Founder of the Gospel Sing at the K of C Hall on S. High St. in the 1960's. Preceded in death by father Clarence R. Unger and mother Opal V. Unger (Keefer). Also preceded by first wife Doris (Stewart) Unger. Survived by loving wife, Joanne Unger. Also survived by daughter, Karen (Jim) Reitz of Columbus; sons, Fred (Tina) Unger, Jr., Columbus and John (Debbie) Unger, Newark; grandchildren, Tim (Laura) Reitz, Holly (Dave) Adair, Jamie Reitz, Mindy Reitz, Charie (Gary) Parfitt, Todd Unger, Eric Unger, Brandon Unger; great-grandchildren, Joseph Reitz, Adam Adair, Keifer Reitz and Dylan Parfitt. Also survived by step-children, Darren (Sally) Lacy, Brian (Nicole) Lacy, Cindy (Tony) Daniels; step-grandchildren, Olivia Lacy, Grant and Hunter Lacy, Chelsea Daniels; step-great-grandchildren, Jodi Reitz, Justin and Mathew Adair. Family will receive friends at SHAW-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 4341 N. High St., 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, where Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday by Rev. Eric Williams. URFER John A. Urfer, age 80, of Grove City, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2001 at Monterey Care Center. Preceded in death by parents Adolph and Lena (Zwahlen) Urfer and grandson Johnny Urfer. John was a 1938 graduate of Grove City High School and was the owner of Urfer's Garage for over 40 years. He was a loving father, grandpa and great-grandpa. Survived by son, Henry (Rose) Urfer; daughter, Judy (Thurman) Wheeler, both of Grove City; grandchildren, Bret (Ruth) Dyke of Port Clinton, Terry (John) Preece, Russell (Jeannie) Urfer, both of Grove City and Jewell Urfer of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Justin, Nicole, Adam, Grant, Taylor and Ryan; brother, Bill (Helen) Urfer of Grove City; sister, Dorothy Duffy of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held. Arrangements completed by MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 2697 Columbus St., Grove City.

VONDRAN W. Earl Vondran, age 44, died Monday in Brazil. He was a native of Benton Harbor, Mich. Founder and managing partner of Source International. Member of Lake Forest Country Club and Southeast Christian Church. Survived by his wife, Claudia Vondran; 2 daughters, Jenna and Katie Vondran; son, Drew Vondran; mother, Willmath Yadon; father, William A. Vondran; brother, Don Vondran; sisters, Donna Mullis, Jean Parker and Vickie Potts. Service 10 a.m. Saturday at his church, 920 Blankenbaker Rd., Louisville, Ky. with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. WAGNER Mamie Ezilla (Fortner) Wagner left this life Tuesday, January 30, 2001. Born March 9, 1917. Retired Ohio Packing Co. Longtime member East Columbus Christian Church. She served her country by working at Curtiss-Wright during WW II while her husband fought overseas for 3 years. Accomplished homemaker, cook, seamstress and craft maker. Preceded in death by parents and husband Cecil E. Wagner. She was a wonderful, loving and giving mother and grandmother. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Susan E. and Gerald L. Bailey; grandchildren, Brian E. (Jennifer) Bailey, Christopher Bailey and Angela Price; sister, Georgia M. Keller; sister-in-law and husband, Mae and Bob Cohagan; brother-in-law, James Wagner; many nieces and nephews. A very special lady, one who would give anything she had to those she loved. One who preferred to keep to herself, yet made great friends of the staff at Main St. Terrace Care Center, Lancaster in her short stay, the staff whose help will never be forgotten. Funeral service Thursday 12noon, EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. Livingston Ave., where friends may call 1 hour prior to service. Dr. Greg Widener of E.C.C. Church officiating. WALDMAN George G. Waldman, of Columbus and Tamarac, Fla. Survived by his wife, Joan Waldman of Tamarac, Fla. and Columbus; daughters, Barbara (David) Bishoff, Lakeland, Fla. and Susan Weinberg, Coral Springs, Fla.; sons, Daniel Waldman, Columbus, Oh. and Howard Waldman, Hollywood, Fla.; cousin, Phil Waldman, Columbus; 7 grandchildren. Mr. Waldman was a member of Congregation Agudas Achim. Founder and Owner of United Roofing and Construction and a survivor of the Holocaust. Funeral service will be held Thursday 2 p.m. at THE EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3232 E. Main St. with Rabbi Steven Abrams officiating. Burial at the New Agudas Achim Cemetery. WELLS Hunter H. Wells, age 70, Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at the residence. Retired employee of Royal Paper Stock. Survived by wife of 30 years, Viola; brother, Roy Lee Wells of Nashville, TN; sisters, Virgil (T. WICK Linda J. Wick, age 55, of Dublin, Oh., died Tuesday, January 30, 2001 with her daughters at her side. Employee of Rousch Hardware in Dublin for 13 years. She is preceded in death by her father John Dickerson and survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Don; daughters, Michele (Eric) Hentschel of Dublin and Leslie Wick of Berkley, Mich.; grandchildren, Alex, Mitch and Jackie; mother, Marge Dickerson of Harrison Twp., Mich.; twin sister, Laura (Bruce) Schofield of Gladwin, Mich.; sisters, Diane (Jerry) Ellman of Petoskey, Mich., Julie (Tom) Piepszowski of East Pointe, Mich., Wendy (Michael) Weber of Macomb, Mich.; mother-in-law, Donna Wick, Racine, Wis.; 2 nieces; 5 nephews. COMBS Dorothy H. Maxfield Combs, 75, longtime resident of Pickaway Co. for over 50 years, died Wednesday January 31, 2001. Preceded in death by husband Edgar E., 1986, sisters Millie Bolen and Ruth Craig. Survived by brother, William (Ruth) Grubb, Westerville; sister, Jane Haenszel, Grove City; grandsons, Josh Bailey and Colt Combs, son of Eddie Combs, Williamsport; close friend of 40 years, Ruth Hegele; many nieces, nephews, cousins and host of friends whose lives she touched, she was a MOTHER TO MANY. She retired as executive secretary for Franklin County Childrens Services and North American Rockwell, Ohio Contractors Association. COX Elrose Randall Cox, 87, a resident of Bexley for over 40 years, died Friday, January 5, 2001 at the Hospice House in Carmel, Calif. Born October 2, 1913 in El Reno, Okla., Elrose grew up in the Hyde Park area of Chicago, where she resided until her marriage to Jerome R. Cox in 1939. She was an office manager for Muzak in Columbus and a legal secretary for the law offices of Jerome R. Cox. Active at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Bexley, she supported many musical organizations including the Columbus Symphony and WOSU. Preceded in death by her husband Jerome, 1978 and her sister Anita. Survived by a brother, Ferris of Frederick, Md.; step-son, Jerome R. Cox, Jr. of St. Louis, Mo.; son, F. Randall Cox of Girard, Pa.; daughters, Elrose "Candy" Myers-Owen of Marina, Calif. and Anita C. Hunt of Cadillac, Mich.; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Bexley, date and time to be announced (May or June). Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Coast, P.O. Box 2750, Monterey, Calif. 93942.
