GAREE Margaret L. Garee, age 76, of Sunbury, Wednesday, February 7, 2001 at Deskins Manor in Johnstown, Oh. Retired from Whitney Insurance Agency in Sunbury after serving 50 years. 53 year member of Sunbury United Methodist Church, Sunbury, Oh. and member of Big Walnut Historical Society. Preceded in death by parents and sister Bertha Garee. Survived by Dick and Marsha Garee of Centerburg and their children, Gina Garee of Sunbury, Rich Garee of Centerburg and his family, Angela and Nickolas Garee; and many friends. GRIFFIN JR. MD William R. Griffin Jr., MD, age 65, Tuesday, Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Born in Columbus. Graduate Columbus Academy, Class of 1953 serving as president of the school and playing varsity football. Graduate The Ohio State University with a bachelors of science in pre-med, Class of 1957; graduate The Ohio State University Medical School, Class of 1961. Completed his residency at Mt. Carmel Hospital where he was chief resident. Physician specializing in internal medicine. Retired from private practice. Affiliated with Mt. Carmel East Hospital, Mt. Carmel Medical Center, St. Ann's Hospital and Grant Medical Center, where he served on a number of boards. For a number of years served as a medical director at Buckeye Steel, Bordens and Federal Glass. He served with the Bureau of Disability Determination for over 35 years beginning at Spring St., July 1, 1955. Member St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, Alpha Kappa Kappa Medical Fraternity, Bexley Pistol Club, Ohio National Guard, Ohio National Guard Rifle Team, Moose Lodge #1427 Worthington Chapter and American Medical Association. Survived by loving wife of 25 years, Sandra Lutz Griffin; son, Cole Shawn Griffin; sister, Ann (Thomas) Turpie-Hooker; nephew, Keith (Belinda) Turpie Jr.; niece, Sheryl (Robert) Turpie-Munoz; several other relatives and friends. Member of St. Matthias Catholic Church and active in the Columbus Dioceasan Commission on Justice and Peace. Recipient of the Mary B. Lynch Award. Preceded in death by parents, brother Neil Hinterschied, sister Elizabeth Hinterschied, sister-in-law Mary Lou Hinterschied. Jones "Barney" Bernard Ferguson Jones, 66, died February 7, 2001 at home. Preceded in death by parents Bernard L. and Marylee F. Jones and brother James P. Jones. Graduated Mt. Lebenon High School, Pittsburgh, Penn. and Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenn., where he was a Sigma Chi. Member of Broad St. Presbyterian Church, Columbus Country Club, American Seniors Golf Association and National Association of Realtors. Founding member of Wedgewood Country Club and Jefferson Country Club where he served on the Board. Past President Columbus Stock and Bond Club, served in U.S. Army. Broker-Realtor, Wedgewood Realty, managing owner TBR Enterprises, Member BIA and President of Rax Restaurants. Survived by wife, Deborah; daughters, Jennifer Stephenson and Sarah (Matthew) Nusken; son, John Bernard (Laura) Jones; granddaughters, Abigail J. Stephenson, Kelsey A. Stephenson, Sarah B. KRENEK Bryan C. Krenek, age 85, of Columbus, Saturday, February 3, 2001 at Willow Brook Christian Village. Son of the late Anton and Anna Krenek, and also preceded in death by wife of 62 years Rose Krenek. Retired co-owner of Kenmore Bakery. Survived by daughters, Charlene (Nello) Spagnol and Sandy (M. Andrew) Ross; grandchildren, Amanda (David) Bulter, Alicia Herbert (fiance, Luke Busby) and twins, Justin and Ryan Kapp; brothers, George and James Krenek; sisters, Annie Heimann and Mary Jane Knoderer. Memorial Service will be 3 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2001 at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 S. State St., Westerville. LAMB Louise Marburger Lamb, born August 13, 1905 in Circleville, Oh. Our beloved Grandmother and Great-Grandmother passed away February 5, 2001. Louise or "Mimi" as we was fondly known by her family and friends was born in Circleville, Oh. She lived in Columbus, Oh. for 50 years before moving with her husband, Dr. Edgar Q. Lamb to the Phoenix area in the 1960's. Both Ed and Louise were members of Trinity Methodist Church in Columbus, Oh. Louise and her husband were long-standing members of Scioto Country Club. Louise was an office manager for a prominent Architectural firm, and was the Office Manager for her husband's Medical Practice in both Columbus and the Phoenix area. As an avid Bowler and Golfer, she spent many enjoyable times with her old Golfing friends at both Arizona Country Club, of which she and her late husband were members of, as well as the paradise valley area. She will always be lovingly remembered by her surviving grandsons, Gregory, Jeffrey and Brent Spencer. She is also survived by 3 great-grandsons, Douglas, Justin and Wesley Spencer; nieces, Mrs. Donna Gentile of Olathe, Kan. and Mrs. Barbara Jones of Columbus, Oh. Mrs. Lamb was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Edgar Q. Lamb and her only daughter Lois L. Spencer. Service will be held at GREEN AREAS MORTUARY, Friday, February 9, 2001 at 10 a.m. in the chapel. A short graveside service will follow.

LONG Vera N. Long, 82, of Delaware, Oh., died Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. Born May 7, 1918 in Columbus, she had lived in Delaware County since 1947. She was retired from Hickory Knoll School, Delaware County, where she had been a bus driver. In the early 1950's she had also been active as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Concord Township Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include 1 son, Donald L. Long, married to Jennifer; 1 daughter, Nancy Maschmann, married to Ernie; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald H. Long, parents E.S. and Nellie Wharton, 1 grandson Kirk Maschmann. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Red Cross, Delaware County Chapter, 5 W. Winter St., Delaware, Oh. 43015, Concord Township Fire Department, 7943 Dublin Rd., Delaware, Oh. 43015, Grant/Riverside Methodist Hospital Foundation for E.R. LOVE Margaret E. "Peg" Love, a longtime resident of Bexley, Oh., died Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Oh. She was born March 9, 1920 in Montgomery, W.Va., the daughter of the late Benjamin F. Love and Maude B. Connor Love. Ms. Love retired from the State of Ohio in 1977 where she was Supervisor of Physical Education, Recreation and Safety for the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education in Ohio. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees from The Ohio State University. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority from 1941-46 and was a K-12 health and physical education teacher in the Montgomery West Va. Schools. From 1946-65 she served as health and physical education teacher, intramural coordinator and student health council advisor at Bexley High School, where she later became Dean of Students. Among honors she was the recipient of the Cleveland Women's Ph. Ed. and Recreation Association Special Service Award and the OAHPER Meritorious Award in 1977. Ms. Love's other notable titles and achievements have been serving for The Ohio Association for Health, Physical Ed. and Recreation from 1966-68; being named Ohio Lives in 1968; Who's Who in American Women in 1969 and numerous other awards. Peg is survived by her many students and friends. Burial will be in Montgomery, W.Va. by SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 614-861-6268. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 10 at Brookwood Presbyterian Church, 2685 E. Livingston Ave. with Rev. Dr. Thomas Mori officiating. Memorials may be made to Brookwood Presbyterian Church or O.S.U. in her memory.

MAYHON Troy Mayhon, age 64, of Bexley, passed away February 5, 2001. He was born September 5, 1936 in Lenore, W.Va. Retired from General Electric in June of 1998 after 17 years of service. Member The Gahanna Freewill Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents Gracie (Bartrum) Mayhon Gilman and Kim Mayhon, 1936, step-dad Burl Gilman Sr. Survived by wife, Birdie (Canterbury) Mayhon; son, Troy Lynn (Arletta) Mayhon of Fairborn, Oh.; daughter, Debbie (Jeff) Foster of Colorado Springs, Colo.; step-son, Chris Marcum at home; step-brother, Burl Gilman, Jr. of Ripley, W.Va.; sister, Janet G. (Arnold) Shrewsbury of Carthage, Tex.; 9 grandchildren; nephew, Stephen A. Shrewsbury of North Canton, Oh.; niece, Kelly Jean (Mark) Rhodes of Keatchie, La.; and the main attraction at their home and heart, "Little Harley" (toy peek-a-poo). MIESSE Harry E. Miesse, age 72, of Westerville, Sunday, February 4, 2001 at St. Ann's Hospital. Veteran of U.S. Army Air Force. Retired from Ohio Bell. Member of St. Elizabeth Church. Survived by loving wife of 49 years, Rose; children, Rosanne (Roy) Clouston of Shadeyside, Oh., Kathleen (Paul) Damron of Columbus, Oh., Linda (Dennis) Williams of Marion, Oh., Elizabeth (Kevin) Weakley of Westerville, Oh., Mark Miesse of Hilliard, Oh.; grandchildren, Becky, Megan, Lindsey, Kim, Ryan, Aaron, Raymond and Rowan; sisters, Pat Saul of Columbus, Oh., Betty Cea of Howard, Oh.; numerous nieces and nephews. MIHALKA Marguerite Kelser Mihalka, age 88, February 4, 2001 of Columbus. Born in Westerville, Oh. Preceded in death by husband Joseph A. Mihalka, sister Lucy Kelser Hatch. Survived by son, Josef Alexander Mihalka. Graduate of The Ohio State University and active member of North Broadway United Methodist Church since 1952. Taught in Columbus Public Schools, as well as in Medina, Mayfield Heights, Lima and Westerville. Memorial Service will be Saturday 1 p.m. February 10, 2001 at North Broadway United Methodist Church, where family will receive friends after the service. Rev. Richard I. Ward officiating.
