PHLEGER Janet "Jan" Phleger, 56, of London, left this earth to be with her Lord at 12 a.m. Sunday, February 18, 2001 in her residence. Born December 13, 1944 in Zanesville, she was a daughter of Myrl and Olive (Pickenpaugh) Paisley. She was formerly employed as a computer operator for the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. and Ameritech. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of London where she served on several church committees and was a member of the Special Christian Action Sunday School Class. She was a 4-H leader for the Clover Creations Club for 10 years and was a Red Coat for The Ohio State University. A member of the GCCVB, she worked in human services much of her life. She was a former member of the Morris Grange in Knox County. She was also a former member of the Berlin Methodist Church and was a former secretary at Frederickstown High School. She is survived by the love of her life, her daughter, Jennifer Phleger; her mother-in-law, Vera Phleger of London; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by a son John Robert Phleger. Memorial Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2001 in the First United Methodist Church of London with Reverend Clarence Hensel officiating for a celebration of her life. A time of fellowship will immediately follow services in the fellowship hall of the church. Friends may make memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church of London or gifts may be sent in memory of Jan and in honor of Dr. Lynn Eaton to account #538970, OSU Office of Medical Development, attn: Karen Anslinger, 1375 Perry St., 5th fl., Columbus, OH 43201.

ROZELLE Mrs. Joyce J. Rozelle went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 15, 2001. Member of Friendship Baptist Church for over twenty years. Preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and two sons, Ronnie Watkins and Van Rickie Rozelle. She leaves to mourn her, husband, Eubanks "Stumpy" Rozelle; son, Reggie (Mary Lou) Rozelle; daughters, Marion Bowers and Roberta Rozelle; four sisters, Winfred Beard, Patricia (Bennie) Hill, Linda (Samuel) Freeman and Cheryl Nichols; one brother, Gilbert (Charlene) Jones; two sisters-in-law, Annie Ruth Akin and Eunice Harrington; one brother-in-law, Harold Rozelle; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; very close friend, Mary Simmons and many other family and friends. Service of memory Tuesday 12 noon, Friendship Baptist Church 1775 W. Broad St., Reverend G. Thomas Turner, officiating. Mrs. Rozelle will lie in state Tuesday after 10 a.m. in the church, where the family will receive friends 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estates. SHOEMAKER Betty L. Shoemaker, age 76, Saturday, O.S.U. East Hospital. Retired Capital University Law Library. Member Trinity Episcopal Church and Community Chapter #488 O.E.S. Survived by sister, Rosemary McMillin; nephew, Glenn (Janet) McMillin and children, Clint, Katelyn, Patricia and John, all of Indiana; niece, Cheryl (Randy) Miller and son, Ryan, all of California. STEVENS Rosa H. Stevens, age 62, of Blacklick, died Sunday, February 18, 2001 at her residence. Member of Stygler Rd. CCCU. Survived by husband, Jennings H. Stevens; children, Tony Stevens, Lori Koester, John (Bette) Stevens, Delilah (Robert) Herbert; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brother, William Pariscoff; sisters, Irene Snyder and Jeanette Emert; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (on US Route 62, 1/2 mile northeast of Hamilton Rd.), Gahanna where funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening. Dr. Robert Sayre officiating. Private family interment.

VanMETER (CLARK) Betty L. (Clark) VanMeter, age 77, Saturday, February 20, 2001, Riverside Methodist Hospital. Retired employee O.S.U. Alumni House. Resident of Melbourne Village. Preceded in death by husband William. Survived by children Evelyn Morris, Mt. Sterling, Carolyn "Susie" (David) Matteson, Wellston, Beverly Garwick, Columbus, Richard (April) Clark, Columbus; David (Cindy) VanMeter, Somerset; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; brother, George (Maxine) Clark; many nieces and nephews and many friends. VanORDER Audrey L. (Van Gundy) VanOrder. Born November 30, 1917. Passed into the hands of our Lord at Mt. Carmel East Hospital Saturday, February 17, 2001 after a brief illness. Retired 1974 Personnel Secretary Jeffrey Manufacturing Company. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Paul H. VanOrder Sr.; loving children, Janice (Clarence) Readout, Grove City, James F. (Gayle) VanOrder, Johnstown, Donald P. (Marie) VanOrder Sr., Westerville, Paul H. (Donna) VanOrder Jr., Hilliard; loving grandmother of: Stephanie, Scott, Beth, Amy, Don Jr., Allison, Danielle, Justin, Jeremy; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Evans, Canal Winchester; brother, Don (Joanna) Van Gundy, Columbus; nieces, Jeanne Evans, Kathy (Ted) Poth; 3 great nieces, Amy, Katy, Jody. Preceded in death by parents Raleigh and Ethel Search Van Gundy. WARGA Jon E. Warga, 31, of Collegeville, Penn., formerly of Pataskala, Oh., died Friday, February 16, 2001 at Mercy Suburban Hospital, East Norristown, Penn. Memorial Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Agatha Catholic Church, 1860 Northam Road, Columbus, with Msr. Funk officiating. Mr. Warga was born April 7, 1969 in Columbus, Oh. He was employed by VerticalNet, Inc. as Senior Director of Corporate Development. Graduate of Capital Law School 1994, Wittenberg University 1991, and Northridge High School 1987. Survived by his wife, Megan Warga of Collegeville, Penn.; daughter, Brooke; parents, Peter and Pamela McCloud Warga of Pataskala; grandfather, Raymond Barber of Pataskala; aunts and uncles, Charles and Jean McCloud of Pataskala and V. Marie Zangmeister of Newark; cousins, other relatives and many friends. The family will receive friends 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at WARREN F. KAUBER FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala. In lieu of flowers donations will be accepted for future scholarships and trusts for Northridge High School and Wittenberg University.

ANDERSON Ralph E. Anderson, Sr., 68, of Circleville, died February 18, 2001 in Mt. Carmel East. He was born November 8, 1932 in Circleville, the son of Raymond B. and Pansy E. (Fausnaugh) Anderson. He was a retired chief grain inspector and former owner of Columbus Grain Inspection, Inc. Member of Adelphi Masonic Lodge #527, 32nd degree Mason and Valley of Columbus Scottish Rites. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Michael R. Porter and brothers Kenneth and David Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Sally (Andersen) Anderson; daughters, Vicky (Michael) Martin of Circleville, Terry Shelley of Myrtle Beach, Sherree (Stephen) Boyden of Amanda and Kristina (Tom) Porter of Circleville; sons, Ralph E. (Lisa) Anderson, Jr. and David Anderson, both of Myrtle Beach and Ray R. (Jackie) Anderson of Circleville; 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Marjory) Anderson of Circleville; sisters, Virginia (Arnold) Toole and Marima June Melvin, all of Circleville. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the WELLMAN FUNERAL HOME, Circleville. Burial will be in Springlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday. Masonic service will be held 8 p.m. Wednesday. BENEDETTO Mary A. (Gill) Benedetto, age 82, passed away Saturday, February 17, at Sunrise Assisted Living, Worthington, OH. Member of St. Matthias Catholic Church. She was retired from Fisher Body with 30 years service and a Member of UAW No. 969, and Fire and Police Association for Widows. Preceded in death by husband Captain Nick Benedetto of the Columbus Fire Department, parents Nick and Carmela Gill and sister Carolyn Melfi. Survived by sister, Thomasine Catena, Chicago, IL.; brother, Vincent (Helen) Gill, Easley, SC; and sister, Anita (Chet) Croce, Columbus, OH.; many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the JOHN QUINT & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Our Mother of Sorrow Chapel, 6440 South High Street. BLEVINS Willard F. Blevins, age 35, of Galloway, died Sunday, February 18, 2001. Arrangements are being completed by RUTHERFORD-SHROYER FRANKLINTON CHAPEL, 1278 W. Broad St., 274-1161.

BURNS Martin G. Burns, age 76, of Milford Center, Oh., died Sunday evening. A farmer and retired District Representative for AAL in Franklin, Union and Madison counties. Calling hours will be Wednesday 1-3 and 7-9 p.m. at the INGRAM FUNERAL HOME, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville. Service will be Thursday 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Milford Center with the Rev. Gerald Matzke officiating with burial following in the church cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Building Fund or the Central Ohio Parkinson Association in care of the funeral home.

CAPUANA Teresa Marie Capuana, 42, of Grove City, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2001 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. She was a graduate of Franklin Heights High School and was formerly employed by Angel Computer Service Inc. Preceded in death by her father Albert F. Capuana. Surviving are her mother, Lolita A. Capuana of Grove City; children, Tara Blount of Columbus and Chad Blount of Grove City; brother, Dean (Barbara) Capuana of Grove City; sisters, Norma (Frank) Czarnecki of Schaumburg, IL and Kandy (Stan) Johnson of Columbus; several nephews and one niece. Calling hours 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the SCHOEDINGER NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, where the funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2001 with Rev. Charles England officiating. Interment to follow at Galloway Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Teresa's memory.

CARTWRIGHT Clanthe (Billie) Cartwright celebrated her arrival in heaven on her birthday Sunday, February 18, 2001. She was born in Cheshire, Oh. on February 18, 1922. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband William H. Cartwright in 1981 and her beloved daughter Donna Jean Cartwright Jackson in 1973. Billie is survived by 3 sisters, Elizabeth Creech of Piketon, Oh., Leola Mitchell of Columbus, Oh. and Viola Deible of Columbus, Oh.; 2 brothers, James Reeves of Columbus, Oh., Walter Reeves, Jr. of Columbus, Oh.; 2 sons, Donald R. Cartwright of Waterflow, New Mexico, James W. Cartwright of Sarasota, Florida; 1 daughter, Sharon Treadway of Anthony, Florida. Her grandchildren are Gregory Treadway, Shawn Treadway, Glen Treadway, Brian Cartwright, Brett Cartwright, Brad Cartwright, Larissa Cartwright, Rodney Cartwright, Melissa Cartwright, Kevin Jackson, Tracy Jackson, Sheri Maple, Misti Phelps, David Park and Troy Jackson. She has 32 great-grandchildren and a host of precious friends. Billie was an active member of Brown Rd. Community Church in Columbus, Ohio and of Rushville Church of Christ in Christian Union in Rushville, Oh. She was a member of the board of Many Waters Mission to the American Indians in New Mexico. Arrangements are being handled by SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, where the viewing will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service Thursday at 2 p.m. at Brown Rd. Community Church, 1187 Brown Rd., Columbus, new building, with Rev. Thomas Barker, officiating. Interment at Obetz Cemetery. Her greatest prayer is that her loved ones come to know Jesus and see her in heaven.

COPELAND Charles M. Copeland, age 73, of Upper Arlington, formerly of Worthington, passed away February 17, 2001. Charles was born in Cadiz, OH and graduated from Kiski School. He later graduated from The Ohio State University where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from FMC Corporation in 1987 after many years. He played coronet for a local band and was a member of Riverview Country Club. Charles' wife of 50 years, Dorothy, passed away last August after a lengthy illness. He is survived by sons, Steve (Cindy) Copeland of Upper Arlington, OH, Mike (Kathy) Copeland of Merced, CA. and Frank (Gail) Copeland of Orchard Lake, MI; grandchildren, Jessica and Matthew of Upper Arlington, Christy and Ali of Merced, CA. and Adam and Lisa of Orchard Lake, MI. A graveside memorial service will be held at Union Cemetery Wednesday February 21, 2001 at 12noon, where the family will receive friends prior from 11 a.m.-12 noon in the Union Cemetery Chapel. Pastor Steve Wachtman officiating. Friends, if they wish, may make a contribution to a charity of choice in Charles' memory. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd.

COTTRELL Mark R. Cottrell, age 45, of Grove City, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2001 at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Mark was a loving husband, devoted father and cherished brother. Preceded in death by parents Charles A. Cottrell and T. Jean (Williams) Cottrell-Weaver. Survived by wife, Carolyn (Rudell); sons, William, Thomas and Mark P. Cottrell; sisters, Becky (Joe) Merth, Lori Fullen and Tracey (Mark) Rhea; brother, Charles Cottrell; and many nieces and nephews.
