jerry (Nancy) Hines, Ashville; daughter, Nancy (Gene) West, Pataskala; grandchildren, Sherry Cummins, Kristi Hodge, Stephanie Hill, Amber Kelley, Jodi Musick, Jud Hines and Wendy Laxton; great-grandchildren, Brian Hodge, Daemon Kelley and Allison Hill; several nieces and nephews.
