McFADDEN Helen R. McFadden, 89, Bloomingburg, died Tuesday, February 13, 2001 in Washington C.H. Preceded by husband Edgar J. McFadden in 1991. Survived by son, Edgar M. McFadden of Bloomingburg; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Judith J.) Condren of New Albany; and two grandchildren, Jodie M. Condren of Worthington and Janson C. Condren of Chicago, Ill. Funeral Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the KIRKPATRICK FUNERAL HOME in Washington C.H. with Rev. Judith Birdstall officiating. Burial in Bloomingburg Cemetery. Visitation Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at funeral home. Memorial contributions to Bloomingburg Presbyterian Church, c/o Mrs. Mary Goldberg, 8109 Danville Road-NE, Bloomingburg, Ohio 43106.

McNEELY Harold H. McNeely, age 76, of Marion and formerly of Marysville, died Monday afternoon at Marion General Hospital. He was retired from International Harvester Co. in Springfield and during retirement had worked at McAuliffe's True Value Hardware in Marysville and Matthews-Kennedy Dodge, Inc. in Marion. Harold was an Army Air Corp veteran of WW II serving as a crew chief with the 8th Air Force, 2nd Air Division, 458th Bomb Group. He was a life member of VFW Post #7201 in Marion and a member of the Mighty 8th Historical Group. He enjoyed antiques and cardinals. A family man, he loved his grandchildren and daughters. He was born August 17, 1924 in Greenview, W.Va. to the late Emmett and Louemma Richmond McNeely. He married Florence E. Grauman on June 11, 1958 in Marysville. She preceded him in death September 1, 1986. His brother, Carmel McNeely, also preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Mike) Cummins of Ashville, Virginia Shutts and her fiancee', Russell Miller of Marysville; granddaughters, Elizabeth (Jeffery) Cummins Allen, Michelle (Jeffrey) Stiver and Cheryl Cummins and her fiancee', Brian Rhodes. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren, Sydney Elizabeth Allen and Samual Huston Allen; special friend, Mabel Conley of Marion; 2 brothers; 3 sisters. Calling hours will be held Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the INGRAM FUNERAL HOME, Marysville, where service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Glenn Althouse officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery with the Union County Honor Guard providing military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

QUICK Fred L. Quick, 74, of Grove City, died Tuesday February 13, 2001 in Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Retired from Insurance Services Office of Ohio. Army Veteran of WW II and 50 year member of Harmar Lodge #390, Marietta, Oh. and Hiram Lodge #18 of Delaware, Oh. Survived by wife, Dottie; children, Fred (Sheri) Quick and Randa (Mark) Cameron. At Fred's request there will be a private service held at Concord Cemetery. SCALF Garnet Scalf, age 89, Tuesday, February 13, 2001. Preceded in death by husband James E. Scalf. Survived by daughter, Carmel Y. Haney of Fairfield, Oh.; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held Thursday 1 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN EAST CHAPEL, 4019 E. SCHNEIBLE Mary Lourdes (Smith) Schneible, passed away on February 13, 2001 in McKinney, TX. Born September 21, 1916 in Utica, New York. Preceded in death by her husband Stuart C. Schneible and sister Patsy Smith Jones. Prior to moving to Texas in 1995, Mary was a resident of Columbus, Oh., where she was a Realtor for more than 35 years. Mary is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Myles and Cindy Schneible of McKinney, Tex.; brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Marion Smith of Whitesboro, N.Y.; nieces, Mary Lourdes Tornblom, Colleen Schumacher, Terry Knight, Sally O'Callahan, Laurie Wasserstein; nephews, Tom Jones and Ben Smith; many great-nieces and nephews. SHAFFER C. Scott Shaffer, age 31, of Columbus, died unexpectedly Saturday, February 10, 2001 at his residence. He was employed as a manager at the Henderson Road McDonald's store. Scott is survived by his father and step-mother, Charles and Helen Shaffer of Dublin; mother, Linda Shaffer of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Wendy (Adrian) Sales of Collinsville, IL, Jill (Rick Martin) Donahue of Hilliard, OH. and Jami Donahue of Dublin, OH; paternal grandmother, Jeanne Shaffer of Bradenton, FL; nieces and nephews; and many friends. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where the funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, February 15, 2001. SITES Virginia "Jackie" Stevens Sites, age 67, born April 8, 1932, died February 12, 2001 at OSU Medical Center. Preceded in death by parents Bessie and Green Stevens, 3 sisters, 4 brothers and special friend Charlie Brown. Survived by sons, Larry, Michael, Randy and Eddie Sites, all of Columbus; sisters, Edith Love of Grove City and Barbara (Glen) Kirk of Columbus; brothers, Bill (Rose) Stevens and Ray (Marilyn) Stevens of Columbus; many nieces and nephews; also dear friend, Marty Jones. STEPHENSON Evelyn B. Stephenson, 93, of Phoenix, died on February 9, 2001. She was born on January 28, 1908 in W.Va. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Oh. and a retired restaurant owner. She is survived by her sons, Glen Baker of Phoenix and Robert Barnett of Las Cruces, N.M.; brother, Dale Chapman of Carroll, Oh.; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her first husband Carl Barnett, second husband Chester H. Stephenson and her son Larry Barnett. Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 16 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 9424 N. 7th Ave. Additional service will be held later in Oh. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, Ariz. 85014.

TOWNS Evangelist Coudia Cathleen Freeman Towns, age 76, departed this life to be with the Lord Friday, February 9, 2001 at O.S.U. Medical Center. Member of Family Missionary Baptist Church where she served as First Lady, Mother of the Church,. President of the Senior Choir and was an Honorary member of the Nurses Guild. She served as President of the Ministers' Wives Auxiliary of Mount Calvary District Association. Member of the Baptist Ministers' Wives nad Widows Alliance and the Interdenominational Ministers Wives and Widows Alliance. Preceded in death by parents Frank and Betty Freeman, husband Rev. Bennie Ray Towns and son Rily Towns. She leaves to cherish her memories daughters, Elizabeth Towns, Dorothy Elmore, Arlie Noel, Ruth (Robert) Jones, Mary (Bobby) Reynolds, Ann Towns; sons, James E., Charles R., Bennie Ray (Caroline) Jr., John H., William Lewis (Eugina), Elder Frank (Robin) Towns, Minister L.B. (Christina) Towns, James L., Samuel E. (Veddianne), Nathan R. (Mandy), Randy (Felicia) and Minister Kevin F. (Dion) Towns; brothers, Robert (Connie), John (Maggie), Charles (Elizabeth), Isaac (Mildred) and James Freeman; sisters, Mary Tate, Pearlean Alexander, Rose Mary (Rev. WESSEL William W. Wessel, age 75, of Arlington, TX and formerly of Columbus, Oh., died Sunday, February 11, 2001 at Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, TX. He was born August 1, 1925 in Pittsburgh, PA the son of Harry and Edith (Craig) Wessel. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WW II and later attended Purdue University. He was a retired electrical engineer-aircraft designer and worked as a consultant for several major aerospace contractors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons Steven A. Wessel and David L. Wessel, brother John Wessel and sister Edith Murphy. Bill is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 55 years, Leonora "Luring" Wessel of Arlington, TX; son, Tom Wessel and his wife, Judy Hartley Wessel of Upper Arlington, OH; daughter, Linda Rougeux of Arlington, TX; daughter-in-law, Karen Wessel of Columbia, MD; grandchildren, Stephanie McCall and her husband, Joe Sorkin of Madison, WI, Chera Millet and her husband, Brad of Austin, TX, and Christopher Rougeux and his wife, Rebecca of New Zealand; sister, Sara Wolfe of Warsaw, IN; and many nieces and nephews. BAKER (MASDEA) Amanda Mia Masdea Baker, age 7‡ months, Monday, February 12, 2001 at Children's Hospital, the beloved daughter of Jeff and Margi Baker of Gahanna. She was born 16 weeks prematurely at OSU Medical Center on June 24, 2000 and was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Westerville. Amanda Mia is a gift from God, a true miracle, and will remain an inspiration to us all. Preceded in death by her great-grandparents Joseph and Margaret Giantonio, Paul A. Baker of Lancaster, Joseph and Yolanda Masdea, and Roy and Naomi Faulkner, great-aunt and uncles Fred and Diana Calland and George Watts and aunt Melanie Baker of Lancaster.
