(George) Sheehan, Harold Mark Moore and Roger D. (Hannah) Moore; grandchildren, Timothy P. (Judy) Welsh, Mark A. Moore, Adam T. Moore, Rachel D. Moore, George M. Sheehan, Christopher A. McGANNON Howard E. (Mac) McGannon, born August 16, 1920, died Thursday, February 1, 2001. A lifelong resident of Columbus and the West Side, Howard was a 1939 graduate of West High School, served in the U.S. Army in England during WW II, worked for David Davies Meats, State Farm Insurance, DeVoe Reynolds Paints, Seagram Distillers and retired from Protection Service, Inc. He was a loving father, husband and friend to all who knew him. Member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Preceded in death by his father Henery V. McGannon, mother Ellen Yates McGannon, brother William A. McGannon. Survived by wife, Letty; son, Michael (Lee) McGannon; daughter, Nancy (Jim) Fry; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many dear family members. SANDS W. Mary Sands, age 93, of Gahanna, died Thursday, February 1, 2001 at the Inn at Chestnut Hill. 50 year member of Mifflin Presbyterian Church. Member of Caledonia Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. Veteran U.S. Army, WW II. Member WAC Veterans Association and Daughter's of the Confederacy. Survived by daughters, Linda Ann (Gary Paul) Price of Gahanna and Sheryl Joy (Lenny) Zangardi of New Albany; grandchildren, C. Darren Price, Adam Patrick Price, Mary Beth Zangardi and David John Zangardi; sister, Georgia Florence Murray; and many nieces and nephews. TAYLOR Philip Malcolm Taylor, 83, of Somerset Center, formerly of Mt. Perry, died at 2:28 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2001 at Genesis Good Samaritan. Phil was born May 31, 1917 near Mt. Perry, the son of the late George W. and Helen Clara Roth Taylor. He was a 1935 graduate of Glenford High School, a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Somerset for over 50 years, a long time trustee of the Lutheran Cemetery, was a charter member of Glenford Lions Club, and was a former member of Hocking Valley Steam and Antique Power Club. He retired in 1982 as a electrician from Central Silica after 40 years of service. Surviving are 7 daughters, Dorothy Kennedy of Mt. Perry, Phyllis (Sherman) Shoemaker of Sego, Virginia (James) Verne of Campobello, S.C., Kathryn (Gary) Ortman of Thornville, June Taylor of Mt. Perry, Rachel (Rick) Staley of Zanesville and Mary (Reuben) Landrum of Newark; 1 son, Henry (Carole) Taylor of York, Pa.; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 brother, Fred Taylor of Mt. Perry; 1 sister, Delpha Mitchell of Glenford. He is preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife of 47 years, whom he married October 26, 1938 Marjorie Hoffman Taylor, 1985, 2 grandchildren Jason and Holly Thompson, 1984, 2 sisters Gertrude Yarger and Sara Audrey McGlaughlin and 1 brother Russell Taylor. Thompson Wallace Thompson, 81, of Columbus, was called home to be with his Creator on February 1, 2001. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Wallace was born in DeHue, W.Va. on Christimas Day, 1919. He served in the Army Air Corps during WW II and retired from Barnaby-Cheney in 1987. Survived by wife, Elsie Thompson; siblings, Hagar Thompson, Robert Thompson, Hubert Thompson, Madalyn Hunt, Catherine McDowell and Virginia Wright; children, Laura Marshall, Richard Thompson, Roger Thompson and Brian Thompson; step-children, Ernest Tidball, Kenneth Tidball, Carl Tidball, Donald Tidball, David Thompson, Debbie Fredrich and Cheryl Cooper; 29 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Monday February 5, 2001 at 11:30 a.m., SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, Oh. with viewing hours from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2001.
