Services for Eustaquio Vega were held Thursday in St. John's Catholic Church with Father David Tscherne officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Oscar and Rey Jimenez, Ramon and Luis Vega, Victor Nigron and Ruben Aguiar. Handling arrangements was Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home.

Melvin Sauder
ARCHBOLD - Melvin Sauder, 92, Archbold, died Saturday morning in Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon. Arrangements are pending at Short Funeral Home.

Violet Oler
BRYAN - Former Montpelier resident Violet M. Oler, 80, Bryan, died at 8:50 a.m. Thursday in Harborside Care Center after an extended illness.
She was born Oct. 18, 1920, in Follensbee, W.Va., the daughter of Alfred and Alma (Goodall) Waugh. In 1966, she married Ronald Oler, who died in September. A homemaker, she was a member of Montpelier Church of Christ.
Surviving are a son, Paul Buffington, Weirton, W.Va.; a daughter, Sharon Burkhart, El Cajun, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Lindis Daly, Camarillo, Calif.; two sisters, Vera Ralston of Fenton, Mo., and Fern Byroads, Bryan; and three grandchildren, a stepgrandchild, five great-grandchildren and a great-stepgrandchild.
Also preceding her in death were a brother, Melvin Waugh; and a sister, Opal Clark.
Graveside services will be at a later date. There will be no visitation. Handling arrangements is Krill Funeral Service, Edgerton.

Herbert Vance
NAPOLEON - Herbert Jay Vance, 64, Napoleon, died Thursday afternoon in his home.
He was born Dec. 15, 1935, in Henry County's Monroe Township, the son of Clyde and Blanche (Fackler) Vance. In 1997, he married Joann Fenter, who survives. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. He worked for Gilson Screen, Malinta, and Northern Ohio Trucking Co., Napoleon, until he retired in 1985, then worked part-time for Shastar Rental Co., Napoleon.
Also surviving are a son, Randy, McClure; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Julie) Engard of Holgate and Mrs. William (Lori) Butterfield Jr., Napoleon; a stepson, David Burill, Elery; two brothers, Nelson of Elery and Lloyd, Napoleon; five sisters, Mrs. Mark (Virginia) Zuehlsdorff of Montana, Mrs. Franklin (Leona) Krombach of Republic, Mrs. Don (Lois) Rettig of Malinta, Naomi McKinnis of North Baltimore and Phyllis Farber, Elkart, Ind.; and three grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were three brothers, Raymond, Lewis and Orland; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, with Rev. David Klappenback officiating. Burial will be in Hoy Cemetery, in Henry County's Harrison Township, with military rites accorded by joint veterans posts of Napoleon.
Preferred memorials are to the family or a charity of the donor's choice.

Isabella Crawford
PAYNE - Isabella D. Crawford, 87, Payne, died at noon Friday in Dallas Lamb Foundation Home, Payne.
She was born July 31, 1913, in Payne, the daughter of Homer and Mary (Overmyer) Zartman. She married James Crawford, who died in 1997. A member of Payne Church of the Nazarene, she worked at Fabracon, Grabill, Ind., where she retired.
Surviving are a son, David, Payne; two sisters, Helen Hook and Beulah Eschbach, both of Payne; and four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Melvin; and four daughters, Mildred, Harriett, Sherry and Joyce.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the church, with Rev. Michael Harper officiating. Burial will be in Lehman Cemetery. Visitation is after 4 p.m. today in Slade Funeral Home, Payne.
Preferred memorials are to the church's building fund.

Lounetta Gilbert
STRYKER - Lounette Sebring Gilbert, 81, Stryker, died Saturday morning in Toledo Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 12, 1918, near Delta, the daughter of Raymond and Bessie (Bundy) Fitzsimmons. In 1935, she married Dale Sebring, who died in 1953. In 1971, she married Peter Gilbert, who survives. She worked for Wire Factory, Wauseon, and ITT Higbie, Archbold, from 1965 until she retired in 1984.
Also surviving are five sons, Marvin Sebring of Defiance, Neil Sebring of Delta, Larry Sebring of Mansfield, Gary and Joel Sebring, both of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. Lowell (Nancy) Ayers, Tedrow; a stepson, Peter Gilbert II, Stryker; two brothers, Virgil Fitzsimmons of Swanton and Ronnie Fitzsimmons, Grand Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. Ruskin (Betty) Tansell of Fort Myers, Fla., and Mrs. James (Verna) Faler, Delta; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a son, Byron Sebring; a daughter, Sharon Stevens; a brother, Alvin Fitzsimmons; and a sister, JoAnn Farley.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Short Funeral Home, Archbold, with Pastor Eric Markovich officiating. Entombment will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Monday.
Preferred memorials are to the Kidney Foundation.

Services for Robert M. Smith were held Friday at Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Braun officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joel, Darren, Jeff and John Smith, Scott Mason and Jerry Tipton.

Hilda Snyder
Services for Hilda H. Snyder were held Saturday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, with Rev. Donald Luhring officiating. Music was provided by Jan Kaiser. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark and Anthony Meier, Carl and Ken Snyder, Bernie Czartoski, Bob Degler, Emmett Blevins and Forrest Schisler. Honorary pallbearers were William Wolf, Ralph Reineke, Jim Gruver and Ron Huber.

Willard Richer
ARCHBOLD - Former Wauseon resident Willard G. Richer, 89, Archbold, died Sunday morning in his home.
He was born April 2, 1911, near Grabill, Ind., the son of Henry and Mary (Aeschliman) Richer. In 1935, he married Clara Short, who died in 1994. He taught in Fulton County country schools from 1930-1942, was a retired farmer and worked for Ironwood Golf Course in Wauseon and Jewish Ministry, Toledo. He was a member of Gideons International and a charter member of North Clinton Mennonite Church, near Wauseon, where he served on the building committee.
Surviving are two sons, Roland and Larry, both of Wauseon; two daughters, Mrs. Lowell (Velda) Rufenacht of Archbold and Mrs. David (Aldine) Holsopple, Wauseon; a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Florence) Aschliman; and 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Raymond, Walter and Harold, in infancy; and a grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with Revs. Gary Blosser, Brad Faler and Michael Zehr officiating. Burial will precede services in Pettisville Cemetery. Visitation is from 1-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 6-9 p.m. Thursday in the church. Handling arrangements is Short Funeral Home, Archbold.
Preferred memorials are to the church's building fund, Gideons International or Fairlawn.

Melvin Sauder
ARCHBOLD - Former Elmira resident Melvin Sauder, 92, Archbold, died early Saturday morning at Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon.
He was born Nov. 18, 1908, near Pettisville, the son of Samuel and Katie (Nofziger) Sauder. In 1933, he married Lela Sauder, who died in November. He worked at Archbold Ladder Co., the former King-Wyse in Archbold and retired from Sauder Manufacturing Co., Archbold, in 1976. He was a member of Central Mennonite Church, Archbold.
Surviving are a son, Gene, Stryker; two daughters, Mrs. George (Danelda) Brenneman of LaJunta, Colo., and Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Spiess, Yuba City, Calif.; two sisters, Carrie Miller and Viola Aschliman, both of Wauseon; and eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were a brother, Edward; three sisters, Fannie Sauder, Emma Grieser and Laura Roth; and an infant granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church with Revs. Jeff Smith and Cliff Brubaker officiating. Burial will be in Pettisville Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-7 p.m. Wednesday at Fairlawn Chapel, Archbold. Handling arrangements is Short Funeral Home, Archbold.
