PICKEL Michael Steven Pickel, 44, of Reynoldsburg, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2001. He was employed by Reynoldsburg City Schools as a master mechanic and in building service. Member of the NRA. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a racing fan. Preceded in death by parents William and Mary Pickel and granddaughter Lacey Leigh. He was a loving father, brother, and nephew. He is survived by sons, Michael John (Alicea) and Benjamin Levi; brother, Randy; aunts and uncles, Robert and Norma Cochran and Gloyd and Martha Weir; special friend, Patricia "Tish"; other relatives and many, many friends. Family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the COTNER FUNERAL HOME, 7369 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg, where the service will be Monday 10 a.m. Father Joseph Ehwald officiating. Interment in Glen Rest Memorial Estate.

POSTLETHWAIT June W. Postlethwait, age 80, of Columbus, February 2, 2001 at her home. Preceded in death by husband Ray C. Postlethwait (December 1, 2000); grandson Shawn W. Postlethwait; brothers Dick and Frank Noland. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Martin Ray and Patricia Postlethwait of Columbus; granddaughter, Rae Michele Johnson of Pataskala; great-granddaughter, Karie D. Smith; sister, Kattie Kimble of Canton, Oh.; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at GRAUMLICH & SON FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. POWELL Louis A. "Louie" Powell, age 72, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2001. He was a 1946 graduate of Reynoldsburg High School, retired after 20 years of service with the City of Reynoldsburg Street Department, member of the Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, a local square dance caller and 30 year member of Square Wheels Camping Square Dance Club. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Maggie Sleen) of 50 years - anniversary July 30, 2000; son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Denise Powell; daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Rocky Hurst; grandsons, Brett Hurst and Edward Powell II.; granddaughters, Amanda Hurst and Sarah Powell; brother Rollan and Ann Powell Jr.; sisters, Eleanor Jean Young and Elizabeth Ann (Ted) Schenz; brother-in-law, John and Trudy Stephens of Florida and William Steen of Reynoldsburg; sister-in-law, Hettie (Steen) Minzer of Arizona; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Floyd R. and Flora (Merle) Powell; sister Edna Mae (Powell) Stephens; and brother-in-law Robert Young Sr. His family will receive friends Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the COTNER FUNERAL HOME, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, where his service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m., Reverend Ken Marckel officiating. SANTO Irma E. Santo, age 84, Thursday, February 1, 2001 at Columbus Center. Survived by daughter, Creta (Anthony) Purpura; son, Kenneth (Andrea) Santo; grandchildren, Tina (Lloyd) Early, Thomas (Amber) Purpura, Jason (Robin) Santo, Kelly Santo; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Nicolina, Bailey and Brady; brother, Irvin (Nancy) Barta; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband Albert and brothers John, Albert and Ernest Barta. Lifelong member of St. Ladislas Catholic Church. SIMMERMON Donald F. Simmermon, age 76, died February 2, 2001 at Doctors West. Survived by daughter, Donna McNeil; grandchildren, Tina (John) Randazzio, Teresa (Richard) Conklin, Jimmie John (Kim) McNeil, Toni (Lee) Payne, Charles Simmermon Jr.; 16 great-grandchildren. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St., where a AmVets service will be held at 7 p.m.

TAYLOR Robert "Bob" Taylor, age 59, died suddenly February 1, 2001. Preceded in death by son Robby. Beloved husband until eternity, survived by devoted wife of 33 years, Renee; daughter, Tonia (Richard Cain); sons, Tyrone (Kelly Morris), Todd (Tanesha Newsome); grandchildren who were loved very very much, Todd "Little Man" Taylor and Maria Renee Taylor; mother, Melvina Taylor; four brothers; five sisters; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. Veteran of the Vietname War. He was a dedicated amateur boxing official as a judge and referee, receiving recognition in national championships. He was awarded as Outstanding Official at the Ohio State Fair. Visitation will be held Sunday 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St., with a Veteran of War service being held at 7 p.m.

TEPPER Robert Tepper, age 73, of Columbus, died February 3, 2001 at the residence. Retired from U.S. Army, veteran WWII, recently employed Vietnam Veterans Association and Columbus State Community College. Member of Salvation Army. Preceded in death by wife Jayne. Survived by son, John (Wanda) Tepper; daughters, Pat Williams, Barbara Clayton; 6 grandchildren, Richard, Ricklee, Andrew, James, Stevin, Corinthia, 8 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 West Broad St., Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where service will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery.

WALTERS James David Walters, age 54 of Columbus, Oh., passed away February 2, 2001 at Mt. Carmel East. He was an operator/engineer with Local #18. Survived by his loving companion, Andy Condos; mother, Alwanda Walters; son, T.J. and wife Nieca; sisters, Donna (Doug) Quick, Gay (Bill) VanGorden; three nieces, Samantha and Anitha Quick, and Sidney VanGorden, all of Columbus; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Monday at SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 E. State St., where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2001. WATSON Dorothy Watson, age 90, of Columbus, formerly of Daytona Beach, Fla., died Friday, February 2, 2001 at Whetstone Care Center. Preceded in death by her husbands Leo Tait and William Watson. Dorothy is survived by her son, Charles (Judy) Watson and granddaughter, Gwen Watson, all of Columbus and niece, Catherine Clark-Holman of Barbados. WAUGH Carlson "Nute" Waugh, age 74, born in North Wilkesboro, N.C., departed this life Wednesday, January 31, 2001 at his residence. Honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. Retired employee of D.C.S.C. Member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, where he served as Deacon for many years. Preceded in death by Edith Waugh, parents John and Pauline Waugh, sister Pansy Mitchell, brothers Palmer, Guy and Eugene Waugh. WHEELER Beatrice E. Wheeler, age 87, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2001 at the Arbors at Hilliard Nursing Home. Survived by brother, Frank Hupp of Newark; daughter, Barbara (Bill) Bryant of Vero Beach, Fla.; son, James (Bertie) Sanderson of Westerville; son, William Sanderson of LaPorte, Tex.; daughter, Candace (Sonny) Meadows of Galloway; daughter, Deborah (Dennis) Cater of Brown Twp.; 11 grandchildren, Nicole Cater, Dina Cater, Tami Bryant, Cindi Bryant, Kathy Catlett, Sherry Crothers, Christy Lisy, Jackie Sanderson, Michelle Harter, Mike Meadows, Mark Meadows; 14 great-grandchildren; close friend, Andy McKenzie and family. WHITE Dale E. White, 83, of Columbus, Thursday, February 1, 2001 at Riverside Hospital. Retired from Landmark. Member of Linden United Methodist Church for over 50 years. He loved gardening. Preceded in death by son Michael and brothers Merle and Don and sister Lela and sister-in-law Corinne. Survived by wife of 59 years, Toby; daughters, Sandra (Larry) Finkenbine of Greenwood, Ind. and Debbie (Jack) Spencer of Westerville; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth (Fred) Ford and Jean Burke and brother, Dessell (Laura) White. WILCOX Beatrice L. Wilcox, age 94 of Plain City, died Friday, February 2, 2001 at Milcrest Nursing Center, Marysville. Born October 25, 1906 in Athens, Ohio. Plain City Elementary School Cook for 33 years and volunteered at the Memorial Hospital of Union County and Pleasant Valley Senior Citizens until the age of 90. Former member Rebekah Lodge #132, Plain City. Attended the Plain City United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by parents Palmer and Etna (Robinson) Tippie; infant daughter Juanita Wilcox; husband Henry L. Wilcox - 1941; son Richard Wilcox - 1991; brother Lowell Tippie; sister Lula Copeland; son-in-law Frank Jester - 1997. Survived by daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" Jester of Columbus; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Peggy Wilcox, of Marysville; sister, Celia Ankrom, of Lima.
