SAULS Dorothy L. Sauls, age 72, of Worthington, died Saturday, February 24, 2001 at the Arlington Court Nursing Home. She retired as a legal secretary for Arter and Hadden Attorneys after 38 years. Preceded in death by her parents John and Alma (Grambling) Lawhead; brother George Lawhead and brothers-in-law Earl Hall and James Clark. Her survivors include her children, Sharon (Louis) Gerber of Worthington, Harry (Deb) Sauls of Wilmington, NC and Jeff (Brenda) Sauls of Hilliard, Oh.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha Hall of Palm Bay, Fla. and Virginia Clark of Sunbury, Oh.; nieces and nephews. Funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High Street, Worthington. A private family interment will follow in Blendon Central Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 7-9 p.m. Family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to Hospice at Riverside/Grant, 3535 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio 43214-3998.

SCHUMACHER Harriet E. Schumacher, age 85, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2001 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. She was a member of Daughters of America-Pride of Columbus Council #207, Harmony Glee Club and she loved to bowl. She was preceded in death by her husband Adam, 4 brothers, 1 sister and an infant son. She is survived by her son, Edward (Mary) Schumacher, Thornville; daughters, Darlene (Clarence) Craig, Reynoldsburg, Shirley (Jerry) Bordner, Pickerington, Barbara (Bill) Offer, Shreveport, La., Sharon (Tim) Evans, Grove City; sisters, Pearl Veit, Calif. and Betty Goff, Columbus; sisters-in-law, Betty and Lucille Goff, Calif., Freida Schumacher, Columbus, Leona Schumacher, Pickerington; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. Her family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the COTNER FUNERAL HOME, 7369 East Main St., Reynoldsburg, where her service will be Monday at 11 a.m. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Her family would like to thank all the help in the care of Harriet Schumacher. Mt. Carmel East Hospital nurses, doctors and aides. Monica and Kristy for home care. Nancy for sitting with her once a week.

SEIMER James A. Seimer, 80, of Grove City, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2001 at Doctors West Hospital after having a stroke. He was born Dececember 19, 1920 in Stoutsville, Oh. to the late Omer F. and Edith M. Seimer. Jim was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran with the 759th Bombardment Squadron. He retired from Vory's Brothers Sales Dept. in 1987. He also worked at the Scioto Downs dining room as a maitred' for 20 years and enjoyed his weekends as a auctioneer. Jim was a 48 year member of Harrisburg United Methodist Church. He also held memberships in the American Legion Post #0164, Harrisburg VFW Post #11208, Harrisburg K of P, Sherman Lodge #470, Grove City Lions Club and Grove City Elks Lodge #37. He helped to organize and coach little league in Harrisburg in 1960. Jim was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor L. (Dechert) Seimer; sons, J. Michael (Sherry) Seimer DVM, and William E. (Chris) Seimer; grandchildren, Kimberly, Katherine, Todd and Kasey Seimer; sisters, Jean Bach, Washington Courthouse, Irene Wilson, Circleville, Mary Anderson, Grove City; and brothers, Richard (Ruth) Seimer, Circleville, Frank Seimer, Circleville, George (Wanda) Seimer, Kingston; and many nieces, nephews and family friends. Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, where service will be held Tuesday 11 a.m. Rev. Phyllis Riggs officiating. SELZER John H. Selzer, age 84, of Canal Winchester, Wednesday, February 21, 2001, Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Retired Senior Tool Designer from North American/Rockwell in 1983. Member of Lithopolis United Methodist Church and the Orbiting Squares and Starlight Round Dance Group. WW II U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Gladys (Zwayer) Selzer; children, Sharon (Frank) Ventresca, Lithopolis, Richard (Marsha) Selzer, Columbus, Ron (Janelle) Selzer, Lancaster, Steve (Ronda) Selzer, Lithopolis, Greg (Patty) Selzer, Canal Winchester; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Friends may visit 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lithopolis United Methodist Church, 80 N. Market St., Lithopolis with the Rev. Clark Hess officiating. Interment Lithopolis Cemetery. SHEEDERS Robert E. Sheeders, 73, of Macomb, Mich., formerly of Corning and Columbus, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2001 at the VA Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va. Born May 9, 1926 in Briggsdale, Oh., the son of the late Robert Joseph and Clita Eileen (Graybill) Sheeders. He worked for Columbus & Southern Electric and later as a siding & window installer. He was a member of Corning American Legion Post 327, VFW and Moose Lodge. He is survived by his daughter, Dianne Sheeders, Detroit, Mich.; step-children, David Jenkins and Lora of Columbus; brother, Donn Sheeders of Calif.; sister-in-law, Mrs. Joan (Ernie) Brooks of Columbus; 3 grandchildren, Robert Sheeders, Andy Sheeders and Tim Ray, all of Detroit, Mich.; 4 great-grandchildren; special friends, Ruby Snowden, Junior Foster Watkins; and his dog, Buddy; many friends in Corning and Columbus area. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Sheeders and nephew Brad Freeman. Mr. Sheeders was cremated and services will be held at a later date. Arrangements in charge of the J.E. SUTCH Shirley E. Sutch, age 71, of Springfield, died Saturday, February 24, 2001 at 11:36 a.m. in Community Hospital, Springfield. Survivors include 4 children and their spouses, David and Penny Sutch, London, Oh., Dan Sutch and Robin Angel, Lexington, Ky., Sue and John Peck, Springfield, Oh., and Cindy Sutch, Columbus, Oh.; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Liz Adams, Satellite Beach, Fla.; 2 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Alfred D. and a sister. Friends may call in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME from 5-7 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Fr. Rick Walling officiating. Burial in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the National Alliance for Mental Illness.

TONKINSON-RUEF Anna Marie Tonkinson-Ruef, 90, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Springfield, died Friday, February 23, 2001 in Arlington Court Nursing Home, Columbus. She was born June 15, 1910 in Cedarvale, New Mexico, the daughter of Harry Weith and Cleah Dove (Drum) Tonkinson. She was retired from the Crowell Collier Publishing Company where she worked at two different times between the 1920's and 1950's. She lived in the Springfield area from the age of six months until she moved to Columbus four years ago and was a 60 year member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She is survived by two sons, Leland "Lee" Carroll and his wife, Mary Ruef of Columbia, South Carolina and Monsignor James L.T. Ruef, Pastor of Holy Name Parish, Columbus, Ohio; one aunt, one uncle, many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends in Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years William H. Ruef; two sisters Naomi (Mrs. Phillip) Geron and Elizabeth (Mrs. William) Crispin and one brother and sister-in-law Charles W. and Alice Tonkinson. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, Springfield, on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held in Trinity Lutheran Church, 1216 S. Belmont, Springfield, at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1216 S. TROGUS David Michael Trogus, age 50, Friday at his residence. TURNER Raymond Turner, age 92, of Columbus, died Thursday, February 22, at his daughters home in El Paso, Tex. Born in Portsmouth, Oh. Retired Tool Maker, Elder and Director, The Williams Road Church of Christ School of Preaching. Survived by daughters, Leora Burleson of El Paso, Tex., Joan Maine of Phoenix, Ariz., and Arlene Morlensen of Spokane, Wash. He was a frequent visitor to his sister, Mrs. George W. DeHoff and family of Murfreesboro, Tenn. He was the last of his 7 brothers. Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m., EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. TUTHILL Walter W. Tuthill, age 84, died Thursday, February 22, 2001 at O.S.U. Medical Center. Born in Lancaster, Oh. Army Air Force Veteran of WW II. Member of VFW Post 3424 and American Legion Post 144. Preceded in death by wife Mary. Survived by sons, Gregory (Brenda), Gary (Mary Lou), James (Kathy); brother, Ralph; sister, Chris Weatherall; sister-in-law, Beatrice Tuthill; grandchildren, Shawn, Beth and Andrew; several nephews, nieces and cousins. At Walter's request, there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held for the family and burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. WHARTON R. Joseph "Joe" Wharton, age 77, died Friday, February 23, 2001 peacefully at home with his family. Member of Columbia Height United Methodist Church for 41 years, where he was formerly a head usher. Member of York Lodge #563 F&A.M., Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Shrine Temple, Reception Unit and Past President of Hilltop Shrine. Veteran WWII, Army of 102nd Infantry Division "The Ozarks" where he was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery. Graduate of West High School, Antioch College and Purdue University. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary-Alice (Callahan); daughters, Diana Jo Good and Rodney, and Patricia Alice (Earl) Groves; son, Joseph Allan Wharton and Shelly; 7 grandchildren, April Anne (Chris) Frasure, Melissa Marie (Greg) Cox, Natalie Lynn Gest, Bryan Joseph Wharton, Jessica Marie Wharton, Alyson Irene Kesler, Jenna Nichole Littler; 1 great granddaughter, Taylor Christine Frasure; sisters, Delores Jones of New Carlisle, Oh. and Inez Speakman; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service Monday 11 a.m., Columbia Height United Methodist Church, 91 Sturbridge, Columbus, with Rev. A. Gail Sims officiating. WHEELER Raymond E. Wheeler, age 69, of Grove City, Oh., passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. He was retired from Westinghouse and currently worked for the Ohio Auto Auction. U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Ray was preceded in death by grandson Michael R. Wheeler, parents Orville and Cynthia Wheeler, brother Robert Wheeler, sister Roberta Meece. He is survived by his wife, Fannie; children, Linda (Jim) Worley, Brenda (Glenn) Sharp, Ric (Tammy), Vicki and Ralph Wheeler; grandchildren, Joshua, Melanie and Joseph Wheeler; sisters, Reva (Chester) Cantrell, Esther (Willis) Fyffe and Frances Wellman; brother, Lawrence (Betty) Wheeler; many nieces and nephews. WILBURN Mary E. Wilburn, age 68, of Sunbury died Friday, February 23, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Preceded in death by husband David Henry Wilburn; parents Warren and Edith (Dauer) Myers. She graduated Otterbein College, teacher at Hartford Elementary for 23 years, did volunteer work with Senior Citizens, worked with Friends Who Share. Survived by daughters, Rebecca Wilburn, Sunbury, Deborah (Don) Thomas, Columbus, Merilee (David) Bash, Columbus; 4 grandchildren, Donald Thomas. Marilynn Bash and Andrea Bash, all of Columbus, Christopher Wilburn, Sunbury; brother, Paul Myers, Bowling Green; 1 niece; 1 nephew; special friend, Eldon Frakes, Sunbury.
