Born September 29, 1915 in South Salem, Oh., the daughter of Nina B. (Moon) Miller. Preceded in death by mother and 1 brother Emery Claude Moon. Survived by several cousins; many friends and former students. Member of South Salem Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Buckskin High School in 1933 and later from Ohio University. She also taught at Buckskin Schools for 9 years and Columbus Public Schools for 31 years. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Thursday at MURRAY-FETTRO FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield, where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2001 with Rev. John Quist officiating. Burial South Salem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Riverside and Grant (Kobacker House), 3595 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, Oh. 43214.

ERK Gladys M. (Weber) Erk, age 97, born August 30, 1903 and passed from this world on February 17, 2001. She had resided with her daughter in Sarasota, Fla. since 1993. Preceded in death by husband Kennard R. Erk. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Eloise and Jerry Coburn of Sarasota, Fla.; 3 grandchildren, Chris Waller and her husband, Robert of Atlanta, Ga., Donald Coburn and his, wife, Patti, of Sarasota, Fla, and Chip Coburn and his wife, Tiffany, of Orlando, Fla; 3 great-grandchildren, Bradley and Emily Waller of Atlanta, Ga., and Kristi Jo Coburn of Sarasota, Fla.; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and church family. Gladys was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, New Rome, and a current member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Sarasota, Fla. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 55 Pasadena Ave. Pastor Ray Rosenthal officiating. Interment Alton Cemetery. There will be a memorial service at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Sarasota, Fl, on Feb. 28th, 2001 at 7:30 p.m.

FAIL Virginia P. Fail, age 70, of Grove City, died Monday February 19, 200l in Doctor's Hospital Hospital West. She formerly attended the First Baptist Church in Grove City, was a member and Past President of the PTA in the Southwest City Schools, and was a former volunteer in the closing room, received the Volunteer of the year award at Monterey Care Center for sewing lap robes and made beaded and sequined calendars. She is survived by husband, Earl; children, Cynthia (Rex) Crossley, Clifton Fail, Jeffrey (Dawn) Fail; grandchildren, Michelle (Pat) Ropp, Steven Earl Fail, Myranda Leigh Fail; step-grandchildren, Rex Jr. and Scott Crossley, Tonya Owens; great-granddaughter, Emma Louise Ropp; step-great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kevin and Trenton; sisters-in-law, Betty (Gene) Long and Patricia Fail; brothers-in-law, Stewart (Patricia) Fail, Donald Fail; and many loved nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, where the service will be Friday 11 a.m. with Rev. David Berna officiating. GAMMON Evangelist Drema Darlene Gammon, age 46, went home to be with the Lord Monday, February 19, 2001 at Grant Medical Center. Member of Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies. Student at Trinity Lutheran Seminary School. Former Substance Abuse Counselor at Mary Haven. Preceded in death by brother Charlie Towns. Survived by mother, Mary Gites Towns; husband, Nathaniel Gammon; son, Nathaniel "Jay" Gammon II; daughters, Natalie A. Gammon, Danissea D. Gammon, Zsamieka N.L. Gammon, Whitney G. Gammon; grandchild, Nyla Renee Holloway; brothers, Elder Cleveland Towns, Elder Curtis (Julia) Towns; sisters, Genell (Carl) Flemmings, Savannah, Ga., Jane Lewis, Katherine (Vincent) Coles, Paige, W.Va.; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Homegoing Celebration 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2001, Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, 870 St. Clair Ave. Bishop Sherman Watkins officiating. Entombment Green Lawn Cemetery. GERBS Sheryl P. Gerbs, age 39, of Columbus. Survived by father, Alfred of Columbus; brother, Jack (Barbara) Gerbs of Dayton. She was a member of Congregation Tifereth Israel and did volunteer work with hospice. Funeral service Wednesday 2 p.m. at THE EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3232 E. Main St. with Rabbi Harold Berman and Cantor Jack Chomsky officiating. Burial will follow at the New Tifereth Israel Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the American Heart Association or the Tifereth Israel Library Fund. Shiva will be held at the Alfred Gerbs residence.

GLANDON Kathryn Louise Glandon, 86, of So. Bloomfield, passed away Monday, February 19, 2001 at her residence. Born June 27, 1914 in Pickaway Co. to the late John and Fanny Tustin Lambert. She was a member of the So. Bloomfield UMC. Preceded in death by her parents and husband Orville. Survived by son, Donald; daughter, Wilma (Stewart) Davis, all of So. Bloomfield; brother, David (Pauline) Lambert, Columbus; sisters, Lucille Bremer, Ashville, Helen Follrod, So. Bloomfield and Nellie Gatton, Columbus; special nephews, Marion (Elsie) Cramblit and Wayne (Linda) Everts. Service will be Friday February 23, 2001, 2 p.m. at the So. Bloomfield UMC with Rev. Jack Witherspoon officiating. Burial at Harrison Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, February 21, 2001 from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday February 22, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the OLIVER FUNERAL HOME, Ashville and 1 hour prior to service at the church.

GUYER Richard A. Guyer, of 2642 Howell Dr., Bloomsburg, Pa., died Monday, February 19, 2001 at the Berwick Hospital Emergency Room. Born November 3, 1952 in Columbus, Oh., the son of Anna Boehm Guyre of Columbus and the late Pete Rudolph Guyer. V.P. for Deluxe Homes, Berwick. He graduated from high school in Columbus, Oh. Last 11 years at present address. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, the former Yvonne Ackerman, they were married November 5, 1977; son, Ryan A. Guyer at home; 2 daughters, Yvette Guyer of Shenandoah, Pa. and Amanda Guyer of Frackville, Pa.; 2 grandsons; 3 sisters, Mrs. Dan (Kathy) Harden and Mary Jo Fowler, both of Columbus, Oh. and Sally Laudenburg of Frisco, Tex. Service will be Friday 2 p.m. at RODGER T. BURNNELL FUNERAL HOME, Bloomsburg, Pa. Burial New Rosemont Cemetery. Memorial Service Saturday 2:30 p.m. at St. Agnes Church, 2364 W. Mound St., Columbus, Oh. with Fr. Mario Serriaglio, officiating.

HINGST William Howard Hingst, age 91, passed away Sunday at his daughter's home. Retired Bookkeeping Supervisor, Public Employees Retirement. Former member Christ Lutheran Church. Former musician having played in several area bands. Survived by daughter, Joyce Lehman of Pickerington; grandsons, Dean (Donita) Lehman of Pickerington and Kent (Joy) Lehman of Canal Winchester; 5 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife Estelle Mae Hingst and brother Elber Hingst. Funeral service Wednesday 12noon, EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. Livingston Ave., where friends may call 1 hour prior to service. HUEBNER David A. Huebner, of West Jefferson, died February 17, 2001 in his residence. He was born June 5, 1956. He is survived by 2 daughters, Natalie Ruth and Emily Ann Huebner; a special friend, Ann Fisher; step-father, Bernard V. Gaffney. Memorial Service will be conducted 7:30 p.m. Friday in the New Life United Methodist Church, 25 West 5th St., Columbus with Chris Ciampa officiating. MALTOS Ricardo Maltos, age 62, of Westerville, passed away February 17, 2001 at St. Ann's Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents Luis and Ora Maltos, infant brother Andres and sister Lucy Hernandez. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen; daughters, Delane Maltos of Canton, Ga., Elyssa Dalton of Fla.; son, Jonathan David Maltos and wife, Noreen; sisters, Dolores (Ralph) Reyna, Janie (Robert) Huizar of San Antonio, Tex.; brothers, Louis (Audrey) Maltos of Shawnee, Okla. and Edward Maltos of Savannah, Ga. Also survived by sister-in-law, Mary and brother-in-law, Dale Shade of Grove City; dear friends, Tony and Sandy Capoccio, Joe and Jeri Capoccio and their families; also 3 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Ricardo is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a graduate of The Ohio State University and retired from Newark Air Force Base. MATHESON Roderick Joseph Matheson, of Gahanna, died on his 91st birthday, Sunday February 18, 2001 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Worked 34 years for Superior Electric Company. Member of I.B.E.W. Local 683 for 60 years. Attended Covenant Evangelical Church, Gahanna. Former member of Gahanna Roaring Lions Race Team. Participated in Senior Olympics for the past 5 years. Was also a member of the Winchester Speedway Old Timers' Club. Preceded in death by wife Carolyn Matheson, son Louie Matheson, grandson Victor Matheson, brother Edwin Matheson, sister Mary Nagy. Survived by sons, Rod L. (Alice) Matheson of Columbus, Ed Matheson of Alexandria, Jerry (Jill) Matheson of Monroe, MI; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.
