Survived by daughter, Linda (Milton) Blake; son, Harmon Lee Potter; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; dear friend, Margaret Fields and Inez Williams; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 255 E. State St., where the funeral service will be Monday at 1 p.m. Rev. William L. Snider officiating. Interment Glen Rest Cemetery.

SABINE Marilyn A. Sabine, 77, Ashville, died Friday, February 16, 2001 at Berger Hospital, Circleville. Born July 31, 1923 in Ashville to the late Howard and Jessie Rhoads Hedges. Member of Village United Methodist Church, Ashville, Pythian Sisters and Past Chiefs Club, Ashville, Susanna Wesley Circle, Pickaway Senior Center, several card clubs, Berger Hospital volunteer for 22 years, and a graduate of Ashville High School class of 1941. Preceded in death by parents; husband John; sister Rosemma Young; brother Harry "Buss" Hedges. Survived by son, Jerry (Margaret) Sabine, Fla.; daughter, Susan (Bob) Ferguson, Laurelville; grandchildren, Alesha Kennedy, Jon (Kim) Richard, and Laurie Cupoli; step-granddaughter, Casey; great-grandchildren, Chelsey Kennedy and Bailey Cupoli; nieces, Cindy Carnahan, Marty Mathers, and Becky Lindsey; great-nephews, Jay and Jeff Wippel; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Messick and Marvene "Bea" Sabine. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at OLIVER FUNERAL HOME, Ashville. Burial will be in Harrison Twp. Cemetery, Ashville. Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Sunday, February 18 and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, February 19 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Village United Methodist Church, Ashville. Pythian services 7 p.m. Monday.

SCHEERER Kenneth A. Scheerer, 74, April 7, 1926 - February 15, 2001. Retired Conrail Railroad. Service 11 a.m. Monday, WISE FUNERAL HOME, Bucyrus, Oh. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

SPRAGG Ruth Spragg, age 92, died February 13, 2001 at her residence. She was a resident of Upper Arlington. Graduated from North High School in 1927. Attended Ward Belmont in Nashville, Tenn. She received a Bachelor's Degree from Ohio Wesleyan in fine arts. She was also a Girl Scout Leader for 14 years. Preceded in death by father William H. Lauer, mother Minnette J. Lauer, sister Dorothy C. Paulson. Survived by her daughters, Susan Spragg Carr and Sally Spragg Kelly; grandchildren, John (Nancy) Kelly, Kent Kelly, Michael Kelly, Shawn (Elizabeth) Carr, Christopher (Jennifer) Carr, Aaron (Tiffany) Carr; great-grandchildren, Robert, James, John David, Richard, Sarah, Noah, Sierra, Nicholas, Chase and Korall; nephew, Zeph W. Paulson (Kim) and Chelsea. Memorial Service will be February 22 at the SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 E. State St. at 7:30 p.m. Family will receive friends prior to service at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the charity of one's choice.

TUDOR James Edward Tudor, age 72, of Westerville, Friday, February 16, 2001. Retired Chief Investigator for the State of Ohio Pharmacy Board. Consultant for Merck-MedCo. Former officer for the State Highway Patrol. Former member of the Whitehall Police Department. Worked for Swift and Co. and Prudential. Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Member of the Central College Presbyterian Church. Member of Eagles Club and V.F.W. Survived by wife, Donna Tudor; children, Jane and Jeff Welsh, James Jr. and Judy Tudor, Paul and Phyllis Tudor, Leslie and Paul Turner, Rhonda and Mike Motil, Rebecca and Steven Plonsky; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Charles and Raymond Tudor; sisters, June Lesher and Shirley Vingle; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by first wife Joan Tudor, parents Wilbur and Bertha Tudor, brothers Richard and John Tudor, sisters Marie Gornall, Margaret Tussing and Mary Jane Schmitt, grandson Chad Turner. VanVORHIS Sean L. VanVorhis, age 22, Thursday, February 15, 2001, very unexpectedly, St. Ann's Hospital. 1997 graduate of Johnstown-Monroe High School. Baseball coach at Johnstown-Monroe and Northridge High Schools. Employee of Pepsi of Columbus. Preceded in death by brother Seamus, grandparents James Lynch, Harold (Nancy) VanVorhis, cousins Kyle and Korey Lyons. Survived by parents, Steve and Kathy; brother, Liam; sisters, Shannon and Catie; grandmother, Dorothy Lynch; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Sean touched many lives and will be sadly missed by all. Visitation Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI FUNERAL HOME, 1068 S. WARD Evelyn L. Ward, age 90, of Westerville, died February 15, 2001 at St Ann's Hospital. She served as Captain in the Woman's Army Air Corp (WAAC) during WW II. Following military service, she worked for the Girl Scouts of the USA in Washington, DC and for the Rockford National Girl Scout Program Center in Potomac, Md. Since moving to Westerville in 1981, she was an active member of the Westerville Senior Center. She is preceded in death by her husband Lt. Col. Paul B. Ward; and is survived by daughter, Ellen (Mark) Capwell; grandsons, Erik and Ian. There will be no calling hours or service. Interment will be at Beachwood Cemetery, New Rochelle, N.Y. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Westerville Senior Center or to the Woman's Memorial at Arlington Cemetery. Arrangements by the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Westerville.

WESTFALL Charles "Paul" Westfall, age 66, of Columbus, went home to be with Jesus Thursday, February 15, 2001. Veteran U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife, Carol Westfall; sons and their wives, Daniel and Pam, Mark and Kim, Alan and Eileen; grandchildren, Christopher, Nickole, Mark Jr., Stephan, Aaron, Justin and Alex Westfall; sister, Sharon (Robert) Fosnaugh of Ft. Wayne. Funeral service 7 p.m. Sunday, February 18, at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, where family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until time of service. Private family burial on Monday.

ABBOTT Willis "Bill" F. Abbott, age 72, 40 year resident of Columbus, formerly of Amanda, Oh., passed away Friday, February 16, 2001, quietly at home. He was born October 22, 1928 in Fairfield Co., the son of the late Pearl and Helen Abbott. Graduate Amanda High School. Veteran Korean War, U.S. Navy. Graduate, The Ohio State University with a BS degree in Agriculture Science majoring in Horticulture. Long-time member of The Ohio State University President's Club. Bill served on the Board of Directors for Pennsylvania State Flower Growers, and is a past president of the Columbus Allied Florist Association, he also served on committees of the Ohio Flower Growers Association. Formerly the owner and CEO of Brookview Floral, Inc. Bill has been associated with real estate for over 30 years in contracting, rehabilitating, renting and sales. Bill had recently retired as an associate of King Thompson Realty, where he was employed for more than 10 years. Survived by wife of 49 years, June Snider Abbott; son, Mark W. Abbott; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Kevin B. Nixon; grandchildren, Breanne and Ryan; sisters, Roberta (Robert) Hansley of Amanda, Oh. and Ruby (Robert) Claypool of Lancaster, Oh.; aunt, Dorothy Abbott of Columbus; sister-in-law, Marvene Abbott of Amanda, Oh.; numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, and countless friends and co-workers throughout Ohio and the country. Preceded in death by brother Trenton Abbott and uncle Neil Abbott. Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. BARNES Truler H. "Trudy" Barnes, 74, of Avon Lake, Oh. and formerly of Columbus died Friday, February 16, 2001. She was a member of the Indianola Presbyterian Church in Columbus where she formerly served as a deacon. She was also a former troop leader and neighborhood chairperson of the Seal of Ohio Girl Scout Council. Survivors include her daughters, Linda Glover of Grafton, Oh. and Sharon Kurtz of Santa Paula, Calif.; 2 grandchildren; 1 sister; 2 brothers. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold in 1982 and two sisters and 3 brothers. Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Indianola Presbyterian Church, 1970 Waldeck Ave., Columbus. The Reverend Dr. Sidney Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Oh. Memorial contributions can be made to the Seal of Ohio Girl Scout Council, 1700 Watermark Dr., Columbus, Oh. 43217. BEAVERS Aldon "Al" Beavers, age 72, Saturday, Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Retired carpenter Local #200. Member AmVets and Al Beaver's Belshuer Mountain Blue Grass Band. Veteran World War II and Korean Conflict, U.S. Army. Loved blue grass music. Survived by loving wife, Elsie; daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Tom Sandera of Columbus, Rhonda and Jim Gerhart of Delaware; 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson; sister, Julie Stevenson; brothers, Phil, Elbert, Charlie, and Michael Beavers, all of Virginia. Preceded in death by son Bruce Aldon Beavers; brothers Theodore and Lloyd Beavers. Friends may call Sunday and Monday 6-8 p.m., EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. BECKER Karl W. Becker, born July 9, 1914 in Columbus, Neb., passed away February 12, 2001 in Columbus, Oh. Graduated from high school in Columbus, Neb. Graduate of Antioch College and The Ohio State University School of Dentistry. Completed internship from The Ohio State University School of Dentistry. Was a Captain in the 10th Photo Reconnaissance Group, United States Army Air Corps, as a Dentist in WW II. Partner in dental practice with William Russell for many years. He practiced dentistry in an exempiary manner in Columbus, Oh. for over 50 years until his retirement in 1995; improving the lives of everyone he knew. He was a man who believed in innovation and skill; approaching every task with the need for perfection. The quality of his technical ability in dentistry was matched only by his caring for the lives of his patients. Long time resident of Upper Arlington and a 40 year plus member of First Community Church he was a caring collector of people, not by design but by his actions. Well remembered for the years he enjoyed as troop leader for Boy Scout Troop 12, a position he held for many years even after his own sons had moved on to other activities. He was a loving husband and father, and dedicated man of his community. Active at Hide-A-Way Hills for 35 years with a cottage where he found much peace and serenity (and one year winning the golf championship). It was where his love of nature will forever be remembered by those who will enjoy the thousands of daffodils and hundreds of dogwood trees he planted over the years. Preceded in death by his bride of 64 years Evelyn M. Becker, by only 26 days and his brother Frank. Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Michael (Sherry) Becker, Steven (Lisa) Becker; and his grandchildren, Jason E. Becker, Shannon Gray Becker Mink (Christopher) and Jennifer Caroline Becker of Knoxville, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Boy Scouts of America or to First Community Church Foundation in the name of Karl W. and Evelyn G. Becker. BLACKSHEAR LaMonica Reene Blackshear, age 20, unexpectedly. A graduate of West High School 1998 and Bradford University 1999. a former employee of Family Practice West and was currently employed as a Medical Assistant for OSU Stoneridge. A faithful worshiper of Agape Family Worship Center. Survived by son, Tyree Stewart; mother, Diana Roddy; father, Kevin Braxton; sister, LaNora Williams; brother, Troy Williams; grandparents, Ernest and Barbara Blackshear; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral 7 p.m. Monday at the Agape Family Worship Center, 385 Miller, Pastor Gregory Tolliver, Officiant. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of service. BRENNER Thomas L. Brenner, 78, Sunbury, Friday, February 16, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born on March 11, 1922 to the late David W. and Estella (Johnston) Brenner. Graduate of Sunbury High School Class of 1941, US Navy veteran of WWII. Lifelong farmer, worked 51 years as a machinist for Columbus Showcase Company, member, former trustee of Condit Presbyterian Church, former member of Trenton Twp. Zoning Board, advisor for the Condit Livestock 4-H club. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary "Lib" Jennings; sons, Jerry T. (Cheryle), Marysville, Wash., Dan (Cheryl), Centerburg; daughter, Malinda S. (Don) Hood, Westerville; 8 grandchildren and spouses, Pyper (Scott) Wenfeldt, J.T. (Kendra), Evan, Abby, Nathan, Miles Hood, Megan, Drew Brenner; 2 great-grandchildren, Dakota and Aysia Brenner; brothers, Herb (Zieta), Sunbury, Charles "Chuck" and Bill (Shirley), Worthington; sister, Dorothy (Dan) Shockey, McArthur; sister-in-law, Lola Searles; brother-in-law, Dr. Ray (Helen) Jennings. Memorial service will be held Tuesday 2 p.m. at Condit Presbyterian Church, 15102 Hartford Rd., Sunbury, Reverend Carol Weiss officiating. BRILL Russell Albert Walker Brill, age 73, of Columbus, died Thursday February 15, 2001. Preceded in death by mother Gertrude Graham, first wife Patty J. Brill and niece Susan C. Brill. He is survived by wife, Dorothy D. "Dottie"; brother and sister-in-law, Charles L. and Carole A. Brill; sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond R. "Rusty" and Theresa M. Brill, Kenneth and Sharry Cook; grandchildren, Jennifer L. Brill, Aaron R. Brill, David K. Cook, Amanda B. Cook; nephews and nieces, Charles P. Brill, Patricia A. (Brill) Shaw, Charlene A. (Brill) Krible, Tina L. (Brill) Tackett, Carole A. (Brill) Hale; several other nieces and nephews. He worked 24 years at McGlennon Metal Products, 17 years at Central Ohio Welding and 2 years at Scotland Yard Condo Association. He served with Regular Army-ETO, 1945-1952, U.S. Constabulary, "The Elite Force of the U.S. Army", U.S. Zone Germany, 1st BN Tank Co., 6th Armed Calvary 1st Sgt., 37th MP Co., 37th Infantry Division 1st Sgt., Ohio National Guard. Member American Legion Post 888 and attended the First Baptist Church, Gahanna. His family will receive friends Sunday 5-8 p.m., during which time his casket will be open, at the COTNER FUNERAL HOME, 7369 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg, where his service will be Monday at 11 a.m. with his casket closed. Pastor Tom Dove officiating. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
