SCHMELZER Mary M. (Baird) Schmelzer, age 80, of Columbus, died on Monday, February 26, 2001 at Columbus Community Hospital. Preceded in death by her husband Raymond Schmelzer. Survived by her son, Gary Burgett; sister, Phyliss Darfus; brothers, Glen, Lincoln, Jim and Calvin Baird; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral Liturgy 10 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2001 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Entombment Forest Lawn Mausoleum.

SCHUBERT Bernard M. Schubert, 73, of Springfield, died 6:30 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2001 in Heartland of Springfield. Born in Milwaukee, Wish on September 8, 1927, son of Joseph and Sophie (Lukaszewski) Schubert. He began working with Koering Co. in Milwaukee in 1952 and was transferred to Springfield in 1965 where he retired as the Director of Industrial Relations for Bomag International-Springfield after a number of years service. He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church and a WW II U.S. Navy Veteran. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology at Marquette University where he graduated in 1953 and was the captain and number 1 player of the Tennis Team and participated in the N.C.A.A. championships. He was an active volunteer, officer and served as president in both the Wisconsin and Ohio Valley Tennis Associations. He also served as an active volunteer for the Western Tennis Association (now Midwest Tennis Association) and the United States Tennis Association. He and his family received the Ohio Valley Tennis Association family of the year award twice and the Western Tennis Association family of the year award once. Survivors include 2 children and spouses, Laura and Eric Lindquist of Columbus, Oh., Rusty and Debbie Schubert of Cincinnati, Oh.; 4 grandchildren, R.J. and Kyle Lindquist and Alex and Brett Schubert; sister, Mary Walt of Milwaukee, Wis. Preceded in death by his wife, Katherine J. in 1998 and brother Joseph. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME, Springfield, Oh. A private Memorial Mass will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Springfield Tennis Patrons, 3301 Kappel Drive, Springfield, Oh. 45503.

SMALLEY-MAY Gladice Smalley-May, well known astrologer, died February 26, 2001 in Akron. Calling hours Thursday and Friday 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the SCHERMESSER FUNERAL HOME, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd., Akron, Oh. 44319, 330-724-9351, where funeral service will be held Saturday 10:30 a.m.

SMITH Barbara A. Smith, age 64, passed away Friday, February 23, 2001. She was a member Glendower Baptist Church and Green Acres Block Watch. Preceded in death by son Brian Smith. Survived by husband, Kenneth; daughter, Cathy (John) Murphy of Fla.; sons, Wesley (Della) Smith of Marysville, Rick (Jeannette) Lunsford of Portland, Oh., and Kenny Lunsford of Columbus; 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. Memorial Service will be conducted at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St., Wednesday at 5 p.m. Rev. Denver Woods officiating.

TINAPPLE Warren K. Tinapple, 77, of London, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2001 in Riverside Hospital, Columbus.
He was born May 8, 1923 in Columbus to the late William and Lillian (Kramer) Tinapple.
Warren retired from Battelle, attended West Jefferson Bible Church, was a member of Masonic Lodge Mt. Sterling 269, Madison County Shrine Club, Aladdin Temple, Scottish Rite, Madison County Farm Bureau, life time member of A.S.I.S. A member of Nights of Pythias Sherman Lodge 470, Harrisburg Senior Citizens, and a Army Veteran of WW II. Warren is survived by his wife, Patty (Rice) Tinapple; daughter, Patricia of Apache Junction, Ariz.; 4 sons, David of Columbus, Lonnie (Cubby) of Hilliard, Eddie (Lynne) of Columbus and Steve (Chrissy) of West Jefferson; sister, Sharon McKean; 2 brothers, Bill and Gene; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Robert and a sister Madeline.
Funeral Service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2001 in RADER-McDONALD FUNERAL HOME, West Jefferson with Pastor Paul Watson officiating.
Burial will follow the service in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, West Jefferson.
Family and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Pythian Service will be conducted 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

TRACY Ardine A. Tracy, died February 26, 2001 at Broad Creek Care Center on Hilton Head Island, S.C., where she had been a resident for the past 2 years.
Mrs. Tracy was born in 1906 in Columbus, Oh., where she lived most of her life.
She was the daughter of Claude B. and Ina Arbogast.
She graduated from St. Mary of the Springs Academy, and is past president of its alumnae.
In 1928 she graduated in Home Economics from The Ohio State University where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and an avid football fan.
She taught Home Economics in Bucyrus, Oh. until her marriage in 1930 to Paul A. Tracy who died in 1987.
Mrs. Tracy was active in many church, school and civic organizations.
She was a charter member of St. Catharine's Parish and a founder and past president of the St. Catharine's Golden Age Club.
The St. Charles Preparatory School Mother's Club, the Elizabethan Guild, the Childhood League, the Mt. Carmel Health Center Auxiliary, of which she was a past president, all benefitted from her services.
She was also a member of the Bexley Activities Club.
Survived by 3 sons, Thomas A. (married to Mary Botkin Tracy) of Hilton Head Island, S.C., P. Joseph (married to Mary Elizabeth Tracy) of Strongsville, Oh. and John C. (married to Sue O'Leary Tracy) of Jackson, MS; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Friday 2:30-4 and 7-9 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. Broad St. Rosary Friday 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 10:30 a.m. at St. Catharine Church, 500 S. Gould Rd.
Burial St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Paul and Ardine Tracy Scholarship Fund of St. Charles Preparatory School, 2010 E. Broad St., Columbus, Oh. 43209 or St. Richards Special Kids, P.O. Box 16172, Jackson, MS 39236.

WIGHTMAN Don R. Wightman, age 59, of 833 S. Main St., Washington C.H., passed away on Monday, February 26, 2001.
He was born on January 9, 1942 to Eldon and Mae (East) Wightman.
He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran.
He retired from General Motors in 1988.
He was a member of the Southside Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Grieves) Wightman; sons, Robbie (Melinda) Wightman and Charlie (Holly) Wightman, all of Washington C.H.; 1 grandchild, Robbin Wightman.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2001 at 10 a.m. at the Southside Church of Christ with Danny Dodds officiating.
Friends may call at the SUMMERS FUNERAL HOME, Washington C.H. on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.

WILLIAMS Leslie Max Williams, age 75, of Reynoldsburg, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2001.
He served in the U.S. Navy and Air Force. Graduated from Marshall University.
Retired from AT&T, was a realtor with King Thompson Realtors.
Member of Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, Reynoldsburg Lodge #340 F&AM, and was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He was preceded in death by his father Leonard Franklin Williams and his brother Leonard "Skip" Franklin Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine, to whom he was married 49 years; sons, Douglas Max (Betty) and Eric Dwight (Laura); granddaughters, Brittney and Courtney; mother, Beatrice West Bailey (Williams); brother, Curtis Ray (Christine) Williams; sisters, Margaret Ann (Phil) Wheeler and Thella Mae (Mack) Shrewsberry; aunt, Nona (Shumate) Roles.
His family will receive friends Thursday 12-2 and 6-8 p.m. at the COTNER FUNERAL HOME, 7369 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg, where his funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m.
Rev. Dr. H. Douglas Shriner officiating.
Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate.

WISEMAN Betty Jean Wiseman, passed away February 22, 2001.
Survived by husband, Alvin "Ed" Wiseman, Columbus; daughter, Michelle (Jerry) McConnell; granddaughters, Amanda, Allison, Andrea, Jessica and Jennifer McConnell of Proctorville, Oh.
Interment February 26, 2001 at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, Oh.

WOODEN Sister Mary Elizabeth Wooden, Thursday at Whetstone Garden Care Center.
Member of Southfield Community Missionary Baptist Church. Employed for many years at the Chesapeake Snackfood Bar on Mt. Vernon Ave.
Retired from National Fire Hose Co.
Preceded in death by parents Charles Sr. and Odessa Jordan Zellner, brother Wiley and Matthew Zellner, sisters Martha Boyd, Odessa and Georgianna Zellner, Mildred Dodson and Emmalene Zellner.
She was the mother of Sandra Wooden White, Linda D. (Les) Armstrong; grandmother of Donald White, Sherben Gore, Lamar, Lesile and Joi Wooden; great-grandmother of 11; sister of Crarles Jr. Solomon (Hester) Zellner, Minerva Phillips, Dolly (Hosea) Bridges, Maggie (Wade) Barnett; great number of nephews, nieces, cousins, church family and many friends. Remains will rest in state after 10 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2001, Southfield Church, Fairwood and Augmont Aves.
Family receiving friends 11 a.m. Service in memory honoring Sister Mary 12noon conducted by Elder K.E. Moor of New Birth Christian Ministries and other ministers.
Casket will be closed at the beginning of the service.
Interment will follow Evergreen Cemetery, direction OWENS FUNERAL HOME SERVICE, 235-0071.

WOODIN Robert J. Woodin, age 86, on Monday, February 26, 2001 at Heartland of Jackson, Oh.
Survived by nieces, Sara (Leslie) Dillinger of Delaware, Oh. and Sandra Matlow of Cincinnati, Oh.; great-nephew, Kenneth Matlow of Cincinnati, Oh.; sister-in-law, Ruth Woodin of Columbus.
Mrs. Woodin was a 1936 graduate of The Ohio State University and a U.S. Army Veteran serving during WW II.
Interment and graveside service 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2001 at Sunset Cemetery.
Service arrangements by SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL.

YOUMANS Joy L. (Headlee) Youmans, age 70, of Plain City, died Monday, February 26, 2001 at Riverside Hospital.
Born February 21, 1931 in Union County. She was a long time resident of Plain City, and active in the community.
She was a member of Plain City Presbyterian Church and attended Northwest Chapel.
She sold Real Estate with King Thompson/Walls Bennett, Inc.
Preceded in death by mother Bessie Elizabeth (Smart) Headlee, father Delbert Headlee, step-mother Naomi Headlee.
Survived by husband, Richard Youmans, whom she married July 22, 1949; daughters, Susanne (Todd) Wurschmidt, Plain City and Sharon "Sherry" (James) Phillips, Plain City; grandchildren, Mitchell and Austin Wurschmidt, Jay, Gretchen and Sam Phillips; sisters, Pat Collins, Plain City and Hope (Rex) North, Plain City; brothers, Jerry (Rose) Headlee, Philadelphia, Pa. and Tom (Pam) Headlee, Columbus.
Funeral 11 a.m. Friday March 2, 2001, Northwest Chapel, 6700 Rings Road, Dublin.
Family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 202 E. Main St., Plain City.
Burial Forest Grove Cemetery, Plain City.
