DOWD Wanda Mary Dowd, age 76, passed away Sunday February 25, 2001 at home. A life-long resident of Columbus, she graduated from North High School, Class of 1942 and was a member of NHWAA. Wanda worked for the Federal Government for over 37 years retiring from the DCSC. She was preceded in death by her parents Vearn and Mary Dowd. She is survived by her sisters, Frances Dowd and Norma (William) Butterworth of Columbus and Verna (Russ) Street of Punta Gorda, Fla.; nieces, Nancy (Alva) Williams of Columbus and Peggy (Ron) Pinkerton of Canal Winchester. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2001 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington, Oh., 614-885-4006. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial service will be held for the family at Glen Rest Memorial Estates. If they choose, friends may make memorial contributions to Hospice at Riverside/Grant, 3535 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, Oh. 43214, in Wanda's memory.

DUFFEY Roger L. Duffey, age 45, of Groveport, Oh., died on Monday, February 26, 2001 at The Ohio State University Hospital-East. Preceded in death by his father Harry J. Duffey, Jr. Survived by his mother, Violet Duffey; brother and sister-in-law, Roy, Sr. and Debbie Duffey; nephew, Roy Duffey, Jr., U.S.M.C., MCB Quantico, Quantico, Va.; aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. Private family service. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in Roger's memory.

DeWITT John Edward DeWitt, age 72, Friday, February 23, 2001, at his residence in West Liberty, Oh. Born in Champaign County, Ohio, November 28, 1928, to Paul J. DeWitt and Marjorie Chatfield DeWitt. Graduate of Urbana High School in 1946, attended both the Urbana and Ohio State Universities, also particiapted in several activities within the county on a volunteer basis. Served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Vice-President and Division Manager, Accuray Corp., where he retired in 1987 after 33 years of service. Survived by wife, Reba (Bowman) DeWitt, whom he married in Durham, N.C. on June 1, 1957; sons, John E. (Victoria) DeWitt Jr., Portland, Oreg., David C. DeWitt, Roswell, Ga., Stephen J. DeWitt, Seattle, Wa.; daughter, Jennifer (David) Maeser, Mercer Island, Wa.; sisters, Mary Ann (Kay) Roush, Urbana, Diane (Larry) Cousins, Prairie Village, Ks., Sherry Chastain, Columbus; grandchildren, Kendra and Chase Maeser. Preceded in death by brother Philip E. DeWitt. Funeral service 4 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2001, KAUFFMAN-EICHHOLTZ FUNERAL HOME, West Liberty, where a reception of family and friends will be held immediately after service. Minister Ned A. FERGUSON Mary Catherine Ferguson, age 74, of Ft. Myers, Fla., formerly a longtime resident of Columbus, Oh., died February 24, 2001 at Hope Hospice after a short battle with cancer. Born August 20, 1926 in Steubenville, Oh. Member of St. Francis Xavier Church. Survived by loving husband, Earl of 52 years; children, Greg (Mary), Columbus, Oh., John (Cathy), Jacksonville, Fla., Michael (Mary), Gahanna, Oh., Robert, Richmond, Va. and Cathy (Jason), Reynoldsburg, Oh.; 4 grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held in Ft. Myers, Fla. Burial Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus, Oh. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Ft. Myers, Fla. 33908.

FETHEROLF Melvin Earl Fetherolf, 86, of Circleville, died Sunday, February 25, 2001 at his residence. Born July 21, 1914 in Hocking County, the son of the late Pearl and Bessie Reid Fetherolf. Mr. Fetherolf retired from the Riddles Lumber Co. and Circleville Hardwood Co. He was also a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Alma Louise (Davis) Fetherolf; daughters, Marlene (Jerry) Pritchard of Circleville, Barbara (Jim) Muldoon of Mexico Beach, Fla. and Melva Louise Speakman of Speedwell, Tenn.; step-sons, Charles McDowell of Cookville, Tenn. and Larry (Jeannine) McDowell of Circleville; grandchildren, Matthew Pritchard, Bill (Lori) Eaton, Danny (Donna) Speakman, Derrick (Susan) Speakman, Tamara Speakman, Kimberly (Don) Hanby, Terry (Angela) McDowell, Wade (Tana) McDowell and Holly McDowell; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Howard Fetherolf of Carroll, Rollie (Judy) Fetherolf of Hamden; sisters, Florence Miller of Amanda and Blanche Azbell of Port Richie, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother Dallas Fetherolf and sister Mildred Fetherolf. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the MADER-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, Circleville with Rev. David Cady officiating. Burial will follow in Green Summit Cemetery, Adelphi. Friends may call 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. GREEN Thomas David Green, M.D., age 40, of Columbus, died suddenly Monday at his home. Born January 17, 1961 in San Antonio, Tex. to David and Mildred (Tsivitse). 1979 graduate of Hayes High School where he was a member of the football and wrestling teams. Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Case Western Reserve and Ohio State University Medical School where he served internship and residency. Board certified pathologist for Fairfield County Hospital and guest lecturer at OSU Medical School. Survived by father, Dr. David C. Green; brother, Dr. Robert E. (Mitzi) Green; niece, Kristina and nephew, Kevan Green, all of Delaware. Preceded by mother Mildred, 1991. Visitation Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the ROBINSON FUNERAL HOME, Delaware. A private family service will be held with Father Kevin Kavanagh officiating. Burial Oak Grove Cemetery. Contributions to the Humane Society, 4920 State Rte. 37E, Delaware, OH 43015.

GURVIS Henry Gurvis, former Racing commissioner, who was well known in racing circles, resided in Bal Harbour, Fla., Granville, Oh. in Licking Co. and Columbus, Oh., succumbed to Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma after a 2 years battle with the disease. In earlier years he was appointed Small Business Chairman under Governor James Rhodes and was President and owner of Crown Dielectric Industries, with offices all over the World. He was an Industrialist and Real Estate Developer who built the first Motel called the Mid City and Clarmont in Columbus, Oh. and other throughout the state and nation. He was a man of many identities, but his greatest love was that his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Marjorie Patricia Gurvis; beloved son, Anthony Nicholas Gurvis and Holly Gurvis; and daughter, Susan and husband, Ronald Rudolph; grandchildren, Alexander Rudolph, Adam Rudolph and Cara Kochensparger Rudolph, Hailey and Chelsea Gurvis. He was a member of Temple Israel Brotherhood, the Licking County Humane Society, a life member of the Licking County Art Museum, the American Red Cross, and a life member of the Winding Hollow, Mound Builders and William's Island Country Clubs. Funeral service to be held Thursday 1 p.m. at Temple Israel, 5419 E. Broad St. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Shiva will be held at the Rudolph's residence. Memorials preferred to Temple Israel or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by THE EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL.

HEATON Robert A. Heaton, age 93, February 23, 2001 at Grant Medical Center. Member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Retired T.V. Technician. Preceded in death by wife Helen O. Heaton. Survived by daughter, Doris Green of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandson, Paul Voce of Chicago, Ill.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Thursday March 1, 2001, 1 p.m. at the SHAW-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME VICTORIAN VILLAGE CHAPEL, 34 West Second Ave., where friends may call 1 hour prior to the funeral service. HIGHTOWER Elmer R. Hightower, age 90, formerly of Columbus, died February 24, 2001, Mercy Hospital, Fairfield, Ohio. Retired from Arjay Construction. Member of Bellows Avenue Church of the Nazarene. Survived by daughter, Sandra Griffin of Cincinnati, with whom he made his home; granddaughters, Ellen Smith and Cindy (Tom) Walsh; great-grandson, Brian Smith. HUTCHINSON (HOFFMANN) Florence M. "Flossie" Hutchinson, age 81, peacefully Sunday, February 25, 2001 at Grant Medical Center. Retired from Grange Mutual Casualty Co. Member of St. Mary Church (German Village). Preceded in death by parents John and Grace Hoffmann and brothers John and Paul Hoffmann. Survived by sons, Michael Hutchinson of Calif., Timothy Hutchinson; sister, Donna (Douglas) Gossman; many nieces and nephews; special grandnieces and nephews, Elizabeth, Julie, Theresa, Greg, Angie and Paul; sisters-in-law, Katherine and Marge Hoffmann. Air Force Veteran of WW II. Survived by wife, Opal; 1 son; 2 daughters; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers. Graveside service and inurnment will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2001 at Mt. Liberty Cemetery, Mt. Liberty, Oh. KELLY Patricia A. Kelly, age 54, passed away February 25, 2001. Employed as an auditor with the Ohio State Department of Taxation for many years. KING Hattie King, age 92, Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at the Nelson Park Care Center. A former employee of O.S.U. Preceded in death by parents Henry and Lonnie Moore, 3 sisters, 3 brothers and 3 sisters-in-law. Survived by 2 special and devoted nephews, Lee Steele and William Moore; very special and devoted niece, Lillie Hector of Mobile, Ala.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. KUEHNER Nancy Jo Kuehner, age 66, went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 25, 2001. Preceded in death by husband Kenneth H. "Sarge" Kuehner. Survived by children, Joyce Ford, Catherine (Thomas) Johnson, Janet (Michael) Woodruff, Carol (John) Dowler, Phyllis (Kevin) Fuhrman, Kenneth R. Kuehner and Peggy Whitehorn; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lou Johnston, Miranda Jane Johnston, Barbara (Nelson) McLarkey and Pamela Johnston. Funeral service 7 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St., where friends may call 10 a.m.-12noon and 5-7 p.m. Thursday. Rev. Michael Gardner officiating.
