HEIL Chris Thomas Heil, 61, of Bridgeport, Ohio, died Saturday, February 24, 2001 at Wheeling Hospital. He was born October 20, 1939 at Wheeling, the son of the late Lawrence C. and Ruth Thomas Heil. He was an attorney and certified public accountant. Chris was a member of the Church of Christ, Wheeling., Bridgeport Lodge #181 F.&A.M., 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Steubenville and the Osiris Temple of Wheeling. His other memberships include Bridgeport Eagles Aeries #995, the Ohio Valley Promonaders and he was a volunteer at Wheeling Hospital. He is survived by one son, Stephen G. and his wife, Sheila W. Heil and their daughter, Hannah Heil of Columbus; a daughter, Christine L. Heil of Columbus; two brothers, Lew T. Heil of Columbus and Bruce A. and his wife, Dorothy "Pud" Heil of Wheeling, WVa.; a sister, D. Joyce Yazombek of Naples, Fla. Chris will also be remembered by a number of special and devoted friends. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the WILSON FUNERAL HOME, 920 National Road, Brookside, Oh., where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Mr. Ron Stullenbarger. Interment in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville, Oh. Bridgeport Lodge #181 F.&A.M. will conduct services Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

HINES Warner L. Hines, infant son of Warren and Lajaiah (Miles) Hines, passed February 22, 2001 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St.Louis, Mo. Survived by maternal grandparents, James and Elizabeth Miles of Shipman, Va.; paternal grandparents, Cecelia (Curtis) Eldridge of Columbus, Oh., Willie (Eddie) Hines of Columbus, Oh.; maternal great-grandparents, Doris Harris of Shipman, Va. and Early Miles of Memphis, Tenn.; paternal great-grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Willie Hines of Columbus, Oh.; brother, Austy Lemar Hines; sister, Warren Aniah Hines. Memorial service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to WOLFERSBERGER FUNERAL HOME, O'Fallon, Ill.

Jackson Mary Grace Jackson, age 8 years, died Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at Children's Hospital. She is preceded in death by grandfathers Richard Jackson and LeRoy Huelsman. Survived by her loving parents, Mark and Gay; sister, Hailey; brother, Dane, all of Columbus; grandparents, Anita Jackson of Columbus and Wilma (Vernon) Nabor of Minster, Oh.; aunts, uncles and many cousins. Member of St. Peter's Church, 6899 Smoky Row Rd., Columbus, Oh., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2001. Family will receive friends Monday 7-9 p.m. at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington, Oh. Burial Union Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Children's Hospital in memory of Mary Grace.

JOHNS Glenn David Johns, age 62, of Groveport, Friday, February 23, 2001 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. Attended Groveport 1st Baptist Church. Survived by wife, Roberta; daughter, Kathy (Scott) Chase, Reynoldsburg; sons, Kenneth A. Johns, Groveport, Keith D. (Lisa) Johns, Pickerington; 7 grandchildren. Friends may call at the MYERS FUNRAL HOME GROVEPORT Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and then at the Groveport 1st Baptist Church one hour prior to services Tuesday 11 a.m. Pastor John Hays officiating. KECKSTEIN Augusta M. Keckstein, 103, of Bucyrus, Oh., died Friday, February 23, 2001 in Bucyrus. Mother of Paul and Marge Keckstein of Columbus; 6 grandchildren; 8 great - grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. Calling hours Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at the MUNZ-PIRNSTILL FUNERAL HOME, Bucyrus. Funeral Mass Monday, February 26, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

LACEY Kenneth Lacey, age 21, February 21, 2001, unexpectedly at Grant Medical Center. Employee of Bureau of Workers' Compensation, William Green Building, Guard. Attended Columbus East High School where he was a member of the marching band. Worshipped at St. Paul A.M.E. Church. Preceded in death by great-grandparents John and Sadie Cundiff and grandparents Samuel and Mammie Williams. Survived by parents, Joseph C. Williams, Beverly Lacey; grandmother, Eleanor Reed; uncles, Elijah Masathi, Samuel (Peggy) Williams, Claude (Brenda) Peak; aunts, Angela (Rodney) Van Cleaf, Sammetta Williams, Elizabeth (Dan) Barwick, Marilyn Williams, Ernestine Darity, Annie Mae Stokes; and many other cousins, relatives and friends. Friends may call at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 639 E. Long St., Monday, February 26, 2001 after 11 a.m., where family will receive friends from 12noon until time of service at 1 p.m. Rev. W.T.C. LAKE John R. "Jack" Lake, Sr., 88 of Williamsport, died Friday, February 23, 2001 in Brown Memorial. Born May 25, 1922 in Circleville the son of the late Thomas W. and Theresa F. (Schlinkert) Lake. Jack was a lifetime member of St. Josephs Catholic Church, a charter member of the Father John S. Hannan Council #5297, Knights of Columbus and Past Faithful Navigator of the St. John F. Neuman Assembly #1761, 4th degree, Knights of Columbus. He was a veteran of WWII, member of the American Legion, VFW, Soldiers Monumental Society and Charter member of the NFO of Pickaway County. He was retired after 27 years from E.I.Dupont, was active with the Dupont Retirees and was a volunteer for the Pickaway County Childrens Services. He is survived by children, Rosalie Moore of Culpeper, Virginia, John (Shirley) Lake Jr., Karen (Scott) McFarland and Peg (Robert) Burton, all of Circleville and Betsy (Terry) Hupp of Kingston; 23 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; aunt, Claire Weinert of Hampton, Va. and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Josephs Catholic Church with Father Stephen Krile celebrant. Burial will follow with military honors by the American Legion in St. Josephs Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the MADER-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, Circleville. MESSMORE Glenn Messmore, age 70, passed away Friday, February 23, 2001 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Retired after 44 years of service with Buckeye Steel Co. U.S. Navy Veteran of Korean War. Member of American Legion Post #144. Preceded in death by wife Phyllis. Survived by daughters, Jenny Paugh of Columbus and Joni Messmore of Chillicothe; sons, Brent (Lana) Messmore of Glenford, Oh. and Jeff (Amelia) Messmore of Carroll, Oh.; grandchildren, Shawn (Karen) Paugh, Brandy Paugh, James Glen Messmore, Melissa A. Messmore, Sarah A. Messmore, Michael Philip Messmore, William Daugherty, Daniel Brown and Amanda Brown; 7 great-grandchildren; friend and dear companion, Rita Sue Wheeler. Friends may call at O.R. MORGAN John "Jack" A. Morgan, age 75, entered into eternal life on February 23, 2001 after a very courageous battle with leukemia. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Life member of The American Legion. Formerly of Westerville, Ohio and a graduate of Westerville High School. Jack was a member of Lions International for 48 years, memberships included Jackson, Lancaster and Westerville Clubs. He was employed by Cussins & Fearn, Buckeye Mart for 25 years, Roger DeVille Construction Company, Altman Company and leasing for fiesta Hair Fashion and Christine's Styling Salons. He was an avid football fan (Ohio State & Notre Dame). The world is a better place because of his presence as he touched the lives of many. Born in Columbus, Ohio on November 8, 1925 to the late Wilbur A. and Helen (Allis) Morgan. He is preceded in death by brother Wilbur "Bill" Morgan. Survived by loving wife of 31 years, Doris; daughter and son-in-law, Cindi and Brian Bumgardner; granddaughter, Kassi; grandson, Ian of West Bloomfield, Michigan; step-daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Brian Sullivan; grandson, Brandon; granddaughter, Nicole of Gahanna; brother and sister-in-law, Robert "Bob" and Shirley Morgan of Joliet, Illinois; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Richard "Dick" Hitt of Westerville; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. McDADE Beulah (Herdman) McDade, 76, of Grove City, Ohio, died at her home Friday evening, February 23, 2001. She was a retired Custodial Supervisor for The State of Ohio at Worley Terrace and a Member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Grove City. She was the wife of the late John F. McDade Jr. She is survived by two sons, Stephen McDade of Columbus, Ohio and Stanley McDade of Leon, WVa.; two sisters, Eulah McClure of Columbus, Ohio and Pearl DeWeese of Leon, WVa.; one brother, Ephrum Herdman of Leon WVa.; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at the CROW-HUSSELL FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Jefferson Blvd,. Point Pleasant, WVa. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leon, WVa. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home Monday, February 26, 2001, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 p.m.

O'HARRA Hilda Margaret Eggert O'Harra, age 93, formerly of Columbus, passed away in the care of her daughter Donna (Harley) Fitch Friday, February 23, 2001 in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. A life member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Columbus. Hilda loved learning, music and rhyme. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Emma Hoppe Eggert; husband Paul Donovan; son Richard; sisters Elsie Grell and Alma Jenkins and son-in-law Robert Knapp. Surviving are her daughters, Anna (Robert) Harding and Margaret Knapp of Lake Wales, Fla.; son, Paul (Naomi) O'Harra of Galloway. Hilda will also be greatly missed by all her grandchildren and their extended families. Calling hours 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the SCHOEDINGER NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City. Funeral service 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2001, Trinity Lutheran Church, 404 S. 3rd St., Columbus. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

PALMER H. Howard Palmer, age 91, of Upper Arlington, passed away February 23, 2001 at Friendship Village of Dublin. He was a member of Northwest United Methodist Church, a retired lieutenant commander with the U.S. Navy and veteran of WW II. Howard was a school administrator for over 14 years with Maumee and Mark Center High Schools, serving as principal, superintendent, and coach for baseball, baseball and track. He was also a member of the Reserved Officers Association and Singing Buckeyes. Howard retired as owner and operator of HH Palmer Distributorship. He is preceded in death by his brothers Thaddeus and Ray Palmer and sisters Fay Cornelius, Dora Hopkins and Laura Chambers. Howard is survived by his wife of 69 years, Glenna G. (Gustin) Palmer; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Friends may call 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2001 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2001 at Northwest United Methodist Church, 5200 Riverside Dr., Columbus, Oh. 43220. Interment Kingwood Memorial Park. RODGERS Edna L. (Waring) Rodgers, age 77, of Columbus, died Friday, February 23, 2001 at Mt. Carmel East. Preceded in death by husband Robert Rodgers. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Rev. David (Carolyn) Waring of Reynoldsburg; grandchildren, Misty and Michael; brother, Woodrow Parsons of Memphis, Tenn. Charter Member of Steltzer Road Baptist Church. There will be no calling hours. Graveside services Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at 10 a.m. at Sunset Cemetery. ROOP Agnes Williamson Roop, age 88, formerly of Upper Arlington and Lancaster, died Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at Westminster-Thurber Healthcare Center, Columbus, Oh. She was born April 26, 1912 in Amanda, Oh., the daughter of the late Grant and Rosa (Smith) Williamson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Raymond M. Roop, Sr. in November, 1996. She is survived by her son, Ray Roop, Jr. and his wife, Arlene, of Scottsdale, AZ.; grandchildren, Michelle and Ryan Roop; brother, Fritz Williamson, Logan, OH; sister, Jeanette Miller, Columbus; many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Sunday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2001. Rev. David Griebner officiating.
